Bobby and co behind the desk are great. And postal chase is why I've never needed to buy a printer or a shredder. Since I work from home, this is a real bonus for me. And the prices are not only reasonable, they're set by the shipping companies. No idea what other folks are complaining about. I just went to buy a box for a UPS return. It was $25 (TWENTY FIVE) dollars out the door. It was a 12x12x36 box. I couldn't believe it. $5 of that was for taping and tax. They just lost a customer. read more

I go on weekday afternoons and have never had to wait for service. Super friendly and helpful. I mostly use them for shredding, only $1/lb. That's as low as I've seen anywhere in the city. This place is absolutely terrible, the people are snotty, and they nickel and dime you for everything. I asked to ship the package I was holding and was told I need to pay to print my label, which I did, and then was told after I paid to print my label, that my box was too large to ship... I bought that box from them the day before. As someone who's worked in customer service, I understand the rough days. But the rudeness level at this location goes above and beyond. I've visited this place more than a dozen times, and there's always something that prevents me from accomplishing what I come to do. Examples: The printer is on the fritz, or they don't take USPS packages over a certain size or in a certain kind of box, or they've run out of FedEx labels that allow me to bill my company, they don't take UPS at all... I really want to like this place, but it always feels like I'm wasting my time there. They always have an excuse for everything instead of solutions. I've used shipping, packaging and fax services at The Postal Chase for many years. Today, some young guy who seemed to want to be anywhere except behind the counter sloppily faxed documents with personal identifying information including SSN, DOB, address, phone number and more TO THE WRONG FAX NUMBER He said the "9" I wrote looked like a "5". Trust me, it didn't. He didn't care, either. If you value your information and don't want your SSN and other important, forever information falling into the wrong hands, avoid! Doesn't take USPS Flat rate envelopes which is annoying, but they have taken every other type of package I have brought in! They offer printing services, perfect for those with no printers! They also offer office supplies and boxes for all your shipping needs. I also got a cute card and some stamps for my mom there, so check out their card selection! read more

Heidi was very helpful. I had a very complicated international shipment. she explained the process and obtained all the information needed for the shipment without any complaints. I wasn't aware that it was a huge process but she was very helpful and I will be coming back in the future. Another plus; no long lines like the Post Office!! read more

Is it legal to charge someone extra for stamps? Beware, this place charges 10 cents over the normal asking price of stamps. I was surprised and asked the staffer about it. I love supporting local business, especially during this very challenging time when so many businesses have had to shut their doors, possibly to never reopen again. Well "NEVER" will I return to this business. Out taking a walk, I noticed they were open and I knew they sold cards. Is this "Essential" no, but it is part of their inventory which is for sale. I walked to the counter to make my purchase and thanked the individual for being open. His response, we are only open for "Essential" business, but folks are coming in to buy cards, as did I. I was quite taken aback, frankly. So I said, hm, would you like me to return this? His response no. On my way out I said "a sale is a sale and income is income"! Not even a thank you for supporting them ! Had he said, I'm sorry I cannot sell that to you right now, my attitude would have been completely different. I just called to find out how late they were open at which point the person said we are only open for "essential purchases, if it can wait, wait"! If you don't want to sell things that are not considered "essential" put them in the back room. I still feel like I want to go back and return my $4.33 purchase, screw them...... read more

This place is GREAT and the people who work there are kind, helpful and friendly! They sign for and keep my packages safe. That's worth every penny. Where else are you going to get that? In San Francisco, this is a necessity. And honestly, I'm thankful a place like this exists because it saves me a ton of headaches - especially worrying about my deliveries. It's not a bargain - you pay for convenience and the service and IMO it's well worth it. I'm really surprised by the reviews here, because I have had nothing but excellent experiences for the past two years. I have a mailbox here and they receive my packages regularly, and all of the people who work there are so lovely and helpful. I'm also an artist and ship my paintings from them, and they always treat them with respect and help me with figuring out the best and cheapest way to get them to their destinations. And sometimes nicely package them up for me. The prices are higher than going to the Post Office, but that's to be expected for the convenience and also that it's a private business and they need to make a profit to survive. I came here initially buying shipping materials trying to support a small business, rather than one of the big box stores. The items were probably double or triple priced what I would have paid at Home Depot or Lowes. I bought too much shipping supplies for my move, so I brought some of my materials back for return 4 days later. I came here and waited for a few minutes while the owner was working on his computer right infront of me completely ignoring that I was there. I provided the receipt and was polite, and immediately the owner had an extreme attitude with me. He let me know that he didn't have the money in the till (even though I saw it), and since I made the purchase on a credit card and more than 2 days had passed that I was "shit out of luck." I understand that times are tough, but at the end of the day I chose to support his business upfront over others, and this should have been reciprocated. If there was nothing he could do, he could have at least been polite. I left there with a bitter taste, and will not go back. They lost my items and had TERRIBLE customer service. I shipped a few packages recently, two of which I didn't have a box for. I had one very large item and one smaller. I came in and asked to buy and box and ship my package. I paid for the box and shipping, they took my items and placed them on the counter where I assumed they would package them. A week later my package arrived but only the large item was shipped. I asked recipient to check the box and they were confident nothing else was in there. I just went back to the store to ask about my missing item. The guy there instead of helping me decided to argue with me about the event. He wouldn't look for the package, he wouldn't look up the number, he would not refund any of the packaging or shipping, and showed no sympathy for losing a package. His responses did include - The person you sent this to should have looked in the package more. - I'm the only one who works here, I touch every package. - I don't make mistakes. - I'm not going to look, it's not here. I honestly wouldn't have even take the time to review this experience had the worker not been so hostile towards me. He could have at least pretended to help me find something that was obviously important to me. Don't ship your things from here. This guy is the only one who works there, he will touch package, he might loose, and he will not give a shit. read more

They take fedex only (not USPS OR UPS) and the employees couldn't care less about anything. The amount of backlash I got for saying "can I please dropoff UPS here?". I try to support small businesses but this place is everything that's wrong with a small businesses. I come from a big Armenian family, so I can hang with big Armenians. OK, maybe I can't really "hang" with them, but I don't have a problem hanging around Armenians, as long as I can continue to reserve the right to criticize my own Americanized people for their overall tackiness. And don't think I haven't been doing this for decades. Long before anyone knew who the Kardashians were (and I have family members who are related to them way back), I was annoyed by how so many Armenian-Americans of the Persian persuasion seemed to be giving the rest of us a bad name. But there are no longer any arguments to have or even to be made; we've lost. I can't name a year in particular, but when skinny white girls started wearing big glasses and carrying ridiculous purses with gold crap hanging off of them circa 2007, I cringed, because America as I had known it had died. OK, only some of the humble parts had died. The gaudy, in-your-face, love-it-or-leave-it (unless you were leaving it for tax purposes, which was still A-OK to Republicans for some reason) bits had remained, and maybe had gotten worse. So I was happy when The Postal Chase opened. In case you didn't know, this used to be the Post-All Center. The Post-All Center was run by a nice guy who apparently got into financial trouble and began doing shady things until he eventually skipped town, leaving a lot of people in the lurch. The former Post-All Center sat vacant for years, until the local chain The Postal Chase revived it. And that's where Armenians come in. The former guy (the supposed swindler) wasn't Armenian, I don't think. He could have been, and he did go to Lake Tahoe, which makes me wonder whether he was, but I have no definitive proof of his Armenianness. I do know, however, or I believe strongly, that one of the new The Postal Chase employees is Armenian, and she's good at her job. Better than the other person working here, who was nice but a little bit clueless. My copying went smoothly. Since I have easy access to a copier at work, I don't think I'll use The Postal Chase as much as I used the Post-All Center, but who knows? I just like hanging with the big Armenians, whom I hope to see much more of. read more

Wishing I could give this place zero stars! The dark curlyhaired woman just told me "fuck you bitch you don't have to come here... Kinkos charges $5.." Then she threatened to release my personal information (stuff I printed). So I refused to pay the petty $1.60. It's silly this all happened because I was questioning the dollar laptop fee. That woman crossed the line and I hope is fired for behaving so inappropriately to customers... I don't care if you're having a bad day or not. The copy place on divis between haight and page also charges a dollar for laptop use and only .10 instead of .15 and as a bonus they are very kind to their customers! What a concept! read more

Two and a half stars really. They aren't a UPS dropoff so why do they come up in a search for UPS dropoff? Maybe this is Yelp's fault, but the woman behind the counter of Postal Chase was barely civil about it. They also don't do certified mail. They do Fedex (which is useful) and DHL (which is terrible). What they do have is a ton of random tourist postcards. So Postal Chase better than nothing, but I really wish we had a full-fledged shipping center in our neighborhood. read more

This is a one star business but it gets an extra star because the woman who has been working there during COVID always has a good attitude and is performing an essential service. Despite her valiant efforts, I suggest looking for an alternative if you need a service to accept packages. They have given us packages belonging to other people (which we have returned), improperly tacked packages, and told us that packages that were delivered according to UPS tracking were not delivered. And they have limited store hours during the pandemic (while also increasing prices). read more

I don't enjoy giving negative reviews and usually give a place the benefit of the doubt if I ever have a negative experience, but this was unacceptable. I called the shop shortly before closing time and asked if they'd stay open a few minutes longer as I was right down the street. The attendant (Rich?) asked if I could come in tomorrow and I politely stated that I was going to be at work all day the next day and it would be a great favor if he could stay open a few minutes longer. He promptly and politely said "come on by." I thanked him sincerely and rushed over. I arrived at 6:04PM to find the store had been completely closed up already with registers and lights turned off and the gate pulled down and locked. Not a soul inside. Obviously he'd closed up at the normal time with no intention of waiting for me. The item I was bringing to be shipped were very bulky and it was a lot of work to hustle down there quickly. I don't mind that the place couldn't stay open late. However it is unacceptable to essentially prank your customer into showing up to a closed store. For shame The Postal Chase. For shame. read more
