Ahba Chicken Caesar Salad from 2025 - Yelp Photo.
    Kay D.

What a disappointing experience. Food Order- We ordered two beers, an Arnold Palmer, Ahba burger with spicy garlic fries, Caesar Salad - add chicken, and a Wedge Salad - add chicken. The burger came out first, the salads took an additional 10+ minutes to come out. They should work on time management so all guests receive their food at the same time. Drinks - 3/5 Pilsners were lukewarm for some reason. Arnold Palmer was refreshing and tasty, perfect sweetness and tanginess. Ahba Burger - 3.5/5 It is a smash burger with decent flavor. It didn't really taste or have the texture of a smash burger, no crispy edges. The fries were oversalted. Caesar Salad - 1/5 The dressing was watery and didn't have any flavor. A very plain and sad salad, no croutons just a dusting of breadcrumbs. Wedge Salad - 4.5/5 The creamy bleu cheese dressing was delicious, creamy, flavorful. There was a good amount of topping to lettuce ratio. Chicken - 0/5 Now the worst part of the dining experiencing... the chicken we added to both of the salads. Please see attached pictures. The chicken that came on our salads was ALARMINGLY bland looking. It was a small piece of chicken, pasty, and covered in this wet looking gooey mushy reddish mayonnaise-esque paste. The chicken looked BOILED. We were stunned, it looked nothing like the pictures of the grilled chicken salads from their Yelp. This chicken we received had no caramelization, no grill marks, no sign of browning whatsoever. We are convinced this chicken was cooked in the microwave, steamed, or boiled. This was not restaurant quality chicken. This looked like a science experiment. We asked our waitress TWICE about our chicken and showed her their own Yelp photo of the chicken salad. Her answer was that they used to dry season then grill their chicken by now they use a wet marinade then grill their chicken.... There is just no way. As someone who cooks, there is no way that chicken can be grilled and look like that! Beyond the appearance of the chicken, it tasted terrible. Mushy, pasty, flavorless, it tasted like reheated frozen processed chicken.... Bleu Cheese Dressing Fiasco - 0/5 We asked FOUR times for a side of bleu cheese dressing. 1. While we were dining, we asked our waitress and she gave us a side of bleu cheese. 2. After we finished dining, we placed an order togo and asked the cashier for bleu cheese dressing and he told us they do not carry bleu cheese dressing. He offered ranch instead. 3. We asked our SAME waitress from earlier for a side of bleu cheese dressing and she told us they do not carry bleu cheese.... WHEN SHE LITERALLY GAVE US bleu cheese cheese dressing earlier.... 4. So then we asked a kitchen staff member for bleu cheese dressing and he provided us with a side. Overall - this place needs to work on pacing so that every guest at a table can receive food at the same time, their beers need to be refrigerated until the time of serving, training their staff on the menu and available dressings. AND something, something has to be done about that chicken. We ended up throwing it away. It was disgusting. This was our first and last time here.

Came here for a quick brunch before the beach and really enjoyed it! It's very no frills, diner style ordering, but very yummy! My oat milk latte and the spicy fires (Cajun seasoning) were high lights. Not sure I'd come back for dinner but it's a good quick causal brunch spot!

As others have already said, AhbA is very popular on social media and that's also how I was influenced to try it. First off, parking is limited to what you can find on the street. The restaurant itself is very cute and quaint, with seating both inside and outside. You order at a window and pick up your drink, if you get one, at a different window. The staff was so sweet by the way! Timing worked out perfectly as I came by during happy hour. And their happy hour food and drink selection is pretty good! I ordered their infamous burger (just the single patty though) along with the te culpo cocktail to wash it down. The burger was really yummy I can't lie. It is kinda small given its price, but I thought it was still good to try. The te culpo cocktail was super refreshing and, surprisingly, a bit on the stronger side. I like this spot, so I'll be back for sure. I'd probably get the full burger next time.

It was always in the back of my mind to visit this place whenever I stop by Laguna, since I've seen it all over social media. The aesthetics and vibes were very cute and photogenic, and I see why this place has gone viral. Street parking was a bit rough, but it was probably the spring break crowd. However. Upon the recommendation of a coworker who raved about everything on the menu, I grabbed the classic burger, upgraded to a side caesar salad, and shared a plate of fries. Like, let me play it safe and try the basics on the menu first, because in my head, I was already imagining bringing friends here in the future. Dare I say that everything I ordered was just bland and unseasoned. Burger was decidedly average, nothing special. It looked like, and tasted like a high school cafeteria burger, if I'm going to be so honest. Salad looked good (for the camera), and fries were fine, I guess. I felt so underwhelmed by the food (especially at the price point) since it was such a stark difference from the actual decor and hype I saw online. Although, when I came back to the counter to order a Mexican coke, I did notice they sell sauces on the side for like 75 cents. But, just the overall taste in everything I ordered was underwhelmingly flavorless. I feel like the food should stand on its own without adding sauces. Another thing, which I also see in other reviews: auto tip starts at 20% for a walk-up counter. It def was a bit awkward to manually change the tip amount while the cashier was staring down at me. Lastly, this restaurant has vague/unclear Mediterranean roots, if you know what I mean. The cashier himself seemed hesitant to explain when I asked what kind of Mediterranean food this restaurant serves. On Yelp, the restaurant is listed as "New American" cuisine, but I looked at news articles later on about the chef's inspirations/ recipes, which are served with an "Israeli flare". You can decide yourself what to do with that information.

A great new addition to Laguna Beach! Especially because I feel like there are few establishments I look to in the area. I absolutely LOVED the burger -- I can confidently say it was one of the best smash burgers I have ever had, especially as the chilis were such a nice touch. We also got the mac and cheese which was comforting. The weakest dish of the night was the salmon... the fish was cooked very well and the sauce alone tasted nice, but I just don't think this is my favorite way to eat salmon. I'd definitely love to go back for more burgers but also to try the tri-tip sandwich. I also tried their mezcal and passionfruit cocktail, which was solid. I loved how casual the restaurant was, but the soft glow really romanticized the place. This is definitely a place to consider if you're around Laguna!

    Peach Burrata

AhBa is a great place to eat at whenever we're in Laguna Beach. The atmosphere is so cute, and the food is usually worth the stop. The burger and truffle fries were both really good, and we order them almost every time we visit. The whipped feta is easily my favorite item on the menu and is absolutely delicious. We also tried the seasonal peach burrata. It was good, but I wish the peaches had been a little sweeter. Unfortunately, the rigatoni and cheese was much saltier than expected, and we were pretty disappointed that the wings were sold out because we had been looking forward to trying them. One thing to keep in mind is that you order first and then receive a number for your table. When the restaurant gets busy, finding a seat can be really difficult. I think the experience would be much smoother if the seating situation were managed a little better. It was a bit overwhelming trying to find a table. Overall, AhBa is still a favorite because of the great atmosphere and some standout dishes, and we'll definitely be back.

Came here during a warm beach day and had the best lunch! The mediterranean wrap was very flavorful and filling, i asked for a side of sauce and then ordered fries on the side as well. The side of fries was plenty to share with 1-2 people. The cesar wraps were delicious as well and the food came out fast and hot! There is indoor seating as well as outdoor and a water station to get free water, lots of tables to choose from inside great vibe. They also have a cafe and you can order coffee but there is a cut off time after the morning. Employees were friendly and we had a great time. I'll be back!

I know this is going to be a hot take, but I'm not sure what the hype is about surrounding AhbA. After seeing endless videos on social media about this spot, I figured I'd give it a try. It's tucked a little way off the main area of Laguna but still easily accessible. The inside offers a good amount of seating for the size and the outdoor seating looks a bit close together but nothing that would make or break the experience. Ordering at the window was easy and I was able to find a spot inside. I'd apparently just missed the huge lunch rush which would make sense for a Saturday afternoon. The guy who took my order was super sweet and helpful. My food came out pretty quickly but when they set the plate down, I was a bit disappointed. The burger looked to be pretty standard, like a diner burger. While looks can be deceiving, the burger did have some good flavor, thanks to the pepper spread they put on there. But if I'm honest, the spread is what made the burger good. The Cajun fries were the star of the show, offering a nice kick to complement the burger. I'm glad I gave this place a try and it was a decent meal; however, I'm not sure it's worth the relatively steep price or the hype it's getting. That's the beauty of food though, it's all based on what you like and maybe this burger does it for other people.

This has got to be my favorite place to get a cheeseburger. It is perfectly done, with delicious cheese, and a little spice. Served with a side of crispy fries? Every pregnant girl's dream!! I enjoyed the casual setting of this restaurant and think it's adorable how it's set up along PCH with an ordering window, and a bar pickup window. Great spot to grab a bite before or after the beach

I had the privilege of being waited on by Matt P: the exceptionally congenial & professional manager of the very quaint, the very sexy Ahba Laguna. Matt's promptness, attention to detail, & willingness to provide a seamless experience really made a remarkable first impression on my already stunned face. I had a unique order that is not typically on the Ahba menu. I wanted a glass of OJ, & Ahba was not exactly serving breakfast drinks at 7p when I placed the order. However, Matt made it happen. I do not know how or where Ahba gets their OJ from. I do know the juice tastes like the oranges were picked from a tree of life, squeezed by the tender hands of archangels, & dripped into elegant plastic bottles. The bottle of OJ Matt produced from the back of Ahba might well have been the sweetest, most nourishing, taste slaking juice I have had in years. Two friends dining with me asked for a taste due to my bemusement with it. Their reactions were similar: the OJ elicited awe. I complemented my OJ with a smashburger and fries. A demonstrably savory burger. I had to set my gullet to inhale after the first bite because the smashburger is addicting. Once I had made the smashburger disappear, I ate the fries. Slowly at first, & then more quickly as my appetite for them grew more ravenous. I left Ahba quite sated. Yes the drinks and entrees are all refreshing & enriching. I must recommend begging Matt or whoever at Agba will listen for a bottle of their fresh OJ. To not try the juice at this eatery suggests a wasted life. Orange you glad I passed on this wisdom.

I have driven by here so many times on my way to Laguna and my friend said it was great so I ordered it from Uber eats tonight. I'm definitely hard to please and high maintenance. They have a lot of boxes for me to check off of stuff I don't like cheese I'll let you know how it is! It looks really healthy so that's a good start! The cauliflower was super spicy but the yogurt sauce diluted it luckily. Average cucumber salad but I like the crispy salmon on top! That was the highlight of my delivered meal. The side of chicken breast was OK. The yams were bland and need some tahini I'm excited to dine in next time! I'm sure it will be amazing!

It's a self service, you order get a table and wait for the food... the ambiance is nice it's a cute little place. The food was okay, we ordered Ahba's burger with fries and the breakfast burritos that they have on the menu along with a cucumber salad. My husband love the burger!!! The cucumber salad wasn't really a cucumber salad! We probably found 4 slices of cucumber in there but the vinaigrette dressing was good and finally about the breakfast burrito it was okay we had it better somewhere else. I've ordered a margarita as well which was okay. For the food that we ordered along with the margarita came down to more than $100 with tip which was very expensive for an average food trip!!! If we would ever come back her will only order the burger other than that it wasn't really worth the trip for a cucumber salad that has 3-4 little slices of cucumber and a burrito that's dry and bland! For a place where it is self serve and spend more than a $100 is a no,no for us sorry... including how hard finding a parking as it is.

She made the reservation one week in advance. We arrived at 5:00 PM, the restaurant's opening time, and were seated after only a 4-minute wait. The restaurant's interior is exactly the style I love, elegant white décor, high ceilings with stylish lanterns, and beautiful windows and doors offering a gorgeous ocean view. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as a beautiful bar. The moment you sit down, you immediately feel relaxed and ready to enjoy the experience. The food quality was outstanding! The Seafood Platter ($160/small) was absolutely amazing. It included six oysters, chilled prawns, Hokkaido scallop crudo, kampachi crudo, Maine lobster tail, and king crab. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. The Charred Octopus ($36) with saganaki sauce, spinach, and parsley cream was a very unique and flavorful dish. The Tableside Horiatiki Salad ($53) was refreshing and beautifully prepared. The Branzino ($62/lb) was absolutely delicious! Since the restaurant specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, I knew I had to try the Branzino, and it did not disappoint. It reminded me of the amazing Branzino I enjoyed during my trip to Greece. The Grilled Colorado Lamb Chops ($84) were surprisingly tender and flavorful. The Lemon Roasted Potatoes ($18) were great. For dessert, we tried the Baklava Ice Cream Sundae ($21), which was a very yummy and the Citrus Textures ($19), which was beautifully presented and delicious. For drinks, I ordered the Ares ($30) made with Siete Leguas Blanco Tequila, blood orange liqueur, hibiscus, citrus, and cherry wood smoke. It was a unique cocktail and a great addition to the meal. I have to say, there were no disappointing dishes and everything we ordered was excellent! The service was also outstanding. Our server Julia was friendly, professional, and very attentive. She gave us great recommendations and even surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert. Her wonderful service truly made our dining experience even more memorable. Overall, I had a fantastic birthday celebration at Studio Mediterranean Montage Laguna Beach. With incredible food, excellent service, and a breathtaking ocean view, it is a perfect place for a special occasion. The price is on the higher end, but the quality and experience are worth it. I highly recommend it for birthdays, anniversaries, or any celebration. I will definitely come back and recommend it to my friends!

Our table offered an incredible panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. The elegant Mediterranean-inspired dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the breathtaking coastline. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed, and as the sun slowly set over the ocean, the scenery became even more spectacular. Throughout the evening, the service was exceptional. Our server, Julia, was knowledgeable, attentive, and paced each course perfectly without ever making us feel rushed. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the following dishes: Honey Melon Lassi - (Wonderful) Julia noticed we weren't fond of our original hibiscus drink (forgot the name) and kindly replaced it with this. It was smooth, creamy, naturally sweet with fresh honey melon flavor, and the perfect non-alcoholic drink to begin the meal. Ares Cocktail - (Great) A well-balanced signature cocktail that was refreshing without being overly sweet. It paired very nicely with the seafood courses. Arnold Palmer - (Great) A simple classic done well, with perfectly balanced tea and lemonade that was especially refreshing on a warm summer afternoon. Tableside Horiatiki - (Wonderful) One of the highlights of the evening. This traditional Greek village salad was prepared tableside with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, olives, creamy feta cheese, and olive oil. Watching it come together made the experience even more enjoyable. Seafood Platter/Tower for Two - (Wonderful) Beautifully presented with an impressive assortment of chilled seafood. Everything tasted exceptionally fresh, and the house-made hot sauces paired wonderfully with the seafood. Charred Octopus - (Great) Beautifully grilled with a light char on the outside while remaining very tender inside, although I would have preferred it just slightly firmer. The smoky flavor complemented the natural sweetness of the octopus perfectly. Branzino by the Pound - (Outstanding) Expertly deboned tableside, the Mediterranean sea bass was incredibly moist, flaky, and naturally sweet. Easily one of the best branzino dishes we've had. We chose this preparation over the coffee-ground and sea salt version to keep the wonderfully crispy skin. Grilled Lamb Chops - (Wonderful) Cooked perfectly to our medium-rare request. Juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned, with just enough fat to add richness without feeling greasy. Lemon Roasted Potatoes - (Great) Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with bright lemon flavor and just the right amount of herbs. They paired wonderfully with the lamb chops. Baklava Sundae - (Wonderful) A creative dessert combining flaky baklava with creamy pistachio ice cream. The contrast of textures was delicious without being overly sweet. Citrus Textures - (Great) Light, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser after a rich meal. It paired wonderfully with the Baklava Sundae. Birthday Greek Donut - (Excellent) Freshly made Greek-style donuts drizzled with warm caramel. A thoughtful birthday surprise that was warm, delicious, and memorable. Coffee - (Great) Freshly brewed and a nice finish to an outstanding dinner. Overall, Studio Mediterranean exceeded our expectations. Outstanding food, exceptional service from Julia, an elegant atmosphere, and breathtaking Pacific Ocean views made this birthday celebration unforgettable. Our favorites were the Branzino, Tableside Horiatiki, Seafood Platter, Grilled Lamb Chops, and Baklava Sundae. While it's definitely a special-occasion restaurant, the overall experience made it well worth the visit. We left already talking about what we'd order next time and will definitely be back. A well-deserved 5-star experience!

On this day, our server Edgar went out of his way to deliver outstanding service. My husband asked for something only on the weekday menu and Edgar made it happen - Bravo! He also suggested one of the juices (the carrot and tumeric) and offered a sample so we could try it first (it was delicious). Awesome! That cinnamon roll is the size of a dinner plate, so we split it 3 ways (could have easily served four). The cream cheese frosting isn't overly sweet, so when paired with the candied bacon and maple syrup, it balances out nicely. Yum! Edgar kept my coffee cup full and made sure we didn't need anything. The ceviche is OUTSTANDING. Light chips, fresh fish, expertly seasoned. The addition of the pickled mustard seeds on top add something unique to the flavor profile, so much so that we were googling how to pickle mustard seeds ourselves. Some of the best ceviche we've ever had (and we've had a lot). Could be spicier, but delicious. So the food and service are great - did I mention the view? Sitting on the patio, you overlook a serene canyon and their golf course, and feel like you're in a completely different space. It's so beautiful, peaceful, open, and lush. I could sit on that patio and eat cinnamon rolls and drink my neverending coffee all day long. The ocean-facing restaurants get all the attention in this town. This hidden gem deserves more attention, for sure.

Grilled Cheese - Seriously a MUST order. My picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice. So so good! Shrimp & Chorizo Tacos - We've loved these for years! They took them off the menu for a while and we're so glad they're back because they're sooo good. Burger - 10/10. Juicy, cooked perfectly, and really flavorful lots of fresh ingredients. Ceviche - A little on the small side, but super fresh and flavor is You can't beat the location, it's right on the beach with ocean views and that makes everything better :) We had a group of 7 and our server was awesome. She was really sweet, kept checking in on us, and made everything easy even with a bigger group. If you're in Laguna and looking for a spot with good food, great views, and a chill vibe, The Deck is always a great choice. There's so many options and haven't had a bad dish here ever. I didn't order them this Time but we normally get the dozen oysters and they are delicious

We've been going there for ten years, and the food sucked today. I ordered the clam chowder; looked and seemed like a bowl of paste. I spooned in threes times and not one clam or potato or bacon. Returned that. Tasteless. We ordered the shrimp tacos; usually good. Ugh tasteless weird food. Should have returned that. Our food order went in at 2:14; did not get it until 3:10 or so. I think the staff has given up as well. We will miss what we used to enjoy.

Let me tell you- the unplanned is always the best! I had been wanting to try it but knowing the other locations had hard parking, and man oh man, one of my favorite meals and so well priced! 1. Red snapper with veggies and mushrooms. Wow! The fish was so full of flavor even before the sauce, well portioned, well priced. And the veggies were filling and cooked to perfection! 2. Fish and chips - have been on a mission to find good fish and chips- the fish was huge, tasty and meaty! Just a bit oily, but still YUMMY! Service: Corrina seriously is the reason I am writing this review! As I was frustrated with the parking situation by the harbor and just tired, she turned around my mood! She was so passionate and joyful about what she does and the food she serves! And she gave us the lowdown on the whole construction situation in Dana point! Thank you for your amazing service!!! Lastly: the inside is so pretty, inviting, and spread out and clean! Def will be back!! Thank you!

The owner served us initially, and he was really friendly and funny. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some cocktails. We put in some salads and an appetizer, they were really really good. But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. The food was 3.5/5 I love to support small business, perhaps we will try again another night.

When we entered the entire bottom floor was empty. Waited a bit and a gentlemen showed up and lead us to the roof top. Beautiful little roof top and place overall. Really clean and chic looking! We waited to be seated for, quite a while. That was the thing. To be seated and have someone take our order, it was a very long amount of time. Awkward standing there while others on the rooftop were sitting, talking and eating. I kept making accidental eye contact to the patrons. When we were seated, it took even longer for someone to come by and get our orders. One of my party members were so frustrated, he stated that we should leave in 4 minutes if no one shows up. Luckily for us, someone did. The girl that served us was a sweetheart. Once she was around she got the ball rolling, made sure that our waters were filled. Let us know when certain dishes were already gone. She was great! No complaints. We got dumplings, bolognese, shrimp scampi and I believe the fried chicken dish. The food was good. I got three large dumplings, and paired with the sour cream. Devine. The bolognese pasta was also wonderfully al dente. Everyone liked their food. You know it's good when everyone doesn't speak. I am conflicted. The servers are nice, the food is really good, but the wait times are atrociously long. It could be because we were one of the last people around closing time, it could be they were understaffed. But it was odd to have a majority of the work staff mostly ignore us. I want to come back here again and try their stuffed cabbage dish, but it will have to be on a day I have nothing but free time.

We came in around 8:30p on a Sunday night hoping to get seated, however they said they had full reservations but the bar had some space. We ended up sitting at the bar, I'm so glad I gave it a chance. The service at the bar was really awesome and the bartender/server helping us was really attentive. I ordered a Paloma and my newly fiancé ordered a spicy watermelon margarita. The drinks were pretty good. I preferred his over mine. The Paloma had a blood orange taste that was interesting. The margarita didn't have much of a spice still really good. I really enjoyed the complimentary chips and the trio salsa black bean dip. The salsa could have had a little more spice. Entrees: we ordered the enchiladas divorciadas and the filet taquitos, everything was really delicious. I especially loved the green sauce on the cheese enchilada and the mole was perfect. The taquitos were just as good with a great amount of guacamole. The portions were a decent size. Overall it was a great experience and price point. I'll definitely be coming back the next time we are in Laguna and I'll be sure to make a reservation to get a table next time.
