The food here has been consistently good, thankfully. We always order take out and they have our food hot and ready within about ten minutes of our order. Oh wow. I am shocked at the service we just received here. We are regular customers of the Modesto location and were on our way back from the Bay Area and decided to stop by this location due to the fact that we would not make it in time before closing to the Modesto location. We arrived and the cashier who said her name is Fiona very aggressively yelled when my husband scooted a table to join another table, I would say maybe a foot distance.. if that. She yelled "don't move my tables!!" I was at the register and had already started to order when this happened. The table was already moved and she continued to yell. She said "you don't come into MY restaurant and move MY tables!" At this point the two tables dining in the restaurant were all looking at us and also shocked at the attitude of said employee. I have never been literally yelled at anywhere I have dined. It was distasteful and very rude. It took everything in me to not yell back. I very politely said "wow, the yelling is uncalled for" and asked her to cancel the order. I refuse to support a business with an employee who thinks it's ok to yell at customers. If it is "her" restaurant as she claimed then this woman knows nothing about customer service. I used to work in the restaurant industry for 10+ years and I'm absolutely flabbergasted at this behavior. She was not pleasant in any way. And if I was an owner I would think twice about having her as an employee. There's a certain way of going about these type of situations and she handled it in the worst way. The restaurant would be closing in 30 minutes and my bet is she was probably annoyed that we came in last minute before closing and that was the reason she was in such a bad mood. Or could it possibly be racism? We are Mexican and on our way out another table mentioned to us that they also were treated poorly by the same employee. They were also Mexican. They mentioned she had made them get up and move to a different table after already sitting and she was also very rude in the way she spoke to them. We felt belittled and almost embarrassed at being treated this way. I would love a follow through regarding this situation. If a manager or owner can please reach out to me that would be greatly appreciated. I always get the black garlic ramen, spicy which is always good but sometimes the spiciness is a bit off, it's either not enough spicy or not enough enough spicy. The workers are welcoming and when they see me and my circus of kids coming, they are quick to seat me at the biggest table possible. Drink selection is good but sometimes the water tastes a bit off, but it's ok, the yummy food makes up for it and if they make my soup just more spicy, the the spicy can kill the germs from the weird tasting water. Located in the Stadium Center Plaza sandwiched between Starbucks and Jamba Juice. You first place your order then you'll seat yourself to any available seating and they'll serve your food to you. My usual orders here were Tonkotsu Ramen, Takoyaki, and Grilled Whole Squid. Tonkotsu Ramen- pork bone broth that has a thick creamy favor. Topped with charsiu pork, ramen egg, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, green onions, and fish cake. The Ramen noodles still have an al dente bite to it. It soaks up the right amount of soup and does not get soggy. Takoyaki- this is not a made to order octopus balls. This is pre-made, frozen ones that you heat up then serve with takoyaki sauce, bonito (fish) flakes, and fried seaweed powder. Though the batter is thick, you still get a piece of octopus in every bite. It's good enough to satisfy your cravings. Whole Grolled Squid- grilled, seasoned well, cut into bite sized pieces, and drizzled with sauce in top. It's actually a tender pieces of meat that is not overcooked and has a good amount of chewiness that doesn't kill your jaw. Let's detail my experience: The miso soup is so good. The ramen noodles in my order need to be cooked alittle more, it's abit tough when I'm eating and biting on it. The ebi tempura was ok.. I'm expecting maybe a different batter, where the batter is more light and crunchy. The tempura dip sauce has a salty taste, maybe need more attention when putting the seasoning. You know I was quite surprised to see how many great reviews this place has for the quality of food that there is. I was really hoping to come in and have a new ramen spot after moving here but I couldn't even finish my food, in kind words it was really not good. Although the do give you a ton of noodles, it truly was like eating noodles in a broth of straight water. The bentos are less than $15! Chicken cutlets were surprisingly good. It's very thin and crispy just like what I had in Japan! It was nicely done without overcooking, therefore, it was juicy and not dry at all. Protein portions were huge. The beef teriyaki was also pretty good. Good quality beef, I've been to places where have of the beef was just fat, but not marbled kind of fat like the Wagyus. On the other hand, I was disappointed on the ramen. The kids were chowing the down before I even had a chance to take a picture. The Tonkatsu broth was not as concentrated nor flavorful enough. But the kids enjoyed it and finished the entire bowl. She's makes you feel welcome. The food is good, but I haven't found a favorite yet. I had the teriachy chicken bento box today. It doesn't have the soup and salad like the usual bento box, which I prefer. Service is great, food is good, the ambiance is prefect to go eat by yourself or with company. Came here yesterday for the first time. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen with lumpia appetizer. The food was amazing. I loved every bit of it. I got the ramen medium spicy which was probably the perfect amount of spicy. I don't think I would have been able to handle any hotter. The restaurant in itself is pretty small so if you come to dine in you may have to wait for a table to free up. Super friendly cozy place! We were not very thorough in checking it out before we arrive, we saw ramen and a lot of stars and thought perfect! We did call ahead to see if they had a table available for 7 as even larger restaurants sometimes struggle to accommodate my large family and she said she'd do her best to hold it for 20 minutes.
