We have been at the Loft Breakfast three times over our stay and the view on the mosaic pool is magnificent. The service is very friendly with Madison doing a fantastic job. Their croissants are freshly made in house and delicious and I don't say that easily as a Frenchman. They start bringing you a banana bread sprinkles with white sugar. The omelette orders have been a hit and miss as they brought us a normal omelette when we ordered an egg white omelette. But they immediately addressed the situation. You can hear the wave of the ocean calmly hitting the beach. It is serendipitously beautiful!

I'm sad to say that after many times coming here for special occasions we came today to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we did not have a great experience. The food was just ok. We got the pasta bolognese. It wasn't anything special, tasted like something we could make at home. The lobster tail we had to take it back was very over cooked and bouncy. It was nothing special as well. We ordered dessert and it was ok. Didn't say Happy Anniversary. Especially being 20th anniversary we thought at the very least write something that says happy anniversary. We have pictures in past of the service staff going out of their way. We have had such great experiences before with amazing service this was just a normal mediocre dinner. We also asked for a smoked old fashioned as we also have a video in the past of having one here and we were told they no longer do that. So disappointed. Service was just ok. Waiter never asked if i wanted something additional. Took forever for my husband to get his drink. We decided to go and get something at the lounge. The service at the Lounge was amazing! Super appreciate how attentive they were and made our anniversary special. Our server brought over Hayley the manager and they brought us an anniversary dessert. I highly recommend The Lounge ! It was amazing! Drinks were also on point! We probably won't be back again to eat at the Loft. There are other places with better service and food. Very disappointing celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary.

Went here for a classy oceanside brunch What I tried: * Banana French Toast- This is what I ordered, and it was delicious It was fluffy and soft which I loved, and had caramel on top making it pretty sweet. The macadamia nuts weren't too overpowering or nutty which I liked, and the caramelized banana was a great topping. There was some whipped cream too that added to the sweetness * Caesar Salad- I shared this with one other friend as an appetizer. This was sooo good!!! There was a good amount of dressing, but not way too saucy- it was the perfect amount to bring the flavor. The shaved cheese, ricotta salata, was so light, airy and soft making the salad even more enjoyable. Thin crouton bits were on top, and these were also very light and satisfying to eat. * Raspberry Yuzu Mocktail- This was delicious and refreshing! It had raspberry and yuzu obviously, but also lychee, which definitely added to its amazing taste. I was worried the raspberry would make the drink feel medicinal, but that was not the case at all! It was fruity and sweet, and looked gorgeous. What my friends got: * Grains Bowl * Eggs Benedict They both liked their items! I had a bite of the grains bowl, and it was good for what it was. It's a great "healthier" option while still being flavorful and having variety on the plate. Located inside Montage Hotel & Resort in Laguna Beach, The Loft is a great restaurant for breakfast/lunch with a pleasant ambiance as it offers a gorgeous view of the ocean There's both indoor and outdoor seating- we waited a bit extra for the patio seating but it was worth it. The service was also great, the hostess and our server were so sweet and great to talk to.

Bella & Mikey have served us multiple times here and they have been so so good with myself and my friend Brenda whom I always come here to have business meetings with. (We live for the coffee steak) but everything is great! From the appetizers, drinks and the dessert! On top of a beautiful view. Thank you Bella & Mikey for being great servers and so kind! Always a pleasure to see you both.

Holy cow, I think this is the first fine dining experience I've been to and I was not disappointed. The montage is a beautiful hotel and this restaurant was an amazing addition to it. First of all, the waitress that greeted us at the door was incredibly nice and complimented my friend and I and we got sat down immediately facing the beach and we were met with our server who was so patient with us and explained the menu throughly which was amazing! We ended up taking our server's recommendation and ordering the caviar, NYC steak and the bolognese. In my opinion I think the caviar was okay, it was also my first time having it so maybe I just wasn't a fan of it in general..? However, the steak was phenomenal. I wish I could have 30 if I could, the flavors of this steak just melt all together and I appreciate the addition of the coffee flavoring and the Brie that comes with the steak, everything was just curated so intentionally and you can taste it. The pasta was also so amazing the sauce was cooked perfectly and paired well with the noodles. They also gave me a complimentary dessert because it was my birthday as well! I was obsessed and I hope to come back again! Great views and great bites.

I've been to The Loft at Montage Hotel twice now -- once for lunch with my husband and once solo for dinner -- and overall, it's a beautiful spot with great food. During our first visit for lunch, we had fresh juices, the grain bowl, and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the terrace was not an option due to ongoing construction as it was very loud, which definitely took away from the experience. We were really hoping to enjoy the outdoor seating and the views. For my second visit, I came alone for dinner. Even though there were plenty of empty tables, they made me wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which felt a bit unnecessary. But once I was seated, the rest of the experience was enjoyable. I ordered the scallops -- there were only three on the plate, but they were actually quite satisfying and tasted great. Definitely more on the light and elegant side. Overall, I do like this place and would come back -- especially once the construction is finished. Sitting on the terrace seems like a big part of the full experience, and I'd love to enjoy it properly next time.

Location is breath taking. Weather is amazing and food is so delicious. Sounds like heaven huh! Well it's a bit pricy but take the situation into account! ;-) For service, all I can say is to book in advance for sure and use valet parking. Otherwise, parking is a big mess. Note that there is $40 deposit needed per person when booking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is balcony with pool / ocean view. Don't miss French Toast and Shakshoka!

Ambiance - 5/5 This restaurant has one of the best beach views in Orange County. The vibe was very tranquil, relaxing, and quiet. The service - 5/5 I booked our reservation through OpenTable and had no issues. From the moment we were greeted from the host, and served by our waitress, the level of hospitality was worth eve try penny spent! The staff were very knowledgeable about each menu item and how they were to be prepared! The food - 4/5 Although the menu appeared to be simple, you can tell a lot of thought was put into each ingredient served. There was no lack of flavor or ingenuity in each dish, I just removed one star for the wait time. Overall, I would come back for a special celebration!

How amazing! The food, staff, and view were all fantastic zero complaints. Everything went perfectly, and I had an incredible day with my mom. The team is so attentive and wonderful; make sure to tip them well, because they truly make the experience special. Highly recommend!

they cancelled my reservation because "someone" booked the WHOLE restaurant on a Thursday. GTFO

Made a Reservation for January 22nd for a birthday party of 5. they take the reservation. I make plans for that day with my people. everyone is excited. two days later they call me to "cancel my reservation because someone booked the Whole Restaurant on a Thursday in January" lol WTF???. GARBAGE. LOW CLASS. AVOID THIS PLACE if i could give zero stars I would.

I've been here several times and must give them 5 stars for their service! The ambience is very nice because it's situated in the Montage hotel, the food tastes good, we love espresso martini and cocktails shrimp. Parking is easy, valet only. The overall experience is very good!

Terran (sp?) was adorable and began serving with high energy and attentiveness. However, we had completely finished our appetizers and had no drink refills or ability to order another cocktail and simply felt abandonded. Upon her eventual return she appeared more flustered, took our meal and drink orders (which she forgot) and it just went downhill from there unfortunately. Since I was unable to get Terran's attention to inquire on the contents of my husband's cocktail, I had to go directly to the bartender. I was surprised at the lack of helpfulness and that instead of taking my question as a welcoming experience to show/explain how Finney's make this particular drink and help clarify why it may not have looked and tasted similar to what he was used to, this bartender immediately went on the defense and had an offensive attitude and made it in front of me to "prove" to me that all the ingredients were in fact included. It wasn't JUST about that. I have never experienced such a lack of customer service. (What I also felt immediately was that this was not the first time this particular concern regarding this same drink has come up.) As a former bartender myself, FYI, I am quite familiar with how drinks are made as well as proper bartender etiquette and behavior. My husband said this cocktail tasted "funny" not simply that this "one" ingredient may not have been included so I was in fact curious what the components were so I was very happy to let him make it in front of me. Needless to say, Finney's has a great airy casual atmosphere if you're looking for fun with big-screen tvs for sports with a massive variety of craft brews and a sizeable menu that includes many fun bar foods like wings, pizzas, tacos and tater tots. My husband and I also enjoyed competing against other locations on the tabletop trivia game. I may have had more of a positive experience if I went with different intentions and less expectations. But again, they're in Laguna Beach so... Very disappointed. :(

When you have a restaurant that is oceanfront. Typically oceanfront restaurants their food isn't that great because it doesn't have to be because of the ambience. To put it simply: this is the kind of place Laguna has been missing. From the moment we walked in, the energy felt dialed-in in a way that immediately reminded me of a Hillstone experience -- polished but not pretentious, lively but still intimate. That balance is incredibly hard to execute, and Nix nails it. For context, I'm part owner of 230 Forest Avenue, so I don't say this lightly: Nix easily lands in my top five in Laguna Beach. We started with Aperol spritzes (perfectly balanced, not overly sweet), along with a couple of appetizers -- including a fried asparagus dish that was addictive in the best way. Crisp, flavorful, and gone way too quickly. For mains, I ordered the veggie burger, which was genuinely one of the best I've had -- hearty, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully constructed (not an afterthought, which vegetarian options so often are). My boyfriend had the noodle salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and layered with flavor. But beyond the food, what really stood out was the overall experience. The atmosphere feels intentional , great music, beautiful crowd, and a buzz that makes you want to linger. It's the kind of place where dinner effortlessly turns into drinks, and drinks turn into "should we just stay a little longer?" Laguna Beach doesn't have a ton of restaurants that hit this level across the board -- food, service, ambiance, and energy, but Nix absolutely does. We'll be back, and soon.

Can you say delicious x10?! The food here is dangerously good…read more We kicked things off with drinks, an old fashioned and a skinny margarita, both doing exactly what they needed to do! Then came the artichoke appetizer and the soup of the day... and honestly, I could've stopped there and been happy. But we powered through like professionals and went for a late lunch entrée, the Chilean sea bass- and WOW. Worth every bite. And shoutout to our server and the entire staff, total pros. Super polished, attentive, and clearly know what they're doing without being over the top. If you're looking for amazing food with a cool, laid-back vibe, Nick's is your spot. Just come hungry... and maybe wear stretchy pants.

It's basic Hawaiian food and drinks. Got the Loco Moco with the Mac Salad. The hamburger patty was a bit too salty. The patty itself was tender though. Mac Salad was good. Had a lot of egg yolk mixed in. Pineapple fried rice was good. Kids killed their portions pretty quick. Biggest hit was the fish and chips. The fish was super fresh and tender. The batter was really crispy. Definitely will get this again. I would say the cocktails were a bit too light. Need a little more booze to really enjoy it. We sat in the booth. It was long but narrow. The table filled pretty quick with all the dishes so it was a bit of a struggle to make space and be comfortable. Don't forget to check out the fish tank and take a cute picture at the shell bench.

Food-wise, this place is great as well. We got the Pupu Platter, which was really good! The bloomin' onion was great, along with the lumpia and chicken that came on the platter. We also got the spam musubi which was pretty good, just a tad overpriced for what it is. I think appetizer-wise, just stick with the platter and you'll be happy. All the entrees were well received by our party as well. I ordered the chicken which was great, but also heard great things about the short ribs, the shrimp pasta, and the katsu sandwich. What I really enjoyed about this place was the ambiance! The place is decked out in amazing tiki bar decor and it is very immersive. Overall I recommend this place!

Parking during the lunch hour can be a problem, you may have to walk a bit from the upper neighborhood. Some of the residents there do not hold back their disdain for tourists parking in front of their homes. Place your order outside, like a fast food joint, get a number and sit down somewhere after you get your drinks from another outside window. They are very busy here and have a good system in place to process and complete the orders. The wait time for your food is minimal. The vibe here is touristy yet the crowd is young. Beach goers mostly I suspect. Picnic tables inside with an assortment of round patio tables and chairs inside and out. The burgers taste good. They are a double patty, so they were cooked up quickly and were definitely served hot off the grill. The meat is without much taste. The cheese is American which is nothing more than a mysterious blend of yellow ingredients, few which are probably real dairy products. It does melt easily though and kind of makes a runny addition to the sauce they use. Flavor from the sauce and the texture from the meat made the burger interesting but not great. Probably on the level of an In and Out puck. The bun was ok, it held up well to the sauces. Since this a well cooked double patty, there was no juice to sog up the bun. Of course the lack of juice makes the overall product lacking. The fries are great and ample but the stingy amount of catsup provided is almost good enough for only half the fries. The ice tea is average and very small. It is not enough to wash down the meal. Make sure you get waters because your ice tea will not be refilled.

Ordered: Salmon Citrus salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and my friend was very happy with the amount of salmon to salad ratio. Attractive dish! Sliced Steak & Potato Salad was a nice portion of sliced steak, a decent warm potato salad, and a great side salad. I can't remember if that was one of her side options, but it was a solid choice. Steak was ordered medium rare and it was definitely all rare - but edible. Sometimes it's not a good option to send it back. Fear of over cook. Blackened Halibut Sandwich was my choice and the fresh tasting halibut was cooked to perfection. I would go lighter on the blackened seasoning next time and skip the non-crispy onions straws. Love those but most definitely they were prepped long before we got there. Minor culinary issue as the halibut sandwich was a delicious combo of fresh ingredients that I had to deconstruct so I could manage to eat it. I think only a mega shark could take a bite of this sandwich as it was meant to be built! So it nicely transformed into a Blackened Halibut Salad plate with a highly recommended crispy Caesar salad for the side. I enjoyed every bite. I would go here again. Service was courteous and prompt, and our food was served on the spot. We were too full to try their recommended warm butter cake. Next time it's Brussel sprouts and desert! Well, maybe a side of a self-deconstructed Halibut Sandwich.
