I booked this restaurant for an early Mother's Day celebration, and my mother was very pleased. First, the views this restaurant sits right by the coast beachfront and has amazing views. Secondly, the service and wait staff is impeccable. We received great recommendations, attentiveness, professionalism, and hospitality. We never had to ask for anything because our needs were anticipated. Lastly, the food, we ordered several different things. The lobster bisque, Parkhouse rolls, octopus, the special of the day, which was tuna Hamachi. We also ordered the scallops, mushrooms, green beans, mashed potatoes and sea bass. The items that stood out the most were the lobster bisque. the Parkhouse rolls, the Seabass, the scallops and the Hamachi tuna. I was taken back that the octopus was fried and it was tough and had an interesting flavor. I'm used to octopus legs being grilled and tender, so I was quite disappointed with that. We also ordered a couple of cocktails that we weren't thrilled about. The flavors didn't work well together in the drink, but I did like how the glasses were ice cold I just wish the cocktails were more impressive. I feel like that's the gift and the curse. When you have a restaurant that is oceanfront. Typically oceanfront restaurants their food isn't that great because it doesn't have to be because of the ambience. The only place I've ever been where they had the oceanfront location and the food was amazing was Nobu Malibu specifically. I wouldn't mind coming back here for some light bites like I mentioned the lobster bisque and the rolls were tasty. Everything else was good, but not great for the price point.

This place offers the best views on Laguna beach with the waves crashing against the restaurant! Absolutely stunning views from an oceanfront table around sunset! They serve amazing cocktails and just the venue makes it worth your while. The service is friendly and attentive. The hostess was particularly nice and moved me to a better table when I complained of the harsh sun directly hitting my seat. I decided to stay beyond the one cocktail I had planned for just because I was in love with the atmosphere there. Ordered some food from the bar menu - margarita flatbread, truffle fries and their halibut tacos. The food was great too - especially loved the flatbread. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to SoCal.

We wanted to try the newly renovated Splashes Restaurant for ourselves. I'm giving it three stars because the ambiance is five stars, but the food is really one star. Our waiter was excellent and deserves five stars, while the manager gets one star, so I guess it averages out to three stars. I didn't read the reviews beforehand because I wanted to judge it for myself, but I agree with many other Yelp reviewers that the food just isn't very good. After lunch, I realized for myself that the food wasn't that good, and several other Yelpers mentioned that dinner was mediocre as well. This feels more like a place to come for a drink, relax, and enjoy the beach view. The reason I'm giving the manager one star is because I wanted to host my birthday dinner there - this was before lunch was served and reading reviews. The waiter suggested I request Table 33, which is in a beautiful area, but when I spoke with the manager, he refused to reserve it even though my dinner is still two months away. I don't know how they do business, but this doesn't seem like the right way to handle a customer request. If I come back--and I probably will, because the setting is beautiful--I'd likely order a small hors d'oeuvre and a drink.

Poke Nachos and Cheese board - Both were delicious.

I had a good overall experience. The food was delicious and the cheese board was especially flavorful and well put together. I'm a big fan of craft cocktails and have tried drinks at many different restaurants, so I had high expectations. While the drinks were okay, they didn't quite stand out to me, some of the flavors were a bit unusual and not really to my taste. We were seated near the bar area, which offered a great view and added to the atmosphere. Our server seemed to be handling a very busy section, so although he wasn't very attentive, it was clear he was doing his best under the circumstances. As a result, it sometimes took a while to get his attention. Despite that, the outstanding food made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.

10/10 stars. Such a special birthday brunch I had here, we ran 15 minutes late to our reservation and they accommodated us so kindly. Everyone that works here is so lovely and they even hand wrote me a card?! Breathtaking views even from someone who lives here. Will definitely be coming back for future lunches

With recommendation from two friends (one being a local), we ended up getting a spot for late breakfast. All other times were not available. The day of visit, severe storm warning was issued so all the doors were closed, all the umbrellas were folded and getting ready for the storm. The views were amazing. Almost right over the water. The name Splashes definitely fits it. For breakfast, menu was simple and nothing really stood out. Short rib skillet anyone? I was expecting to pay more for the views but wasn't too exuberant . My drink wasn't good. Definitely needed a money back. Felt like it was diluted. Presentation was C rated and also glass had some juice that was spilled. Should have been wiped before serving. The restaurant of this caliber and price on high side, definitely needed an improvement. When one goes wrong, all else will look not as good as you had hope for. My lox with everything bagel was good. Service was ok. For the views, I will be back.

If you're coming here for the service, the ambiance, and the environment, then this place gets a plus. It's a quiet little restaurant inside the resort hotel. We came here mostly for the view of the beach while eating. On that point, they get five stars. Overall, the food was okay, but obviously pricey, being that it's at a resort hotel. The octopus was overcooked. The outside was way too crispy and tough, but at least the inside was still a little bit tender, yet chewy. At least they didn't overcook the steak. It wasn't overcooked, but definitely not the best steak I've had. The fish tacos had a great big chunk of fish in them, and they were good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the staff gave great service and were prompt and friendly.

Splashes is an amazing spot if you want a great ocean view and a relaxed, upscale vibe. Valet was not expensive, and the staff was very friendly and helpful from start to finish. The best part honestly is the atmosphere. Sitting outside with the sound of the waves crashing while you eat is next level, and they have heaters that keep you warm so you don't even feel cold. Food-wise, it was good/OK overall, but there were a couple standouts. The short ribs were very tasty, and the sea trout was solid, very similar to salmon. I'd love to come back during the daytime to catch the view in the sunlight. Definitely planning to return.

Such a cool - beach hotel. (And I mean ON the beach) Splashes is right at view level and serves food and beverages - and gorgeous views of the ocean!! Service was outstanding, very friendly and attentive. Make sure to try this place if you are in the area!

WAVE AFTER WAVE PLEASE COME CRASH INTO ME... SPLASHES Restaurant, Laguna Beach, California! This is one of my Husband's and my Favorite Date Spots! I don't know of another location in Laguna, where you are so close to the Ocean! It's a Wonderful place to Wine & Dine, Beachside, and have the Waves literally come Crash & Splash into you! We LOVE their Fantastic Weekend Brunch. They have their lovely main SPLASHES Restaurant that opens for Breakfast Daily, bright and early at 7 am and have a separate intimate SPLASHES BAR, on the Beach, which opens at 11 am - 9 pm! Their Crab Benedict ($33) is Absolutely Delicious! And their Grass Fed CheeseBurger ($32) is Legit & Tasty too! Be prepared to spend some dough because you're gonna wanna stay for a while! The service is Always Friendly & Fabulous! The Surf & Sand Resort has valet parking, and I hear the restaurant validates your parking, but we have always been able to find street parking. I Highly Recommend this Ahh~Mazing Beachfront Date Hot Spot! :)

Great view from this place. Restaurant is delicious- loved the lobster bisque and the octopus! Everything is not only pretty, it is also delicious. Good selection of wines

Great place to go for the view and drinks on a sunny day. The food was overpriced for what it was but I guess you're paying for the view. We watched the dolphins swim by while eating. The service was alright, it took a while to be seen. But every single person that came to the table for drinks, food, and the bill were really nice.

This only a 2 star review because Aaron our waiter was great. This restaurant has gone down hill since the remodel. The head chef was elevated to a new position and the food has suffered. The service is still top tier but the food is not. On top of that they've removed the olive tapenade and fresh bread they offered. When I asked this teenage boy In a suit names Julien (8 don't know if that's how he spelled it but he looked like it was spelled this way) he said it was to elevate the restaurant. That may be the dumbest thing I've heard. The best restaurants in the world still do a bread service.

The interior of the restaurant on the same level of the host stand is wheelchair accessible however I believe certain exterior patio seating does require some stairs that do not make it as wheelchair friendly unfortunately

What floor/area and table has the best view?

There is a top dining area with limited seating right in front of the window with beach view, then there are tables behind it (with blocked view of beach because others would be sitting in front of you). We sat down stairs at the bar, there are… Read more

This is open to the public, however reservations are required. The entrance is in the hotel. You can use the hotel parking.

We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. Such a cute place all around. My husband and I can't wait to go back! Upon arrival, you'll find that the valet completely disregards the flow of the street. They use the southbound lane as a parking lot, effectively turning a small two-way road into a one-way alley. The valet guys were also rude to people trying to drive through for no apparent reason. When sitting outside on the deck, there are 12 heaters available, but the hostess wouldn't turn them on. (I've eaten at many waterfront restaurants, and they all turn the heaters on--especially when the temperature drops from 80°F and sunny to 68°F after the sun goes down.) The website states no seating after 8 p.m., yet they were still seating people well after 8:15. The menu was also not what I was expecting. While waiting for dinner, the aroma of marijuana drifted across the dining area. (I know they can't control what happens outside their establishment.) the deck is roped off because apparently it's unsafe and could fall off at any moment in addition to the rotting floor. The food: The menu is underwhelming. I ordered the chicken with sun-dried tomato risotto and vegetables. The risotto was undercooked and flavorless, and the chicken was also lacking flavor. I sampled the New York steak with mashed potatoes--the steak was cooked well, but the potatoes were cold. We didn't even bother ordering dessert and went elsewhere instead.

But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. The food was 3.5/5 I love to support small business, perhaps we will try again another night.
