When the management of the place is cheap it is not for me We bought 2 breakfasts, coffee and large tea. I always have tea with milk and I was happy to discover that the place have Paris tea that I recently learned to appreciate, so I ordered large cup with milk. The tea back size is might be good for small cup, but it will definitely be not enough to give only one tea bag for large tea, so I asked for one more tea bag and the seller wanted to charge me for that full price for an extra cup!!! Not extra dollar but for one extra tea. Seriously?!?! I asked them to make a new tea for me in a small cup, because this is just a water that is not even colored well, and the guy took the cup and after 10 minutes said that he will make a new cup only if I will stand again in the line again. I took the money back. Thanks but this place not for me. And no I do not suggest this place to anyone else, there are plenty nice places out there with very good service , go there!!! read more

Oh lord, 5/5. I have never tried anything here I didn't like. Everything here is solid. Their chicken is so tender, their waffles so fluffy, their sandwiches are mmmm. The best thing is you can customize the waffle toppings(in or out), and of course the wraps and sandwiches like any other deli. But the difference is that you can tell the ingredients they use here are fresh which leads to a pretty delicious meal! read more

Great atmosphere with nice decor, Food was good wasn't sure how the buttered their waffle maker as one was burned and the other wasn't but had a very distinct butter flavor Chicken was perfect. Poughkeepsie Grind. - 5 Stars We thought it would be a nice leisurely drive from NYC to Rochester New York. This was a great find through the Yelp app. It was just a little off our optimum route but so worth it. We are coffee enthusiasts (read snobs) and aren't interested in just getting the caffeine and the PKG didn't disappoint. The coffee was on point and my daughter especially liked her Chai and the super-secret off menu item that they make with the Chai. I won't divulge the secret, you have to go there, to get a sample of it. So surprisingly tasty. The Pastries aren't house made and that is all we had room for, but they were top notch. The house made menu looked really cool. Lots of innovative items that would make this a morning/lunch destination for sure if we ever get up this Hudson River drive in the future. The owner was behind the bar serving up the drinks and making us feel right at home. He gave us a bunch of tips on what to see in the area and where to go. These small businesses are what gives life to the small towns and cities. Friendly hard working people bringing a unique sensibility to the business community and PKG fit that picture perfectly. The pricing was what I have come to expect in the New York area for espresso and milky based drinks. This small shop might night be the best place to bring a big group of people, but the speed of service would get a small group in and out pretty quick. The handful of tables are sure to satisfy the lingerer just fine. The nearby shops and local sights are within easy walking distance. My main disappointment was that we didn't get to have a real meal here and that they didn't have stickers. Man do I love my coffee place stickers. read more

One of the best kept secrets in gourmet coffee in Poughkeepsie. Well the way the lines are in the morning I'm sure it is not a secret. The Grind gives me a delightful coffee experience to my hectic mornings. They often brag about the Sumantra blend but I particularly love the Honduras and Guatemalan blend, and recently I tried an African blend that was DELICIOUS. I do love the waffles as well, I have had the chocolate, the red velvet, and the Monte Crisco, but my favorite one is the Classic Waffle! I was honestly expecting more of a restaurant from the reviews, but it's much smaller, and more of a café with limited seating. I'm not holding that against them though. My bad. I ordered the bacon egg n cheese sandwich, and the bread that it came on was amazing. Soft and fluffy with just enough crust around the outside to hold it all together. The bacon was chopped up nice so that when you bit in, you didn't pull away a huge slab of bacon, which I appreciated. My kids ordered donuts and drinks, and my wife got an omelet. I am a huge fan of their espresso at The Poughkeepsie Grind. Seriously, its really the best I've had in the area. There are a few other places that I will patronize for specialty, espresso-based beverages (because they're also very good) but I feel TPG is the BEST tasting, overall. Beverages like lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos are generally rather expensive, no matter where you get them. But, I don't mind paying in upwards of $5.00 for a 12 ounce hot beverage if when I take the first sip, I'm muttering "ummmmmm" to myself, like I do when I get one from here. I'm never disappointed. These guys really know the proper way to compose those speciality drinks, no doubt. I've had some poorly executed lattes at several different places over the years (and thus, felt 'ripped-off'), but never, ever here. I've also had some breakfast sandwiches at TPG and they're really tasty, as well, and the cooks do NOT skimp on the stuff they put between the bread! :) Good value! read more

I've lived around the area for a few years and had been told to try this place out but never got around to it. In the past 2 months, I've now gone twice. Both times I was extremely underwhelmed with my experience at the establishment. Before I even order, I know I'm about to overpay for mediocrity, but I figure maybe it's not as bad as it seems. When ordering, they were out of almost everything both times. They offered substitutions that left the sandwiches being much smaller than they were supposed to be. I then asked if they could take the price down since we wouldn't be getting as much food and the barista looked at me like I asked for his social security number before rudely saying, "uhhh, no?" The food then came dry and tasted like your college roommates leftovers after a night of heavy drinking that led to an excursion at 24-hour diner. Simply put, I love this place! While on vacation in Poughkeepsie this was my morning wake me up. I ordered my go-to morning beverage , a vanilla latte with an extra shot and a hash brown. The latte was perfect! Not too sweet, but sweet enough to hide the bitterness from an extra espresso shot. Sooooo good! My boyfriend got his basic on with a PSL and he was pleasantly pleased. I was so excited about my drink that I forgot about my hash brown for almost an hour. Strangely enough, it was still awesome. We went back the next day for another morale boost before our long drive back to Massachusetts. I was so impressed that I grabbed some coffee to take home with me. The coffee is so wonderful that it deserves its on paragraph. I got their Are You Afraid of the Dark Roast and it might be the best caffeine I've ever had. They ground it to my liking right there in the store and the fragrance filled up the car, which was a nice change from the cannabis smell. It's very strong coffee. When I finally got home to try said coffee, my whole day changed. It's strong and savory like other Sumatra blends, but there is zero of the acid you can get when drinking strong blends. The potent beans wake you up, but not in an overwhelming way. Just nice, clean, easy drinking. I've since ordered another 3lbs to my house and by the way we've been drinking it, we'll need another 3 soon. Quite possibly the world's best coffee! read more

This place used to be the best. the best!! The owner was very friendly and used to always be there. The chicken and waffles were great. Now there seems to be an issue every time I try to order. They say you can pickup orders until 2pm and their online system takes the order and your $$. While I was on my way to pick it up they called and said they ran out of food and that technically I missed the 1:30 deadline to order and that they would refund my online payment. I just went to get a copy of the refund receipt that says it was processed at 1:26. Now I have to wait days to be reimbursed by the 3rd party service they use. Get your shit together!! Learn how to update your ordering system or don't take online orders. It's only $20 but I shouldn't have to hunt it down due to their error. I will update as to how long it takes to get my $20.91 back. read more

I can't condone the cafe for the parking because it's in a city in New England, which that means parking is horrendous no matter where you are. The cafe itself was tiny but adorable, plenty of seats to sit at, but I can see easily if it would be full do to its fair pricing and really yummy food. The portions are huge! Small location that looks like a coffee shop mostly but they have food options too...we came late in the morning for brunch. Wife got the fruit waffles which I sampled. Nice and fluffy. Very tasty. I got the omelette to order - cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage and mushrooms. It was very good. And the coffee was good as well. I can see why this place gets 5 stars. You have to park on the street and need to pay the meter. It's 25 cents per 15 mins with 2 hour max...so a dollar an hour. read more
