We ordered the huevos rancheros (pictured), the chocolate chip pancakes (pictured), sweet potato fries, buffalo chicken hash, and avocado toast. Overall, all of the dishes were very solid! The sweet potato fries were fantastic, highly recommend them. Portion sizes were all really good, and the value was excellent. I stumbled upon this fine during the cover 19 crisis. It was the first restaurant in Beacon Hill I came upon that was open. It was a Sunday morning around brunch time. I had already eaten breakfast and while the menu looked so delicious for brunch I decided to go to lunch option. I chose the turkey Panini. I went inside and ordered. There was one girl ringing up orders and one cook. The place was clean and you could tell well run. They took my order and I waited outside. I went back inside and it was ready. The worst experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant. Waited for over thirty minutes for a table. They continued to take other customers around us stating a table was opening and it would only be a couple minutes. We never got a table. There was not an owner or manager on site. Tried this Boston Diner for breakfast. We heard it gets busy but we didn't have any wait arriving at 9:25am. We ordered a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich, Blue Berry Pancakes, Chocolate chip Pancakes and had to try the Boston Cream pancakes. All the food was ready shortly after we ordered. The Bacon, Egg & Cheese sandwich was pretty straightforward (nothing special). The hits were the fluffy and moist pancakes! All of the Pancakes were pretty large portions. There is no wait staff, but there's a host who identifies a table for you to sit at as you're finishing up paying. The line wrapped twice inside, obstructing employees' access to the back room and the two restrooms, whose doors both open out, as well as those at tables along the right wall, who are essentially stuck in their seats because there's no room to walk. If you're claustrophobic, you'll want to try somewhere else. Now, all at once: fire hazard! Not very wheelchair-friendly, either. I had ordered two eggs on croissant and a side of pancakes, yet they gave me eggs only and forgot the pancakes. Spent $11.63 ($2.00 of that was tip). Went for brunch/lunch, place seemed fairly busy but got sat right away. The servers were quick and attentive as well. Had a diner style feel and the menu was similar. I got the turkey reuben and it was GREAT and my husband got the huevos rancheros, they come with a chorizo link which was a nice touch and the eggs were perfectly runny! The place : this is by far the worst floor layout I have seen. The open kitchen, waiting line, order area, tables and restroom are all packed at the back of the restaurant. This obviously cause a lot of traffic (order line, staff, restroom user). We had to eat on a table located in the middle of the action with people leaning on our table while waiting. The food : we ordered the breakfast sandwich which was bread, fried eggs, avocado and bacon. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not sure to understand the hype about this place. read more

Been coming here over the years and do not know why have not written a review until now. Paramount is consistently good. The line moves quickly and even when the line starts at the entrance the wait is not more than 15-20 minutes. This time I had the brioche french toast which was excellent. I added fresh berries and real maple syrup. My only complaint is why a charge of $2 for the maple syrup. Overall a really good experience for breakfast. This is a quality brunch location. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon it while we were in the area, and we are so happy that we did! As the other reviews have mentioned, the process here is a bit different because you order at the counter (after waiting in a line) and then your food comes to you as you find a table. We had to wait a bit for a table to open up, but this was while we were also waiting for our food, so it ended up working out. The food was amazing; I got pancakes and my girlfriend got the French toast, both of which were cooked well and had a good balance of ingredients. I am usually against mayo on my sandwiches, but decided to let it roll with this one because I really enjoy peppercorn dressing so hoping it would be close. The flavors mixed perfectly. My boyfriend ordered a burger (+bacon) and had nothing negative to say about it. Our only complaint with the meal was the fries served with our sandwiches. I ended up ordering the avocado toast with eggs, bacon, and Cajun home fries, and was thoroughly satisfied. The iced coffee was on the weaker side, but it made it easier to drink it without milk, and with the crowds, I wasn't about to get up when we were seated. My wife and i ate here on a Saturday night. We were seated outside and enjoyed the backdrop of the colonial style brick buildings and the 18th century street lamps. The food was very good and reasonably priced. My wife enjoyed her Paramount burger and fries and i loved the coconut shrimp salad. The staff were very nice. Hits the spot, fairly priced, but not the best. Pro tip: Until Feb 28th, you can get a free buttermilk pancake on Wednesdays! They serve salads, sandwiches, and breakfast items. The shakshouka here is a breakfast toast, not the actual shakshouka stew. One slice of bread topped with braised tomato sauce, feta, and two over-easy eggs with a side of potatoes. The shakshouka sauce was very flavorful, but the feta was a bit too salty. The eggs were slightly overcooked, lacking the satisfactory oozing yolk that makes shakshouka so delicious. The Mediterranean kale salad was very yummy, with olives, feta, cucumbers, tomatoes, slivered almonds, and peppers. Raisins would have cut some of the saltiness and acidity, but it was delicious overall, especially with the shakshouka flavors. We scored a free pancake because of their Wednesday pancake special as well. It came with a massive dollop of butter but it was a little dry and tasteless overall. This place has a strange system, but it seems to be working for them. Once you come inside, you get on line and you order your food which they start cooking almost immediately, then you pay and bring it to a table they tell you to sit at. We ordered pancakes, waffle with fresh fruit, egg, home fries with side order of bacon, and egg & bacon sandwich. Everything was delicious and fresh. Once annoyance is that the line is parallel to the tables where everyone is eating their food and the people are literally hovering over your plate. I love breakfast/brunch food so The Paramount was totally calling my name. I came with a friend on a Thursday morning around 9 and we were fortunate to get a table after we ordered at the counter. The place is pretty small so it was a bit cramped even when we went. I ordered the banana and caramel french toast and absolutely loved it! I was initially worried about how sweet the caramel might be but it was NOT cloyingly sweet! AND they give you a huge amount of banana slices which was very nice and fresh! There are a few other restaurants where I was unable to finish my french toast because of the extreme sweetness but I proudly devoured the entire plate here. #AchievementUnlocked! My friend got the avocado sunrise and said that she enjoyed it as well! We both left The Paramount with full and happy stomachs. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we tried to come back two days later! Too bad it was a Saturday morning and the line was out the door! The entire trip, Sonya and I pysched ourselves up for nutella waffles. Having heard the lines can be quite long on the weekends, we opted to visit around 8:30 on a Monday morning. We were greeted and told to wait in line to order. You cannot save a table - you have to order first, then they will seat you. We thought for sure we'd be stuck without a table because of the amount of people ahead of us, but apparently the turnover is fast enough that it wasn't a problem. The line was still a bit long and wrapped around the really tight area, thus blocking the two bathrooms. We watched them cook as we waited, and I'll say they work rather quickly. We were about 10th in line, but still waited about 15 minutes before being able to order. Because we apparently share a brain, Sonya and I placed identical orders for the nutella waffles with strawberries, but no bananas. But once our food arrived, the excitement gave way to disappointment. The strawberries had clearly been frozen (they hadn't entirely thawed), and the nutella looked just like Hershey's syrup... it was quite thin and barely tasted like nutella. Though we didn't want to mix nutella with syrup, the waffles were just too dry so we used the syrup on the table.
