The lot was half empty. No wait, no circling, no negotiating for a table. That matters here, because nearly everything written about this place describes peak brunch... the waits, the reservations, the packed dining room. They open at 8. The hour after that belongs to whoever bothers to show up early. The food held up its end. My crepe came out hot, folded under a runny fried egg with a cream sauce and scallions, and it was exactly what I want out of a Sunday morning plate. Four stars. If the brunch rush is what's kept you away, come early. Same kitchen, none of the chaos.

Wow, so delicious with the spices, the tangy cheese, the creamy egg, and the dough which was tender and flaky. Eggplant 'steak', also a banger. So many different flavors and textures presented in one delicious dish. And the lamb shank. Holy crap, one of the best meals I've had, period. The meat itself is meltingly tender and perfectly seasoned. All of the other stuff on the plate, the dill rice, the red stuff, crispy chickpeas, fava beans, some green sauce and parsely, it might sound like too much but it works so perfectly. Each bite containing a whole odyssey of textures and intense flavors. We got the signature dessert, a nest of phyllo with cardamom mousse, saffron syrup, fresh raspberries and more I'm forgetting. An absolute show stopper, and perfect with a turkish coffee. Even the turkish delight that came with the coffee was delicious. Service was helpful, prompt, and abundantly kind. This might be the best fine dining ROC has to offer.

Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating, and their kindness really stood out throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, and you could tell a lot of thought and care went into each plate. I tasted the Khachapuri flat bread, Wild Mushrooms, Lamb Lollipops, Kurobuta Pork Chop and the Braised Lamb Shank. Also pictured, the Duck Risotto and the Tomahawk steak. Between the exceptional service, delicious food, and inviting atmosphere, this was a truly memorable dining experience. I would absolutely recommend it for a special occasion or simply a great meal, and I'll definitely be back.

My husband is a big fan of the wedge salad, and the French onion soup is also excellent. The service and atmosphere are generally very enjoyable, but the only downside on our last visit was the live music. Other than that, the food and overall experience are excellent, and we'll definitely keep coming back.

The hostess and our server knew it was our anniversary from the reservation and wished us a happy anniversary right away. There was even a beautiful "Happy Anniversary" sign waiting for us on the table. The owner also stopped by personally to wish us a happy anniversary, and they surprised us with two small glasses of complimentary champagne. It was such a lovely way to start the evening. We ordered the panzanella salad, street corn, and a large, shareable ribeye with potatoes. Everything was superb--truly excellent. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was romantic and low-key, and the entire experience was outstanding. They struck the perfect balance of making us feel celebrated without being over the top. For dessert, we had the funfetti cake, which was absolutely divine. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our evening and can't wait to go back to Angelina's!

I look forward to trying from the fall and winter menus as well. I'll definitely be trying a dessert next time. Their s'mores one and funfetti cake both sounded delicious. I was too full from the appetizers and dinner to attempt a third course.

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

The duck was succulent and roasted just enough. The Brussel sprouts that came on the side were a disappointment though. For dessert, I ordered ricotta pine nut tart with lemon sorbet. The tart was very subtle in flavor but good. My friends ordered the bread pudding which was great as well. Overall, very satisfied with the food and service. Can be back!

We were quoted about a 40-minute wait for a table, but told bar seating might open up sooner (around 30 minutes). They took my number and we stepped outside to take a walk around the block while we waited. We ended up getting a text about the bar seat availability in about 15 minutes. Once we got seated at the bar, things turned around quickly. The space has a really cozy, intimate vibe with dim lighting, warm atmosphere and overall it feels thoughtfully put together. We ordered hot toddies to drink, which were perfect for the weather, and for food we got the Japanese sweet potatoes and the cavolo nero pesto. Both dishes were incredibly delicious - flavorful and well-balanced. Just be prepared for a wait (and maybe stay nearby instead of wandering off), but once you're in, it's a great experience!

It's a small space inside but it's designed well enough to manage a flow of traffic for customers and staff. We sat in the back greenhouse area. I think the least enjoyable part of our experience was how loud it was in the restaurant. Definitely not a good spot if you're trying to catch up with someone and your voice doesn't carry. I couldn't actually hear the specials the server was telling us. I want to try out Vern's again, so I may wait until there's an outdoor table or ask to sit in the second level to see if that's quieter. We tried one of their spring menu appetizer items, the Japanese sweet potatoes with kimchi ranch and dill. One bite and I was addicted, these were so so good. We then moved on to the classics for entrees -- bee sting pizza and the ragu-- and we were amazed at how good everything was! The only note we had was about the pizza, it was very soggy in the middle but still edible if you rolled it over in itself. We also had a few cocktails, and while they were somewhat small, you could tell they weren't watered down in any way. Two drinks was more than enough for me. Overall it was a great experience and we want to try it again. If you're someone who struggles to enjoy a meal out where you can't hear much, maybe wait for outdoor tables.

The salmon was good, but should be listed as an appetizer. It's under the word 'grand' on the menu which literally means 'big.' Besides being a tiny portion, the sides were only for aesthetic purposes, not for feeding humans. The plate was pretty but not fulfilling. No need to return.
