I was pleasantly surprised by how great this restaurant is. Alejandro was on his "A" game and did not miss a beat as he served up our order and provided our meals quickly and hot. The prices are very competitive and we even had leftovers!

The food made me feel like I was getting breakfast from a family member or I was at someone's home. I felt so great and welcomed going to the diner. The ambiance felt homie and the prices are affordable especially in this economy. The service was amazing, my sever Alejandro, was friendly and attentive of my brother's and I's needs. I will come back again to try their breakfast burrito. I ordered the Reyn meal and my brother ordered the Leo's special. Mine came with a slice of banana bread and that bread is so moist and delicious.

Eggs, bacon and banana bread

What a satisfying comfort food breakfast. Fast, friendly service all inside what looks like a 1950's diner. Don't think you could go wrong with anything you order. The specialty of the house appears to be homemade banana bread - it seems to come with every dish. It was good, especially slathered with the big dollop of butter. Hashbrowns that accompanied the eggs and bacon were crispy delicious. Service was spot on. Inside the diner atmosphere exudes everything. No frills just a wonderful way to stary your day.

Small hole in the wall diner with pretty decent food. The interior is small and cozy but the staff is super friendly. They were also very accommodating about swapping meat alternatives since I do not eat meat. Basic breakfast food that is actually good. Glad to live nearby to be able to visit any time.

Excellent prices, delicious no frills food and fast service, you cannot go wrong here. The Reyn has been a staple in Pasadena for decades there's plenty of parking behind the restaurant. They are known for their banana bread which you can sub for any toast order but more importantly for good value. This beloved spot can have over an hour wait on the weekends so come early! The hash browns are crispy and the t-bone is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Their pancakes are amazing as well, not buttermilk and not doughy just yum! This spot is nothing flashy just a traditional diner full of locals and food served with love.

Chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, English muffin, Spanish omelette and hash browns

I love the Reyn, and so do other people as evidenced by the very long line if you go after 8:30am on the weekends. We're lucky to live close by and come early in the morning when there aren't that many people inside. We choose our seat and get our order taken quickly by an always friendly service staff. I've had the French toast combo and that was delicious but my FAVORITE breakfast is the Spanish omelette. If you don't like thin/tomato-ey salsa, you should probably get this with salsa on the side or something because they DRENCH the omelette in salsa (which I enjoy because I like the saucy salsa). I love the crunch of the bell peppers and onions inside of the omelette and the cheese is soo gooey. The hash browns are perfectly crunchy and they give you an ample amount (but I'm a potato fiend and still always want more!) I've tried basically every bread that they have there and they're all delicious. They have a bakery that they get the bread from and you can tell - at first I thought they baked the bread in house because that's how good it was! The banana bread is worth the extra charge, but my favorite are the English muffins, they're nice and tangy. I'll be coming here are often as I can because I absolutely love The Reyn!

They were attentive and seated us right away. Use the back door to enter the restaurant and grab street parking. The hashbrowns and bacon were a bit too greasy for my taste and the sausage was okay. The banana bread was very chewy and thick, The pancakes were fluffy and fine. Overall a good experience with our server and the food tasted homemade.

We came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9 am. The place is BUSY! We had our name added to the waitlist; they said about 20 minutes, but 10 minutes later asked us if counter seating was okay. Of course; I enjoy seeing how restaurants function. Excellent service, delicious food and a great place to enjoy a nice breakfast. Think diner vibes with some delicious banana bread as a not to miss option. My husband and I ordered a Chicken fried steak and corned beef and hash. Both meals were very good. It's worth the wait.

Not Celiac Safe!
Shannon P.

As someone with Celiac disease, I try very hard to ask questions kindly and respectfully when dining out because cross contamination can make me seriously ill. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. The woman taking our order did not seem to know what Celiac disease or gluten even was, and became visibly annoyed when I asked basic questions about food preparation and cross contamination. When I asked about the prep station and whether gloves or utensils could be changed, she refused to ask the cooks. From what I was told, nearly everything shares the same grill. The only item that might potentially be safe would be eggs cooked in a separate pan, but without changing gloves or utensils, even that would not actually be safe for someone with Celiac disease. I ended up not eating at all. I actually left my party and waited in the car because I wanted to cry. It was embarrassing and honestly heartbreaking to feel like asking questions to protect my health was treated like an inconvenience. I completely understand not every restaurant can accommodate Celiac, but kindness, honesty, and basic understanding go a long way. I hope the staff can receive better education about food allergies and cross contamination in the future.

What We Ordered: -Banana Bread $3.89 -Farmer's Breakfast $16.29 -Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs $15.49 -Coffee $3.49 I read online about their famous Banana Bread. As soon as, we were seated and given menus. I asked for a slice of Banana Bread. My mouth was watering in anticipation of trying the Banana Bread. My Mother wasn't much of a cook, but she did make a decent Banana Bread, but I gotta say, The Reyn makes a better one than her. My go-to diner order has always been a Chicken Fried Steak unless they're known for something specific. The Chicken Fried Steak was nice and tender, but it was a bit of small portion. It came with a side of toast or Banana Bread. The only answer is to order the Banana Bread over an order of toast. The home fries with the onions were great! As previously mentioned, the banana bread was out of this world! You must try it! My wife ordered the Farmer's Breakfast which came with two eggs, hash browns, two strips of bacon, two sausage links and two pancakes. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and a good size. The staff did a great job with refilling waters and topping up the coffee. That was very attentive on their part! I probably wouldn't order the Chicken Fried Steak again, but I would for sure order the home fries with onions and that delicious Banana Bread. The wife said, she'd order the Farmer's Breakfast as she especially loved the crispy hash brown. We'll definitely be back to The Reyn again soon! Looking forward to trying other delicious dishes.

I had breakfast twice here last weekend. How have I not tried this place before?! The food here is fantastic! Everything is cooked perfectly, the service is fast and nice, ambience is adorable. I highly recommend their banana bread. The portions are generous and the price is reasonable, especially compared to other options in the area.

What do you think k this looks like, cheese fries... no its an order of huevos rancheros, what a presentation!!
Dulce C.

The sauce of the huevos rancheros, lack of flavor, add some spices. The presentation really sucks, how about the potatoes on the side, it just looks like a mountain of sauce and cheese. I asked for a jalapeño and was charged $0.29, come on guys!! Ot at least offer a good side salsa, not the bottle type. Coffee almost $4.00 , Starbucks is better and for $3.15... really!! The service is good, the server is very attentive. Definitely you can do better, going next door and trying their mexican food. First and las here

Fun decorations!

What is the purpose of the wait list when a third of the tables were empty?

When we went there was no wait list

Do they have WiFi?

I don't think so! They have very quick turn arounds, so they don't want customers stick around for too long.

Can you do a large to go breakfast order for 30-40 people?

I want to see menu?

Just good coffee shop food. Nice place to hangout or meet friends.

Do you do to go orders?

Yes they do!

First of all the woman taking orders was extremely rude! There were 3 of us ordering together. The first person wanted to order the French Toast combo and switch out the eggs for hashbrowns. We were told that we would have to pay the cost of a side of hashbrowns $4.70. An extra egg cost $2.10 so 2 eggs would cost $4.20 so charge us the 50 cent difference for the hashbrowns. We asked if we could do this and she scoffed and said no. (I remember not too long ago they were charging an additional cost to anything with eggs due to the higher cost of eggs.) So the first person stepped aside to figure out what to get. The next person in our party ordered, obviously there are still 2 people left in our party to order and in a very snotty way, as if she was being inconvenienced, she asked "Is that all?" Then as she was filling our drinks she kept making snide comments about us to another employee. When our food came the French Toast had butter on it, we had asked for no butter and they also had bits of onion in them. Again, due to the rude service we will go down the street to Tops from now on. Upon reading other reviews she is clearly THE problem and must be related to someone because she is still there. Clean house and you'll get customers back.

They generally come out runny or overcooked. The eggs were fresh, seasoned great and tasted delicious. Husband ordered his scrambled with cheese and onions and his were perfect too. This is such a sad eatery for a college campus...it almost makes me want to cry…read more Let's see, it's my second day on campus and am totallllly missing my food from UCLA. So far, I've tried their coffee. It's not exactly the cheapest coffee out there but at least it's cheaper than Starbucks. Yesterday for lunch, I also got the turkey and cheese pita sandwich (priced decently) which was pretty good. For dinner I got a Chinese Chicken Sandwhich which was okay....but I would only eat it again if i was in need desperately for fiber. Today, I started off with the same coffee routine, but for lunch I got their Italian combo which was lasagna with salad and garlic bread stick. WOW. That lasagna was super dry. It was one of those frozen lasagna that you can buy at Costco...but even if I were to make it it would come out better. The food wasn't even kept in a steamer, but a tin foil tray so it was cold and dry. BLEH. The salad was okay, but they piled it on with ranch dressing :( And the bread stick. my GOSH! The roof of my mouth is still trying to recover from the flavorless dry plank of carbs that I was given. All that for ~$7. RIPPPPP OFFFFFFF. There is still the Chinese selection and the grill that I have yet to try. Chinese doesn't look too promising...for sure worse than Panda Express right across the street. The grill though looks good considering they actually make it for you on the spot. They also have a fried popcorn chicken and french fries you can grab and go. It looks good, but I have mainly 2 issues with it 1) It costs ~$6.50 and 2) it's WRAPPED IN SARAN WRAP IN A STYROFOAM TRAY SITTING UNDER THE HEAT TRYING TO KEEP IT WARM!!! uh...HELLO?!?! Isn't that just WAITING for cancer to happen with MELTING PLASTIC?!?!?!?! YIKES! For the sake of being on campus, it's 2 stars. They also keep the place pretty clean. After that, the server kindly offered me the sirloin as well, but it was undercooked in the center, on the raw side and not properly prepared either.
