Coming into the restaurant is way better than ordering through Door Dash so you can get full effect of your meal! I wish they offered egg noodles but the thick rice noodle is just as yummy! This place was recommended by a friend at work for their fried chicken so I decided to give them a try. The young lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Very patient with me cus I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before. I ordered the chicken wings and they were EXTREMELY TASTY especially with the sauce that was given with it (kinda wish I'd gotten more sauce). The soup was OK very bland. It had no flavor the broth clean, friendly service, but it was OK and the meat was kind of chewy.

The food was good but please be careful if you're a vegetarian or vegan. We ordered the vegan bowl, it came with a fried roll. On a Sunday recently, I experienced the following: 1. The waitress did not bring any spoons, chopsticks, etc. 2. I requested a change in music from the dive-bar sound to Vietnamese. Got a blank stare, why would anyone want that..Was told it was not possible to change it. 3. A banh mi sandwich finally showed up after everyone was finished eating and ready to leave. The Pho is a nice new restaurant that brings authentic Vietnamese food to the small town of Manteca. Although the pho bowls are large, they could use a bit more flavor. Its very cute and cozy inside. Came with a table of 3, servers were very kind. If you dont know how to use chopsticks, they already give you a fork so you dont have to ask. I was here last week as I was making my way through Manteca to Stockton. I decided to stop by The Pho because this is their newest location. The decor was nice and clean slightly different from the other ones I've been to but you still get the essence of what The Pho is with the wood accents, bright lighted ceilings, and the dark uniforms. The difference between the other locations I've been to is the claw machine! How many places do you know have a claw machine? It gives you a nostalgic feeling. Going to eat with your relatives and as they continue to talk amongst each other, you and your cousins surround the game machine and try to win the prize. Also, they got huge white counter tops which I like because you don't feel too cramped. The service was great, better than most places. I was greeted by sweet girl who told me her name was Tee. Funny thing is her twin sister Thanh works there too so they're a 1-2 combo. They have that twin connection so they flow and work well together. Picture two cars racing in unison, changing lanes back and forth. The food was consistent to the other locations. Some would say of course, they're the same restaurant but you don't know how many times I've eaten at a further restaurant because the one closer to me isn't in the same level. It happens quite often, which is a reflection of management. I got the short rib rice plate with a fried egg while my wife got the pho. She is more of a bun Bo hue girl but since we were at a pho place she had to try the specialty. She said the pho is better than the ones in Dublin. My rice plate was hefty and got me pretty full. The short ribs had a nice sauce to it, which I like to mix with my rice to absorb all the flavors and finish it off with a sunny side up egg; drizzled in fish sauce. Food was good, service was horrible. Young lady named Jet was our server. She never came around to check on us, but had the nerves to give a stone face attitude when I made the complaint. They planted a jug of water and I guess that should've been enough for our table through our meals. The water was room temperature, so the ice melted just after the first sip. I don't think we'll be back. This place just opened near our house and we have been looking forward to trying it. My son and I walked in and stood there as workers scurried around us without greeting us. Someone came after a few minutes, sat us at a table and left. Waters we brought right away. It was FREEZING in there. I swear I ordered a watermelon milk tea. I even said watermelon milk tea when I ordered it. I received a very white, milky drink which ended up apparently being WINTERmelon. I wondered and wondered why it didn't taste like watermelon at all. Only figured it out after checking my receipt. The pho took longer than most places to come out and they were not busy. I ordered my son's with NO onions and it came out WITH onions, so we had to wait again for a new bowl for him. My chicken pho was super greasy for some reason. Like full of some type of oil. The chicken was gross and I took most of it out. There were lots of younger kids working and they didn't seem comfortable or like they knew what they were doing or that they knew anything about hospitality. I don't mind paying $20 plus for a bowl of pho, but the broth here is lacking a lot of flavor. It's just not worth it. After eating my pho, my tongue felt so bland and tasteless and I could taste MSG in my mouth throughout the day. I had to go find something tasty to eat afterwards to get rid of that bland MSG foul mouth. Although it's expensive, I really like thier beef rib, but the broth needs a lot of improvements and they need to stop adding MSG. read more
