This is a solid option for Chinese food if you're in town! I picked up food here on the way to an overnight stay at Great Wolf Lodge which was ten minutes away. The food was well packaged and they provided plates and utensils. I'm not familiar with Manteca so as I was driving through the neighborhood I was a little scared to go down by myself because the restaurant was located downtown next to a bar. But I had no need to worry! The owner was very friendly and told me the restaurant has been there for over 30 years, they make everything fresh, including the handmade chili paste. They only do to go service- no sit down option. The food was hot and fresh. We ordered the Mongolian beef, general's chicken, orange chicken, salt and pepper pork chop, house fried rice, and house chow mein. Everything was yummy. Beware- the salt and pepper pork chop and the general's chicken has a spicy zip to it. Give them a try if you're craving good Chinese food!

I definitely like the wonton soups better, but then American Chinese food is my least fave Asian food. Combo plates are huge. Plus the food isn't greasy, not so great is you get a LOT of rice & noodles and not so much meat. Next time I'll order a 1 combo plate and 1 main dish. Kept calling and couldn't get through, ended up going there and ordering and it took at least 30 minutes before we got our food. Learn the best way to get your food is to order online for pick up.

I always call them what I ordered. I went there to pick up but I had to wait for less than 5 minutes when they were done to make for me

They don't let you substitute any of their chicken combination plates with a different chicken meat.

The grilled pork chop was very tasty, and the best part of the plate. The shredded pork was not what I expected - it almost looked like tripe and was kind of tasteless. Similarly, the egg came in a cube and was more of a frittata. My biggest issue though is with the service. My husband's pho came out almost immediately, about 20 minutes before the next dish. So we all sat and watched him eat. The other 3 dishes also came out at different times. The chow fun that I ordered for the kids was 50% bean sprouts, and very oily.

I walked in at 10:30am and was immediately asked "to go?" by a lady standing at the register. I replied that I wanted to dine in and was told that there was a big order so they were only taking to go orders. The restaurant was completely empty since they only opened at 10am. I read other people on Yelp sharing similar reviews but at later times in the day so I thought maybe they were isolated incidents, but apparently this is only a to-go only establishment at this point. If you plan on dining in, I'd suggest going to a different restaurant in the area for your Pho craving which is what I did. The place that I ended up at was packed with people when I got there at around 11am but they gladly served us some great food. Very disappointed in this experience.

Mind you they're open until 9:00. First time trying to eat here, and not a great impression. I try not to go to restaurants in their last half hour of service so I thought that with close over an hour away, I'd be ok. In case you didn't know, getting pho to go is cumbersome because I still have to reheat the broth at home and assemble everything in a bowl. I just wasn't in the mood to cook at all. Maybe I'll give this place another chance but I'll be sure to get there many hours before close to have a chance at being able to sit in and eat. I instead went all the way to Tracy to go to my usual spot (Saigon) and was sat right away at about 8:07 pm.

They were served with more of a hoisin-style sauce instead of the typical peanut sauce. A little different, but still had good flavor overall. My dad ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was much bigger than what you usually get at other places. He said it was really good and definitely filling. ($6.95) I ordered the mild beef stew pho. It wasn't quite what I'm used to--the meat wasn't the typical stew cut and had more fat and gristle, with only a few pieces of beef. It wasn't my favorite, but the broth itself had good flavor. It also came with rice noodles, carrots, and even a couple pieces of lettuce, which was a bit different. Looking around, other dishes coming out looked really good. I'd definitely come back to try one of their sandwiches next time. Service was quick approx 30 seats. The ambiance was casual and welcoming clean, relaxed, and a comfortable spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. Nothing fancy, but it had a nice local feel.

Even when the chicken is moist it's unfortunate the taste is lacking often. My guess is that they prepare the food far in advance and just reheat the food as needed; sometimes there to go orders are ready way too quick so quality suffers. Also their fish sauce doesn't do it for me. It has no zing compared to those that other restaurants have. This is a pretty small restaurant but they manage to fit a decent number of tables. One of the few things that have going for them is that they are cheap. I feel like $11+ tax for a grilled chicken rice plate is unheard of these days. And they don't skimp out on the chicken, it's a good portion size.
