Really unreliable sadly :( would not recommend I went in for a very simple printing request, however~ 1) there was a large mark on all of the pages, they said their machines would not work all day, yet they still charged for the print 2) they did not receive the document for a while after it was initially emailed to them, and it turns out they had initially deleted it, which caused delay 3) they could not print the document as black and white and color, even though it would only take an additional few seconds to process. Everyone knows how sending items to the printer works, it's totally possible to select different color methods. I had a very time intense job that required photo printing on 2'x3' easel sized foam backing. This job entailed getting the highest quality photos from both Android and iPhone for superior printing. It worked and I and the project team were quite pleased. On the second related job, I needed a photo produced on super high glossy paper for the awards which were given to the honorees of our Rotary Club of San Francisco. Once again I was not let down. The key here is that they understood the job requirements and specifications and even helped make the "right" recommendations (photo quality, sizing) to ensure a job was well done. Should have written this long ago - this shop been open for many years (have been a customer for most of them) - this must mean they provide a great service (and they do) - Jenny and Mark (the owners) have always been very helpful and friendly on every occasion - even regarding the smallest of orders - on large orders their prices were very reasonable compared to other print shops / Recently ordered by phone (around 12noon) more business cards - they said it would be done by late afternoon - happen to be driving by the shop around 2pm and gave them a call just to see if they would be ready - amazingly they were already done - how is that for promptness - could not believe it - so impressed I gave them a 10% tip to show my gratitude - they deserve it !!! read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. I had to get a textbook from Copy Edge Printing for my class in CCSF. When I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted with attitude from this elderly man. He began implying that I was accusing him of ripping me off when I looked at their price chart. Mind you, I had other classes in CCSF that required scanned textbooks from Copy Edge, that's why I wanted to look at the chart for my other books. Also, I was surprised that it cost 50 dollars (as a college student, 50 dollars can seem like a lot!) so I had to make sure that he was able to get the right copy from the right author and class. Normally, I wouldn't get into a yelling match with a worker/employee and would treat them with the most respect because they're just simply doing their jobs. But because I was met with such rudeness and attitude, I think what I did was completely valid. This isn't my first time experiencing such shitty customer service from them. They would literally hide in the back of the room and ignore you once you enter the shop. And no, not all of them are busy, they just don't care about their customers. I would ask for assistance just to be ignored and the only way to somewhat get their attention is to go towards the back of the room. Not only this, but I have been overcharged for printing a 1 paged paper for around 2 something dollars. Anyways, what surprises me the most is that they're still in business despite their terrible customer service. The only reason why I come back to this store is because CCSF makes us go to Copy edge for a textbook ( probably your only source of income) And if there were other options as to where I can get scanned textbooks, I'd rather go there. So it's the final week of summer school. I had a fifteen paged paper due on Monday. I finished in a day advanced so I could relax and look forward to the remains of my weekend. And that's when Murphy's Law kicks in. My main printer ran out of toner. And I can't be arsed to buy more with a cartridge going at $20 a pop. My backup laser and inkjet printers kicked the bucket a few years back, so I got irritated and started swearing and wishing hell upon office supplies vendors. Luckily, my brother informed me of this particular print shop. It has been here literally my entire life, I guess I just never noticed. USB in hand, I printed two copies just in case. All for less than $5. The place is kinda scruffy and messy, but they get the job done. The employees are super nice and did not mind that I took a while setting up the doc I needed to print and fix last minute settings. 5 stars for saving my grade when I'm too cheap and lazy to drive to a Kinko's or Office Depot. read more

San Fransico travel is time consuming. A distance that may take 5-10 mins to travel in other city's can take 30+ mins in San Fran. That being said we were short on time and needed some copies printed ASAP. 2 stars for being able to print emailed files. However minus 3 stars because it cost $2 for 2 black and white 8x11 printed copies!!!! I had to get my midpoint thesis book printed and bounded! I had no idea where to do this and my friend recommended this place to me. She said it was the cheapest place around and I had little money so this place sounded like gold. I also called around to see the prices of other places in the city after calling here: "Hi, can I get an estimate for how much 4 copies of a book printed, 45 pages, all in color, and bounded?" After some estimates and asking what type of binding (spiral or the tape binding, both $3.50), "it'll be around $72" SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS? that was ridiculous, the other places I called said it would be at least $90, $140, $175. If you BART here, it's about a 15 minute walk from the Balboa Park Station, but you also pass by McDonalds and Whole Foods, so not a dangerous walk or anything. Fair warning though, the place is not clean. It looks like a place that needs a major upgrade because there were boxes of papers everywhere and it looked like it was probably last cleaned in the 90's. The person who also helped me out was Cantonese, and they will help you out bilingually, too! She was super nice and asked exactly what I needed before printing. I love that even the computer they used I saw "Norton AntiVirus 2002". LOVE IT! So when I got there, she asked what type of printing it was and I gave her my thumbdrive and she asked which side I needed double sided printing. I told her and she printed one copy for me first and let me see it to make sure it was okay. I double checked it and it looked fine. It's not super nice paper or anything but it also wasn't low quality. And asked what type of binding, and she puts on the clear cover on the front and either a black or navy blue plastic cover on the back too, so it looks more professional. And I came on a Saturday and she said it wasn't busy that day but after I approved of the first copy, she said to come back in 15 minutes! 15 minutes later, it was all done! The printing, binding, and in a bag with my thumbdrive ready to go! Accepts credit cards too! It was so quick and perfect. And she was really nice, too! The only thing I have to complain about is that they DON'T do full page bleeds :( they're a small white border for prints, but I wasn't too upset, but I would have paid extra if that was an option. read more

I generally try to spend my money locally, so when I had a large printing order, I went to Copy Edge. The staff couldn't be bothered to listen to what I needed and insisted on me running much of the job myself (I was perfectly willing to pay more to have their staff do it). When I handed the materials to them to be bound, a simple mistake ended up ruining the entire $100 order (weekly planners). A hassle & a waste of time. City College of San Francisco instructors are using this print shop for to produce course readers. This place has been here a long time. When Kinko's closed in Stonestown I started to use this place. Finding parking can be a challenge at certain times of the day. The space is a bit junky and cluttered inside. They do have a full service printing business. Off-set and digital, color, binding, lamination, on-demand publishing and even mailing. They clerk was very nice and bagged my purchases. I am going to start using this place more. read more

Copyedge is cheap, but their customer service is very poor. It is very hit or miss in terms of who you get; a few people seem to be friendly enough and know more or less what they are doing, but other people are downright unpleasant to work with. In terms of their printing services: I had used Copyedge for several years, and in the transition from one system to another, they lost my master copies and never recovered them. Also, a friend who I sent here had his entire USB drive erased when he tried to get something printed, and I don't think he ever recovered it either. In the end I will choose to pay more at another place where people conduct themselves more professionally, and where they have a more reliable system in place for organizing and fulfilling orders. Because of a number of bad experiences, I will not return to Copyedge for my business needs. read more

I started going to Copy Edge about three years ago because a co-worker recommended them. I've been very satisfied with the quality of their work, their customer service, and the fast turnaround time on print jobs. They always come through for me. I've had them print brochures, postcards, and booklets. I can be very fussy about quality; the quality of their work is better than the place I was going to previously. A very down to earth place. There is not much space which may make it difficult to make copies if you're a little disorganized. I managed which is saying something. Incredibly crowded during the day but amazingly I had no wait and the machine worked great! I love that parts were held up with packaging tape. Kinda hot, but it's the hot time of year right now and a copy shop so it's not unexpected. If this was closer to me I would be here all the time. Till then, it's right off 280 which makes it a much better alternative than larger corporate copy shops. read more

I was late the day they sold the reader I needed in class--damnit! I had to go to the store and pick it up. Now Ima person that hates going somewhere to find out they don't have any in stock. To avoid those annoying dilemas I call first to make sure they the reader I needed was in stock before makin' the adventure. I gave them my teacher's last name and course number. They said they did not have it----UGHHH. Then, I e-mailed my teacher "What gives!?" to make sure I had the correct address. She contacted them and assured me that they indeed have them.---ANNOYING! Guess what happened was they filed it under her old last name, and not her new one--- Common guys!! Don't run around with your heads cut off and tell me you don't have it when you did.... I'm sure I wasn't the only one calling about this reader, you should know/ have it under the correct last name. Rookies! First impression when i walked into the store: - Messy, like.... shit everywhere +Dirty, some old stuff lyin' around + Sales clerk that rung me up seemed very sweet! Had a very pleasant conversation with him. + Easy parking Conclusion: I haven't been to any other copy places yet so I dont really know what to compare it to besides something like Kinkos. Hmm..... question is... if I ever need copies... would I come back here? To answer my own question, I'd probably look on yelp to find one with higher ratings. read more

It's pretty sketchy looking from the outside and the dusty samples by the till make it seem like an unlikely place to get anything done. They do seem to have some decent equipment in the back and the staff were on the ball and attentive. They are one of the only places left in the city that offer perfect binding on one-off books. My book turned out fine but I recommend making sure it's at least a 1/4" thick. My order was ready in four hours and cost a fraction of what I thought it would. read more

The walls here were painted white sometime in the 80s, but now have a thick collection of aerosolized toner on them. It's like one of those brochures with the image of a smoker's tarry lung or an alcoholic's liver. After seeing the blackened walls at Copy Edge, I can sign a pledge that I will never take a job in a copy shop. They have a black and white copy machine. It can even do double sided. And they can fax things. I can't ask more from a copy shop one block from my apartment. read more

I needed to go make copies and was going to go to Kinko's at first. However, Kinko's was out of my way and I yelped a closer copy shop. Although this place is small and not so organized, it did it's job. The guy at the front desk was extremely helpful. I needed to make copies on bright colored paper and the guy at the front desk gave me tons of options and even helped me make the copies. The total cost for me to make 13 copies on colored paper was under two dollars. I will definitely be back. Thanks for your help! read more
