Always wanted to try this place. Unfortunately, they are closed on the weekends. Like most people that live in Modesto, we commute to the bay area for work during the week with weekends off. They might want to reconsider changing their hrs because m-Thu 11am-3pm, Fri 11am-9pm, and the most important days that people want to go out and eat SATURDAY AND SUNDAY'S CLOSED isn't gonna work for a lot of potential new customers. read more

Attended a comedy show here this weekend and this was hands down the worst service I have ever had. 20 mins in and still no server. After I flagged a server down I waited 20 more minutes to be told they don't have the drink I ordered. Then after about another 30 mins we still didn't have the food. We had to remind them and apparently they never put the food order in. It's a bummer I really wanted to like this place but sadly I won't be back and I cannot recommend it. read more

We attended a wedding and the reception at The Post on a beautiful sunny evening. The location is interesting. It looks like this place may have been a school once upon a time or maybe some type of business park. The wedding ceremony was held outside in the center gazebo fountain area. You can set up lots of seating with areas for people to stand and mingle. I will say that it was particularly windy the day we were here. The ceremony was beautiful and nicely orchestrated. The sound system they had set up was pretty good too for being outside. Once the ceremony was completed we were moved to the reception bar area. Which is a small area. We couldn't go into the dinning area because they were still setting up. So everyone was crammed into the bar area and the outdoor patio. The dining room is large. I want to say there were about 150 people in attendance. Food was served buffet style and they did run out of the protein option. I just got a giant pile of salad. It was all simple buffet food, salad, bread, potato salad and a chicken for protein. Very simple. Once dinner was over they made room for a dance floor and speeches. The speaker system indoors was perfectly balanced and loud enough. Pretty much at the end everyone just danced or mingled about through the dance area, the bar area and out doors. There was lots of room for everyone to spread out. Its an interesting use of space and they are making the best of it out here in Modesto. read more

I was at the post for one of their comedy shows recently and since I had never been there I thought this would be a fun opportunity to try something new. The place itself it's really nice and clean. However, the staff , makes this review a 1 star rating. Not only did they "forget" the server admitted, to put in our table's order , but she was also not courteous or friendly at all. They also told us by the time they brought our food that they had "run" out of silverware so they brought us plastic forks which was surprising since the place was not packed to capacity for them to be out of silverware. The food was bland, had no taste and the restaurant became hot abs stuffy about half way to our dinner. I don't think I would go back there again. read more

Ive been here now three times! I just came again the other day with my ladies for their birthday celebrations! The little one itzy was our waiter she is the sweetest and made sure our table was great! She made our birthday celebrations more exciting with charlotte lighting a candle for our desserts and singing happy birthday for us! I usually go for the chicken marsala but this time she recommended me her favorite, chicken club sandwich, and that thing was HUGE! But it was delicious and delightful I enjoyed it the chef knows what he is doing back there every-time! 10/10 recommend this place! My friends also enjoyed their stay here and the dinner! Wanted to love it - but didn't. The waitress was great, really attentive and helpful and she gets 5 stars! But the food was just ok. My Reuben (pastrami) was tasty but the pastrami was tough and chewy which makes it unpleasant to eat. The fries were crunchy and perfect . I had a cup of soup (Tapatio chicken) which had a distinct vinegar flavor and being that I'm not a fan of Tapatio - I should have stayed away. They do have a salad bar but it's also just ok (didn't have it) but looked. It has iceberg lettuce (maybe the precut kind you buy at the store) and then a few other selections to go on top. I hate iceberg lettuce for salads unless it's a blue cheese wedge and then it's absolutely necessary. Supposedly the brunch is on point so who knows - maybe I'll give it another try. The whole decor and food choice is just confusing to me. The decor is very Italian which I love, but the food is Mexican and some Italians choices (not to mention they were playing Spanish music) which kills the whole Italian vibe. Just confusing. My friend's salad was beautiful and she said that it tasted great! My vegetable sandwich was good; they were able to adjust the ingredients to accomodate my food issue. The fries were exceptionally good too. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. There appeared to be a full bar; I neglected to check out the wine list. My husband and I tried out this place yesterday and it was great! The atmosphere was really nice and warm. The staff was great too. We had some garlic fries and chicken wings as an appetizer. Fries were nice and crispy the entire meal and the wings were cooked to perfection. My husband had the clam chowder in a bread bowl and the fish and chips and enjoyed both. I had the chicken marsala with mashed potatoes, veggies and a side salad. I'm a huge critic of chicken marsala and theirs was the best! Better than Bella Italia which happens to be one of my favorite Italian places to eat. Great job The Post! We'll be back again. read more

Stopped by to have lunch at The Post and wanted to write a review. The staff was very attentive. We never had to ask for something. My water was always refilled, our food plates were taken on time, and our food/drinks came out in a timely manner. The food was phenomenal but the service takes this place over the top! We started with calamari as an appetizer it was cooked perfectly just amazing. My friend ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the Chipino. The fish was golden in color and smelled amazing, just the right amount of batter and seasoned just right. The Chipino OMG can I just say AWESOME!!!!! The seasoning, the way it was cooked... So. Delicious. There was nothing I would want change, it was delicious and I enjoyed the amount of seafood that was in, it melted in my mouth! Definitely coming back. My family went out to celebrate our grandpas birthday, but were all very disappointed in the service and staff. There were open tables and no one ahead of us, yet we waited 15 minutes due to waiters being far more concerned with their personal drama than doing their job. I ordered the jalapeño burger, asked for well done and it was so pink and slightly cold on the inside I was concerned it was still raw. I asked the waitress to have it redone and explained it looked raw. She told me I'm "wrong," and there's no way it could be raw. Despite her being rude, the burger was sent back. 30 minutes later after everyone else was long finished eating, she brings out another raw jalapeño burger. Everyone at my table said the food was below average, and the service even worse. Unless you want the chance to get salmonella through an uncooked burger, stay away from this place. read more

I called ahead of time to place an order and repeated it three times to the lady on the phone and yet they still got it wrong. They gave me Manhattan Linguine instead of Tomato Basil Linguine. When confronted, they said that the tomato basil linguine is not on the menu but it clearly is on their website and DoorDash menu. I try to get away once a week for some me time to sit and eat a good meal and read for perhaps a couple of hours. This is my favorite go-to place. I most often love to eat outside but occasionally when the weather does not allow I love to eat inside just before the outside door leading out to the parking lot. I have never been disappointed by the food, the drinks or the service I receive here. I have been coming here for about a year now on and off at different times. It's my little getaway in Modesto. Fabulous service & food for our work lunch. I really appreciated Jacqueline's service she was friendly, personal (using our names!), and attentive. Veronica did a wonderful job giving Jacqueline a hand for our large party (16 people). Their on-line menu is outdated so Jacqueline sent us an updated menu to allow us to order ahead of time to speed up the lunch since we were a big group. Food was delicious although we were a little disappointed to find some of the food choices no longer offered. Big portions so be prepared! Everyone loved the atmosphere, food, and service. My fiance and I went to check this place out as a potential place to get married and have our reception we ate lunch the food was ok at best the vegetables were frozen and the chicken fried steak tasted like it was as well. My fiance had the fajitas there was a lot of grease on the bottom of the skillet not great. It was good that we ate first. Took my father to lunch here at a friends recommendation and was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Almost a hidden gem on the outskirts of town. Very large and rather nice inside but overall a comfortable atmosphere. Daily specials at a great price, good service, and most importantly delicious food.
