I'm being so honest when I say this hidden gem holds some of my favorite food in Laguna Beach. Right off the coast, this cozy cafe offers great food, delightful service and beautiful views. My go-to is their breakfast burrito. This is a honker of a burrito, packed with egg, cheese, bacon, guacamole, sour cream and chorizo. Most breakfast burritos are a bit skimp on the eggs but not this one -- you get what you pay for, and more. The flavors are outrageous and trust me, you'll want two salsas on the side. One of my top places for breakfast when we are in Laguna Beach! Breakfast burrito is my go to item here. Everything is melded together so perfectly and it's so easy to eat. The salsa on the side is a must have. It's so good that I always have to ask for an extra salsa bc I use the one they give me on just half of the burrito. I inhale that salsa! The other breakfast item we love is their breakfast sandwich. They give you a thick sausage patty and when you bite into it with the runny egg, it's absolute perfection. For pastries, the pretzel chocolate bread is highly recommended and it exceeded my expectations. The chocolate in it is just slightly sweet. A great blend to the savory pretzel bread. The lemon bar here is also top notch if that's your name. The oatmeal raisin cookie was above average for me, not sure if I'll get it everytime but a nice later to have treat. The brown sugar latte is like a dessert treat which I've always said that I like my milk and sweetener with coffee, haha! So it's just my jam. The Pantry is a nice little breakfast spot right next to Sapphire. You order, pay, and the food is brought out to you in the self seating area. It's fairly easy to find a table, even on weekends. The patio is cute and any seat is a good one. They have umbrellas up to help provide some shade from the sun. I was recently in Laguna with some girlfriends and we stopped to have breakfast and coffee here one morning. The wait for our coffee alone was about 25 minutes and they got our order wrong. When I brought it up to them, they didn't offer to fix our drink or comp it, they just noted that they indeed got it wrong. We were told the wait time for our food would be about 20 minutes. We waited 55 minutes before our food was delivered to us and we found out that our actual food had been given to another customer because they were a frequent client so they wanted to appease them. Unfortunately, because of that our number was not changed, and our food had been circling the patio for a while until one of the managers started questioning whose food this was, and they realized it was ours. No apologies given once again. The breakfast burrito was all right and the salsa was good, but the service was not up to par. It may have been just a busy day for them, which is understandable but literally just an apology would have gone along way. read more

The Pantry does an amazing job with flavors and delicious food while giving you some good coffee. So I'm about to head into teaching this week and start the new school year so my fiancée wanted to take me out for a day and just calm and enjoy our space. I love breakfast so she found The pantry and honestly it was pretty good. Service was pretty simple, we went up, ordered and we got our number and sat down. The young lady that took our order was sweet and patient as we figured out what food we am wanted in our lives. The vibe was all outdoor with some indoor seating, it very relaxed, umbrella shading and a nice ocean breeze. The food was pretty good, I have some notes though. So let's start with the low and work our way up. The pretzel croissant... it was pretty stale... they did heat it up and when you heat up a pastry that may have been sitting it tends to get very chewy and does not melt in your mouth. I know there was a pretzel element but even pretzels have that softness to them so it was a little bit of a let down. The lavender coffee my fiancée just needed some more bite to it. It felt kind of watered down , I almost took it back to get a shot of espresso to kick it into gear but she worked through it. My Mexican mocha was pretty delicious to be honest , I'd definitely get a shot of espresso with it next time but overall I enjoyed it, I compared it to better buzz because their the only other place that has a Mexican mocha and Pantry does a good job. The breakfast burritos was delicious, I was worried it was going to be too Mushy the inside and get messy at the end but it held together well, and the sauce was on point... I wish I had more!! Also the crispy bacon inside was delicious. On thing I would say is after you wrap up The burrito put it on the pan or flat iron so the tortilla gets a golden brown to it. It helps make the burrito easier to hold and cut in half . If I did not cut mine in half I'm pretty sure it would fell apart. Lastly... the crispy chicken sando... my fiancée made this look after she bit into it ... she then handed it to me and I took a bite... if my burrito did not have so many good flavors I would of ordered another chicken sando.... It was perfection!!! Overall The Pantry has some great food, with some minor changes and making sure the pastries are dress they would have had all stars lit. Will we go back? Absolutely... After a nice hike in Laguna, I was craving a good breakfast and found this spot on Yelp. I decided to give it a try. It's located right on the main street of Laguna, and street parking was relatively easy to find. The seating situation was a bit tricky since the restaurant shares the space with another business. I managed to find a small, wobbly table. Ordering is done inside, which is a tight space, and I felt like if I hadn't spoken up, I wouldn't have been attended to. I ordered two coffee drinks, a lemon bar, and two breakfast entrées. Although we told them we were dining in, the coffee drinks were served in paper cups. When we asked for glass cups, we were told none were clean. The lemon bar was disappointing--it had a weird smell and taste, so I didn't finish it. Meanwhile, I noticed that other customers who ordered after us were getting their food delivered to their tables. I eventually went back inside to check on our order. One of the cashiers seemed confused, but she reassured me that the kitchen was working on it. When the food finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely delicious. The salsa was the perfect accompaniment. Despite the rocky start, the food itself was the highlight of the experience. Overall, my dining experience was underwhelming, but the food made up for it. I might think twice about dining in next time, but I'd consider coming back for takeout to enjoy that breakfast burrito again! read more

Nestled in the corner in Laguna beach so you know parking is the hardest part. Side streets it was for us. We went a few days after Christmas so it wasn't that busy. The breakfast sandwich wasn't that good. The cheese was not a good selection for the sandwich and the patty was dry. The breakfast burrito was too mushy, it needed a textured difference. The lovely cottage restaurant has very friendly staff and lots of outdoor seating right on PCH. The Smashed Avocado toast was excellent; I added a fried egg on top. I ate there two days in a row! The ingredients were all quality, and the homemade sausage patty was very solid, but it doesn't feel like there was much thought or effort put into balancing the sandwich as a whole. The cheese didn't really add anything, I could barely taste the aioli, and it was begging for some acidity, spice, and freshness or brightness. I'd maybe give it a 4 if it were $10, but at $15, it gets a 3. Not to mention, it took nearly 20 minutes to get to me at 1:00 when there was nobody else waiting for food. We came here on a Saturday morning after completing "mentally sensitive" hike. Parking was available (all metered around the block) right next to the Pottery shopping place. The restaurant Sapphire was still opening so we decided to grab breakfast from the Pantry. Cute shop, with simple menu and everything stacked neatly, labeled and what not. We ordered our food and found a cozy dining table outside. Patio heaters were there to keep us warm. We got breakfast burrito and tacos. I do agree with another yelper who mentioned that the burrito was soggy. There were too much bean paste. But nevertheless it was tasty and filling. *Imagine* a Cozy seaside cafe with a slight sea breeze touseling your unkempt hair Sunday morning and your partner and dog getting along more than I ever did (curse you, hara, I feed you, girl, I see where your loyalty lies). After 2 rounds of the block, we found parking and found ourselves in a cafe area that felt like I was in Greece. OR what I imagine Greece is like. I walked into this place because I heard whispers of the legendary breakfast burrito. I mean, I traveled to this affluent area as a poor PhD student, feeling like I was in an income bracket (or three) lower than the average people in the area, in search of what I hoped was the burrito to end all burritos, but heck, I was out here for my burrito. And you know what? It's incredible. The tortilla? Perfect. The eggs were fluffy and slightly runny, the bacon crisp, giving the burrito texture and chew, the potato doing its potato job and bringing life back into me, and the cheese melted in such a way that all the ingredients got along and delivered a magical moment. Every bite had me questioning my life choices--specifically, why I haven't been eating burritos like this since birth. LET ME rave about the SALSA. What in the world. The salsa had depth, volume, and smoothness. I am not sure how to evaluate salsa, but with slight spice and tang, the burrito was elevated to Nirvana. But then... $13. *Thirteen dollars*. Sure, I was practically serenading this thing with mariachi music in my head, but I couldn't help wondering: is there gold in this burrito? Does it come with stock options? No? Just...burrito? At the end of the day, is it worth $13? Depends on whether you're willing to trade a solid chunk of change for a tiny bundle of heaven wrapped in a tortilla. But you know what? There are surrounding restaurants and I believe the restaurant next door is also theirs as we used the restroom in there.
