Bone marrow, pork and scallops, two to tango
    Alexis E.

Very cute date night or spot for the girlies! Exterior and interior had a fun whimsical decor and the upstairs area had a more moody vibe. Food: Pork belly and scallops 5/5: star of the night!Crispy texture on pork and melts in mouth. Scallops were a great pairing, cooked to perfection and had a nice sear. Light creamy sauce complimented both items without overpowering them. Would definitely get this one again! Empanadas: 2/5 this one was lack luster. Needed more of a punch flavor. Sauce helped but didn't do much to help with flavor. Bone marrow: 3/5 The bread was too soft for my liking. Seasoning was good on bone marrow but could've been better. Sweetness from candied red onions was a new take for me, not my favorite. Two to tango: 3.5/5 Refreshing drink not too strong and had beautiful presentation. Could've used a bit more flavor to it. Service was very attentive and everyone had a good background on the menu for recommendations. Overall would definitely come again to try the rest of the menu and drinks!

Great first experience. We were already in the area on a Saturday afternoon during their music festival and they had options of inside and outside seating with minimal shade. We sat outside and one thing we loved was the service. They had amazing and sweet waitresses and hostesses that helped us throughout our entire afternoon. The food was delicious, although a star removed because my goodness their tapas were expensive for the amount given. We ordered the Pulpo Ceviche ($24 ), Wagyu Empanadas ($18), and Albondigas ($18). Both of us are lean towards a gluten-free and dairy free diet, although no life-threatening allergies, just food sensitivities; and surprisingly both of our stomachs were not upset after!

We enjoyed waygu empanadas, Albondigas - lamb meatballs, Argentine red shrimp and pork belly & scallops. We had that with a bottle of Cava that was lovely with everything. We ended our meal with the twice baked brownies which were to die for. Thea was absolutely delightful as our server. The place is small but quaint. We were celebrating our 37 wedding anniversary. We highly enjoyed and recommend Tango.

Great food, great service, good vibes. Service was excellent, people were friendly, and the drinks and dishes came out quickly. And they have Tinto de Verano, brings me back to Spain.

Can I give it 6 stars? Such a wonderful restaurant! Fun eclectic Tapas menu! High end high quality food. The standouts was the pork belly and the cheese tapas were delicious! 2 delicious vegetarian tapa/salad plates also. Please come and support this locally owned and managed restaurant! Very charming. Fun for groups or a special date.

Tango in Laguna Beach is a total vibe. The atmosphere is intimate and stylish without feeling stuffy--perfect for a date night or a classy night out. The food is outstanding across the board, especially the tapas. Everything comes out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The wine and cocktail selection is on point, and the staff actually knows what they're talking about when it comes to pairings. Service is attentive but relaxed, which fits the Laguna energy perfectly. Between the food, ambiance, and location, Tango feels like one of those spots you keep coming back to when you want something elevated but still comfortable. Easily one of the best dining experiences in Laguna Beach.

I came to Tango for my first time this evening and was very impressed by the decor and ambiance. There are two levels - the first level feels like a lounge/bar and the upstairs gives a speakeasy/exclusive type vibe. I loved all the decor and overall theme. It has an elegance and then a little campy vibe too (like the giant black penguin at the bottom of the spiral staircase). I love all the candles, especially on the top floor. It feels romantic and elegant. They also try to be different with their drinks and have unique drink specials, like the college drop out or third eye blind. I'd love to see some more mocktail options with NA spirits! I ordered a nonalcoholic mojito, and it honestly was pretty flavorless. It kind of tasted like sprite with a sprig of mint (it for sure wasn't muddled). I didn't try the food yet, but from my understanding they're all shared, tapas style plates. It looked like they have a lot of unique options, so I'll have to come back and try more soon! I love the live band on a Saturday night. I hope they have some events or musicians to keep this cute spot alive!

Here on a Saturday night, nice ambiance on the second floor. Our waiter, Evan was amazing ! We had ordered multiple tapas, and the handsome devil margarita. All of the tapas were so goood, each so unique.

We have been waiting to try this tapas restaurant in the heart of Laguna Beach and made a reservation for tonight 2/21/26. My daughter is in town so we are wining and dining her. They ordered short ribs 2 ways and it came out fast. Bf and daughter said 3 stars so let's bring the rest. I'm extremely disappointed in the soupy paella with 2 Argentinian shrimp. The shrimp heads are quite large but only a bite of edible shrimp itself. The chef doesn't do any modifications but he should try using salt or some type of seasoning. I have to say that tonight was an extremely disappointing experience especially for the extremely high prices. I don't mind paying for a great dining experience however this was not even in the realm of fine dining and certainly not what I was looking forward to. The waiter was definitely not interested nor did he come over and ask how our food was. There was only one other person working here and he only seats people or tells them there's not enough room to be seated. They need a more mature person overseeing the staff here. I would NOT recommend coming here!! :(

Tango is one of those places I keep coming back to! I've been here for drinks, tapas, date nights, and even just hanging out with my girlfriends, and it's always a good time. Lately I've been really into their paella and cocktails both are consistently great. The beet salad is also so good and super fresh. It just feels like a hidden gem in Laguna. Everything about the place is solid. Definitely one of my go to spots for date nights!

This place was cute, we stopped here for a drink and an app before our dinner reservation. We got an aperol spritz and the college dropout and shared the beet salad and queso fundido. My husband raved about the college dropout! Both of the tapas were really good!

    Lauren S.

Everything we tried at Tango was good! The dishes are very small so you really do need to order a lot of food to leave feeling full. We also tried the desserts which were also good and they had beautiful cocktail and mocktail options as well. The inside is very small so I do recommend making reservations in advance. We had no issue finding street parking but the meters in Laguna are outrageously priced so keep that in mind ($7 an hour)

A huge shoutout to our server, Patrick, who was absolutely phenomenal. He was exceptionally professional, genuinely kind, incredibly attentive, and somehow managed to make the entire experience feel both polished and completely effortless. His knowledge of the food, ingredients, menu, and overall dining experience is at an elite level. You can tell he genuinely knows and cares about hospitality--not just taking an order, but creating an experience. Patrick was attentive without ever being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and consistently warm and personable throughout our meal. That combination is rare. I do want to add that the rest of the staff is also on his wavelength, the bussers, food runners and hosts were all very professional and pleasant. Very polished and skilled workforce. And of course, the setting at Splashes is hard to beat. Dining right along the Laguna Beach coastline with those incredible ocean views makes for an unforgettable atmosphere. Everything we had was remarkably tasty, but the standouts for me were the scallops and the filet mignon. Both were exceptional and easily the highlights of the meal. The scallops were beautifully prepared and packed with flavor, while the filet was exactly what you hope for when ordering one--a genuinely satisfying centerpiece to the meal. And then there was the complimentary birthday crème brûlée, which was an unexpectedly excellent finale. Sometimes the "birthday dessert" feels like an obligatory afterthought. This was absolutely not that. It was delicious and a fantastic way to finish the meal. Patrick deserves serious recognition. Servers at his level are a major reason people remember a restaurant long after the meal is over. He represents hospitality at its absolute best. Fantastic experience from start to finish. We'll absolutely be back; and hopefully lucky enough to have Patrick taking care of us again. Muy buen trabajo amigo, hasta me convertiste en fan de Messi y la albiceleste ! Salud

The owner served us initially, and he was really friendly and funny. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some cocktails. We put in some salads and an appetizer, they were really really good. But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great.
