The extra star was for the rec from the guy working there. He told me about a secret bar, and it was an amazing experience! He also filled up my water bottle for me. I got the rose milk tea with boba. They didn't have cream cheese, and the guy let me know that they were talking it off the menu entirely. The rose flavor was nice, and the boba were the perfect texture!

Yummy snacks, delicious bubble teas with customizable sweetness (50% sweetness was perfect for us, the strawberry milk tea was the best we've ever had - including drinks in NYC, SF, and HK - and actually tasted natural, and the mango yakult tea was perfectly tangy and fruity), friendly service, nice decor, comfortably low key atmosphere, and lots of board games. I just wish they had more savory/salty foods on the menu.

This is hands-down the best Boba shop in Eugene! I always make a pitstop here when driving through town. The tea is freshly brewed, the pearls are sweet and have a perfect chewy consistency. It gets a little pricey when you tailor your drink (no ice $0.50, substitute with macadamia milk $0.75, pearls $0.75), but worth it!

Powder flavored drinks. Portion is decent but it can be a pain in your butt when the drink is very un-tasty. Nothing decent here.

On our first morning in our new town, we went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. It was a simple meal, but one we were grateful we could afford. When we asked for the check, our server smiled and told us someone had already paid for it. That small act of kindness made me feel like I truly belonged in our new home. It reminded me that even in an unfamiliar place, there were good people who cared about others. Since that day, every time we visit The Original Pancake House, we make it a point to pay it forward whenever we can. It's our way of honoring the kindness that meant so much to us and has stuck with me. Beyond the beautiful memory, the food is incredible. It's hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. Comfort food that tastes like it's made with love. You must try the Dutch baby! The ladies who work there are always so warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. Some restaurants serve great food. This one gave my family hope when we needed it most, and I'll never forget that.

The Original Pancake House in Eugene is a charming, family-friendly spot with genuine warmth and stellar coffee. The casual, lively vibe makes it feel like the proper brunch destination you'd hope for from a legendary breakfast joint. We ordered their hero dish--a side of buttermilk pancakes--and the Irish Omelette. The pancakes delivered real flavor: fluffy, tender, with classic buttermilk tang. My only critique? They arrived cool, likely from sitting in the warmth window a bit too long. Off the griddle, these would shine. The Irish Omelette was more disappointing. Designed to be airy and light with corned beef and potatoes inside, ours was overcooked and rubbery--far from the delightful, pillowy texture it should be. For a restaurant with this history, execution should be consistent. The coffee and service were warm and attentive, which goes a long way. 3/5 stars. Worth visiting for atmosphere, especially if your pancakes arrive hot. Try during slower service to avoid the window-sit fate. The Portland location executes at a higher level.

Fast forward to now, we moved to Veneta not long ago. I had been passing by the truck parked in the lot at Grocery Outlet, and I have been seeing a lot of posts, and activity about the truck on my Facebook. They have some pulled pork taco's topped with strawberries, Serrano cream cheese, spinach, and a balsamic reduction that have definitely caught my eye. Well I finally had a chance to try them out. Let me tell you. They did not disappoint. I wasn't able to get a pic because someone picked them up for me, and I was too hungry to snap pics. Also I had to pick onions off, which was fine. My guy probably forgot to ask for no onion. The flavors with the pulled pork, balsamic glaze, and strawberries really go well together. I thoroughly enjoyed each bite. I can't wait to go back, and try more menu items. The funny thing that happened later on in the day, we went wine tasting...food trucks were brought up, and they said the owners of Iscream for Waffles comes out there. We were told they also own the Zingaro food truck, but it had been out of commission so he purchased the Iscream for Waffles. Well it makes perfect sense now why I see such creative food on the menu. Not that there wasn't before. But the people who owned Zingaro had such great food, and also had creative menu items at the tap house next to Cornucopia when they were there. I do wonder if they run the Yelp. The reviews on here seem outdated. How ever they are pretty current with their social media on Instagram, and Facebook. They have updated hours, and menu items weekly, as well as more than one location. They are in Eugene again, so you don't have to drive all the way out to Veneta. I how ever am pleased to have them here.

She said she can do it as a decaf latte instead and I agreed. It is SO good! It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. You can taste banana and cinnamon, perfectly balanced. I was worried the banana flavor would be fake tasting but it's not, it tastes like real bananas. I also got the Sasquatch sushi because I had to know what it was and it was amazing. It's a pbj with banana, in sushi form! It's such a cool idea and tasted fantastic. My partner was also super entertained by it and he loved it too. We were happy to see that while they were fairly busy, they were quick to put together a table to accommodate us right away. Located within a small strip type mall in South Eugene, parking is relatively easy. This local family business is open 7 days a week from 7am to 2pm. They offer their full menu which includes both breakfast and lunch items all day. In addition to American breakfast classics they offer Mexican-inspired dishes such as Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles. Our server came by and welcomed us and took our drink orders. In addition to the natural offerings of coffee and assorted juices they offer specialty coffees ranging from a standard iced coffee to white mochas, cappuccinos, dirty chai tea latte's and Mexican mochas. As we began to peruse the menu we immediately noticed their prices are extremely reasonable, which is always appreciated. Everything on the menu sounded really yummy and we each made our selections. Our table ordered items including the Linguica Scramble, Pancakes, and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. The restaurant had a good steady stream of customers but they appeared to be able to handle the amount of people and we didn't notice anyone wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated. We also observed a good amount of to-go/Door Dash traffic. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious. We each enjoyed our meals and we understand why my brother-in-law made the suggestion. If you are visiting the U of O campus or are in Southwest Eugene, check out South Hills Cafe!
