First time here and it will be our last. Walked in, no one greeted us. Table they sat us in was still dirty with a high chair that was absolutely filthy. Took awhile for someone to finally take our order. Both servers who were working that evening looked irritated that they had to be there. We had to ask for everything, again they acted like we were a bother since no one asked how we were doing after we got our meals. Fried tofu and fried chicken wings had way too much batter. This time around was also a dine in experience with overhead music that started out great and then kind of made a turn with slow, possible "I have a crush on you" melodies.,which with having a hot bowl of Pho and that music, was making me sleepy lol. My daughter and I visited The Pho after finishing up some early morning errands and our experience was just, ok. The girls and the service were fantastic. Our server was very nice, although she seemed new and was still learning the menu, but STILL! She was very nice. The restaurant itself was modern and clean. So we sat down at a booth and I ordered spring rolls, BBH, and a kid's egg noodle pho with chicken for my daughter. Spring rolls were good - can't really mess those up. The egg noodle pho was good and just the right size for my toddler. BUT! When the BBH came out the broth was dang near clear. Even when I stirred the broth to spread the sauce and spices it was pretty bland. I had to scoop some chili oil and add tons of fish sauce to get some flavor out of it. *** Vegetarian Review *** This is my 3rd time here. If I took the time to write a review after my 1st or 2nd visits, it would have been a solid 4 stars. Vegan Pho ($14, Grade C) - Unfortunately, their vegan pho is no longer something to drive 40 minutes to get. During my first 2 visits, it was loaded with vegan meats. Sliced ham and vegan meatballs. Easily a 4-star pho that was worth the drive. I thought it was just an overlook, but when I asked, they said they no longer include the vegan meatballs. And it turns out they don't add more vegan sliced ham to make up for the change. In fact, I only had 3 pieces of ham and 6 cubes of tofu. They apparently try to hide the fact they took a lot of the good stuff out by adding so many button mushrooms. Disappointing. The broth is still vegan so that's ultimately why this still gets a 3-star rating. But beyond that and the Scroogelike portion of sliced ham, this pho does not satisfy. If they start to make it like it was during my 2 previous visits, I will update my review accordingly. In the meantime, if you are craving the best vegan pho in the area, visit Huong Sen Tofu, 6830 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento. Packed full of vegan meats - I order it without lemon grass because it tends to take over all flavors. Bottom line. The service is super quick and they are very friendly. Parking is easy. I had this place a few weeks ago and their service is so sweet! When we came they just had their POS system stolen for the FOURTH time! I decided to try a pho and Banh mi sandwich. The pho was pretty good and only needed a few ingredients to make the way I liked it. I like mine super hot, and their chili isn't that spicy. I ordered beef on the side and the selections came out fresh. There was enough noodles for me and my niece to a eat a small and share a Banh mi. The Banh mi was ok. Not the best but it was decent . Great Pho and Fantastic Service! I recently visited The Pho with my husband and son. While I've been here before, it was my husband's first time. We live a bit far from the restaurant, but my husband has been searching for a new favorite pho spot since his old go-to hasn't been the same lately. I love how welcoming and cool the interior is--it creates a really nice atmosphere. The food was great! My husband said it tasted more like kathiew (the Cambodian version of pho) than traditional Vietnamese pho, but he still enjoyed it and said he'd be back. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but to me, it's worth it when the food is this good. The service was also excellent--our server was attentive and friendly. My bff and I came for lunch. I had the bbh - broth was good, noodles were very disappointing- broke into small pieces and the noodles were still hard. Meat portion was good but not tender. My bff got pho she enjoyed her bowl from broth to the noodles but she also said the meat had a good portion just tough and chewy. When you walk in, you immediately smell the scent of what smells like good pho. Was seated immediately and ordered the Pho #4: Pho Tai Bo Vein and Bo Ne as well as an avocado smoothie. They were having a promotion going on where they were giving out white grape tea for free but it just tasted like a regular green tea to me, not too sweet which I appreciated but also nothing special. [Avocado smoothie] was delicious!! [Pho] had a strong clove/star anise flavor which overpowered the broth, this place only has lemons but I would have rather had lime because I had to use a ton of lemons to balance the clove/star anise flavor out, whereas if I had lime I would have done more with less. Overall pho was just OK, noodles were perfectly al-dente and meat was decent. I would not come here to order the pho again but I know some of my Vietnamese coworkers enjoy the pho here and have returned. The [Bo Ne] did not come out in a sizzling plate, meat and eggs were already cooked on it and when it came out it was slightly warm, not even hot. Meat was too chewy and was beef stew meat instead of steak. The bread was definitely better than any of the baguettes I've had in Stockton but still does not compare to bread from San Jose where I'm from. Bo Ne comes with soup or salad, we chose soup which was just pho broth that again had too strong of a clove/star anise flavor. The pho broth is a LITTLE sweet but still yummy. I added a whole bunch of their chili oil but it didn't make it spicy at all idk I'd just skip that & drown it in Sriracha instead. Food: The filet mignon seems exaggerated. The meat is good, but definitely no better than the typical roast/round that is used in most pho places. The spring rolls are delicious especially if you love pickled carrots. I do not love them, so I took them out, but I could see how others would like them. Food is tasty and fresh. Service/Location: I ate at this location twice. No real issues, went late night both times, lots of parking and close to T% for boba as dessert! The lady was attentive and offered us water in the Korean plastic type containers to pour from whenever we ran out. The kiosk to pay is nice, you usually go up to the front to pay at these franchises. Bathroom: The bathrooms are individual stalls and have no paper towels. This makes it difficult to leave the bathroom without touching anything. This is my main reason I have removed another star from this review, I had to use a napkin from the table and bring it into the bathroom. Summary: The photo posted below is for the location in Stockton. The food was very similar/consistent in every location that I tried (March lane, Dale Rd. and Oakdale Rd.).
