When you enter, they open the door for you, which I thought was lovely. The interior is beautifully decorated. It's a small space, but you don't feel crowded. Service was good. The food was a hit. I had the seafood pasta, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the chicken marsala, which was tender and juicy. We ordered a grilled chicken with rice and bacon jalapeño Mac & cheese to go for my son. O my goodness this place is legit. Staff is all friendly and super attentive. Super cool and laid back vibe. Saw people in a coat and tie and also had t shirts and comfy shorts. The food not a bad bite was had across the table. We had the BLAT loved it. Got the 10oz sirloin with rice pilaf and Mac and cheese. Steak was cooked perfectly and great flavor and the Mac and cheese taste like the best you've ever had from a grandma or aunties house. Decided to drop in after a full day of running errands. Our server was Adam and he was super nice, funny, helpful and gave awesome recommendations for both food and drinks. Everything came out at just the right time - none of that getting the appetizer and two seconds later, the main course is out. We were able to actually socialize, take our time and enjoy one dish, before the other came out. A huge plus as sometimes it seems as though some establishments are rushing you. It didn't feel that way here at all. Also, the manager, Sarah, came out to introduce herself and ask about our experience as she was made aware it was our first time visiting. I thought that was super nice and classy of her to do. Extra points for that! In all, we had an awesome time here and I would definitely recommend if you're in the area to visit. For reference, I had the Spinach and Artichoke dip with bread as an appetizer (super yummy!) and the Turkey Club on a Pretzel Bun with fries (again, yummers!). Everything came out nice and hot and was so delicious. My soda of choice, Coke, was nice and cold and fizzy. No flat soda here! So no, I have no complaints. However, one small thing I have to be honest about: I was a bit taken aback at the hostess when we arrived. There was no "Welcome", "Hello" or even a smile. It did catch me off guard a bit, especially being the first point of contact. We were the only ones walking in at the moment, so I can't even say she was just really busy and rushing. It just seemed as if she didn't want to be bothered. Was she nasty towards us. Not at all. However, I think a simple "Hello" or "Welcome" would go a long way. By the way, I worked in food services and/or retail for a very long time. So I'm not picking. Which is why I didn't remove any stars. I can't give the food a rating because we never got to eat. We stopped by after a long day of shopping and walked in with two groups of people. We anticipated some type of wait however the hostess didn't even acknowledge our presence. After standing there while the entire front staff looked confused on how to seat people, when she finally spoke she said we could be seated in a few minutes. We sat down and waited and after about ten minutes the same lady walked up to us and said "I know you see a lot of tables free but I forgot they're reserved". Excuse me? You forgot? She obviously didn't want us to be there and after that we didn't want to be either. We left. And won't return. read more

This restaurant was inside the Westchase Marriott. The servers were friendly but unfortunately a bit slow. My recommendation is on weekends where there is something going on at the hotel.... Double your waitstaff. The food however was delicious! I had the Salmon Cesar Salad the first night.... Salmon was cooked to perfection and the salad was crisp and fresh with just the right amount of dressing for my taste. The next day for lunch I had the veggie wrap and sweet potato fries. If he hadn't been our server, I maybe would've been happy with the meal, however with the abundance of restaurants in the area, it would've not been likely for me to intentionally return.Jamie made us all want to support this business for years to come, or at the very least make sure to find him wherever he ends up. We drove 120 miles round trip to come and check this place out. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is really nice, elegant but not pretentious. Nice clean decor, lighting, CLEAN restrooms. The staff was amazing, from the hostess, to the waitress, and the management. Top notch. Special shout-out to Courtney our waitress, she was great. Now to the food, couldn't have asked for anything better. We only eat out once a week, after church, and this place hit the spot big time. I had the fried chicken (special for the week), some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The kids plates were great, my wife loves the potato soup and coconut shrimp. We live long ways off but don't mind road-trips if they include great food and service like you will find at republic grille. This is my second time to this location of the Republic Grill. The service was even better than the first time. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It feels cozy without being small. The server recommended the Blacked Flounder and it was a smash hit with me. My husband ordered the ribeye "black and blue" very few places know how to cook this correctly. It came out perfect. I wish I could remember the name of the wine we had it was a cabernet and was smooth with a very nice finish. I have to go back to get the name. I cannot wait to visit again. The bad: we ordered the chips and queso & bruschetta for an appetizer. For lunch I had the chicken fried steak, jalapeño Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. My family member ordered the shrimp and grits which had shrimp that was not deveined. We politely asked the server if they devein their shrimp and he said he'd consult his manager. He returned and told her she could devein it herself or take the shrimp out and they could devein it and bring it back? Seemed like a completely odd request I feel like when you get a dish like this it is normal to just take it back and make it correctly? Once the manager came out to sort the situation out he wasn't very kind or helpful overall. I highly recommend The Republic Grill to anyone who enjoys a good meal. The TRG Top Chop is my favorite but I can honestly say I haven't had a bad meal at The Republic Grill. They make an awesome Old Fashioned and the Martinis are excellent as well. The wait staff is always knowledgeable and attentive without being annoying while trying to enjoy the delicious food. My first visit to this restaurant I must say the Fried Chicken special was great! The chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside with a good buttermilk batter flavor. Mixed veggies and corn bread was tasty as well. I also tried the Coconut Shrimp which were huge and had a excellent flavor as well. Mike was our server he was delightful! Very pleasant, patient and accommodating. The one thing I would change is the restaurant lighting it was too dark for an afternoon lunch.
