The pate is unfortunately not savory enough. It's also lacking in pepper, and the Vietnamese butter/mayo is also a bit bland. It just tastes creamy and is missing that meat flavor! The combination pate came with this sauce which was slightly savory and a little sweet. It was good and I liked it! They skimp on the proteins though, as I only had about 3 slices of cold cuts in my sandwich and not enough cilantro. You're eating more bread here than anything. The pate chaud was good, really buttery on the outside and the meat inside was tender. Flaky, but could be flakier! The service was really good, but the banh mi was just alright. A coworker of mine found this café near another restaurant we go to often, so I had to try it. As soon as I walked in it smelled like fresh bread. Lovely little hidden gem. Clean and updated interior. Not too spacious but a few spots in the corner near the entrance. Lots and lots of options! Pandan waffles are delicious treat! I've bought pâté and butter here before to make my banh mi board and it's fantastic qualify. Love the sandwiches -- some places skimp out on the meats but not here. There is an ordering kiosk which is new from when I was here last but you can still order at the counter. They've catered to our company before and it has not disappointed. This is dare I say it, the BEST bahn mi in Stockton! The value and flavor is unmatched. The sandwiches were the size of my forearm, it was epic. Most of the sandwiches are only $6.50, besides the crispy pork belly which is $8.50. I am a vegetarian so I chose the vegan sandwich and it really is packed with what I think is veggie meat, lemongrass tofu, and veggies. They give you a delicious sauce to put onto the sandwich as well which tasted like lemongrass, garlic, and chili; chef's kiss! My fiance tried the crispy pork belly sandwich and the chargrilled pork and said they were delicious as well! They also stuffed his sandwich full of meat which is awesome to see as it is priced very affordably. Vietnamese coffee was strong and sweet as it is meant to be & are the same size as a large if one was ordering at many boba places. The inside of the shop is very small so I wouldn't eat in there only because there are maybe 5 seats, so unless you are passing through, it makes more sense to take your sandwiches to go. I am hooked on their egg custard Vietnamese iced coffee! I highly recommend this one for all the coffee lovers that especially love Vietnamese coffee. They have a secret cheat code sauce that makes the sandwiches taste even 2x better! I can say this is the best proper banh mi in Stockton for sure, when you consider how well the baqueutte is baked. I've had their special combination, pork ham, and crispy pork belly banh mi. The pork belly was not crispy so I would not order that one again as it much pricier than the other sandwiches. But I really enjoyed their special combo and pork ham aka steamed pork roll (my personal favorite anywhere)! I also tried the banh bot loc and I was not a fan at all. Overall, I would still come back for their sandwiches and drinks!! It is top notch. I love that they bake their own bread. You can definitely taste the quality and the technique of baking Vietnamese baguette is spot on. It's light and crispy on the outside and not dense in the middle. I especially love the care that so clearly evident in their service, product, and packaging! One caveat is that I'd prefer they offer a drinking lid for the egg custard drink. I've had Vietnamese sandwiches before and remembered they were very tasty and made with shredded carrots, lettuce, vermicelli noodles and cilantro, which leaves a very fresh clean taste. The sandwich itself was stuffed with pork belly (sliced), lettuce, carrots, noodles and cilantro (yum). A sauce was included on the side and it added to the flavor of the sandwich. 1 sandwich for me was very filling but I had to have a couple of bites of the shrimp roll. The 2 shrimp rolls were packed with noodles, lettuce, carrots and cucumbers (they were huge). The sauce for the rolls was matched well and was delicious all together. I talked to the Lady at the counter and she said it is a family business and everything is made fresh everyday. Along with the flyer menu, they have dumplings, baked goods and specialty drinks (I got to sample a green tea-passion fruit slushie, which was delicious and perfect for the coming warm days of summer.) The business is right behind Perlu Automotive building. They don't do advertising and hope word of mouth will bring people in. I recommend this sandwich shop, which offers way more than sandwiches!
