Came here for dinner. Overall, the food was pretty good. I got the C4, which was a rice plate with a grilled pork chop, shredded pork, and an egg. The grilled pork chop was very tasty, and the best part of the plate. The shredded pork was not what I expected - it almost looked like tripe and was kind of tasteless. Similarly, the egg came in a cube and was more of a frittata. My biggest issue though is with the service. My husband's pho came out almost immediately, about 20 minutes before the next dish. So we all sat and watched him eat. The other 3 dishes also came out at different times. The chow fun that I ordered for the kids was 50% bean sprouts, and very oily.
Rice and Rolled was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, and the customer service was even better. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. My husband had a special request with his order, and they were more than happy to make it happen. It's not often you find great food and such wonderful service in one place. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Rice and Rolled to anyone looking for a great meal!
Came on a Sunday 9/21/25 evening and had a party of 10 people. Got seated immediately. We ordered: Rice plate with grilled pork chop w/shredded pork and egg- was good Rice plate with grilled pork w/shredded pork- was good Pho- was good Rice vermicelli with grilled pork was good Overall the dishes were good and decent size. The service was ok - not sure if the waitress was new but she didn't know how to put in order and every question I ask, she ask her fellow employees. Kinda bummed is that it's a Vietnamese restaurant and serve with other dishes besides pho... they didn't have the right condiments (garlic chili garlic sauce) for our rice plate. Also, they do a 15% gratuities for a group.
I love this place! The staff is always super friendly and the atmosphere is always great. My favorite is the chicken pho because it is gluten-free. I haven't really tried anything else besides the shrimp spring rolls which were good as well. When I like something I stick with it so my review will only be for those two items. I will say, however, that I have gone with family and everyone enjoyed their meal.
When a day of swimming at the local Great Wolf Lodge turned us to into hungry wolves, Vietnamese food sounded so good!!! We stopped in and got sat right away. We quickly ordered and the food came out pretty quickly! Kudos to the gentlemen who was taking orders, bringing out the food, and clearing tables! Impressive! The food was delicious and portions were good! Parking can be tricky. There were street parking up front, but it was busy, so we've parked in the back.
It's always good to eat here. Specially during cold season or anytime it's cold come here. Very cozy place. Service was a bit slow to serve us food but it's still worth to wait. The only thing that I would say is that the busser is very slow to clean up any tables that are used.
Been here a few times and haven't had a bad experience. Foods/drinks are good, environment is clean, and staff is friendly. Parking can be a bit challenging since there is no parking lot so street parking is your only choice and they're on a very business street. Would recommend
This place has so many options to on its menu. It is like 4 different restaurants In-One. I will call it All-In-One combination Restaurant. The quality and taste of the food flavor is awesome
Stopped by here for a lunch break from our Great Wolf Lodge experience as the restaurant is about 10 minutes away. I liked the Pho and the drinks (Pina Colada smoothie and Iced Vietnamese Coffee). Vietnamese Steak & Egg with Bread (Banh Mi Bo Ne) - the heart of the dish, the steak, was tender and delicious. Came with a meatball and a small spreadable wedge of cheese, which were interesting, but didn't think it added much like the pate we've had with other Banh Mi Chao. Grilled Pork Chop Rice Plate was good - comes with 2 pork chops (we added an egg). The pork chop with egg only comes with one pork chop. Fried Egg Rolls were ok - what we expected with a slightly thicker and crunchier skin. The Shrimp fried rice looked gorgeous and the shrimp had really good texture (not overcooked). It was just underseasoned and did not have much oil or wok hay. A pretty solid choice for Vietnamese food.
Update 8/2025 Man I'm really on the fence. I think I haven't been here in a couple of years. Randomly came with my cousin and there were a lot of new things on the menu (at least from what I could remember) and I was immediately hooked. Just a few days after that I came back on my own after work and my experience was WAY different. What was going to be updated to a 4/5 may be downgraded to a 2/5. When I visited with my cousin, we got the grilled beef spring roll to share and I ordered their Banh Mi Bo Ne aka Vietnamese Steak and Eggs. I have only ordered this one time at a great restaurant in the OC and as good as it was, theirs may have been even better. The meat was so tender, the egg was perfectly cooked and the sauce was so flavorful. Their bread had a nice crisp to the outside while maintaining a nice airy fluff on the inside. It was perfect for dipping into the sauce. It also came with like a baby bell cheese triangle kind of thing as well as like a giant Asian meatball. Usually, I'm not a fan of the Asian meatballs in general, but there's a surprisingly doable for me. My cousin really enjoyed his pho Filet Mignon combo. We both LOVED the grilled beef spring roll. The perfect sear on the beef, the nice cook of the noodles and everything paired well with the sweet peanut sauce. For drinks I ordered both their oolong milk and watermelon milk teas. I had ordered the oolong specifically because the very first time I ordered it years ago it was the perfect combo of toasted sweetness. Every other time I've had it, it was never quite as good, but that last time it was finally pretty close. This was my first time getting the watermelon milk tea. I know a lot of people prefer the natural taste but I was really hoping for a strong artificial taste. It was slightly lacking in that considering the color. On to the 2nd visit about 3 days later. I was on my way home from work so I just ordered a couple of spring rolls to go; 1 grilled beef and 1 pork & shrimp. My parents enjoyed their pork and shrimp spring roll. As for me I had a different experience with my grilled beef one. This time I it was a bit harder to eat. The flavors and the other components masked the problems that I didn't initially notice. The onions that were wrapped in the grilled beef were a bit tough and undercooked so they came out whole when I took a bite. The meat had a bit of an off chew. When I took a closer look at it, the beef appeared to be under cooked and borderline raw. I like a medium rare steak as much as the next person but for a grilled beef spring roll that's just not appropriate. I ended up taking the meat out of the roll and cooking it a bit longer to finish cooking. So where they were going from a 3/5 to a 4/5, I think I'm going to have to ding them on this and drop them to a 2/5. I had I had the time, I was going to try and go again today but I'll have to save it for another day to see if that was just a fluke. Hopefully I can bump them back up to at least a 3/5 and maybe even a 4/5. As for service I can't really complain, they are fairly pleasant and get the food out in a decent timeframe.
Second time here and me and my bestie decided to come in for a quick bite. The restaurant is situated in the heart of Downtown Manteca. Very charming location and the interior is beautiful and modern. Very neat and tidy. My bestie ordered the Bun Bo Hue soup for the first time and she enjoyed while I had pork and shrimp spring rolls. Good wasn't either great or bad but satisfying. They have a huge menu with all sorts of Vietnamese dishes, which I love . Service was decent, could've been better. The main complaint could be the air conditioning. It's a hot summer day in Manteca and where a spot that offers hot soups for the majority of the customers, should insist on turning the air conditioner on. It was a bit humid in there. Besides that, we may possibly be back.
Hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant tucked away in the heart of downtown Manteca, and one that's worth seeking out. My wife and I stopped in after our jog along the Tidewater Biketrail, making this our lunch pit stop after starting at Lathrop Road. The Char Siu Pork Bánh Mì is an easy 5/5. The baguette was fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. The char siu pork was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized around the edges. Crisp pickled carrots and daikon, plenty of cilantro, and fresh jalapeños brought everything together. It's a well-balanced sandwich with a portion that's just right. The Grilled Chicken Roll'd deserves more attention. The grilled chicken reminded me of a flavorful chicken satay, and the peanut sauce complemented every bite without overpowering the fresh ingredients. If you're looking for a lighter, protein-packed option, this is it. They also offered complimentary strawberry and passion fruit refreshers. They were a little sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were refreshing. Next time, I'd order one at 50% sweetness. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and a welcome escape from the Central Valley heat. Service has always been friendly, and it's the kind of place where both the staff and regulars make you feel welcome. There's also a Tracy location, but I find myself coming back to the Manteca restaurant. It's smaller, more intimate, and has a charm all its own. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, great people, and a relaxed atmosphere. I always say, good food brings out the best in people. Stopped by at this restaurant for a quick lunch. Service was very attentive. We got beef stew, chicken noodle soup and lemon grass chicken vermicelli. The chicken in the vermicelli dish was outstanding, flavorful but not overpowering with spice. Salad items were fresh and crunchy. Both of the soup dishes were full of flavor, beef stew on a spicy side. Chicken noodle soup is old classic that was executed beautifully in this eatery. I tried Thai tea as well and it was yummy. Not too sweet. All in all, great value for the quality and quantity of food. read more
Limited street parking. We were greeted and seated quickly. Food was served shortly afterwards. First impression was it is a cute restaurant, seems clean. Food presentation was nice. Pho broth was good, calamari was hard, as if the oil used was old or over cooked. Spicy chicken wings were drenched with sauce. The worst dish was the chow fun, my daughter took her first bite and said it tasted old. I had to taste it and the noodles were disgusting. Tasted like it was leftovers and prepared in a microwave. My whole family are pretty sure that we are never returning. read more

I love this place. It's my go to pho spot whenever I'm in Lathrop because the pho flavor is usually pretty good. However, today I got the oxtail pho because I was craving some oxtail and it was so funny/ridiculous that I had to write a review. The whole bowl came with only half an oxtail. Idk why but I was expecting like 1-2 full oxtail pieces at least. I'll still love this place but stay away from the oxtail pho lmao. read more

Bahn mi was delicious the mayo used was very tangy and the veggies seemed very fresh, they had great music playing and the staff member was a younger gentleman who was very kind, pho was hot and a more mild pho flavor, the eggrolls didn't taste like fryer and the rice plate and house fried rice were really good, nothing seemed old and tasted fresh, didn't get to try a tea but noticed many other people drinking them and they looked delicious. since it is downtown you'll have to park in the back lot. Great decorations inside felt very cozy with the brick walls. The food was moderately priced with nothing seeming too expensive. Nice place to stop and warm up in the cold weather. read more
Tried out their Combination Pho, Chicken Pho, and Char Siu Pork Sandwich and Rice & Roll'd did not disappoint! This restaurant was very generous with the portions of pho that was given and the flavor of the broth was delicious. Attentive server and our food came out within 5-10 mins of ordering so service was quick! The restaurant is clean and there is a good amount of seating available. Will definitely be stopping by again! read more

When it's a hot day, it makes sense to counter the heat with a warm meal right? That logic stands for me though I didn't get pho or a broth based meal this time. I was craving some spring rolls and my bf saw this place when he passed by before, best time to give a try. Parking on the street wasn't all too hard to find in the afternoon as cars seem to be constantly going in and out. Inside here, it was pretty cool to see a motorbike display that seemed like ones commonly used in Vietnam. Everything was bright and clean while smelling like comfort food (to me), the broth scent permeates the place a bit and I love it! I had to get an order of shrimp spring rolls and 2 rice plates, was in the mood to drown my rice in fish sauce (iykyk). When it comes to Vietnamese food, I do get a bit picky as I grew up with family from Vietnam and having a family Pho Ga restaurant. Around the central valley area, I'm always on the look out for good comfort food. Service was pretty good; it took a little bit for us to put our order in, but the spring rolls and rice places came out very quickly. For the shrimp spring rolls, the presentation with the pickled carrots and daikon all over wasn't my favorite as I had to dig my roll out - but it's a nice added crunch to have together with a bite of spring roll. The spring rolls were nice and refreshing, no herbs in it - but there's a good balance of noodles to lettuce in it. As for the dipping sauce - it was a little heavier on the peanut side than hoisin, but still very good. For the 2 rice plates, I really enjoyed the grilled pork. It was very flavorful while still being tender and having a good sear on it. As for the chả trứng hấp on my plate, the flavor was mild and the meatloaf was a little more on the loose side... but nevertheless, the plate was very good with a nice light broth on the side. We got a few orders of bánh mì to go and they're what I would expect - the ratio of veggies to meat were fair with nice big slices of jalapeño. Oh! I also got a passionfruit tea with white boba (agar) and it was delightfully refreshing for the warm weather. There wasn't any weird sugary aftertaste and wasn't too overly sweet at the same time. If it's not for food, I'd happily come back for a boba - got other flavors to try now! Final Thoughts: I'm definitely coming back to give the pho a try. The beef stew also looks really good - that'll also be on my list to try. 10/10 - spring roll craving satisfied and it's honestly the best hot weather meal despite it being an appetizer (I'll take 2 orders to make it a meal!). read more

I decided to try Rice & Roll'd as I had never had Vietnamese cuisine before and had always wanted to try a banh mi sandwich, so let's get into it... Ambiance - The atmosphere at this restaurant is quite nice. They have a nice modern-looking sign with their business name and the decor was nice too. Located in downtown Manteca, you almost forget that you're in the middle of a mediocre downtown area when you step into the restaurant. Rice & Roll'd can accommodate both smaller and larger groups with a huge long table that can be combined. Service - I ordered my food to-go, so I will only review my observations from others that were dining in and my own experiences while waiting for my food. The staff were all very nice and friendly. I was acknowledge and smiled at by at least 3 other staff while waiting and they gave off a friendly vibe. It was really nice. I watched one waiter take care of a very large group and honestly, he was going above and beyond. It must have been some sort of family reunion or friends gathering, but the waiter was nice enough to take a picture of the entire group and was quite patient with the group which had at least 5 small children in it. Major kudos to him and the staff for their efforts. Food - I ordered an appetizer of fried pork egg rolls and a pork banh mi sandwich at the suggestion of the lady who took my order. The egg rolls were crispy MFers! Do not eat these in a house with a sleeping baby, because these suckers are so crisp it could wake up the whole house. The dipping sauce was tasty and the egg rolls were quite good. The bahn mi sandwich was very unimpressive at first bite, but all I got was a mouthful of bread. My 2nd bite was much better and it was a really tasty sandwich. The slaw type stuff they put in the sandwich is very good and honestly I liked the bites with that just as much as the bites with the pork. I'm a fan! Overall, this was a great first step into the world of Vietnamese cuisine and I would definitely come back to try other things in the future. The place looked good, the staff were super nice and friendly, and the food was delicious. Keep on doing your thing, Rice & Roll'd! read more
