First time getting something to eat from this spot. I chose the Japanese curry chicken cutlet. The taste of the curry was good. It was savory and full flavored. I just wish the curry wasn't so thick. There wasn't much to spread/pour on the rice. There was a good amount of onions and potatoes in the curry though. Again, I wish the curry sauce was a little bit more thin so I could have the rice soak up the taste of the curry. The chicken cutlet was a little overcooked and dry but had good flavor in my opinion. I didn't have much curry to pour on the chicken cutlet so I had to mop up as much curry sauce as I could. The curry was provided in a separate container so that was good. Very little mess and the rice portion was a decent amount to finish everything on the plate. I wanted to try it but I'm not so sure I'd order again as I used to a more thinner curry sauce. read more

Worst service tonight, ordering 18minutes before we arrived coming back from a function, wife had to wait 34 minutes to get the food. Bring it back and the #114 was to be garlic rice and it ended up with tomato in it. I hate tomatoes. Called the place to correct and they hung up on me after several attempts to ask for manager. read more

Tucked in a strip mall across Home Depot, this quaint pho place has a lot of options from sugar free boba, banh mi, vermicelli bowls and rice plates. The menu has photos and the walls have hella more photos. Six pieces of garlic soy wings run $15 and take 15 minutes. He had the chicken pho and I had the beef and brisket pho. This is the best Pho or noodle house in Tracy, CA period!!! Always come here with the fam and have big dinners here. I usually get the Dac Biet pho(special), Bun Rieu, or Bun Bo Hue. YES they have these which are pretty good and not easy to find and I was surprised that they had it. Probably the only place in Tracy that has it. For what it is and for Tracy standards this is the TOP place in Tracy. I've tried other spots in Tracy and come from San Jose where the Pho is unmatched. This is the spot in Tracy. If I could eat here everyday I would. Saigon is a cozy restaurant offering many dishes. Most Vietnamese places have an endless menu with a variety of offerings and Saigon is no different. However, they also offer Japanese and Korean dishes as well, and even some Chinese! Plastered on the wall is pictures of menu items and rotating specials to have your mouth watering before you decide what to get. The staff came to our table quickly and took our order and minutes later the food came out. Be careful, the food will come out piping hot. I went with a classic, seeing as it was my first time here. Spicy lemongrass chicken. The first thing I noticed was their rice was perfect. It had the perfect texture that I'm not used to seeing at lots of places. The chicken was spicy and sweet I couldn't put it down it was so great. I also tried a chicken wing and it was my kind of thing. Garlicky, covered in sauce and extra crunchy. This is one our favorite spots for Vietnamese food. Love their vermicelli bowl with beef onion rolls. I especially love their fried tofu - don't skip on that!! It has great lemongrass flavor and compliments well with the dipping sauce. I can probably eat that as an entree. I also recommend their coconut Vietnamese coffee. Met my sibling for dinner here one weekday evening. I picked the place purely based on my convenience (the alternative was to eat somewhere in Turlock - no thanks!). The parking lot was kind of full-ish when I got there. The spots are pretty small, so watch out and be careful! I ordered the vermicelli with pork and egg roll (the typical bun thit nuong chia gio) and my sibling had the pork chop over rice. Honestly, being my first restaurant I was trying in Tracy (ever) and living in the OC (where Viet food is the best), I wasn't expecting much; however, it was pretty decent! The meat was cooked well and had nice flavor, veggies were fresh and plentiful, and the portion size was pretty big for the price. I would make this a regular meeting spot for dinner with my sibling if I'm ever in the area again (over anything in Modesto/Turlock for sure). read more

Found this restaurant on Yelp on our way home from San Jose. Arrived on a Tuesday around 1 pm. We were seated right away. No wait. My daughter and I tried their pho. The broth was good but the noodles were kind of hard. Wished they cook it a little longer. Their menu is extensive! They have Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese foods too. I've driven past this place so many times and finally decided to give it a try--and wow, what a surprise! This spot is a legit hidden gem. The menu is packed with options, and everything looked delicious. I ordered the oxtail pho, and it was absolutely off the charts. Rich, flavorful broth with two huge oxtail pieces--though I'll be honest, I was wishing for like five bones because it was that good. My wife stepped out of her pho comfort zone and tried a tomato-based noodle soup that had flavors that reminded us of Filipino mechado. Not our usual, but definitely interesting and worth trying if you're in the mood for something different. As a big coffee drinker, I have a soft spot for Vietnamese coffee, and they nailed it here. I got the Biscoff coffee (one of their top drinks), and it hit the spot perfectly--creamy, sweet, and strong. My wife tried the blueberry matcha, and it was super yummy and refreshing. Fried Chicken Rice (3/5): I really wanted to like this because it looked really crispy and flavorful on the menu. But the chicken didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping, wasn't crispy, was dry, and the rice just tasted like butter. This one was $16 which I didn't think was worth it. Portions great, price reasonable and soup was delicious. Really good. I won't call it a complaint but the spicy beef noodle wasn't spicy at all. There was a red pepper next to it on the menu so I thought I should be careful even though l love spicy food. My guess is the server looked at me and thought I couldn't handle the heat and told the cook to tone the spice down to zero. My clue was she asked me if I wanted a fork- probably thought I hadn't done this before. I'm a chopsticks guy. A few big scoops of the spicy sauce on the table and problem solved I had my spicy noodles. Still- delicious food, excellent service, I'll be back for sure. Me and my family have been going to this place for years. This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Central Valley. I'll say that this is a nice oasis in the desert. Most if not all god-tier like Vietnamese/pho restaurants are going to be near SJ - and I'll say that this place has GREAT quality in making me feel like I'm eating pho to cure my hangover. Service is outstanding for high volume of customers. Ambiance is awesome because they have a bunch of pictures of the menu on the wall. That churro ice cream desert just teasing you all meal. Pho is usually where its at here but all the signature dishes you can't go wrong. Shaken beef is nice. Latest try is the pad thai with fried chicken. Honestly, I didn't think I would finish it all because I'm not really a fried chicken person only because it sounds weird with pad thai. But the pad thai is an underrated pick. The noodles were thin and the sauce/coating was perfectly lathered. It was actually better than most pad thai spots I've had in the City/SF. Shoutout to the chef. We like getting the spring rolls and fried egg rolls. We did cave in to the churro ice cream, and you get what you expect for $5. We used it as a nice sweet bite for all of us to share. I came here many times but today was a my disappointment day. They served Pho with no bean sprouts! This is like serving a pizza with no toppings. To me I would rather eat something else, not eating pho without bean sprouts! I want to send this message to the manager or owner that when he decides to serve pho without bean sprouts, you don't care about your business and you will lose customers. No there is excuse for you to say "We are running out of bean sprouts at 11:30 in the morning" There are many places in Tracy that you can get bean sprouts from temporarily until you get your regular supply like Save Mark or Safe Way. But you don't want to do that just tell your customers who ordered Pho that their pho will come with no bean sprouts. I had a hard time deciding between two items because I didn't want to be disappointed. The server was nice enough to recommend the oxtail pho and it ended up being great.
