They're overpriced and the cashier is rude. I wish they have better prices. They also need to have the bigger cheaper season fries.

Pie 'n Burger

We LOVE Pie N Burger! Why didn't we discover this sooner?…read more We have been frequent visitors of the Pasadena area when we visit F&F, but it's feeling like a second home. Pie N Burger has always been one of the places on my list. When we were taking a walk, I purposely took a detour here. It's a no-frills diner spot that has been around since 1963 - it is what it is. **This is a cash only restaurant. They have an on-site ATM that will charge you fees. I recommend getting cash at your bank ATM before stopping by. We were trying to divvy up what we could order with what we had on us until we discovered the ATM. We ordered shareables, so we started with an one of the egg breakfasts combos, and added a side of pancakes and a lemon merengue pie to go. What stood out is the jams/preserves were house made, as well as their salsa. The salsa has a kick but it is good. I couldn't say anything bad about what we ate because it was SO good. I am craving on going back for the preserves and pancakes. I know we'll have to go back for the burgers for out next visit. We sat at the counter but our waitress was above average/excellent service. It's so nice to be somewhere so welcoming and local.

Mission Statement: As we celebrate more than six decades in business, we remain committed to the…read moresame principles that were established in 1963: quality ingredients, timeless recipes, and treating every guest like family. We're honored to be a gathering place for our community and a destination for those seeking an authentic taste of classic American dining. Whether you are a regular local or a first-time visitor, we are happy to serve you. Pasadena is heralded as the birthplace of the cheeseburger, and we honor that tradition with utmost pride. Many of our recipes date back to 1963, when the restaurant first opened. We remain committed to preserving the quality and essence of the traditions that have been passed down through generations. We look forward to your next visit and sharing our special sauce with you! Credit Cards: They're not accepted, but they do have a atm inside the shop. Price Point: Kinda pricey, but the quality of the food is good. Restrooms: Restrooms are available for usage. Just be mindful that there are no handles or knobs for hot and cold water. Under the sink, there are dual knee pedals that operate the hot and cold water. Location/Parking: Major cross streets are Lake and California. Parking can be found in the shared parking with Loli Farms. You can also parking along California. Ambiance/Decor: Classic American diner feel. Sprinkled with some antique equipment (milkshake maker and cash register to name a few) that still part of their daily operations. Service: Service was great. All the staffers that we interacted with were friendly, attentive (Catherine asked if we wanted to half the burger and milkshake), knowledgeable about the shop and offered great suggestions. Food came out at a decent time. Food Of Choice: 1) Hamburger ($14.50): 1/4 prime beef served with lettuce, pickles, onions (we got the onions grilled), tomato, American cheese, and our homemade 1000 Island dressing. Burger was tasty and the ingredients were quite fresh. Hamburger is kinda pricey, but the quality shows. 2) Hand dipped Milkshake: Very good. They use Thrifty ice cream! We got vanilla ice cream with chocolate. 3) Peach Pie (Slice): Pie was great. You can tell that it's homemade. It is a tad sweet though. Treat yourself once in a while. :) Pie and Burger For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back to try more pies.

Had some time to kill and found this place on a copliot suggestion where to have a breakfast…read moreburrito so I decided to take a chance. It's an '80s vibe diner style with comfy booths. They were pretty busy at 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday but did not wait for a seat. Ordered the $17 burrito and was expecting something to be handheld but they do it ranchera style with red sauce and cheese topped all around it and on the sides and I'm glad they did because it was delicious. Well worth it; I eat burritos half this size for the same price in downtown LA. Ordered a side of hash browns they were solid as well. Only gripe would be that there wasn't much bacon or sausage in it (comes with both but needs more of both.) Melaniya served me proper. This was a great start we'll definitely be back to try the waffles always a gamble finding a crisp one, but they claim it so we will find out soon enough. It's a bit stuffy inside and loud as hell strange for a diner to be this loud but just saying. Still for what I ate it's an easy table pounder five star. Huge parking lot in the back that oddly had more cars than customers.

That's a sign of a great restaurant. When we went in, the servers were welcoming and it was packed on a Friday morning. We waited a few minutes before getting to our table and our server Gabby was the sweetest. She suggested the omelette (I forgot what specific type) and I'm so glad I took her suggestion. My food was awesome, a lot better than I was expecting. At first, I thought my portion was a little small, but I couldn't even finish my plate! The food is filling, flavorful, and everything was perfect. The positive ambience is a reflection of the quality service, food, and overall perspective of this restaurant. I thought it was so beautiful to see a bunch of elderly people coming for a morning mimosa, having coffee, reading, newspapers, and just mingling with each other. It gave me something to look forward to when I get older. I got a little sad when I seen a few elderly people alone. But when I realized maybe they go to Shakers because this is where their community is, I really felt the love. Go check it out, see what I'm talking about. I promise you won't regret it.

I was told that because of the wait I could not be served. So I left. But I will say this. For many years I have come here. And this is the first time I was basically asked to leave. And for that reason I will no longer come to this local restaurant. Thank you- Denny's for this mornings service.

My husband looked up kids eat free Tuesday and we said let's do it! When we got there at 5:30 the place was deserted. There was only one table of four with 2 kids and the us. The restaurant looked like it had been renovated recently. It was nicely appointed and clean. We ordered and three more tables were occupied. There was only one server for the entire restaurant. When we tried getting his attention he did not acknowledge us a couple times and we had to ask for things a couple times. Make the long story short, the food was blah. My husband had a burger. We had four items from the kids menu. I had the Cobb salad. When I went to pay, it was over $100! The food is so so expensive here and so mediocre. They have a $20 burger. That's not the one we got but still. Our tab was over $100 and no kids eat free. He said they stopped doing that weeks ago. Wish I had called before those are $100 I ain't getting back.
