I can't believe I never knew about the restaurant. It is right across from Aliso Creek beach up in an area called The Ranch. There's a beautiful golf course situated in the basin of a hilly area -- the views are gorgeous. Across from the pro shop, you'll find Harvest, a beautiful restaurant with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. First, you MUST try their giant cinnamon roll. We got ours with the candied bacon on the side and I'm craving it just thinking about it! Everything we ate was delicious. They even have fantastic coffee drinks too! Shout out to Frank for the fabulous service! I can't wait to come back soon.

This is a really beautiful spot. The restaurant itself feels like a nice slightly upscale type of lodge. The menu is really thoughtful and well put together. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. They mention a lot of locally grown produce items on the menu. The Caesar salad was perfect. The wagyu cheesesteak was more bready than I would have liked, but still good. The homemade chips were fabulous. I would get this just to bring home. The apple and pecan pie were really really good. The burger was absolutely massive. Other than the salads, everyone we were with stated that their food was a bit unseasoned. I suggest putting salt and pepper on the tables, if the goal of the chef is to season foods so lightly. Why not 5 stars?? The service was just okay. Our server was really sweet. She tried hard. Little things were missing, like clearing plates. Offering cream with coffee. Refilling or asking for additional beverages. We had to flag her down a few times with empty glasses that had been there for awhile. The busboys were very helpful once we flagged them. I mention it, because that kind of service doesn't match the prices or the vibe I think they are going for. It is still a lovely place, and we will be back. Note: it's valet only.

This place blew me away. First you are greeted with free valet parking. Next you see the stunning views of the luscious green mountains overhead. The staff are wonderful, very professional and greeting you by your last name. The texture of the menu is the best I have ever felt. The food is fantastic too, large portions and high quality. Be sure to walk around and enjoy the views after eating.

I was so happy with my experience here! Harvest is located on a ranch. There is a hotel where you can stay and a golf course as well. Parking for the golf course and the restaurant is valet only but it is free. I didn't make a reservation to go in but they had lots of tables on a weekday. They have both plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. The indoor vibes are very warm and cozy and the outdoor vibes are nice with the views of the ranch. In the indoor seating, they also have couches and booths. Additionally, they have seating where they have large windows and it also overlooks the ranch! The service here was great. Upon seating they got us started with waters and offered to move heaters next to us since it was a cloudy day. We also got blankets to stay warm. Their food was also really good! We wanted to try the breakfast menu but got there at around 12 (which is when they start serving their lunch menu), but even so, the lunch menu had so many options we wanted to try. The appetizers and starters all sound good, and the servers are really warm and nice introducing the menu. We ordered the french onion soup, wild mushroom pasta, and the baked lobster mac and cheese. They were all delicious! The french onion soup is flavored perfectly and I loved the cheese on top. The wild mushroom pasta was also delicious. The pasta was cooked nicely and the mushroom flavor was strong. The mushroom itself is really soft and not hard at all. The lobster mac and cheese had the perfect ratio of lobster to cheese. I really enjoyed my experience at the restaurant. After finishing food at Harvest, you can walk a little next to the golf course, or take pictures in front of the mountains of the ranch. If you go during the Christmas season, they also have a huge christmas tree outside the restaurant.

TLDR; beautiful restaurant, very attentive staff, and mixed flavor food. The drinks were delicious and perfectly made. The appetizers were good and flavorful especially the bread, cheese board, shrimp cocktail, and croquettes. The onion soup was flavorful and good as well. The salmon wasn't bad but something within the flavor of the sauce it was drenched in made it off putting. The reduction in the braised short rib ruined the meal and the potato pie was more of a leftover hash brown. The scallops were alright but could have been cooked a touch longer which left them a little slimey. The milk and cookies saved the dessert because they were delicious! Get these and do not miss out.

Located inside The Ranch at Laguna Beach, the restaurant oversees the golf course from outside patio. The staff is friendly and kind in preparing celebration for special occasions. The majority of the ingredient comes fresh from its own garden, which you can schedule the tour directly with concierge. Highly recommend the tour to dive deep into its sustainability effort and to get some action at the "chicken theatre". The menu changes seasonally to always have the best ingredients, so you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

In a canyon in Laguna Beach: Simply wonderful atmosphere to have a long, leisurely luncheon with longtime friends. Luckily, We came at a non-busy time. It was so extremely relaxing to enjoy food, wine and conversation at a beautiful restaurant in a canyon of Laguna Beach where we could actually hear each other. The patio setting ideal. Our waiter, Edgar, made us feel so welcome and didn't rush us in any way. That being said, I didn't think the food was overly spectacular. It was very good, truly. I would definitely go there again. Perhaps order that special hamburger that my friend had. She said it was delicious. I had the chicken club sandwich - a great combination of fresh ingredients, just a bit dry. If I ordered again, I'm sure I won't insult the cook by asking for a little extra mayo. Chocolate chip cookies for dessert were perfect. We loved having the actual wine bottle brought to our table so we could see it poured directly from the bottle. Class. And a terrific wine list! See Guy S. review who thoughtfully posted the Wine & Spirit list. : ) Overall it was decent food with superb service in a beautiful setting. Valet parking & a little navigation needed to drive up to find the actual restaurant.

Celebrating at harvest is absolutely the best experience you could have whether it be a birthday or a wedding or an anniversary or just life in general.. It's always better at harvest. We had the most amazing waiter , Sal he gave much personal attention. It was fantastic. A handwritten birthday card was given. The dessert was amazing handwritten chocolate on the plate. The food is so good. It's far a table. They have very seasonal delicious fresh food. The pumpkin gnocchi was so delicious the crispy octopus one of my favorites, the French onion soup, and the butternut squash soup. You must try before they go away. The roasted chicken is one of my favorites and for dessert if you can have the apple pie if you have room left, you must try it it is absolutely out of this world just like grandma would make!

While staying a few days at The Ranch at LB recently, we had both breakfast and dinner at Harvest. First of all, I was impressed with all the restaurant staff we encountered - they are friendly, professional, and go out of their way to make everything special. Special shout out to our server, Daniel at breakfast. We both had the caramelized onion/squash quiche and we just had to experience a $23 cinnamon roll! It was nearly the size of a dinner plate with cream cheese topping, candied bacon and a ton of syrup. The cream cheese on top was a great addition, but I could have done without the candied bacon or maybe just regular crispy bacon bits - I thought it was way too sweet. But that's me...my hubby thought it was perfect as is lol! For dinner, we had great cocktails at the bar and the hostess was so accommodating when we arrived without a reservation. While we were happy to grab seats at the bar and order a meal there, she was able to find us a table by the time we finished drinks and were about to order. My salmon dish was perfectly prepared and so yummy, and my husband enjoyed the pork chop that our server recommended. The ambiance of the restaurant is awesome and the views are incredible. So an A+ for food, ambiance and service - we'd definitely return.

We had a team dinner at Harvest and the entire experience was absolutely top-notch. Despite being a large group, our server, Crews, went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of - truly one of the best service experiences I've had in a while. He was attentive, warm, and made the night feel really special. He definitely had us laughing the entire night so we really enjoyed his company. I ordered the braised short rib and it did not disappoint - so flavorful and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we went all out and tried several options, and honestly, it's hard to choose a favorite. The apple pie a la mode and chocolate chip cookies were both next-level good. Between the great food, incredible service, and beautiful setting at The Ranch, I highly recommend Harvest... whether you're dining as a group or planning a more intimate night out.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and it was amazing. It's tucked in a little area in Laguna beach and it's valet only. I guess the restaurant is located in the golf course but the views are amazing. It feels like you're not even in Orange County anymore. We ordered the margarita which was so good and refreshing! The French onion soup and the duck drumlettes are a must try also. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. Would definitely come back for an occasion :)

I love this restaurant! I've been here a bunch of different times for brunch or lunch. For brunch I love their eggs benedict. For lunch I love their spinach artichoke dip appetizer& the duck wings appetizer. Service can be kind of slow but they're always very friendly, plus it's nice to take it slow some days anyways. Beautiful views, friendlier than friendly staff from the hotel entrance to the table. I think it's valet only

    Crispy Duck Drumettes (AMAZING)

Celebrated my husband's birthday with a fantastic dinner! Chef Greg spoiled us with amazing dishes and Crews was a top notch server. The food was absolutely delishious! So much to rave about. We really enjoyed Crispy Duck Drumettes, French Onion Soup, Porcini Crusted Ribeye and Pistachio Crème Brûlée. Besides the food the environment and views were impeccable. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is open to the public. You do not have to be a hotel guest.

Are reservations required for dining on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? I don't see a waiting list option on the site.

Reservations are strongly recommended for dining as between resort guests and locals, it can fill up a week or more in advance. You can book a dining reservation here: https://www.opentable.com/restref/client?rid=150445&restref=150445

Parking during the lunch hour can be a problem, you may have to walk a bit from the upper neighborhood. Some of the residents there do not hold back their disdain for tourists parking in front of their homes. Place your order outside, like a fast food joint, get a number and sit down somewhere after you get your drinks from another outside window. They are very busy here and have a good system in place to process and complete the orders. The wait time for your food is minimal. The vibe here is touristy yet the crowd is young. Beach goers mostly I suspect. Picnic tables inside with an assortment of round patio tables and chairs inside and out. The burgers taste good. They are a double patty, so they were cooked up quickly and were definitely served hot off the grill. The meat is without much taste. The cheese is American which is nothing more than a mysterious blend of yellow ingredients, few which are probably real dairy products. It does melt easily though and kind of makes a runny addition to the sauce they use. Flavor from the sauce and the texture from the meat made the burger interesting but not great. Probably on the level of an In and Out puck. The bun was ok, it held up well to the sauces. Since this a well cooked double patty, there was no juice to sog up the bun. Of course the lack of juice makes the overall product lacking. The fries are great and ample but the stingy amount of catsup provided is almost good enough for only half the fries. The ice tea is average and very small. It is not enough to wash down the meal. Make sure you get waters because your ice tea will not be refilled.

The iconic Maine lobster roll is made from simple ingredients, It is the perfect combination of mounds of lobster , mayonnaise, and lemon juice maybe a little salt.. served chilled in a toasted bun. Sometimes you get minced celery . What was served to me at Hook and Anchor was a lobster roll served in a brioche bun, and when I looked at it, it looked like it had hot cheese on top of it. But that wasn't cheese.. That was hot garlic mayonnaise, or aoili. I had to eat it with a knife of fork, and the overwhelming flavor is garlic. That's too bad because lobster has a delicate flavor and overpowering it with hot garlic, mayonnaise , it just was not very good It was bad. Again a lobster roll is served cold and that it was hot made it worse. If this is what you serve please don't say it's a Maine style lobster because it absolutely is not. However, we did split a clam chowder and that was delicious so my guess is that they have items on the menu that are good and I probably will go back to try their other entrees But please don't tell people that this is a Maine style lobster roll. And lastly, there is another classic style of lobster., I think that's considered New York, and that is warm a lobster with melted butter, drizzled all through it that I think does have minced celery . This style of lobster roll is decadent and delicious. And I don't understand how people who review lobster rolls on TikTok and Instagram somehow in Orange County don't know what a classic Maine lobster roll is

The owner served us initially, and he was really friendly and funny. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some cocktails. We put in some salads and an appetizer, they were really really good. But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. The food was 3.5/5 I love to support small business, perhaps we will try again another night.

The atmosphere is always most pleasant inside and they've continued to provide outdoor opportunities worthy of one's consideration. The sand play area outside is great for small children with lounge seating to enjoy spirits and conversation. The entry deck has nice high tops - with glimpses of the ocean across PCH. Heaters scattered throughout. Note: PCH drivers / vehicles can be interruptive when trying to enjoy the outdoor settings - but it is typically brief and intermittent. Host / Service staff have always been knowledgeable, attentive and on point. Food (options / preparation) is consistently well done with delicious options to indulge or share together.

Disaster Birthday. Unfortunate…read more Went to Salt Creek Grill for my birthday with my girlfriend and my parents while we were back in Dana Point. We picked it because we've driven past it forever and it always seemed like one of those solid local spots. Saturday night, special occasion, figured it was a safe choice. It ended up being one of the more disappointing dinners we've had in a while. Prices are high across the menu, which would be fine if the food matched, but it really didn't. Nothing was awful, just very average for what they charge. The kind of meal where you keep waiting for something to justify the price and it never does. Service was also strange the whole night. We put in the reservation notes and even called ahead to say we were celebrating a birthday, and when we got there nobody mentioned it at all. My girlfriend went up to the host stand to check on it and got a scoff and a very confused response like she was asking for something unusual? High schoolers can be great employees but need genuine training. Our waiter didn't seem rude exactly, just very low effort. A lot of mumbling, short answers, not really paying attention even though the restaurant wasn't busy. At one point we ordered a Sprite and a sparkling water, and when the drinks came out we asked which was which. He told us to taste them and figure it out, which kind of summed up the level of service the whole night. The birthday dessert finally came out right after we paid the bill, right before we were about to leave, like someone remembered at the last second. Overall it just felt like a place that isn't trying very hard anymore. You can't charge those prices, have a half-empty dining room on a Saturday, and give that level of food and service and expect people not to notice. Sad it did not live up to its lore. Food was maybe a 5/10 Service around a 3/10 Overall experience probably a 4/10 Not the worst restaurant ever, but definitely not somewhere I'd go back to, and not somewhere I'd recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner in Dana Point. I have told many people not to go there.
