I have to say dinner tonight was fabulous. The service was great and Chef Gabriel even came out to talk to us. I let him know what my favorite "special" was and he told me he would make it anytime I wanted. ( I might email him my work schedule next week and see what he can do). By far the best restaurant in Boston. Their breakfast and lunch menu items were amazing. You literally can't go wrong with any choice you make. The chefs prepared delicious food and were also fun to talk to. I went there twice while on vacation and I would recommend it to anyone. I have been going to the paramount for years and while sometimes the wait for breakfast/brunch can be a bit of a drag, the food is always worth it. I also go there for dinner a lot and my last experience was by far the best. The customer service was so on point, right down to our waitress Hannah being so attentive and getting us everything we asked for with no questions asked and consistently checking to see if everything was tasting okay and if she could get us anything else. To say that our experience was absolutely terrible is an understatement. We went there about two weeks ago and had the same server (Claire) so she will remember who we are. Our food was awful, but we thought that perhaps with the both of us being in the restaurant business, maybe it was an off night and we'd give it another go tonight with our nephew Dillon tonight. We were seated within minutes of our arrival which we appreciated because we were very hungry. We were greeted by Claire who remembered us from our previous visit and she took our drink order promptly. We also put in an order of calamari without the peanuts with our drink order for appetizer. We ordered the special wine (bottle) Decoy cab and it came out right away but we soon noticed that Claire was the only server on the floor who was also handling take-out orders. When the calamari came out it basically consisted of a few calamari came out it basically consisted of a few calamari but mostly chili peppers. When you order, ask for no chili peppers. We felt as though we were ripped off. We finished our first bottle of wine before our entrees came out. We wondered what exactly what was taking so long? Obviously Claire did too because she passed our table numerous times and did not make eye contact with us at all. We were left with no wine and no food!! Lol....But anyways, our food eventually came out and the three of us ordered steak tip dinners (2 med rare, 1 med) All three came out well done after us sitting there waiting for well over 40 mins for our food. And not only that, the portions were off. Our nephew got little to no onion rings on his plate and my friend Karen got burned onion rings. Go figure. When we told Claire she said that she had seen that to begin with. Well, if you had seen it then you should not have put the food on the table, correct? I mean, I waited tables for 15 yrs and if something wasn't perfect, I did not serve it to a paying customer, plain and simple. That is was got me upset. We sent our food back and what we got back in return was rare steak tips, cold potatoes and cold asparagus. Chefs are so F$$$ING tempermentel and their egos are through the roof and this just goes to proof it. So we ordered another bottle of wine and proceeded to get tipsy. This is the last visit we will pay the Paramount. I guess the joke is on the paying customer, because the kitchen nor management does not give a S$$T. Peace read more

When I went here, I didn't realize you order food up at the counter so I was a little skeptical when I saw the set-up. The food was delicious and quick, and I was excited to see they had mimosas! The only downside is when they get busy, they make you leave your table as soon as you're done eating. I get it, but I still don't like being rushed out. read more

Getting takeout is always a gamble. Especially, with steak tips. Well much to my surprise, Paramount has it down to a science. Not only were the steak tips delicious, but cooked to perfection. I ate at Paramont for the first time last weekend. I had heard about the restaraunt before and wanted to finally try it out. The food was beyond amazing. First, however, I will point out the incredibly friendly staff that greeted us at the door. Every person (that worked there) that I made eye contact with greeted me with a "Hello, how are you" - very warm atmosphere to walk into . We were sat by the manager (Kristen Bassi) who was so professional and extremely welcoming. We asked her right away what she would reccomend because we had never been there and she provided us with two appetizer suggestions, the smoked pork tacos and the warmed goatcheese plate. Both were incredible - literally mouth watering. The pork taco (which sounds like it would not be anything special) was melt-in-your-mouth good. The BBQ flavor was perfect, not over the top but far from bland. The goatcheese apetizer was so good. I was not sure how I would feel about the warmed goatcheese, but its served ontop tuscan bread and accompanied witha plum tomato blend which all went so well together. Another dish that we cleaned the plate of. Kristen also recommended a bottle of Red Wine called Jellybean which was a red blend that was perfect because it was not too overwhelming which reds can be sometimes. It went perfectly with all the food. For dinner I got a reccomendation from out waiter, the chicken sambai. It is described as a "spicy stir fry". I love spice, so when I was told this was very spicy I was excited. I will admit, you probably will not enjoy if you do not like spice (perhaps ask for less spice) however for someone like me who can't get enough, this was soooo delicious. It was a thai inspired stir fry that had so much flavor. Hands down best stiry fry I have every had. It was great. The person I was with got the grilled bbq sirloin steak tips - which he also raved about. I did have a bite of the steak and it was cooked perfectly, and the bbq sauce was once again on the spot - not overwhelmingly BBQ, but just enough to add great flavor to the already juicky steak tips. Horrible food. Love the Paramount on Beacon. Gave this place a second try a year later and still have not improved. My spinach and feta omelette was gross. The feta was cold and not melted. We have been to both paramount locations a few times. Our go to item has been the grilled chorizo omelets. The last time we went, something changed in this omelet, the eggs seem different. We go here a lot (sometimes 2+ times a week) and love it. Mostly for breakfast but lunch and dinner is also great. They are so accommodating to people with little kids here, there is a reason it's always filled with families early in the morning. The food is fantastic, they have the best pancakes in Boston. There seems to be not much turnover with the staff, as we've been seeing the same faces as we come in over the last few years. There is a guy always working there on weekend mornings (I think he's the manager, but not sure?) who is always making sure the seating and orders are running smoothly, he does a great a job. read more

I was a little disappointed with this place. I heard great things.... yet it just didn't hold up. First off... they don't have a full bar. I can get used to that, but I wasn't expecting it. We were hoping to get calamari, but they were out of that. We ended up getting onion rings (which were delicious) and specialty salads. Soooo very good! Stopped here for lunch after the Boston ski show. Three of us had the chicken Panini with basil mayo and one had the grilled Ruben all were fantastic including the side salad and the sweet potato fries. Would definitely try it for dinner sometime soon read more

Great food, and great service! We brought in our 9 month old girl, and the team went out of their way to get us a table, her situated in a car seat, and ensure we were comfortable. After about 20 minutes, our baby made quite the mess and they were very nice, assuring us it was no problem and that they would clean it up (despite us trying to). Paramount has always been one of my favorites but my dinner experience this weekend has put a damper on that. Both the service and food have definitely declined. I ordered my favorite, the baked haddock, and was very disappointed. My plate was mostly mashed potatoes and broccoli with a tiny, broken piece of haddock that did not come with the bread topping and it was very dry. I'm hoping that it was just an off day. read more

Everything here is incredible looking. I got the turkey Reuben and it was SO good. The coleslaw on it had pieces of pineapple in it which gave it a really unique flavor. Had a very poor experience here. Ordered and sat down, my wife had her burger brought to table relatively quickly. My buffalo wrap was right behind but took forever to make it to the table because the server was too busy talking to other staff. When it finally came it was very gristly and completely loaded with buffalo sauce (WAY too much, you shouldn't have a river of buffalo sauce running out of it as soon as you pick it up) and barely had any veggies. I couldn't eat it with how spicy it was, so I ordered a milk shake to help cut the spice. Again, took forever to get it despite no customers. When it arrived it hadn't even been blended properly, was gritty and tasted horrible. You'd think if you take ten minutes to make a shake you could at least blend it properly. I wasn't even able to finish my meal at this point so I left and got something to eat at 7eleven - the quality was better there! read more

Great addition to the Southie dining scene and a welcome difference from the traditional sports pubs. It has a very good breakfast, great pancakes too. Went there for lunch today and had a nice thick burger that was prepared exactly as I wanted it and best of all the bread they use for the burgers was fresh and really good. Went for dinner last Thursday. When we walked in there were several employees (waitstaff etc) chatting away at the front counter. We were seated immediate -- the restaurant was not busy which I thought was a bit odd given that it was 6:45. Our waitress did not introduce herself and had about as much personality as the table itself. I got the impression that she was better suited to a modeling job than a service job since it was clear that she had NO desire to be there. It seemed that she felt as though she was above it all. This impression was further strengthened when the women sitting next to us has to basically jump up and down to get her attention when one of women needed to tell the waitress that her food was overcooked. The model/waitress was too busy chatting with her pals to check back with her table. Just as she was too busy to check back with us once she finally broke away from her pals to take our order. She was kind enough to ask how the meal was when she delivered the check, so I guess that's a plus. Bottom line? The tip was commensurate with the service. (My finance insisted upon tipping $1.01 since the server was SO HORRIBLE). We are pretty easy to please and NOT food/service snobs. We dine out constantly and tip very well since we normally have good service. Such was NOT the case at the Paramount. Thanks, but if the staff is just too superior to deal with customers then perhaps the owner should have stayed on the Hill. I have been in this place regularly since it opened a year ago, and can't say enough about the high quality of food, staff and atmosphere. Their burgers are as good as they get (including the black bean burger - delicious!) and I recently tried (and loved) the bbq chicken chopped salad. read more

The Paramount is the perfect neighborhood restaurant for those looking to escape the typical South Boston sports bars or take out joints! We have been for both breakfast and lunch many many times and each visit is better than the next. The Paramount never disappoints in terms of service or quality of food! I'd particularly recommend the black bean burger-the best I've ever had. The new drink specials are always creative and from my experience taste great as well! The Paramount in Southie always exceeds expectations, but my latest experience there topped it all. My friend was in from Paris and I wanted to choose a neighborhood restaurant with good food and a solid wine list, so we ventured over to Paramount. We had THE BEST waitress, Alexandra, who gladly offered recommendations that were consistently fantastic! On top of that, Alexandra introduced us to Kristin who gave us a rundown of the wine selection and shared her knowledge and recommendations for the wine choices. These two women were amazing! We had an excellent dining experience...I absolutely recommend it (although I hesitate because I don't want it to get too popular that I can't get a seat, anymore)!!! read more

Terrible experience. First, we weren't entirely sure if they also had gluten free waffles like their sister restaurant on Charles Street because their online menu isn't clear. So we took a chance and were disappointed that, nope, no gf waffles. Then as my fiance ordered us food from the counter, I asked wait staff person #1 if I could sit anywhere. She said yes. I started to move towards a cute corner table when wait staff person #2 next to us overheard and said, actually, how many in your party? (2) Can you sit at the high tops instead? (Sure). Then as I was taking off my jacket, staff person #3 asked me to not sit there because she needed the table. So I went to the original corner table I wanted instead, where she again approached me and told me not to sit there and that I needed to order first. I explained that someone was online ordering, and I was given conflicting directions (And yes, I was audibly annoyed at this point). She insisted I order first and walked away. We left promptly. So not worth it for a place that teases you with potential but false promise of gluten free waffles!!! read more

We were the first customers during their soft opening last week - staff is friendly and enthusiastic. It is larger than the one in Beacon Hill, so it should be easier to manuever. We had the waffles with fruit and banana cinnamon pancakes. Tasted great, just like the Beacon Hill location. Can't wait to try dinner! I walked by last night and it was packed. Reviews for my breakfast experience only. I agree with the rest of the reviews on here for breakfast. We went in one morning and stood in line forever to order 2 omelets, one of which didn't even come out right. And if your order is wrong forget getting something else because of how long the ordering process takes. I am not understanding how the style works for breakfast but it isn't the most structured environment. You wait in line, however long that may be to give your order to the chef who then cooks your food. So they take orders 1 by 1 and then you wait there to pay until your food is ready. The cooks were not taking other food orders while they prepped the person who just ordered. Just an extra long process. So you wait to give your order, then you wait to get it made and pay and then you are not even guaranteed a seat which is just ridiculous! If you are going to have a cafeteria type setting you need enough seats for people to sit when they are done. Food was good, just basic, but for the price, I want to be waited on and guaranteed a seat. We also have chosen not to go there recently because they don't have breakfast cocktails as an fyi. read more

I met a few friends here for lunch and we had a great time. The front windows were open as the weather was pleasant. You do have to get used to the setup - you can't sit until you've ordered and the waitstaff will come ask you to move if you violate. I know that sounds harsh but if everyone sticks with the program, it tends to work. As a vegetarian, I like that they serve breakfast until 4 PM as it tends to be cheaper and I do eat eggs so I have lots of options. I got the Breakfast Special (eggs, home fries toast and an iced coffee) for $6. My friends got the reuben and the grilled cheese with tomato and bacon and they looked delicious. They were both happy with them. I will say that their salads at $10 are a little over priced for having to stand there to get them. The staff were very nice and our orders were goofed a little but they made up for it by rectifying the issues (sweet potato fries instead of crinkle fries, eggs over hard instead of scrambled) by bringing us out a fresh batch of fries and a big bowl of fresh fruit. I would definitely go back for lunch and would like to try it for dinner. read more

I recently visited The Paramount for brunch and had a lovely experience. I was worried at first that we would not get a table as customers have to wait in line to order, pay for and get their food prior to sitting, but as the waitress had assured us, by the time we had our meals, a table had opened up and we were able to sit immediately. I had a the BBQ Chicken Chopped Chicken and my dining guests had the Chocolate Chip Pancakes and Vegetable Sandwich. The food was excellent and the Salad and Sandwich portions were huge. The atmosphere was lively for noon on a Saturday and the front windows were open which allowed for great people watching on Broadway. If you're looking for a great local spot for a quick & yummy breakfast/lunch/brunch, this is the place to go in Southie! read more

Everything that comes out of this place is amazing. The brunch is fantastic- especially the French toast, breakfast potatoes, and fresh squeezed orange juice. The line can be a bit long on the weekend but it's worth it! I had dinner there for the first time last night and it was just as delicious.
