We typically go to the UPS store on Post and Webster but mistakenly sent a pick up to the Fillmore location and immediately regretted it because our one other experience was the same; impolite, rude, and callous store clerk. Hopeful that since years had passed our experience would be different but unfortunately it was not. We simply stopped in to pick up a package and were unpleasantly greeted by the male store clerk. His general demeanor and the way he spoke to us and other customers was impolite and rude. My recommendation to the male store clerk is to cease all interaction with customers. You can suffer in your own sadness but don't spew your misery onto others. My recommendation to anyone considering using this UPS store is to stay away, and instead give your service and money to the location at Post/Webster. One of the guys who works here has terrible customer service to the point that it makes the interaction uncomfortable. I walked in and said hello and he didn't even bother to look my direction or say hello back. He took his sweet time finishing something up (no other customers were there mind you) and then just grabbed the scanner without saying a word, blank faced, expecting me to understand what I need to do. On January 3rd around 4pm I created a label on the UPS website and got a QR code on my phone for sending a package. I came over to the store and asked the clerk to send a package. I showed the clerk the QR code and his response was, "This is an Amazon QR code, not UPS. You'll need to go to Amazon for that," which was false. I got the QR code on UPS' website, NOT Amazon. I replied, "This QR code is from UPS' website." The clerk insisted: "No, it's an Amazon QR code, not UPS. I can't help you." Very politely, I explained: "Look on my phone, the website is www.ups.com, not Amazon," but the guy refused to look at the facts. After many back-and-forths, the guy said, "Let me try scanning this QR code," and that worked obviously, and the guy said, "Oh, they changed it. Now I can scan QR codes from the UPS website," not apologizing or explaining his delusional behavior. read more

Charged me a dollar for a piece of tape to close a box. I've been to dozens and dozens of ups stores over decades I've never experienced a ruder staff, and a more ridiculous policy. Called on 3/5/24 around 11:30am, a male answered the phone and put me on hold and never came back to answer the phone!!! I hung up after 30mins! The reason I called was because I gave my pre-labeled package on Sunday, the female agent told me to leave it at the desk and too lazy to take the package from my hand even I was handing it to her. Anyhow I was expecting UPS ground would pick up on Monday so the tracking will start to kick in, but nothing, so I called on Tuesday, that was when I was on hold for 30minutes for nothing. And then I called late afternoon, a male answered the phone, I asked if UPS has come by & picked up all ground packages yesterday(Monday), the male answered rudely that they have pick ups daily, I know that's what they are supposed to (M-F), the thing is I dropped it off on Sunday and if they did came by on Monday and picked up everything then my shipment must have been picked up and started tracking but there's nothing, then he changed his answer to it will take a day or two. The only people this store is nice to are the entitled residents of pac heights who rent PO Boxes from them. If you're under the age of 60, they treat you like you were born yesterday. If and when I feel like being treated like an idiot by condescending regulars and store employees, this is my store of choice. Got some old dudes standing in your way while you've got your handful hauling packages in? Well, how would it be their fault? fire code? never heard of her. Ask them to move? How dare you. In a hurry because you have a job and responsibilities and just want to drop off a pre-labeled package, how dare you treat this store like a service for your convenience. Just avoid this place. UPS on post in Japantown and UPS on Franklin are both staffed by genuinely kind clerks who are trying to make things convenient for you and not trying to make you feel like you've completely failed at life because you didn't spend your whole day thinking about how to ship a package. read more

I like this friendly store. Why, because they came running down the street after me when they discovered another package that just arrived for my neighbor. Talk about service! I have learned myself not to listen to an Amazon or Macy's notification that the package was delivered because the STORE still has to check it in and they have lots of packages to deal with. You will get a separate notification from THEM. Nevertheless they were kind enough, on a less busy day, to cheerfully look for my small package. Thank you! And when a package was a little bulkier and heavier, they brought it out to hubby who was waiting outside during Covid. Only 2 allowed inside and they have a big container of sanitizer. I have never had a bad experience with UPS until my first time at this location last Friday. I dropped off a return package and a week later my tracking status is still stuck at "UPS doesn't have possession of the package yet". I called and I emailed but every time they just say "everything leaves here at the end of the day" and tells me to wait and maybe it'll update tmr or call the corporate number they know where the package is (they don't know). The UPS employee then told me to "Go to GOOGLE and type in UPS Claims Portal. Then go to File a claim." instead of idk maybe providing the link or try to be any ways helpful or apologetic? But NO, all caps GOOGLE. Also, they have no idea what they're talking about because in my situation it's the sender that has to file the claim. Have never seen an UPS that's so incompetent, or has worse attitude. If you want any semblance of customer service do not go to this UPS. read more

UPS is probably the most useless postal service in existence... I do not think that I have ever received a package on time from them. Most recently- I had an electronic device being delivered to my home address (required a signature). The tracking information stated "out for delivery" at 9:22 AM with no updates and for the entire day that status never changed. I missed multiple events as I sat looking for the driver to make sure I got this package. Now it is evening and still no driver in site. I guess I'm not too surprised but, I've never had a positive experience with UPS. read more

I'm so thankful that this neighborhood establishment exists. First of all, the store's location is conveniently located right on Fillmore Street. The hours of operation are early and late enough on weekdays so that I can get my pesky mail related chores done. I also appreciate that they are open on weekends. First the notary Mario insisted he was not authorized to acknowledge previously signed docs, despite professional guidance otherwise. Then after 5 minutes and without explaining why, he suddenly changed his mind. I had to re-sign and re-date all docs in his presence, which is actually unneeded*. I needed to return a used iPhone to Verizon for a trade in. I brought it here in a box inside a mailer with a prepaid UPS shipping label on it. Just to provide a little extra protection. I thought I might buy a small box to put it inside. I figured it might cost a couple dollars. The helpful sales clerk did some calculations and said that the cost would be over $14 "for packing." I have just researched the cost of a 6" x 4" x 2" box. They are about 50 cents on Amazon. I walk in to drop off a prepaid, prepackaged box since I was in the neighborhood on another errand to see Tim Blake Nelson in full UPS garb behind the counter. Scratch that. Let me rephrase. I see Tim Blake Nelson in a bad mood in full UPS garb. I placed the box on the counter and told him it was a drop off. He made me move it to the other side of the counter on the scale. No problem, my bad. I said, "oh, I'm sorry." He scowls and asks what's in it. Huh? What the heck? What does it matter what's in it? "A scooter," I replied anyways. I wait for my receipt and he continues interrogating me with, "is it electric? Does it have a motor?" I look down at the tiny box and replied, "oh..! no. Just a Razor for kids." He bangs on the screen, prints out a receipt, tears it off badly (like all crooked with part of the previous and next receipt attached to it), and, get this: FLINGS it at me. We're less than three feet apart. Flings. FLINGS! I'm stunned. I pick up my "receipt" and walk out. I put quotes because it had the perforations both top and bottom still attached to it. I play the entire scenario in my head as I get Blue Bottle next door and I mention it to the cashier as I place my order. You know, just to hear it out loud. I mention that sure I expect some snootiness in this neighborhood, but that was something else! The cashier replied, "yeah, that guy is a jerk. Everyone complains about him." Huh. So this is the 3rd time I have used them and something has gone terribly wrong. I stupidly always request for next day air and pay a stupid amount. Yesterday I went in after work to send a package and it was a medium box more on the smaller side. I was charged 132$ for next day air. Cool. I got the email with tracking number and I tried to use it but there was no information. So now it's almost 24hrs since I sent the package and I went to the ups website to track the package and there was no information still. I called to see what was going on and I was repeatedly asked if I sent it through them if I was sure. This is frustrating. Then they say they'll call me back. This is super frustrating and I'm hoping to hear back from them cause it's a constant struggle with this store. I'm hoping the manager reaches out. The last few times they have refunded me but the process of that is hectic and as a frontline worker, my time is precious and limited so there is simply no energy to argue and fight. I want to start off by saying that I don't normally write bad reviews, but going to this store could have pretty serious consequences, especially if you need to pick up anything valuable. I got a package shipped here via USPS, to pick up a few days after it arrived. It's advertised on the website and my friends have done it before, so it seemed like a pretty simple thing. When I rolled up there, the guy at the counter couldn't find it. I was there for around 20 minutes, standing there, watching the staff dig around the back for a package that they should've had. I had a fairly unpleasant experience here yesterday. I came in at 5:30 to receive notary services. My mother died in 2020 after the pandemic started. After much grief, we are finally selling her beloved house as we are unable to keep it in the family. I needed to notarize the deed authorizing the sale. I called the store in advance to check when services were available. The voicemail said the store was open until 6:30 and that notary services were available at all hours. I thought showing up 1 hour in advance would be sufficient for this process. When I got to the cashier, she immediately expressed frustration that I had shown up at that time as the store closed at 6. I apologized and shared how I had intentionally checked the voicemail so as to avoid any undue rush. She continued to be rude during the entire, sensitive transaction. In addition to the notary services. I paid for printing of 4 pages along with a copy of my drivers license. She forgot to include the copy of my license and the final of the 4 pages, which was the USPS shipping label. I understand these are stressful times, but I am sharing this to encourage staff to exercise more sensitivity. My transaction took no longer than a woman mailing two return packages next to me, yet she did not experience the same visible frustration and poor service. read more

Update: the owner and manager were extremely responsive with reimbursing me for the damages. They called UPS on my behalf to initiate the claim and were extremely apologetic, which goes a long way. They were in contact with me very often to update the status of the claim. UPS is reviewed and processed the claim, so I'm going to get a new frame now! Nice ending! Review is for an item (large painting in glass frame) that this store packaged and arrived damaged. Poor packaging and no "Fragile" sticker placed on outside package. The glass was jiggling in the box when it arrived. Now, I need to file a claim and figure out how to open the box with broken glass. Thankfully, I had the smarts to have it insured, but will see the outcome of the claim. read more

I came here on Saturday to get a document notarized. The store is small and only one person was working (Allen), at least when we came in. Allen was great! Although he was preoccupied when we walked in, he still acknowledged our presence and let us know he'd be right with us. Allen was extremely patient with me, considering I didn't read the directions thoroughly and my passport had expired (oppsie)! He explained the difference between an authorized rep requirement vs. a notary stamp, not trying to up sell something I didn't need.
