French toast is special. Great place... All the tables are cool antiques. Staff is friendly. I recommend this for anyone looking for breakfast or lunch. read more

Try the stuffed French toast if you have a sweet tooth! Steak or regular Breakfast burrito with Chile verde is as big as your head and delicious. Tends to be very busy on the weekends, larger parties may have a bit of a wait. read more

I love getting a table on the porch on sunny days and getting the potato pancakes. Perfect. Staff is so friendly too.

Breakfast is normally good, but their hash browns are TERRIBLE! I always ask for them extra crispy and it seems I get them back raw, or next to it. You'd think I'd learn. read more

Great food in a fun atmosphere. Wait staff are very friendly and responsive to your every need.

I'm only giving two stars, because three stars says "A-Ok." I had a breakfast burrito, deconstructed. However, it was a bit too deconstructed, the cheese was served on the side in a plastic portion cup. Canned salsa served in a portion cup. The tortilla was not even warmed. All sides are served here in plastic portion cups, even syrup for pancakes. Also, the hashbrowns were only browned on one side. The meal was quite disappointing, and I'm afraid I won't be going back. read more

We really enjoyed this place! Yummy food, fast food service, funny/friendly staff, great atmosphere. The tables weren't crammed together and awkward like a lot of breakfast joints. The pancakes were HUGE and my 3 yr old was a big fan. Easy to find and park too. We'll visit this one again next time we are in EUG/SF area. read more

If you looking for a huge yummy breakfast, this the best place. They have lots of antiques laying around which is entertaining to look at. Service was good. Didn't like their coffee thou. It tasted very bad. read more

I can honestly say, that we would not consider returning to this establishment after our first visit. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were required to wait due to a heavy business level. We read from the wait that we would likely be very happy with the visit. After about 15 minutes we were seated, given menus with water pitchers (no ice-tepid), and worked at deciding on our orders. We waited nearly 15 minutes to order, as our server twice passed the table to let us know that she would be right back to help us. After placing our order, which took awhile for my kids as, not once, but twice, they didn't have the menu item available that they had asked for, we began our long wait. I had ordered coffee which during a 45 minute wait, I had to ask for a refill. Twice the server came by to say that our food was almost prepared followed by another 12 minute wait. I excuse myself to retreat to the horribly dirty men's room with the statement to my family that if the food isn't here when I return that I am going to pack it up. Fortunately I come back to a table with our order served. Unfortunately, it was less than the built up expectation that we had been expecting. My breakfast (Hog omelette) was basic. My family's food, described by them as under seasoned and basic. The only person somewhat moved by their meal was my daughter who opted for the stuffed French toast. After the long wait, we only had to ask for my wife's salad that she had requested, and I never received my toast and simply said,"I just don't even care at this point". After finally getting the chance to let the server know she took the cost off. Funny part is, if I didn't want my food, I would have never walked in the door. It's okay though, if she wanted a gratuity, she would have provided service. Let me wrap it up for you. Service- 1 star Wait time-1 Star Food- average, basic and bland, certainly nothing to warrant a return visit. Cost- 1 coffee, 5 waters, with failed toast discount, total of 5 entrees- over $65. So over $13 a person for a cheeseburger, a specialty burger, an omelette, fish (cod) and chips, and stuffed French toast. In my opinion- way too much. Must be the greasy spoon atmosphere with literally hundreds of Knick knacks, model planes and cars littering the place that we are paying for. My advice, at least clean the ridiculously heavy fuzz build up off of the bathroom walls; so disgusting. read more

All American type of breakfast joint. Nothing stood out as extremely unique or anything but the food was good and the restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly as well. read more

Cute place but the food is extremely basic, almost not as good as just making it at home. I understand that people enjoy going out for basic cafe breakfast but I personally wish the area had something with pizazz, as far as bfast. Overall just fine. Prices are awfully high for what it is and that's what'll keep me from going there after about the 5th time going. read more

My sister n I come here often. I love the service here & the food is great. Perfect breakfast spot.

The food is really good, but the service is wonderful. Very friendly wait staff. Sometimes there's a vegetarian soup option.

I've been here quite a few times the food is always super good but they seem to not wipe the tables or sweep/mop the floors. I also have seen multiple little things floating in my water and the silverware is usually not clean. read more

This is a cute little diner with all the breakfast and lunch food you'd expect. Surprisingly intimate setting considering it's a diner with a zillion decorations, very friendly wait staff. I would definitely come back here, read more

This is a great breakfast place. I eat here every time I'm in the Springfield area. The atmosphere is casual with a gas station/auto motif. The stuffed French toast is fabulous. Value for the price is good and the people are friendly. read more

The food was good, Service was good, People were very nice. The place is clean, the place is comfortable, the prices are good. Perfect in my world. First visit. They have been there almost 20 years so they must be something right. read more

What a delightful find. This repurposed gas station has wonderful food, great service and an eclectic interesting decor. The breakfast burrito with house made green chile sauce is wonderful. It's definitely enough to share. The corned beef also house made is well spiced, not greasy and delicious. It was recommended to us by a local person and we were very happy that we came. We will be back as soon as we are not so full. read more

The staff can be pretty friendly, but they don't stick around long enough to talk to. Service is a little slow, even when they're not busy. Their fries were sort of saggy, but their club sandwich was delicious. My husband liked the flavor of his burger, but wound up getting it made well-done instead of medium like asked for. The decor inside the place is welcoming and interesting to look at while you wait for your food. The parking could definitely be changed, if possible, and same with the hours of operation. I just find it hard to eat at places that are mostly only open during the morning time. It was an okay experience. Nothing too amazing, though. read more

Raspberry stuffed French toast was amazing it is sweet so order some sausage or eggs to go with it ! Can't wait to visit again!

Stopped in on a Saturday morning while in town for swim meet. Great atmosphere and service. I had the raspberry French toast, with sausage and hash browns. My wife had the biscuits and gravy. The place was pretty busy at 9:30. The French toast was great and sausage patty was large. However biscuits and gravy was cold, sent back, and cold again. Another customer table over had same experience. Needless to say ours didn't get but a bite. My wife shared my food. So.. Don't order biscuits and gravy. Unfortunately we have a lot of other choices in Eugene/Springfield, so won't go back... read more

Great place for lunch & I've heard their breakfasts are good too. Last time we were there, they were going to be starting weekend evening service - they showed us the menu for dinner & it looked interesting though somewhat limited (makes sense if they are just starting evening service). Some other reviews have said their service is slow, but that hasn't been my experience unless there're super busy. Again, that makes sense to me - wait for a table = probably wait a little longer for your food. read more

Just really like this place. Decor is funky nice, friendly service, and excellent food. Had a California omelet - delicious. Will certainly be back. read more

Good food and antique atmosphere. Had the Titan and it was delicious. Very busy during lunch hour.

I really like this place for comfort food. My boss and I found it and he insisted it was good. He was right.

Just had the WORST French Dip sandwich. Soggy bread, cold meat, non existent au jous....wtf? Add superficial service to the mix and.... forget it, The Pump are on their way down...avoid at all costs. read more

Although the parking lot is tiny and on their heavy business days you might feel a bit cramped in the main dining room - these are two things that absolutely never distract from the things that matter. The service is always perfectly attentive and the food always arrives in the perfect amount of time. I have heard complaints about the service being slow and people having to wait for their food but it is not fast food. The wait time is always entirely appropriate for a sit-down restaurant, especially considering the high volume of diners. Their food has never disappointed me and is good enough for a second portion if I have a light appetite or to fill me up perfectly when I'm starving. Minor things like having a small parking lot or feeling cramped when they are extremely busy should not discourage anyone from eating at this fine restaurant. During the summer time their outdoor seating is absolutely wonderful. read more

I've been to the pump cafe twice now! And both times I was pleasantly surprised with just how great it was. The atmosphere in there is just plain adorable and really relaxing and peaceful. The food has just an amazing, fresh and homemade taste to it even though most their items are pretty simple (their pancakes are great! And I've heard the French toast is amazing). Pump cafe is just simply a great, homey place, definitely going to be coming here more often for breakfast/lunch during school! :) read more

Awesome food, atmosphere and service! Homemade deliciousness in abundance. The prices definitely reflect the quality--it's a bit higher than your standard diner. It's totally worth it. It's not the ultimate breakfast experience, but it's pretty damn good. And for being in Springfield, it's ah-mah-zing! read more

Good food nice people...doesnt have anything super special compared to any other small restaurant. Fair prices.. I would recomend trying it out! read more

Darling venue. I had the Meditteranean omelet, friend has corned beef hash, both yummy. Friendly, efficient wait staff. Definitely a keeper want to go back for halibut at lunch. read more

The perfect hole in the wall breakfast place you've always been looking for. Large portions and cheap prices -- 20 dollars for the 3 of us -- helped lead to a 4 star rating in my book. The bacon was a rare steaming hot and was made fresh to order. A great atmosphere inside with friendly people and good service. The only issue was some luke warm and mushy hash browns but in the world of breakfast, it is quite difficult to find perfect hash browns. Definitely a place to visit again. -034 read more

After two years of absence, we decided to try this restaurant again. In our absence we found new owners now run the place. The same waiter we had problems with in the past is still there but now doing a very good job at service. The unfriendly attitude seems gone now. The food is good but we do miss the friendly former owner who used to circulate among the patrons and make you feel welcome. Dan F. read more
