Food and service are top notch. The restaurant has a warm ambiance, its a memorable place for a good meal with a french accent.

Wow. The dinner was amazing and the service was excellent. From beginning to end, our experience was superb. The scallop and lobster seafood cake was delightful. There was a sweet tomato jam on top to offset the saltiness from the topping of bacon. The coleslaw underneath was seasoned well and complimented the flavor as a whole. I had a taste of the cassoulet which was homemade sausage, pork belly, and duck confit on top of beans. The flavorful beans tied the meats together and were soft and crispy. I ordered the shoulder steak with a whiskey cream sauce that came with a side of frites (shoestring fries). I could've drank the sauce alone. It was absolutely delish on the steak. The chef wants to change up the steak special occassionally but hoping he keeps this one coming back. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese which was delicious as well. The creme brulee tasted good but could aesthetically be better if in a different bowl. My hubby raved about the French 1759 (light and refreshing) and French Connection (likes cognac) cocktails. The place has been open for less than 6 months and based on last night's experience, I'm expecting them to do very well. Can't wait to try brunch! What a fantastic new addition! read more

Just enjoyed a lovely Sunday Brunch at the Peppered Pig! Started off with Bloody Mary's- super delicious, spicy homemade bloody Mary mix ! Then had the Croque Madame, a wonderful twist on a breakfast sandwich. We also enjoyed avocado toast- and a pork belly breakfast sandwich at our table. We tried this restaurant for Sunday Brunch. After a 40 minute wait, our food arrived: Duck Hash was dry and cold, potatoes and eggs were stone cold, toast was untoasted. The Croque Madame had no compt and the egg on top was hard and cold. The only good thing was server, who did her best. The restaurant was full but understaffed. Best place ever. Scratch kitchen. Lunch-dinner-brunch. You name it they got it. Menu rotates with the seasons. Hollandaise is made from scratch and you can taste it if you order brunch on Sunday. we had a reservation for 10:30 on Father's Day. We were seated right away. (Mind you they opened at 10:00) It was not quite busy yet... ordered our food at 10:45. Again brunch... French toast for 3 and an omelet for 1. It wasn't until 11:25 when my dad asked how much longer. Got coffee refills after asking 3 times and 20 minutes. Food has finally arrived... my poor dad's omelet and hash browns were cold. French toast was good. But it is really hard to screw up French toast! So overall the experience was not great. Went here on a date night and it did not disappoint. Had heard good things from friends but everything was fantastic from the duck confit, to the fries and tarragon aioli, to the burger and drink selection. Simple yet elevated food that's executed expertly. We can't wait to go back and try something else as well as save room for dessert, but we couldn't stop eating those fries this time. The Peppered Pig blew my tastebuds in such a delightful way. Anything french excites me and this is the closest I'v ever been in Rochester. My wife and I finally take a quick break from our kids to have a date night. The chill and elegant environment is what we were looking for -- this is that spot. Looks isn't everything of corse, let's get to the good stuff! We started with scallop and lobster sea food cake. Presentation was beautiful, the taste was great wether you combine all the elements of the dish or eat it separately. I recommend organizing each bit with a little sea food paddy, coleslaw and that sweet tomato based sauce on top. While enjoying the appetizer I washed it down with the cocktail called "French 1759". Extremely refreshing, the mix of Champaign, gin, light simple syrup and lemon was a great combination. Next My wife ordered steak de jour and frites. This is a shoulder cut sliced in strips laid together on one side of the plate coated with a delicious creamy white sauce. The other side of the plate had the mountain of frites. I'm a big fan of ketchup and fries, but the garlic aioli made me completely forget of that red substance. Moving on to my dish, I ordered cassoulet. In addition we ordered a side of mac and cheese. Not the standard cheddar, but swiss. I was a bit afraid of the strong swiss flavor, but my fears were defeated with a great balance of ingredients. The presentation of these dishes were very nice. The cassoulet has a homey feel to it. The entire entree was in a small pot sitting on a plate. It consisted of a rectangle cut of pork belly, duck confit, home made sausage sitting on a bed of beans. Both dishes were completely satisfying! Including the second cocktail I ordered, "French connection". The French connection is stronger than french 1759, it's an even mixer of both cognac and amaretto -- I loved it. So the night couldn't get better, right? Wrong, it got way better. We finished by ordering dessert -- Creme brûlée. This was the cherry on top. Custard was smooth and creamy as it should and the layer of caramelized sugar provided the right crunch it needed. Last but not least, the staff was very nice and outgoing. We did not feel bothered at all and they were always there any second we needed them. We even met the chief/owner to express how happy and satisfied we were because of him and his team. I highly recommend The Peppered Pig to anyone! read more

Two thumbs way up for this new hot spot in Rochester! I'm so glad we have this new option in town- the food does not disappoint. My wife and I shared a beet salad which was one of the best I've tasted in town. I had the duck confit, which was nice and juicy. My wife, seeing the "lighter fare" menu, ordered the bouillabaisse, which was a healthy size. The apple tart, prepared with a thin layer of pastry and a caramel sauce was scrumptious! Went to a group work dinner there last night served buffet style. I have been to France many times and actually was never a big fan of the food I've had so I wasn't expecting to love it but OMG...it was amazing. I didn't think I liked quiche but this quiche was just the most delicious, creamy, light thing I've ever tasted. Not eggy, but creamy almost like cheesecake but not sweet and lighter. Gourmet grilled cheese, the tomato jam, the figs, the Brussel sprouts...just all delicious. The server who handled our large party was happy, funny, upbeat, and didn't forget a thing. The place is in a small, nondescript plaza but don't let that stop you. Definitely stop in to check it out for yourself. I will definitely be back soon! read more

So I have really had some bad luck on Grubhub with food being cold or overpriced or different than I ordered. I usually just shrug and let it go. With the Peppered Pig I just want to scream from the mountain tops on how good the food was! Not only was it all correct, but delicious. Cassoulet - delicious Quiche - delicious Creme Brûlée - delicious Now me telling you the food was yummy is one thing, but the presentation was also on point! Seriously, I understand creme brûlée to go isn't optimal, but they did a great job on everything! Also, for those of you missing a nice cocktail to go with dinner the piggy has you covered! In perfectly sealed 8 oz bottles we enjoyed some tasty libations from the comfort of home. I can't wait to visit them when they are open. read more
