Horrible service, like does anyone work here? My husband and I stopped by lunch around 1pm on Tuesday the 24th. We sat at the bar, probably one other party seated at a table. It took a while to be recognized that we were there. There were at least 4 staff members and all hiding in the kitchen. Even to order a drink seemed to take forever. On top of that our food was pretty bad. The garlic fries were underdone, burger was okay, chicken piccata was dry and the sauce was tasteless. Again with no one to attend to us I had to hunt someone down to lay my bill. I normally tip 20% but it was so bad I only gave staff $5. I'm never coming back again and definitely telling people to not bother coming. We only came here because Gervasoni's was closed. Step it up. read more

The photos on their website gave the feeling like this place would serve high-end food and service. We received neither. The drinks took 40 minutes to get to us and we had to ask a server if they were coming. We got the mozzarella sticks and fries and they were average. We waited an hour and went up to the hostess to check on our main dinner and they "never received the food ticket." We cancelled the order and left. This place is truly a hidden gem, super welcoming the service was good, wait staff were attentive and very friendly. And the food was amazing I had the chicken club and chicken bacon ranch cheese fries, it was delicious the blackberry hard cider was good too. I have always wanted to try this place. This is a hidden gem for Modesto. I just cant understand why it isn't being utilized more. I went for lunch and was blown away at how large it is. So many areas for events to take place. It reminded me of when I took my kids to Disneyland and dined at the Pirates of Caribbean sans firefly's fluttering about. I had to take a day to think about my rating. Charlotte is a fantastic server and very friendly. and she is one of the reasons I'm giving 4 stars rather than 3. food was fresh and very good. tons of fresh veggies. However.. 40 minutes later ... (3 total tables in the entire restaurant) found out the chef forgot to make our order. good thing we weren't on a tight time schedule. Ugh. the reason they still get 4 stars... is... they made it right and comped 1 lunch dish. and the grounds are very clean. I cant wait to go and experience comedy nite there. read more

I had my 22nd birthday here when they threw the throwback brunch and it was so fun! The drinks from the bar were really good the mimosas were the best part!! The breakfast buffet had so many options it was worth it, plus all the other options on the menu were really good and the fresh the chicken Caesar salad was so good. I had my family of 25 come and they had our reservation ready to go and they were prepared for us. We all had a blast the DJ was playing some really good throwbacks and it was a full house. Service was great too the staff is amazing they made sure I had a great time I loved it here. I'm definitely coming back for another brunch or even just to come and eat or just drink. Their appetizers were pretty great the Garlic fries were definitely my favorite. Not only that but the whole set up of the restaurant is so cute even the outside seating was really nice!! read more

The food is great if you appreciate authentic home style cooking and large portions. The decor makes you feel like you are in little Italy, the menu is huge and they have a very large selection on cocktails. I noticed they also have mocktails! The lovely servers always take their time into giving top quality service. Ask for the specials of the day! they are always so authentic and unique. the post is one of my favorite spots for a weekday, but the Friday night events have been so fun! This was my fourth time eating here. The first time is when my wife and I got married in 2011. Every experience has been a good one. Today I came here and had a Classic French dip sandwich with garlic fries. The flavors are amazing! To drink, I had a hard cider and ice water with lemon. The atmosphere is just as good as I remember and even better. The service here was amazing everybody was very friendly. For dessert I have their fried cheesecake. And oh my gosh it was amazing! In fact the fried cheesecake is a must try so save room for dessert. The portions here are good! read more

The Service was excellent n like always the place is always welcoming to guests but I found that the fish on the fish n chips has changed. It was ok but not like what they use to serve so was a little disappointed in that. It was my go to dish always but will try again n see if it's truly changed. I have now been here twice. I love the vibe and how nice the service staff is. My only concern is that even though it's not too busy, they do take some time to come to the table and to check in on customers. That happened both times we were there. The food is pretty good too and reasonable. They are great about making what they can gluten free. They've been overall great and we will be back. read more

Watch out for auto gratuity! We've been here several times for dinner and for their comedy shows. Service has always been ok, friendly but slow (I think they are always understaffed). Last night our waitress forgot my drink, brought my husband a drink he didn't order, and also was quite slow. She was super nice but the service was just ok. When we got the check, which was just a drink check for 2 people, I noticed that an 18% gratuity was automatically added to the check. Not sure if this has always been the case, it probably has and we have never noticed. Not expecting it on a drink tab and just for 2 people I wonder how many people are still tipping again on top of already being charged a tip Again, love The Post, we will always go back...staff is always nice. I realized these are students and I've been here many times, and the service isn't great. Tonight we waited 2.5 hours for our food, nothing ever came except the bill. Refused to pay. Shouldn't someone have apologized? Shouldn't someone have checked on our table? Do the staff have sections? We were ignored all night. I understand it is busy, but guests around us were getting service. When we stopped a server to ask for help, they told us they would get someone....no one ever came, except with a bill. Whoever is managing these students is not teaching them organization or service techniques. They all ran around with their heads cut off. One server rolled peoples food out on a dirty kitchen cart-YUCK Advice-eat before you go. Sorry kids...but better to learn from someone who is honest. read more

I've been their twice this month. The ambience is really nice (indoor/outdoor sitting) but do look at their business hours. I had their Alfredo Fettuccine with spinach and shrimp it was really good for my taste. They also offer a Parmesan crispy bread with it also one of my favorites now. Always wanted to try this place. Unfortunately, they are closed on the weekends. Like most people that live in Modesto, we commute to the bay area for work during the week with weekends off. They might want to reconsider changing their hrs because m-Thu 11am-3pm, Fri 11am-9pm, and the most important days that people want to go out and eat SATURDAY AND SUNDAY'S CLOSED isn't gonna work for a lot of potential new customers. read more

Attended a comedy show here this weekend and this was hands down the worst service I have ever had. 20 mins in and still no server. After I flagged a server down I waited 20 more minutes to be told they don't have the drink I ordered. Then after about another 30 mins we still didn't have the food. We had to remind them and apparently they never put the food order in. It's a bummer I really wanted to like this place but sadly I won't be back and I cannot recommend it. read more

We attended a wedding and the reception at The Post on a beautiful sunny evening. The location is interesting. It looks like this place may have been a school once upon a time or maybe some type of business park. The wedding ceremony was held outside in the center gazebo fountain area. You can set up lots of seating with areas for people to stand and mingle. I will say that it was particularly windy the day we were here. The ceremony was beautiful and nicely orchestrated. The sound system they had set up was pretty good too for being outside. Once the ceremony was completed we were moved to the reception bar area. Which is a small area. We couldn't go into the dinning area because they were still setting up. So everyone was crammed into the bar area and the outdoor patio. The dining room is large. I want to say there were about 150 people in attendance. Food was served buffet style and they did run out of the protein option. I just got a giant pile of salad. It was all simple buffet food, salad, bread, potato salad and a chicken for protein. Very simple. Once dinner was over they made room for a dance floor and speeches. The speaker system indoors was perfectly balanced and loud enough. Pretty much at the end everyone just danced or mingled about through the dance area, the bar area and out doors. There was lots of room for everyone to spread out. Its an interesting use of space and they are making the best of it out here in Modesto. read more

I was at the post for one of their comedy shows recently and since I had never been there I thought this would be a fun opportunity to try something new. The place itself it's really nice and clean. However, the staff , makes this review a 1 star rating. Not only did they "forget" the server admitted, to put in our table's order , but she was also not courteous or friendly at all. They also told us by the time they brought our food that they had "run" out of silverware so they brought us plastic forks which was surprising since the place was not packed to capacity for them to be out of silverware. The food was bland, had no taste and the restaurant became hot abs stuffy about half way to our dinner. I don't think I would go back there again. read more
