    Fried rice

Ordered a 14$ fried rice. It was only half full. I don't even think there was 3$ worth of ingredients in it. I ordered the pho. And it's getting worse!

Grubhub Order: Large Pho #02 ($13.75)

Such a big disappointment. I was in the mood for a quick to-go meal for the cold weather and this is the closest pho spot near me that I can order off GrubHub. By paying over $14 for a large bowl of Pho I would expect what it is described as. A large bowl of pho. Unfortunately, this was not the case and the whole meal seemed like a small. Compared to several other pho locations I have been to this was not a size large. There was more broth than noodles and I was able to eat everything in a few bites. Not only were there not enough noodles, but they only gave me two pieces of basil leaves. The lemons were super tiny too. While I was waiting for my food I saw the portions more standard when dining in. Customers should expect the same experience and portions at takeout. It seems they were being very skimpy and not providing enough care to people who dine out. I will not be back here unless they change their consistency and portion size.

##2 Pho tái nạm ( filet, flank )

#2 filet mignon and flank pho, gave it 6 out 10. The meat was disappointing. Wasn't no filet mignon!

Walked in and was seated immediately. Ordered a Thai tea, deep fried shrimp rolls, and the #1 (small) . Food came out pretty quick. The Thai tea is pretty good, even without Boba (I know shame on me). Deep fried shrimp rolls were pretty darn good, hot crispy, and just as you'd expect them to be. The combo #1 was solid. Definitely not the best Phó I've had but far from the worst. The broth just needed a little hoisin and siriracha to bump it up a notch. This is one of those places with a fun name. I mean The Phó haha... Has a great name like Phó King (which is amazing btw) down in Monterey. I'll more than likely come back again to try their other phó options and/or grab some spring rolls after a Dr appointment across the road. Service was good, food filling and tasty. What is not to like?

Vermicelli BBQ Beef (bun thit nuong)

Came here for a pick up order around noon time on a Sunday and the place was very spacious and clean. I ordered the vermicelli bbq beef. It came with an egg roll too! It was pretty good. This is my go to order for Vietnamese restaurants and this didn't disappoint however wasn't the best one I've ever tried. Service was really good as upon entering the place I was greeted.

One of the best restaurants to get Pho in Modesto. The Oreo sludge drink is to die for.

We were mtg w/a friend who lives in Tracy. There was nothing open on a Sunday in Atwater (the 1/2…read moreway point for all of us), so we decided on Modesto. This place had good reviews so I was excited since I haven't had great Vietnamese food in Fresno. Was hoping this would be a treat. But it wasn't. Service wasn't great. No one ever checked on us to see if we needed anything. It wasn't crazy busy in there either since we there at off hours. Ambiance is standard for this kinda place. Whatever. Pretty big menu tho. Decided to do appetizers for dinner. ORDER: Crispy Crab Cakes: There was no discernible crab in them. Not even fake crab. No real flavor inside. It just tasted of overly greasy crust. But it was crispy I'll say. Choked down 1 & gave up. Fried Rolls: Normally the thing I love most at Vietnamese restaurants. This was mushy inside & bland. Pork & Shrimp Spring Roll: Wasn't filled very much. Like barely there noodles. One section I ate had none but had white radish strips, so I thought it was just lettuce, pork, shrimp & radish. I don't like a ton ton of noodles but it needed triple the amt to be an avg amt of noodle. The best thing about this was the peanut sauce. I give them high marks for their peanut sauce. Fried got pork vermicelli & shrimp spring rolls. Her high praise was "they gave a lot of meat." But otherwise her reaction was "it's ok." Other friend got garlic butter chicken wings. I had one. There was no garlic flavor on the wings but there was a bit of garlic & onion on the plate w/them. Otherwise, they tasted like naked wings. I like naked wings & admit they were cooked well. She also got brisket & flank pho w/out noodles. She said meat was tender & delicious. I really really wanted to like them more than I did. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time I've ever reviewed something where I gave less than 4 stars. Not my cup of tea, but glad they seem to have found their audience since they don't have poor reviews overall. Happy for them. Still on the quest for good Central Valley Vietnamese!
