John & VMS has been AMAZING for all of our asks at Earnest. They get things done no matter what timeline we give them and everything has always looked perfect. We really appreciate working with VMS and know we can always trust them to get our print jobs done on time and correctly! read more

I was looking for a place to print a small number of my digital illustrations, 30 11x17 posters and 90 5x7 prints, sort of a trial run for future sales, and as gifts to my friends and family who've supported me over the years. Anyhoo... John was really helpful, patient, professional, and quoted a very reasonable price, even though I had a such a small project. VMS doesn't operate from a brick and mortar store, so most of our correspondence was via email. However, John offered to meet up so I could look at different paper options, and discuss details, and was very flexible with his schedule. I ended up moving forward without reviewing paper, but my prints look great! I will definitely use VMS in the future. read more

I recently had some very custom business cards made with John and I think the results are fantastic. The output product is exactly what I wanted. In more detail: I knew what I wanted to produce but not how to format the files, the dimensions, or the color. John was patient and took the time to truly understand my project. He provided the necessary advice for me to understand what kind of design and media would work best for my situation. He was easy to reach by phone, prompt in returning e-mail, on-time with predicted estimates, and accurate in the cost assessment. Thank you, John. Times used: 1 read more

John managed a redesign of my company's outdated newsletter, and i was very happy with the outcome. John = one cool cucumber, one cool dude, so easy to work with. like another yelper said, no matter what you do, what crazy changes you have, John takes everything in stride with a smile on his face. in the past, I used to manage all aspects of the production process - now i can just call john, tell him what i need and he takes the reigns. HE deals with the printer, HE deals with the mail house, HE coordinates the graphic artist, YOU just have to make sure to pay the bill. also, it was important to me to use recycled paper, soy-based ink, and a printer who used wind or solar power, and he got me all 3 PLUS a 4-color newsletter (vs. my previous bland 2-color) for a comperable price! so nice! i would definitely recommend John to anyone i know. and Yelp uses him too, so he must be good! read more

We've always had our cards printed by Leewood Press, and they've always done excellent work, but for smaller jobs (like getting business cards printed for a single new employee), their prices didn't seem competitive. Based on the Yelp reviews (and the recommendation of the Yelp staff themselves), I decided to try VMS, who came in at 1/3 the price on a small order. John got the cards turned around on a very quick timeline, but when they arrived, we realized there had been a problem with the fonts (they didn't have our font and the system had automatically substituted in a similar one without anyone noticing). Just as I thought the whole experiment of switching printers was going to go south, John saved the day - he had an entire new batch printed and delivered to our offices within a miraculously short number of hours. The new cards are perfect - very high quality paper and printing, and they did an excellent job of matching our previous cards. Despite the mistake, we still have cards in time for the important meetings tomorrow, and it was definitely one of those instances where VMS took what might have been a huge problem and turned it into an opportunity for truly excellent customer service. Thanks, John! read more

I had to have 800 last minute high quality flyers printed for an important event. I called John directly and he got back to me a quote within the hour. Without asking, he then personally showed up to drop off a proof, which was great because we were able to talk with him directly about an issue we noticed on the print. He even delivered an invoice and W-9 super speedy so we could get finance approval. The next day he had the entire order completed perfectly, and again, dropped it off in person without asking. Great guy - completely available - understands the hurry-up-and-wait nature of businesses - super fast turnaround - very respectful and helpful. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, and most importantly, PERFECT PRODUCT. On another note - he also does all our company business cards, and when one card was ordered from him that displayed this person's promotion (which was at the time still a secret within the company), he did just as he was asked, which was to make sure it was delivered by courier with specific instructions to only leave it with one particular person, so the surprise wasn't revealed. Thanks John, you rock! read more

Ok, all we did is order business cards, so this was not a big or complex project, but they did a nice job of finding the right stock, were responsive with edits and formatting, and delivered on time. read more

This is going to be quick and clean, because Big Newman's working double shifts here. I received a ton of business cards from a well known online distributor when I initially stepped into my own small business. Completely unsatisfied with the quality of the finished product, I threw the cards into their destined resting place: the trash. After some quick searching, I found VMS print here on Yelp, and sent John an email. His price and offered product quality level were both superior to what I'd previously paid for, and after some discussion - where he personally went back and forth with me via email to get some details correct - he met me in person to hand off my new business cards, which look PHENOMENAL!!! So that's that. My new and only printer for all cardstock needs. read more

I have been a VMS customer for over 7 years for printing business cards. The quality of paper stock and printing is excellent and the price is very reasonable. I provided the design, but John was helpful in reviewing the design and providing proofs prior to printing. I have returned several times over the years to print new cards for new employees. John has always been very responsive with a quick turn around. I will continue working with VMS and highly recommend their services. read more

I needed 500 prints of a marketing brochure for a specific time. John not only managed to deliver the package on time, but also helped to fold each brochure according to the design! When I opened the package, the brochures were in a prefect condition to be handed out! Communication with John was super smooth and pleasant! He was extremely patient with all the questions I had. His responses were always very prompt! In addition, VMS has very reasonable price comparatively! Very happy with the service! Highly recommended!!!! read more

John is very informed and helpful about the product options and he ultimately delivered an extremely high quality product to us. Ok, I seriously do not believe in reviewing things I have not tried, bought, used, etc. But I actually had a project at work where we needed some work done outside of the office and I figured... let me see what Yelp has to offer in the review department. Yelp uses this place... that was enough for me to give them a try. When I found this place I decided to contact them via their website and waited the 48 hours requested for a quote. This was about 2 weeks ago... I am still waiting for it. Perhaps the website produced an error? Maybe my order was not worthy enough... all I can do now is assume. I would have called, but I am from the school of thought that if someone is requesting my services (I am a consultant... so it is part of my work to do this)... I will contact them... I will make sure to let them know I got their request and I will get back to them within the amount of time. Of course, when not possible, I will let them know why and when I will get back to them. I just did not have the luxury of time to call the to see what happened and ended up going with someone else who did get back to me. In my line of business... time = $$$. Maybe next time we have a need for the services offered by this company I will give them a try because of all the good things I have read here and I rather keep things local aand support small business. I am hoping that perhaps this was all some sort of technological error and I believe in second chances. I know this is not going to deter anyone from trying this place because this is not my reason for posting this. I am just sharing my experience (1 out of the 11 currently posted here). And as I said... I am willing to give them a try again if I have a chance. =) No hard feelings... just making an observation and since this is where I got my information about this place and their services... I am just reporting back. (1 Star) (Why do I always feel bad when posting things less than 4-5 stars =( ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (UPDATE 2/6/08) I heard back from someone from Visual Media Solutions. Thank you for getting back to me. I now know what happened and I am glad to have been told. We are afterall only human. (2 stars) I hope to get a chance one day soon to give you guys a try! =) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (UPDATE 5/7/08) I got hate mail from a VMS client. I am changing this from 2 stars to 4 because I figure, everyone seems to love them yet I don't want to delete my comment. So, in order to please the haters, I have changed the rating. Sheesh people... chill! read more

I work for a local business in the Castro, and checked yelp for local printing services I could use for printing postcards for an upcoming event that I'm having. John is the man in charge here, and he is fantastic. He gave us a great quote and even picked up the cards from our office and returned them to us. John conveniently, easily helped me with solutions that really worked which is why I'm proud to say that I highly recommend Visual Media Solutions for all your printing needs. read more

I am a designer at a mid-market sized company. My company uses Visual Media Solutions for all our printing needs and they never disappoint. Projects are completed on time and on budget and they deliver the final product straight to our office. I always work directly with John and having a single point of contact with him makes everything so easy. They can even handle very custom requests for things like decals and die-cut projects. They are always willing to collaborate to get the right solution for you. As a designer, quality is very important to me, and I have always had great results with these guys. They also have no problem working with my company's invoicing system - so payment options are super flexible and work well for both small and large projects. read more

Seriously, no matter how flaky we are or how many times we change our minds on what to print, John takes everything in with a smile and gets it done right and quickly for us. This place is so great. John fixed my graphic. He went into Illustrator and placed a border because their were no standard bleed lines. So he went to all this trouble to male the pdf flyer graphic print worthy. And he did a great job. He beat out EVERYONE'S price and it was done within 16 hours of me contacting him. KINKOS was going to charge us sooooo much money. Don't go to Kinkos. Go to VMS. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the Customer Service at Visual Media Solutions. After working with *other* print production companies, I found John's attention to his customers refreshing. Other companies want you to basically become a graphic designer just to upload your images, reading fine print on the site, working with illustrator and adobe and border settings. If you're like me you don't have time to study a website written in 8 point font just to get some post cards printed. John and Visual Media Solutions understands that and provided the best customer care and timely turn-around an entrepreneur could ask for. Thanks John! I'll definitely be coming back and have already referred a colleague to you. read more
