Oaxacan Reviver

Really really liked this place and specifically the Oaxacan Reviver drink that I (and three of my friends) ordered. It was probably one of the best and most unique cocktails I've ever had in NYC - as soon as I saw 4 different liquors, thai coconut milk, AND espresso in the description I knew I had to have it. It was kind of like a combination of an espresso martini and a Vietnamese coffee? Regardless it was delicious and STRONG. Other than that, I love the way they divide the menu by flavor / type (laughed at the category 'mas fuerte') - all the drinks sounded delicious and I want to return to try the Harvester of Sorrow. The one thing I will say is that they charge $5 for a bag of chips still in the bag which felt like a slight con but hey, that's New York.

This spot is so, so cute! It's right off the highway and away from the hustle and bustle of Bedford. We went on a Friday night and it was super mellow. We had a table and back area pretty much to ourselves. Inside it's dimly lit with tons of candles, tables, bar tops and a killer cocktail menu. Cocktails range from $9-13. I tried both gin cocktails and really loved the Have A Heart. There's also some outdoor seating and a small bar menu with meat & cheese, hummus, etc. I highly recommend it here! :)

"It was on the afternoon in the small wooden town that I was so mired in my act of jealousy I did not pay attention to the beauty of the dark church in front of me." - "The Open Sound of French," Dorothea Lasky The cheese is a dream. So are the bartenders. So are the Sunday afternoon waves.

This charming and comfortable bar offers a cozy counter or table to pass the night away. The dapperly dressed bartenders (like Jon) work hard to create fine cocktails but also leave you with a bottle of water (lifesaver!) The damask, dark wood, and chandeliers has all been done before, but I still love it. The tables come with wait service, which would be annoying if the waitresses weren't so prompt and friendly. They serve simple foods and have a pleasing cheese and olive toast on the menu (Super-nice Alex is often back there making it for me... whoops good bye Alex we hardly knew ye). My only complaint is the actual cocktail menu - everything sounds good but includes at lease one of my no-no ingredients (gin, brandy, whiskey...) I've been pushing for a little more diversity on the menu... its called a Violet and it will be a hit, I swear!

Came here for a couple of drinks recently and it was enjoyable. The bartender Ben was very nice and just chilled out with us and talked. It's nice when you can just chat and enjoy a nice drink. The bar itself is a little dark and dreary for my liking, but that's honestly personal preference. The drinks are really good, strong, but good. They are on the pricier side with no happy hour to my knowledge, but it's Williamsburg, so that's that. They have a really nice outdoor seating area with ash trays. I would imagine it would be a very nice place to sit and relax with a drink in the summer because there was a lot of natural shade from the bar itself.

The assortment of drinks is fantastic- tried the Scottish Dew, which had muddled cucumbers, bitters, and a heavy pour of whiskey.

It's a classic after-work watering hole for the finance workers, consultants, and attorneys who populate the area. The decor is awesome, and makes you feel fuzzy and at home!!! But let's talk about the real star of the show: the burger. I've had my fair share of burgers in NYC, but this one takes the cake. The patty is juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of char on the outside. The bun is soft and pillowy, holding everything together without getting soggy. And the bacon is mmm mmmmmmm PERFECT!!! Trust me when I say it's worth braving the sea of suits just to get your hands on one of these bad boys. So if you find yourself in Chinatown after work or on a weekend night out with friends (or even alone), do yourself a favor and stop by Whiskey Tavern for some great drinks (not watered down!) and an unforgettable burger experience. You won't regret it! But the REAL reason this place is so special is the PEOPLE. This place is like the bar from that show "Cheers", but in 2026! Just the most amazing people Ever running the show. After a nice stop and a secret garden in west Greenwich, I decided to use the points I had racked up and suggested a beverage at the Spaniard. It was agreed upon, in part as i suggested "they probably have a nice bathroom". Of which they did. It helped they had a nice house drink menu too. My gal found something she would like, and she did. After a fun drink off their menu I got a scotch. Old Putney 12 year. Actually the bartender came up and said they were out, would I want a 18 year or 20 year, something like that. it was a bit more money but it was he last beverage of the weekend trip so I got it. My Lourd it was good. If we had time I would have gotten an Oban they had, but we were off. But we will be back, maybe this year. And if I have racked up enough points in the area, I will suggest this excellent whisky bar.

Walking through the cold streets, I stumbled upon The Spaniard which has quickly become one of my favorite NY destinations! We were there for a quick 30 hour trip to experience the "Holiday Magic". After a long day of travel, we just needed something good. We arrived and they accommodated us in a back booth tucked behind the bar, perfect! Our waiter was a delight and very responsive. The martini was kick-ass and our waiter was kind enough to offer us many recommendations. We landed on Charbroiled Oysters, Steak Tartare, and French Onion Dip. Someone slap me, I'm drooling while I write this review over a year later. Seriously, phenomenal. Every bite was amazing! We cleared the table and manged a few cocktails during our time with The Spaniard. If you are ever in the West Village, stop by, you won't be sorry! Thanks me later, actually!

However, I was quickly proven wrong. Not only was the service topnotch, but the drinks were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. There's a ton of options which is also surprising considering the tap only format. Upon further reflection of how tiny the bar is, it makes sense why they would go this route. It would be challenging for one person let alone two to be behind that bar shaking and stirring. I also heard there's a back area with more seating but we didn't explore much further than the front bar stool seating. Seems like a cool spot for happy hour or late night drinks and I would definitely return!

We were lucky to grab 2 seats at the bar as the rest of the seating actually seemed a bit cramped and uninviting. They advertise a heated back patio but I don't think the heat was on and no one was there, which is a bummer. Regardless, the theme is nice with everything attributable to their "laboratory" ambience. Everything is served in beakers or similar glasses. It can get a bit crowded sitting at the bar as that's where everyone orders drinks but otherwise this was quite enjoyable. Will definitely keep on the list for HH.
