So ima start with the food and quickness of getting it was nice. But I didn't like the fact that when I walked in with my family, there wasn't any real direction on where to check in. It took me a while to find the courage talk about the experiment my mom and I had. We use to love this place and have never had an issue. When my mom and I sat down we got a waitress who was already in a rush to be anywhere else. As she was taking our order my mom accidentally said Chow Fun instead of Chow mien which I caught and mention to the server about the mishap before she walked away she looked annoyed and just kept saying ok. We didn't think anything of it as we corrected it but apparently she wasn't paying attention and when the food came out we got the chow fun instead of chow mien. We told the guy who brought it out about the mishap and he apologized and went to talk to the server who came out in a rush to scold us about how we're wrong, and what we said speaking very lauding to us when my mom and I looked at her crazy because we weren't even speaking loudly. I told her i understand what we said but I mentioned how I had corrected the mishap before she walked away and she acknowledged me about it. She said I was wrong and kept wanting to argue instead of just making it right. She was not backing down and people were starting and my mom and I were just trying to have a good lunch so I told her I didn't want to argue with her but that we will not be eating the plate as we did not like chow fun. After that we never saw a server come to the table we walked to the cashier paid for everything and left. We have not been back since which is disappointing as the waitress was rude, disrespectful, always looking for a fight, and chose violence instead of making it right. I had went in with a friend Friday 5/1/26 and was extremely disappointed with the service, after being told to pick a place to sit we were only brought water no menus. A few mins later a couple more people walked in, they were seated right away, brought water and menus. Saigon is a good overall Vietnamese restaurant especially if you are new to pho. I have been coming here since I was in college at UOP and it was definitely a staple. Their beef pho is my favorite and has good flavor along with a lot of the vermicelli and rice plates. Recently tried the salt pepper shrimp which was really good and had grilled veggies with it. As I have been coming here for a long time I do feel like the pho here has digressed and isn't what it used to be. But I will say it is my fiancés favorite pho spot since she always gets veggie pho and they always make it consistent how she likes it. I will still continue to come here for pho but I do think there are better pho spots in Stockton such as mamas or the other Saigon downtown. They are always very attentive and respectful here which makes a great vibe. read more

I ordered pho with well-done beef, brisket, and beef meatballs, but what I received was pho with tendon heavy beef brisket and meatballs, completely incorrect. This order was for my toddler, so the wrong meat cuts were a serious issue. When I called the restaurant, they told me to bring it back for an exchange and said sorry, they could not do anything else. This mistake caused me major inconvenience, especially with a child, and I found their handling of the situation irresponsible. Very disappointing experience. When my husband drove back to the restaurant, the worker said they did not make any mistake. She claimed that ordering chín, nạm, bò viên can still be served with only nạm and bò viên, and said "vè giòn" is how they normally prepare it. However, my order clearly included chín, which was missing. This response felt dismissive and irresponsible, and the situation caused us major inconvenience, especially with a child. My favorites are either the seafood pho, the beef ball pho, or #54 vermicelli salad. Service: Most of the staff is limited speaking English but they make an efforts to make sure they get your order right. They are quick to bring out water, take your order and provide you with your drinks and food asap. But once you have your food, good luck getting your water refilled. Refills on soda or teas are not free, so they won't ask if you want a refill unless you get someone's attention and ask for it. If you order a soda, you'll get a can soda. Ambiance: The vibe is chill and relaxed. Once you have your food, no one bothers and you don't feel pressure to hurry out. You do have to go to the cashier to pay your tab and ask for any to-go containers you may need. Tried to go a second time a few weeks ago but they took 10 years to take our order even though it was Empty so we upped and left cuz I was hungryyyy lol anyway we go tonight because I wanted some pho real bad I got BBH and it wasn't bad at all. The broth was flavorful. Only complaint is that it wasn't hot enough to cook the rare steak I got on the side. And of course it comes frozen. Well my bf got the mango lemonade soda and it was sweet asf so I'd prefer it with a lot more ice- but it was definitely yummy. He got the rice plate and killed it. Food was good. Service was good.
