Tango in Laguna Beach is a total vibe. The atmosphere is intimate and stylish without feeling stuffy--perfect for a date night or a classy night out. The food is outstanding across the board, especially the tapas. Everything comes out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The wine and cocktail selection is on point, and the staff actually knows what they're talking about when it comes to pairings. Service is attentive but relaxed, which fits the Laguna energy perfectly. Between the food, ambiance, and location, Tango feels like one of those spots you keep coming back to when you want something elevated but still comfortable. Easily one of the best dining experiences in Laguna Beach.

I came to Tango for my first time this evening and was very impressed by the decor and ambiance. There are two levels - the first level feels like a lounge/bar and the upstairs gives a speakeasy/exclusive type vibe. I loved all the decor and overall theme. It has an elegance and then a little campy vibe too (like the giant black penguin at the bottom of the spiral staircase). I love all the candles, especially on the top floor. It feels romantic and elegant. They also try to be different with their drinks and have unique drink specials, like the college drop out or third eye blind. I'd love to see some more mocktail options with NA spirits! I ordered a nonalcoholic mojito, and it honestly was pretty flavorless. It kind of tasted like sprite with a sprig of mint (it for sure wasn't muddled). I didn't try the food yet, but from my understanding they're all shared, tapas style plates. It looked like they have a lot of unique options, so I'll have to come back and try more soon! I love the live band on a Saturday night. I hope they have some events or musicians to keep this cute spot alive!

We have been waiting to try this tapas restaurant in the heart of Laguna Beach and made a reservation for tonight 2/21/26. My daughter is in town so we are wining and dining her. They ordered short ribs 2 ways and it came out fast. Bf and daughter said 3 stars so let's bring the rest. I'm extremely disappointed in the soupy paella with 2 Argentinian shrimp. The shrimp heads are quite large but only a bite of edible shrimp itself. The chef doesn't do any modifications but he should try using salt or some type of seasoning. I have to say that tonight was an extremely disappointing experience especially for the extremely high prices. I don't mind paying for a great dining experience however this was not even in the realm of fine dining and certainly not what I was looking forward to. The waiter was definitely not interested nor did he come over and ask how our food was. There was only one other person working here and he only seats people or tells them there's not enough room to be seated. They need a more mature person overseeing the staff here. I would NOT recommend coming here!! :(

Here on a Saturday night, nice ambiance on the second floor. Our waiter, Evan was amazing ! We had ordered multiple tapas, and the handsome devil margarita. All of the tapas were so goood, each so unique.

I absolutely love the new menu at Tango in Laguna Beach. The drinks were incredible, and all of the clarified cocktails were delicious. This place is honestly one of the most underrated spots in Laguna Beach, with such a cool vibe and live music that makes the whole night feel special. My favorite dish was the chicken paella, and their tapas were outstanding across the board. Huge shoutout to Thea and Evan, they are always kid and super friendly, informative, and made the experience even better. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

This place was cute, we stopped here for a drink and an app before our dinner reservation. We got an aperol spritz and the college dropout and shared the beet salad and queso fundido. My husband raved about the college dropout! Both of the tapas were really good!

Everything we tried at Tango was good! The dishes are very small so you really do need to order a lot of food to leave feeling full. We also tried the desserts which were also good and they had beautiful cocktail and mocktail options as well. The inside is very small so I do recommend making reservations in advance. We had no issue finding street parking but the meters in Laguna are outrageously priced so keep that in mind ($7 an hour)

Entrance and outdoor seating at Tango with live jazz music inside

I visited the place on a chilly Sunday night, and even though it was a bit cold, they had cozy outdoor heaters, so it was perfectly comfortable. It's in a great spot in Laguna Beach with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious--I had the paella, and it was really tasty. My server, Thea, was very friendly and attentive, and she had a very elegant style that made the whole dining experience special. One of the standout touches was the live jazz band. I heard other guests mentioning how much they enjoyed both the great food and the live music. It's really a fantastic touch that they have a live band playing jazz--it adds so much to the atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back for both the jazz and the food!

Tango is where the Laguna locals love to go for live music. This place is so much better nowadays. The food is much more elevated than it used to be. This is now like a fine dining menu. They must be under new management because the service is way more professional and the food is quality. They now have Japanese Wagyu, octopus and jumbo scallops. The vegetables are all organic, and seafood is all wild. Laguna's best new secret spot! PS the upstairs dining area is so romantic!

hands down one of the best spots in Laguna !! I tried most of the menu and loved everything ! on top of the food & atmosphere being absolutely on point the staff was great and very timely. Will be coming back soon !

Came in for a Valentine's Day reservation at 8:30PM and was told that we couldn't be seated at a table unless it was at the bar - even though the upstairs section was empty. We waited for an hour and were only served one dish when we ordered 5 total dishes - when we asked for an update on our food, they said they didn't even start it yet. We ordered 3 drinks and were served one appetizer during the entire hour we were there. We weren't given any updates until I asked - we ended up going to an Italian spot across because we were starving. Very disappointed that this was our experience on Valentine's and would not recommend this spot for a special occasion.

Wifey suggested we make it to the Sawdust Festival so while in town we decided to get some dinner. Located near all the hot spots Tango offered convenience with outdoor dinning. First off Niko was our server. Very nice gentleman who was very attentive and informative. Made us feel like we tourist in his homeland of Argentina. Now the food. My expresso Negroni well that was a let down. Not for me. Wifey had a sangria albeit that it's called something else. Tapas were good. Highly recommended the asparagus wrapped with prosciutto. The steak skewer definitely. The issue and only issue I had was the traffic and the smell of fumes. Not much can be done about that maybe next time we will sear indoors.

Took my mother-in-law here for her birthday and we all had such a great experience!…read more We got there around 4-4:15pm and had about a 20 minute wait, but we were able to find a high top table that we got to sit at and were able to order drinks from the bar, so that helped to pass our time. We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. Such a cute place all around. My husband and I can't wait to go back! Parking - they have valet parking available right in front of the restaurant or theres street metered parking in the surrounding area.

On the deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean! What a beautiful view!!…read moreWe came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Upon arrival, you'll find that the valet completely disregards the flow of the street. They use the southbound lane as a parking lot, effectively turning a small two-way road into a one-way alley. The valet guys were also rude to people trying to drive through for no apparent reason. When sitting outside on the deck, there are 12 heaters available, but the hostess wouldn't turn them on. (I've eaten at many waterfront restaurants, and they all turn the heaters on--especially when the temperature drops from 80°F and sunny to 68°F after the sun goes down.) The website states no seating after 8 p.m., yet they were still seating people well after 8:15. The menu was also not what I was expecting. While waiting for dinner, the aroma of marijuana drifted across the dining area. (I know they can't control what happens outside their establishment.) the deck is roped off because apparently it's unsafe and could fall off at any moment in addition to the rotting floor. The food: The menu is underwhelming. I ordered the chicken with sun-dried tomato risotto and vegetables. The risotto was undercooked and flavorless, and the chicken was also lacking flavor. I sampled the New York steak with mashed potatoes--the steak was cooked well, but the potatoes were cold. We didn't even bother ordering dessert and went elsewhere instead.

There's one guy on staff who's always warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, most of my other interactions have been the opposite. I almost always order the avocado toast, and the avocado-to-bread ratio is spot on (which a lot of places surprisingly get wrong!). I also love their matcha latte--the matcha tastes high quality, and I really appreciate that their almond milk is free of gums and oils. I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but I have to knock one off for inconsistent customer service. I've met some genuinely kind and friendly staff, but almost every visit I also encounter someone who comes across as rude or unwelcoming. I also had a confusing experience recently when I ordered my usual iced matcha with maple syrup and was told they couldn't make drinks with maple syrup. I'm not sure if that was a misunderstanding, but it caught me off guard since it's something I've ordered there before. I'll probably ask again next time.

***Little Gem in Laguna Beach***…read more A great restaurant located in the heart of Laguna Beach. This was our second time here and it did not disappoint. My husband and I wandered in on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant has nice indoor and patio seating. Since there was some construction we decided to eat inside. It comes with the perfect melted white cheddar cheese. I ordered the Chipotle Lime Chicken Sandwich, which was delicious. The havarti and guacamole are the perfect topping. I don't know if they make their own buns but they are so delicious. The service was excellent . Nice atmosphere, it feels slightly upscale but still relaxed. Good service! Food: I got the lamp chop salad- VERY good! The lamb was cooked *perfectly* and was very flavorful. It was pretty fatty, but I think that leant to the good flavor and juiciness. It wasn't a massive meal, but I was full after finishing it. My husband got the shrimp pasta and that was VERY good! He scraped his plate clean and raved about it. We split the artichoke appetizer- this I wouldn't get again. It was good in the beginning and the dipping sauce was yummy, but as you ate the artichoke the seasoning and butter/oil ran out and it became gradually less flavorful and more tough. Not to say it was bad, we've just had better. Ultimately the 4/5 is mostly for pricing, it isn't cheap, but given the location the price is pretty comparable to other restaurants in the area. We'll definitely go back!
