    Grilled pork vermicelli noodle salad
    Raquel P.

Fantastic place for banh mi sandwiches. They use some egg spread that reminds me of a homemade mayonnaise, absolutely delicious and I am not a mayonnaise person. Their pork chops are tender and flavorful. We ordered a few sandwiches and some grilled pork plates. Everything was delicious. Looking forward to trying out more of their menu.

Came on a busy night. Staff was a little scrambled but they were very friendly. Food took a while to come out, but again, they were pretty busy. The food itself was very tasty. We tried a few different items and all of them had good flavor. The interior was nice. Spacious. Nice bar. Both interior and exterior seating. I'd definitely come back to see how their service is when they aren't so newly opened. Ive been to their location in Manteca and I was not impressed. But this location left a much better impression

Very good warm inviting ambiance and grey delicious food! The beef pho is flavorful and they put lots of meat in it. The post stickers and egg rolls are delicious as well. Will definitely be recommending this place.

Small chicken pho and small special combo pho with Thai tea
    Lindsey S.

Pho was really tasty. I definitely wish that there were more noodles in it because I felt like the portion was pretty small. But the broth tasted good and I liked the crispy onions in it. Never had that in a Pho broth before. Service could've been a bit better, our server kinda forgot about us once our food was delivered, however, another server noticed we needed something and was very attentive. The Thai tea was my favorite part, 10/10. I recommend getting that with your meal! I'd come back and try it again.

    Pork and chicken bahn mi.

Very friendly service, chill vibe, and super delicious bahn mi sandwiches. We tried the pork and chicken, recommend both. Crisp veggies with a slight hint of jalapeño. The bread held up to a filled sandwich. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Mojitos were well made and minty. Perfect with the crisp and fresh bahn mi.

Came here in Sunday, 4/12/26 evening for dinner. A party of 5, waited for seating for a couple of minutes. Walked through a bar and high table and barstools. Waiter came with cups and a jug of lemon water which is a plus. What we ordered: Pho dac biet- flavor was ok - with a bit much of MSG Bun Bo hue- spicy noodle soup- which had the whole pork blood and pork feet- look good but there's absolutely no flavor of a BBH . Grilled pork rice plate- grilled meat was good Service was good, different waiters always asked if we needed anything. I would come back to try the noodle grilled pork dish.

Grand opening day is/was a disaster. Remember, this is your third location, so there should have been better planning. We came, waited over 30 mins before our order was taken, ordered pho, and was told it'll be at least 1 hour until pho is ready. Pho is literally a broth that is assembled when ordered. ...1 hour for pho is insane. A word of advice... do a soft opening first, then go for your Grand Opening. It'll iron out the kinks.

    Chicken banh mi

Best banh mi I have ever had. Good service. Outdoor dining was very nice. My girlfriend comes here often and is a big fan.

B2 combination pho with rare steak on the side
    Simply r.

As we walked up server had opened the door for us. (Plus one star) The place is a sports bar. Updated decor. Has a nice patio if you choose to dine outside. ( plus one star for scenery) We grabbed a pub table and sat down. Our menus were given, but there was a spill of overloaded chili oil in a container on the table which caused our menus to be greasy and we touched it. Yikes. No biggy theres napkins on the table, we cleaned it right way. We ordered the B2 combo pho and i got a Vietnamese ice coffee. Our food arrives in a few minutes. Fast service. Now they had 2 size bowls. Reg or large. Not what we expected in size. Their size is different. Pho island's reg. Is a small everywhere eles. Their Large is a med. Just a heads up. But the pho was good. I didnt like the ice coffee. It tastes like powder? Not my thing. Service was attentive (plus one star) over all i rate 3 stars. The place is good, expect to add $4 more to each item to what you normally pay at a normal pho shop.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch on opening day. We were seated quickly and our order was immediately taken. Food took a while to come which was understandable considering it was packed and everyone was ordering a lot. Overall, enjoyable experience. Salt and pepper chicken wings: 8.5/10 - Juicy and delicious - Not too salty Grilled Pork Bahn Mi: 8.5/10 - Great flavor and texture - Huge portion Shaking Beef: 7.5/10 - Taste was on point - A bit tough for filet Korean Short Rib: 8.5/10 - Very flavorful (sauce and char) Garlic Noodle: 5/10 - Too sweet - Not enough garlic flavor

Large Grilled Rib Eye Pho (meat on the side)
    Yuliana V.

Their grilled steak pho is absolutely delicious. The meat comes on the side not in the bowl already grilled. The pho is delicious without the meat or added condiments/sauces but these elevate it. It is a little pricey at $18 for the large ($16 for the small) but it's huge and filling. The place is newer ownership and clean and tidy. Service is fast and attentive throughout the meal. They have tons of other dishes I want to try but so far I keep ordering this pho and not disappointed. Bonus, the have Vietnamese coffee and jelly, my absolute favorite.

Our experience was fantastic. Our order was taken pretty quick and food came out fast. The pho was amazing 10/10 I recommend if you are in the area

Great Pho restaurant. I've known them from the Stockton location, and I always have great experience here. It's great to hear they open their third location and with more items added to the menu. My ultimate favorite is Bun Bo Hue, which is spicy beef noodle soup, it's so rich in the flavor and now it's officially on the menu. They have their bar now with a variety of mocktails, beer and wine. Brandon is a great bartender, he delivers great drinks and awesome customer service. The place is super clean with great music and cozy atmosphere. They were pretty packed in their grand opening but still delivered their greatest customer service and delicious food. Awesome food and customer service, I will definitely come back for more.

It is always a great spot to invite colleagues, family, and friends. They offer a solid selection of burgers and craft beer, and the location is very convenient in downtown Modesto, within walking distance of the Brenden Theatre and nearby venues like the Gallo Center. Sadly disappointed…read more My friends and I stopped by Commonwealth on a Saturday afternoon for a late brunch. It was a beautiful day so it was busy for both indoor and outdoor seating. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

Tasty or WasteY??? Tasty!!!…read moreI don't know why we never tried this place before a couple months ago. Probably because of the name. We tried it once and now we're hooked. This time we tried the steak nachos. What a tasty surprise! The best nachos I've had in years! I would highly recommend this place. And, not only is the food good, but the patio dining is relaxing. The waitress that works on Sundays is so attentive. She never lets our drink get less than halfway empty before she's bringing us a refill. The prices are great for the huge portions of food.

Horrible service experience…read more When we arrived, the restaurant was only about 30% full and there appeared to be four waitresses on duty. After seating ourselves as instructed, we waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us or came to our table. We ordered two drinks and an appetizer (cheese curds) and requested a beer flight. It then took another several minutes to receive a flight card, and additional time before another waitress finally came over to enter the order. By this point, we had already been waiting approximately 25 minutes. Nearly 30 minutes after being seated, I finally received my flight. The cheese curds never arrived. Shortly afterward, our entrées were delivered. To be fair, the food itself was good. The larger issue was the complete lack of attentiveness from the wait staff. During the time we were waiting, employees appeared more focused on talking amongst themselves and cleaning tables than monitoring customers. At one point, a waitress cleaned the table directly next to us and never acknowledged our presence. Customers should at least be greeted, acknowledged, and offered water shortly after being seated. Instead, we sat for nearly 15 minutes without any interaction whatsoever. If a self-seating system is being used, management needs to ensure staff are actively watching for incoming guests and providing prompt service. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, we were still charged for the cheese curds that never came to the table. We had already asked two different waitresses about the missing appetizer. The charge was eventually addressed, but it should never have appeared on the bill in the first place. We visited on Sunday, June 14, at approximately 2:45 PM. Our food arrived roughly 75 minutes after we first sat down. We left a $0 tip, which is extremely unusual for us. We normally tip 20-30% for good service, but the service on this visit did not warrant any gratuity. Management should review what occurred during this shift, including staff performance and table coverage procedures. Based on our experience, there were clear failures in customer service, communication, and basic attentiveness. Unless we receive an apology from management and some indication that these issues are being addressed, we do not plan to return. Potential customers should be prepared for slow and highly inconsistent service.

An overweight waitress with black pulled back hair and heavily applied makeup showed up at our table with obvious contempt written all over her face. From the moment she approached our table, she seemed unhappy to be serving us. Her attitude was curt, uncooperative, and made us feel unwelcome. When I asked simple questions, she reacted as though I was inconveniencing her, responding with visible irritation and a dismissive tone. It became clear she was upset that we chose to sit outdoors. When she returned with our water, she was visibly sweating, flustered and frustrated, and probably worried about her heavily applied makeup running in the heat... so the entire interaction felt strained. If outdoor seating is open and available, customers shouldn't be made to feel guilty or unwelcome for choosing it. It's disappointing, because we actually enjoyed the food. But no matter how good a meal is, I won't return to a place where I'm treated with contempt. This was our first and last visit to Verona Cucina Italiana.

Looking at the exterior, we could only guess what was coming. Walking in just after opening gave us opportunity to marvel over the beautifully appointed interior without bothering yet to arrive lunch customers. After perusing the menu, which we had somewhat studied pre decision to dine here, our waiter Matteo filled in item by item our understanding of the many menu options. With his help and suggestions we four decided to share two "starters" - the whipped feta - half classic and half smoky. Both were delicious! We chose the 4 piece Bruschetta with a suggested cheese added. It too rang the delicious bell. We picked paninis for our main course: Flank steak, French dip and Prosciutto & Fig Jam. Each would be served with a side salad - either Spinach or Spring. We all chose Spinach. The sandwiches were full of the components as described. My wife's Prosciutto & Fig Jam had prosciutto from end to end countering a review to the contrary I had read. The other paninis were likewise filled. The Spinach side salads were loaded with walnuts and cranberries. The amount of feta was adequate. the total amount of salad was more than I expected. My wife ordered a dessert to go, and just reported to me that was superb. We had to forgo any wine with lunch as we had miles to drive home afterward. But I await the day we can spend the night in town and enjoy some selections of their impressive wine stock and not have to drive home. A Friday evening comes to mind. It must happen so we can try out more items of their well chosen fare. A couple of the pokes look scrumptious and a few more of the paninis await my gastric juices. We were pleasantly surprised by Damon bringing us a complimentary Chocolate Panini served with house made whipped zcream (who even serves that these days?) He said that we HAD to try his #1 selling item from the whole menu before we left. We tasted, and learned why it had reached that status. Good in appearance. Perfect in creation, Superb in taste. Kudos by the bucketful to Damon, Matteo, and the rest of the staff who helped this Birthday Bash be warm & fuzzy and highly enjoyed. If you haven't yet. I suggest you put Camp 4 on your high priority list and enjoy the experience as I'm sure you will. We sure did!
