Chicken Maison
Angela O.

Absolutely love the Brie plate appetizer. My boyfriend had the Sesame Salmon with Brown Rice and streamed green beans and carrots. I had the Chicken Maison with delicious petite potatoes with steamed green beans and carrots. Ofcoarse my boyfriend had to get the oysters appetizer. We were too full for dessert, but got it to go. Chocolate Raspberry Torte, and I got the absolute awesome Vietnamese meringue torte

Chocolate mousse cup. Exquisite

A quiet out of the way place in a strip mall in Henrietta but what a gem!! Bright welcoming smiles from professionally dressed servers . Polite and attentive throughout our meal( we had Janet, she was fabulous) .Very nice menu with a wide selection and the presentation of the food was beautiful. And with our group of 5 EVERYONE enjoyed their entree. And the desserts are well worth the visit alone... simply gorgeous and scrumptious. I will also say I am a germaphobe and this place was so fastidiously clean. I live in Syracuse but any time I can I will stop here.

It was so nice to return to a place I frequented years ago. When you walk in there is a huge display of desserts. We ordered soup and sandwich. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable. We were too full for dessert, now I'll have to go back!!!

The ambience was amazing. It was so quaint and so personal having great conversations with my girlfriends. The service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My Chicken French, brewed chai tea with vanilla syrup, chocolate tiramisu torte, and strawberry cheesecake was so delicious and so pretty to look at. I truly enjoyed my meal.

Wow!!! Randomly came here for a business lunch and it did not disappoint. Very large place with beautiful desserts in a case right when you walk in. Delicious from start to finish. I got the artichokes French which was divine and perfect for lunch to not order the more hefty chicken French. And the desserts- WOW! Waitress Leah was so friendly and took great care of our group. Can't wait to return.

Lunch - Pesto Chicken Sandwich with house salad

Walked in for late lunch and luckily a table was available! Reservations are recommended as tables fill up. What I like is Phillips European is reminiscent of what dining used to be. The lighting, decor, and table setting ambiance is formal enough to compel dining etiquette but relaxed enough to not worry about pesto sauce on my shirt. An enhanced experience that deserves respect for both the establishment and fellow guests. This is dining with proper portions, balance, quality, and yes a slightly more expensive meal. The Pesto Chicken Sandwich was great as was the service!

DESSERT REVIEW ONLY Came to this place to try the dessert as I have heard really good things about it. Beautiful display of different dessert options. Tried a slice of the tiramisu torte (take out) and had a little bit of sticker shock (came out to about $11 total for a pretty small slice for the price). Putting aside price, the cake itself was rich and delicious. I would not call it tiramisu (did not get any of the coffee flavor), but the chocolate and cream were all delicious and not to sweet. Definitely an indulgent dessert. Overall, this place definitely a dessert splurge.

Went to Phillip's European to have a great dessert. We ended up having dinner as well. The service was excellent with an attentive waitress who was kind, and helpful with our decision making process of choosing entrees as well as desserts. Nice option is half or full portions. If you don't know there are many desserts to choose from and they are showcased nicely in cases as you enter the restaurant. The restaurant is a perfect place to have an intimate dinner or a quiet dinner party.

These desserts were good, not great. I have to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed. This place is so hyped up for the desserts, it just didn't live up to expectations. I didn't get to try the Viennese meringue torte, they were out. So I will be back with an update.

Chicken Salad Platter

I came for Pastry & Coffee, and decided to have a light lunch of Chicken Salad Platter. The Chicken Salad was delicious, fresh. The Salad Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Mushrooms, refreshing and crisp Viennese Merengue Torte soft, creamy not too sweet. Service was nice and attentive.

I went for lunch after visiting the medical center. The location is very convenient and the food was delicious! Service was friendly and quick. It's wasn't very loud but it was starting to get louder as it got busier. The desserts looked amazing but I didn't try them!

It feels like a hidden locals-only joint where you can grab a glass of your fave from a thoughtfully curated list of delicious options, and settle in with your better half, besties or a group of friends and just chill. We've been to Apogee a number of times before and 'after' covid, in colder months when we've been lucky to snag a window table, and in warmer times, like tonight, when we can sit outside and enjoy the flickering fireflies along with our sparkling rosè. Besides the pleasant atmosphere, Apogee has a beautifully appointed interior space, clean bathrooms, and a menu with cheese plates, cake, and more wines than you could taste in a summer. All of that plus super knowledgable 'bar tenders' (more like wine sommeliers) who can take your possibly clumsy description of what you think you want and offer up several perfect options, and you have the makings of a very pleasant evening. Book mark this place and plan to spend at least an hour enjoying an outside table!

As a special events venue, Apogee was flexible with outside food and also with decorations. There was no additional venue rental/site fee, just a minimum spend amount (which we were confident that we would exceed). The venue is cozy and intimate, but has high ceilings so it did not feel claustrophobic at all, even with 30+ guests at one point. I'm a wine snob myself, so I was a bit skeptical initially when I saw their wine list. Most of the wines they serve retail for $10-20. They do have some bottles that are more expensive (retail ~$30). However, after tasting some of their entry level wines (Ancient Peaks Zinfandel & Gouguenheim Malbec), my worries vanished. Everything I tasted was excellent and drank better than their actual price point. Steve was a great host. He was laid back, but still friendly and attentive to all of our guests. He made sure everybody's drink needs were satisfied. He was also flexible with letting us in the venue early to set up and also staying late to clean up. I also liked the fact that they allowed us to bring our own wine, for a $15 per bottle corkage fee, which is fair. Anyways, Apogee is a great venue for a small party. They are flexible and reasonable. I would definitely recommend them as a wine bar and for hosting a private event (especially on a Sunday).

The menu is different than other places, it goes from small to large plates and you order what you want and if you want more- keep ordering. My daughter got a flight of white wines and I got one of their beers, which was an interesting hazy IPA called Baby Kittens. Our waiter Philip was very knowledgeable on the wine selection and helped with the food order. We started out with the Flour City bread, which was toasted and had a dip of whipped ricotta with butternut squash - excellent! Next, we had the salt and pepper squid - their version of a fried calamari appetizer - also excellent with a nice little spice that snuck up on you a little bit. We followed that with the farm salad, which had a great cranberry vinaigrette. Then we had mussels which were over a jasmine rice that had a great sauce with it. The last dinner item we had was the butternut squash ravioli - so tasty! The table next to us got the fries, which was a huge mound of french fries with Parmesan cheese and I think something else on it. It was a lot of food. The waiter suggested their desserts, which was a choice of a huge slice of carrot cake or a skillet baked chocolate chip cookie or brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. We got the latter and it was excellent. The atmosphere was very subdued and great for a date or just a fun night out. I highly recommend visiting Carnegie Cellars!

Dan and I shared some wine flights with red wines from France, Canada, and Italy. They were all delicious. Then our awesome attentive waiter Richard told us we could order some small bites. We chose the "choose" 3 and ordered the artichoke spinach dip with pita chips & veggies, a cheddar soaked wine cheese, and can't forget the awesome herbed olives (my favorite). They also gave us some high quality aged balsamic and baguette. There's a local chocolatier - so we had to get the few pieces to pair with the red wine (orange peal chocolate, sesame chocolate, and truffle) and all were a treat. The live music was the perfect touch to an enjoyable evening and the service was top notch. We will definitely visit Flight Wine Bar again when visiting family in Rochester!

We started with a flight of mediocre (as it turned out) red wines; a Grenache, an Italian varietal, and a Cabernet. 3x2 or 6 ounces for $15.00. None of the wines were very good. We like to sample wines by the flight so we can drive up to Georgetown liquor and get a bottle. None of these were even close to prompting a visit there. For food we had a peach, tomato, quinoa, goat, and kale salad. We also had a cheese flight and I had the spicy meatballs. Expensive and very small portions. My meatball app was $15 and was 1 and 1/2 small meatballs doused in Frank's with a squirt of blue cheese. It was spicy as advertised but meager. Cheese flight was ok, but also $13 for not a lot. Spoiler alert: if their menu says 'shareable', it's not, unless one of you (or both) are fasting. Service was adequate and we got to enjoy the live music entertainment sound check (we got there before the actual performance). Guy banging on the percussion box: yes, it's way too loud for the tiny space. Usual server upselling of their overpriced menu items and drinks, but not delivering much in the way of hospitality or warmth. I don't think we would go back unless one of our friends wanted to.
