Was in the area and decided to pick up some papa urbs. Customer service was great as usual. The wait for the food was maybe 10 minutes. Picked up some sisig empanadas, a bistek rice plate, and an order of papa's noodle. Everything was very tasty and delicious. Found a couple newfound favorites. A favorite small dining spot in the area!
A hometown favorite of mine! I grew up getting the Sisig fries, but their menu has expanded since my high school days. I grabbed the Kalderata rice plate and a Lychee-coconut calamari's cooler!
So I made an order over the phone, no issues with that. food was ready at the time it was promised. Parking is difficult since its a small parking lot shared with many other businesses and high traffic. The restaurant is pretty small, not a lot of indoor seating. When we arrived the staff greeted us and the food was ready. Went to the car and try the food while it was still fresh and we were pretty disappointed. Ordered sinigan and it did not taste like sinigan at all. Tasted like it had old pork ribs and the broth had no sour component at all. Broth tasted as if it was just the pork boiled with light seasoning... not actually sinigan. The lumpias were as expected, nothing great about them. For the price, I expected something better. Probably wont be going back.
I tried their sisig for about $10.50. Coming from San Francisco, the price was definitely good, but the ratio felt off. They give you a big pile of fries, but barely enough urb sauce or sisig to go with it, so you end up eating mostly plain fries. It would've been way better if the toppings matched the amount of fries so every bite had flavor. The staff was chill and laid-back, which I liked--it gave the place a cool and easy vibe. There are also a few tables inside to sit which was nice.
Good flavors and I didn't have to wait long! There is limited seating and parking, so I would be prepared to order to-go for my next visit. If you do manage to get a table, there are some Filipino decor and snacks for purchase.
OMG. So sad to hear this place closed! We drive from out of town just to get their pork belly plate. Glad we got to introduce it to our kids before they closed. Food business is not easy! We hope to see them reopen again soon!
We were stopping by on the way down to SoCal when we decided to stop by Tracy to try out this Filipino establishment that is supposedly known for their lechon. It is a small establishment but we were able to sit down and get a quick lunch in before getting back on the road. We got a lechon kawali over rice w/ egg and a sisig fries. The lechon was not super fatty (a good thing) and the sisig fries with grilled veggies over fries was suprisingly good, especially the sauce that they had for it. Would definitely come again if we were ever in the area.
Food: We got the sisig fries and pork lumpia! Quite literally hands down the most amazing thing I've tasted in a long time!! I love trying new foods and this place did not miss. Service: Amazing! Greeted with a smile and friendly faces in there. You feel really immersed with the culture if you eat inside too!

Although there's not a whole lot of interior seating, (6-8 small tables) I decided to dine in today. Service was pretty fast and brought to my table. ko....ito ay napakasarap! Oh my goodness, it was really delicious! I had forgotten how flavorful the tocino really is here, and as I mentioned to a first time patron of Papa Urb's who was picking up her order, understand that this isn't traditional food of the Pilipinas, but its more of a fusion of such, and its uniquely delicious. Either you're going love it or not. My bet is you're going to fall in love with it. So if you're over in T-town, please swing through and grab a bite at Papa Urb's.
This was a small Filipino food restaurant. The food was pretty good. The service was great and the food came out in a reasonable time. The lumpia was kind of skinny and it seemed like they didn't know of some of the dishes we have in Hawaii. The one disappointment was the Halo Halo. I am so used to Magnolia ice cream Halo Halo that this one was not even in the same ballpark. The ice was rough, not sweet enough and in general had less ingredients - although it did look good.
Hello, I was in the area and looking for a good bite to eat. I stumbled across this place as a good option. Upon arrival, I had a little trouble finding parking. There's multiple businesses there so parking is limited even with In-N-Out being next door, doesn't help much. Once I entered, I noticed it's a pretty tiny spot. Not ideal for groups. There's about 3 tables inside where each can hold 4 people, so max is 12 people. Their menu did include a lot of traditional Filipino food from pancit, chicken adobo, sisig, lumpia's and more. I got the sisig fries and it was good. I thought the sisig had a good taste and I did enjoy the sauce it came with. Overall, it was okay. The food was great and the workers are friendly but it's definitely a more takeout spot due to the size of the place.
It's summertime and I had a craving for halo halo. Naturally Yelp helped with finding a few places. Since it was lunchtime I figured I would try a few things. I would pass on the sisig fries. It tasted dry, even with the Urb sauce and the pork was not crispy. Chicken adobe tasted authentic and packed a ton of flavor. The longonisa plate was good but why wouldn't it be. Parking lot gets really full. The air conditioning wasn't working or perhaps they don't have it at all so the hot summer day was seeping into the small dining room. No bathroom. If you're looking for Filipino food, this place is just all right.

We arrived at 5:39 PM, well before their posted closing time of 6:00 PM. When we placed our order, the cashier said it would take about 10 minutes, which was totally fine. At 5:50 PM, once our food was ready, the cashier asked if we wanted it to-go or to dine in. We chose to dine in, thinking we had time to enjoy our meal. Not even 10 minutes later, while we were still eating, the same cashier came over and said, "Sorry, it's 6 PM--we have to close up. You can't eat here anymore." Honestly, I was shocked. Why even offer the dine-in option if we were just going to be kicked out moments later? If we had been told, "Just a heads-up, we close at 6 and you'll need to leave by then," we would've totally understood and taken our food to-go. But there was no warning--just an awkward interruption while we were in the middle of our meal. We ended up finishing our food in our car parked across the street, which was definitely not the relaxing dinner we had in mind. What's even more confusing is that we were here about a month ago, ordered at the same time, and the male cashier working then allowed us to dine in and didn't rush us out after closing. So the experience was inconsistent and left a bad taste in our mouths--not from the food, but from the customer service. If the policy is to close at 6 PM sharp and have all dine-in customers out by then, maybe consider updating the posted hours to 5:30 PM to avoid situations like this. Or at least give a clear heads-up when asking customers if they want to dine in so we can make an informed choice. As much as we love the food, I don't think we'll be coming back. It's hard to enjoy a meal when you feel rushed and unwelcome.
Sad Papa Urb's is closing! A staple in Filipino fusion in the Central Valley will be missed. Thank you for the Sisig Fries memories through the years and the free ice cream the last day open on Friday 3/13/26. My kids grew up into young adulthood with Papa Urbs in their orbit. So thankful for your 15 years! Good luck to the Papa Urbs fam!! Much love and respect. read more
I ordered the pancit, lumpia and sisig tacos on my first stop in. I loved that the tacos had fresh jalapeno on them, as they added a nice crunch and heat to the taco. It was definitely a dish I'd consider ordering again. The lumpia didn't hit my "favorite" list- but it does hit the "like" list at least! I think the large corn kernels/peas just through me off a bit being that they were most prominent. I've driven by this establishment countless times telling myself I'd try them one day- they're definitely worth the stop. read more
I didn't know what to expect from Papa Urb's Grill but it looked interesting. After I saw the high flames from the grill. I knew had to try the chicken Inasal which had a good marinade of lemongrass. The pork lumpia was crispy and fried well. 3 tables inside The prices are reasonable. Parking lot is a mess. Definitely will be back when in the area. read more

It's been awhile since I've eaten here and I'm happy to report that the food is still delicious! The sisig fries are still my favorite thing to order. I've noticed they added crispy sweet potato on top. The fries are thin and crispy and the sisig is juicy. And all the sauces plus the sweet potato make it a well-composed dish that's full of flavor. The sisig empanadas were pretty good! The dough was bread-y, in a good way, because it wasn't too thick. And it was stuffed with sisig. I liked the bit of heat from their hot sauce, which I think is sriracha. One order comes with 2 empanadas that are cut in half. It's definitely a shareable item. We also got the pancit, to my surprise also comes with lumpia. I like the mix of egg and glass noodles. It had a lot of veggies so this is a good way to eat your veggies lol. We also got lychee calamansi refresher, which was refreshing even on a mild winter day. There's not much seating inside, probably around 6 seats total. But it seems most people order online for pick up. We did dine in and got our food pretty quickly. And service was great! They made sure we were well taken care of. I'm so glad Papa Urb's has survived the pandemic. It's one of the few unique restaurants in Tracy. They're also right off the freeway so it's easy to get to if you're on a road trip. Though, parking there is horrendous. It's next to In n Out, so it can get really crowded, especially since it's a narrow driveway. And the McDonald's construction doesn't help either. It might be easier to park across the street and walk over. read more

Was looking for a unique eat while in the Tracy area. Though I wasn't able to try more items on the menu, the sisig fries and lumpia were delish! Sisig fries: I ordered the sauce on the side. The cashier asked me 3 times, THREE times if I wanted to purchase extra sauce. I should've listened. Urb's aioli is the bomb! I could drink it. Sisig was tender and flavorful. Sweet potato slivers added a nice color. Fries were perfect. Not too thick, did not over power the Sisig or sauce. 2 thumbs up on this! Lumpia: got the pork. Good and basic. Next time I will try the other ones. We came 30 mins before closing (5:30) cashier was prob tired and ready to go home - not very friendly and grumpy. Rating on the food (2 items) and the Urb sauce - 5 stars. read more

I'd love to come back :) and taste the rest of the menu. Kalamansi Cooler was lovely. And I understand why the Sisig Fries are talk of the town. The Sisig Empanada killed it for me though with it's texture and sauce!! My family visiting from abroad ordered food in addition to this as well to-go The service was quick enough though I've experienced quicker. Notjing super remarkable about friendliness or warmth of the people, but the art on the wall is authentic and meaningful. See you again soon read more
We have dined here a handful of times through the years and were excited to order their well-loved sisig fries once again. We also ordered the tocini wrap and pork belly adobo. The sisig fries were just as scrumptious as we remembered. It's a large portion of fries with some yummy protein, a couple sliced yam chips and special urb sauce on top. My tocino wrap was truly delicious. It is filled with a lot of protein, cabbage, cucumber, and tomato all rolled up in a spinach tortilla. I had to take half home. My husband's plate was not what he ordered. The second item on their menu is pork belly adobo but his plate came with chicken. We were perplexed so we asked the lady at the counter and she said they don't serve pork belly adobo (odd, because it's on the menu). My husband had his heart set on pork belly so he ordered a side of BBQ pork belly. It was a good serving of little pork chunks but the texture was a little tough. My husband liked it better on the second day. There always seems to be a steady flow of people coming through this little place. Their food is quite delicious. Located right off of hwy 580 in a congested parking lot with In-N-Out and several other businesses. read more
I still keep coming back!! Going today when they open actually! I noticed my review from 5 years ago and thought I should add a new one with all my other already posted pictures. I'm still happy with the portions, price and the great staff at this location. I sometimes need help to bring my order to the car since I walk with a cane and the staff is happy to help. We had an amazing lunch here! The food prices are very reasonable, making it even better. The sinigang was absolutely fantastic--it had such a vibrant flavor! I can only imagine how incredible it would be with a bit more meat. Can't wait to go back for more! read more

Sisig here should be prescribed by a doctor. Health benefits for me... elevates happiness. After having their sisig tacos and their sisig fries, we concluded that you can't go wrong with sisig anything on their menu. You can't get enough of those pieces of char-grilled goodness! Speaking of that pork goodness, their Pork Belly over rice dish was also a force to be reckoned with. The tender pieces of fatty pork- with some crispy sections paired well with the red onion toppings. In fact, one of the best bites I've had was in this dish, scooping everything (Pork-rice-egg-red onion-all purpose sauce) all balanced on one big spoon, all in one bite. It's like an orchestra was playing in my mouth. Their Tocino Wrap was unexpectedly large, perfect for sharing. It's basically a salad in a spinach wrap with large pieces of sweet-seasoned pork shoulder. The refreshing chipotle dressing was a highlight for me. The Adobo quesadilla was interesting in a good way. It took me a minute to accept the Adobo taste with cheese. Their authentic Dinuguan dish was yummy and plentiful. This blood stew almost mimicked my mom's version. She would definitely approve! Can't wait to try other authentic dishes here like their Kare Kare and Sinigang. See you soon, Papa Urb! read more

Been here twice already because of the sisig empanadas which me and my daughter loved and then the kalamansi juice is so refreshing and right amount of sweetness then the sisig fries is so delicious that my boys really devoured the 2 orders , even though one order is big enough for two people still one order for each of them but they gave some to me coz i love it also.. the cashier there is so nice also which I forgot her name..will be back there again to try more unique foods..sorry for the pictures coz we're so hungry that we started eating before i could take some decent one.. read more

Imagine that, 9 yrs later, we move to the lovely town of Tracy. Now Papa Urb's is just a hop, skip, and a jump from our home. The quality of their food has stayed consistent over the years! Today we had the Tocino wrap, Adobo Quesadilla, Sisig fries, and Turon. They won't disappoint so give them a try, and support local businesses read more
Place has been bookmarked for a looong time, had a salon appt nearby and I finally stopped in to give it a try. Maybe it was two days of Thanksgiving food but the Tapas was OMG yummy, I was eating like it was my last meal and only slowed down after noticing folks at In & Out watching me! Ordered Sisig Fries for the Babes who promptly vetoed the fries and wanted my Tapas. Luckily it was enough to share, you get two scoops of rice, salad, fried egg and marinated tender pieces of beef with onions. Sisig fries were very hearty with lots of grilled meat that is more mild flavored. What makes the dish is the sauce, glad I got an extra sauce and added vinegar. The crispy sweat potato topping is pretty but didn't add to the dish. I ended up removing them and eating them separately. Food is a 5 but the place is only a walk up counter with only a couple of tables outside so not convenient if you're passing through. Staff was friendly but I let the person at the counter know I was sitting outside at the tables, waited a while and went in to find my food in a bag waiting?! Place is small as in 2 yards from the counter to the front door and there were several folks working, guess I should've confirmed they would bring the food to me instead of assuming. They're very conveniently located just off of 205 on Tracy Blvd in the same parking lot as In-N-Out burger and Starbucks, which also makes it difficult to navigate around all the folks going through drive-through for both locations. But it was worth nearly being sideswiped by a group of teenagers in a Hyundai desperate to get in front of me to wait in drive through for In & Out. read more

Tocino wrap! Huge portions of protein wrapped in a fresh tortilla. Loved the sauce that comes with it. Lumpia was flavorful. Definitely different from what I've had before but I enjoyed it. My sis got the pork belly and said it was nice and juicy. Great customer service as well. Can't wait to go back! read more

Been here multiple times on the way to camping or snowboarding and it always hits the spot! I was glad to be able to make it before closing time today and saw that they have some new menu items. I got the pork belly sandwich and Papa's noodles. Both were very tasty and the portion size is generous. We will be back again next time ~ read more

My wife and I came yesterday to try some of the food and we had a pretty good experience. They have enough items on their food to definitely represent Filipino food to the herbal public. There's no food in the front which means they most likely cook it from the back. The employees are all fairly young I noticed so I was hoping the food would come out somewhat authentic and flavorful. The food did indeed turn out good. Let's start off with their sinigang. We enjoyed this but there was enough tangy taste to it (flavorful sour taste). There wasn't enough meat or veggies either which was a bummer. I did love their lechon kawali but they only served my like 8 pieces that were small. Same goes for their sisig; small amount but tasted really good. Traditionally, these items are served in a huge to-go bowl but their items here are mainly for single serving. You definitely can't share an item that's for sure. For the price, I'd think they'd serve more and give it to you in a bigger bowl but this was not the case. It bugged me because I'm from the San Jose / Santa Clara (South Bay) area, and most of the Filipino places serve lots more that's why I was surprised when we came to Tracy. I may have to just try ordering the entree without rice and see if the portion is more. For dessert, we did enjoy their halo halo which was served in a big cup and this was great. I'd definitely come back again but it pains me to have such small servings. read more
