These days, it's rare to have a business transaction go so smoothly that you find yourself thinking, "I wish they were all like this!" Yet I found that at this Copymat. (Whoa -- if they could copy good experiences, sign me up to invest.) I needed a poster printed up for my twins' birthday party and used the handy online form to request an estimate. I got an system acknowledgement and a personal response right away and the estimate within 20 minutes. Another 20 minutes later, I was emailed a proof and sent my approval via email. The poster was ready about 2 hours after that. I was in no way expecting same-day turnaround and was delighted. The poster looked great, it was neatly packaged in a sturdy tube (which they unpacked for me so I could see the poster, and then repacked it), and the transaction was handled effectively and personably. I am a student at CCa, California College of the Arts, and I always go to Copymat when I need quality prints for my project. Just recently I had an emergency order for 20 color, double-sided, booklets (comic books) to be printed within a few days. Although they weren't sure if they could get it done it in time, they took on the task and did a really great job. Professional and friendly operation. I am not a graphic artist my any means, but I like trying to make labels for my homebrew, usually with a mixture of hand-drawn images imported into and manipulated by a graphics editor program. Did I mention that I am not a graphic artist and that I barely know what I'm doing? Via email, Sasha counseled me on the best way to get the image formatted and sent me a proof. They were also able to make a small run of the labels for me, and all on the day before Thanksgiving. Copymat is really easy to work with and I'd definitely recommend them for any of your business printing needs. The individuals I worked with were also very helpful (Frank in particular but also when I visited the store) - everyone was super patient with me in trying to get exactly what I wanted. The process: 1. Stop by or email in what you want with the specs. 2. They send you a email proof and a sample by delivery. 3. If you like it, they'll print. If not, rinse and repeat. 4. Once you confirm you like the sample, they'll print and deliver it to you. Pretty straightforward but I loved the fact they delivered both the samples and the final prints to the office (maybe because I'm nearby?). I wish I could highlight, underline, bold and italicize how much I love that. I've worked with a number of printing services throughout SF and NYC and this was a first.
