A very pleasant outdoor dining experience during covid. Our servers were extremely nice, always wore masks and gave great service. Our local friends eat here once a week and said the service was consistently good. We hit happy hour on Sunday (happy hour 5 to 8 Sunday thru Thursday), and the place was very busy. On happy hour, their coconut daiquiri was delicious. Their pitcher of rhubarb mojito was tasty but a little watered down by the ice. Their shishito mushrooms were excellent, as are the sliders, cauliflower, and tater tot selections. A fun happy hour spot. They have large windows that open up to feel like you are outside when inside, and a rooftop bar, so plenty of space to spread out. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant. read more

I really wanted to like this place more however our experience was pretty average. Despite being a large party of 9 people, our waiter was fantastic! He paced our meal well and gave us recommendations on his favorite meals. Our favorite part of the meal was the bangin' cauliflower app. It was spicy and crispy! Others at the table had Caesar and house salads which they enjoyed. We ordered the steak frites and the short rib. Both dishes, the meat was lacking seasoning. The steak in the steak frites was chewy and there were 6 pieces on top of what looked like a pound of French fries and wayyyy too much bacon. It was more like a meal of fries with a side of steak. The short rib was tender and fell apart but a little dry. The mashed potatoes on that dish were my favorite part. A different member of our party got the lamb gyro dish, and again, thought the meat wasn't seasoned well. Same with the salmon dish. Overall, underwhelmed by our experience. It did seam a bit cramped, but I would attribute that to it being so popular so there were a lot of people there. The food was okay. There were definitely some interesting item on the menu. Cool spot with great menu options. Our group of four came on a Monday night at 6:30 in this Covid era and waited about 15 mins before getting a great table. We started out with the Grilled Avocado ($9) and Hummus Flight ($15) - all of us loved both of the items. The avocado was pretty unique. Our group ordered the Steak Frites ($17), Roost Burger ($15), Squash Lettuce Wraps ($13) and 60 South Salmon ($21). I came here with a couple friends on a late Friday night. We were seated pretty promptly without a reservation, which was great, but our experience with our server soured the rest of the experience. Our server got multiple things wrong. He brought my spouse a beer he never asked for and gave me my short rib tacos on a sandwich, which isn't even an option listed on their menu. We ordered some poutine as an appetizer, and while it is meant to share, four of use could only each a couple fries each. When he brought us the bill, the mistaken items were still on there (it's an extra $1.50 for a sandwich version apparently), and we had to ask him twice to remove the things we didn't order. read more

When I mentioned to people the hubs and I were coming for lunch with friends, everyone said we were in for a treat. They were not wrong. We started with the banging cauliflower. Two orders actually. Both disappeared in a hot second. For my lunch I decided on the roasted squash lettuce wraps. These were outstanding. All of the parts were perfectly seasoned and then you put it all together and it was magic. The hubs went with pork tacos and was also super happy with his choice. The tots are among the better tots I've had. The only area of opportunity was the old fashioned and sazarac cocktails. Definitely a bit on the weak and unbalanced side. It's still official. The Roost is definitely my heart and soul. I've been waiting their return to Longmont and never fail to miss a post. Last night: Thursday they did a re-grand opening for 3 hours, and you bet I was there at 6pm. I could NOT wait to try their new menu options. 1. Burrata: the waitress was not joking, this has to be my FAVORITE addition to their menu. It was amazing, delicious, creamy, and so filling. It was worth every penny. 2. Hawaiian Pork Belly: this was melt in your mouth AMAZING! It is definitely on the pricey side, but to me anything at this place is worth it. 3. Bangin Cauliflower: still worth getting every single time. My favorite dish that continues to amaze is the Steak Frites, we invited a new friend to come along and he fell in LOVE. Desserts: 1. Hawaiian Butter Mochi: amazing, I would personally like the fruit on the side, but great concept and great flavor. 2. Whiskey Chocolate Torte: VERY rich! It was good, but I would prefer something not as rich. Nice dark chocolate flavor. 3. Sweet Potato Cheesecake: Oh my FLUFF! It did taste like pumpkin and I am okay with that. In my opinion, every triple D review goes downhill after it's aired. This is one of them. The tripple d review went on and on about the bangin' Cauliflower. However, the florets were way too small, and the sauce overwhelmed them so that there was no flavor of cauliflower whatsoever. The 1 or 2 larger florets were actually more balanced. We ordered the lamb gyro, lunch special.....terrible. The couscous, which to me, was orzo, was flavorless. The best thing about the dish was the hummus. The rest was awful. I noticed other patrons around me leaving the "couscous" behind. We drove all the way from Denver for mediocre service and food. Triple D joints should not rest on their laurels....always an epic fail. Except J28 in Hollyeood FL. They still rock even after 3D and Guy. read more

You know the best part? My hubby and I cannot eat a big meal! We are older, and we were traveling. We ordered the pot roast and asked to split the meal- it was brought to us by a food warrior in black gloves ( obviously they care about cleanliness) .. separate plates with a generous serving of mashed potatoes and pot roast on each plate- NO EXTRA charge. So frustrating. Upper deck is a lovely environment to eat. Servers are always nice and attentive. Want to give this 5 stars because when they hit the mark their food is really wonderful. Unfortunately, after 5 or 6 visits I've gotta conclude that there are couple/few good items on each season's menu and the rest are just average fare. Hits: Short Rib tacos Chilean Salmon (if you ask for it not to be over cooked) Misses: Coq Au Vin was really dry chicken in a boring sauce. Garlic Parmesan Fries have repeatedly been a pile of soggy fries with a bunch of garlic and cheese hidden under the pile. You folks really need to learn how to do this properly. read more

We have visited The Roost three times over the past two years, and we've always appreciated the good service and pleasant ambiance, whether in the summer or winter. However, during our most recent visit, we noticed a decline in the quality of both the food and cocktails. The guava mojito we ordered was garnished with mint that was half brown and rotten, and the old fashioned was barely there which was disappointing, especially since I often order old fashioneds and know what to expect. We also ordered a glass of cabernet sauvignon, but it tasted strikingly off, unlike any cabernet we'd had before. When we sent it back, the server tasted his own glass and confirmed that it simply wasn't a good wine, so replaced it with something more acceptable. For our meal, we ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer and had a burger and the short ribs for our main course. The brussel sprouts were super tangy and needed salt. The burger was good but not great, while the short ribs were cold and lacked flavor, which was disappointing as short ribs are usually so flavorful. The accompanying squash was undercooked, with some pieces being quite soggy. It's disheartening because The Roost has been our go-to spot in Longmont. I hope this review encourages the team to bring the quality back to where it was when we first fell in love with the place a couple years ago. read more

Ate here recently at the recommendation of a friend. The food was fairly disappointing. I ordered the polenta bites for an appetizer and the streak frites for the entree. The polenta bites were bland (and definitely needed more goat cheese). The steak frites lacked seasoning and development of flavors. The steak was done more than I requested and the fries got soggy underneath due to the sauce in the dish. I also didn't love the scallions laying on the top - let's at least chop these so they're more edible. There were also a number of flies buzzing around the windows in the afternoon sun, which was not an appetizing edition. read more

Great place in the heart of Longmont! Even if it's on Main street, parking is easy, just go behind the building. Last time we went for dinner during the week, we could not get a table in the restaurant, but there was room in the bar, and it's very spacious and pleasant. I love the wall behind the long counter with all the backlit bottles, super cool! The menu offers plenty of options, what we had was very tasty and prices are reasonable. Great selection of cocktails also, with a few of them in pitchers for groups. Our server was super friendly too! read more

I came here for lunch today and had the short rib sandwich and fries, and WOW. That sandwich was amazing. It was big and messy, so I had to eat it with a fork, but it was superb. The meat was incredibly tender and there was a little fat mixed in here and there - I love it when restaurants leave some fat on the meat, it really amps up the flavor. It came with mushrooms, garlic aioli and cheddar, which was a perfect combination. I ordered some extra sauce for it and they gave me this whiskey cream sauce which was amazing - kind of like if steak sauce, gravy and whiskey had a delicious baby. The fries were really standard fries, but they were well cooked, and I appreciate that. So many places have awful fries, but these were good. They came with another sauce - a ketchup, mayo, Sriracha combo, which was perfection. Flavorful but not super spicy. I really enjoyed this lunch, and I'll be coming back to try something else for sure! read more

Not sure how these guys get 4+ stars. Just unimpressed with ambiance, menu, and food quality. We had a California burger and the hot wings. Burger was like warm and over slathered with Guac/avocado and lettuce to the point that you couldn't taste the burger. The chicken wings are way too battered (although gluten free) so drenched in sauce but SOGGY. The chicken did not taste fresh OR had been defrosted too fast with hot/warm water and just tasted bad. Yesterday was my birthday and I was in town with some friends for a wedding. I found this spot bc I wanted a to find a brunch place for my birthday that took reservations for 8 people. It was such a good experience, we were given a nice table outside in their brick alley area. The waiter was very friendly and personable and he took really good care of us. Everyone really enjoyed their food, I had a falafel burger and we really liked the burrata and cauliflower appetizer. My husband secretly ordered a few desserts for my birthday that were delicious, we had carrot cake and a rhubarb pie and a cheesecake. Very Impressed Once again, we stumbled onto this place by accident. We were passing thru town and headed to a local brew house when we literally walked by The Roost. After checking out the menu we walked in and immediately got a table up in the roof patio. The place had a great view and the staff was very friendly. After talking with our server he made a few recommendations and he was on point. The gals ordered a spicy margarita and my buddy and I got a local apricot beer from Dry Dock. That beer was incredible. I love fruit beers and this was a top 5. While hangin out we ordered their Buffalo cauliflower and it was real good. We then split a chicken sandwich and ordered another round of drinks. Just as we were wrapping up the rain came in so we closed out. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. The atmosphere also had a chill vibe. If you're in the area I recommend giving The Roost a shot. read more

This place USED TO have amazing food and service but has gone downhill. Spending money on disappointing food is a different kind of pain. I've tried the curry (that squash doesn't work with the dish the skin is too tough, rice is WAY over cooked mush, 1/8 cup veggies in a $17 curry isn't cool plus the flavor tastes like sweet and sour sauce) and the burger here, both were disappointing. The tots were stale and old. I would just let this go but the red head bartender and the hostess with long blonde hair were so rude it just left me with a bad feeling. Love the Roost. It's only our second time there but we'll definitely make it a regular spot. The barrel aged cocktail on special is a treat. At the time of this review it's a gin cherry lime sour aged in house. The food was all great and they have options for everyone. Our friends who took us here said this is their go-to and I can see why! The Roost is a really fun restaurant with a great energy. It's modern and young, but is somewhere people of all ages can enjoy. Our waitress was on top of things, which we appreciated! My husband and I got the artichoke and kale dip, which was so good! The bread it comes with is so fluffy and buttery! I wish I got the recipe for it. For entrees, he got the salmon, which was a large portion and thoroughly filled him up. I got the power salad with chicken added, and it was absolutely delicious. I had to take some of it to go. Love their large portions and healthy ingredients. Not my cup of tea. The food's overpriced for the quality and portions, and it's simply not worth the hype. I ordered the Grilled Ahi Torta and my husband got the Vegan Falafel Burger. We didn't realize our meals came with garlic fries (we were expecting regular fries), but that didn't make a positive impact to the meal since they were wilted and cold by the time we got home. The burger was average in taste and my ahi sandwich thing was meh as well. I ended up with a gnarly stomach ache a few hours after eating that kept me up all night. I would recommend skipping the ahi because my husband slept like a baby with his well-digested food. Since we ordered our food to-go, I will add that they need to sort out their pick up process in the restaurant. It's really crowded in the front and hard to figure out who's waiting for a table and who's waiting for their order. read more
