Celebrated two friend's birthdays. We absolutely LOVED it! The food, the ambiance and the server, Kate! She is a national treasure as is the food. Super delicious. Since there were 4 of us, we really tried a lot of items. We had the crispy rice tuna-OMG delicious! We tried the wedge and the spinach salads-I'm a salad lover so...there is that! Portbella mushroom bruschetta was delightful and packed a punch of flavor. Next we had the branzino which we would all get again. Light and flavorful. short rib pappardel which is worth the trip alone! SERIOUSLY!! We finished with two deserts (it was a birthday!) the mascarpone and lemon cake. Both super flavorful and beautifully prepared. My cucumber mocktail was great too. One thing that struck us is how Kate described the vibe there. She said in her 30 years of working in the food industry, Magellan (and the other owners) had created the best work environment she has ever experienced. We truly believed her because of how excited she genuinely was to assist us in our selections. Came here before going to a show and it has a nice atmosphere, the drinks were good, not super amazing. The food was good, but not memorable. A week or two after going there, it's hard to remember what was ordered since it was not a standout The location is great, a block south of the main area, parking, like anywhere in Laguna Beach can be a real challenge. If you get lucky, there's street parking or you can find a spot in a local structure nearby. When we got here, the hostess made a big deal about the reservation and us being early; however there was plenty of available seating and we got in without issue. I finally got to try this place last night! We got there around 8 o'clock and it was really busy. The vibes are sexy, dark, and lively. There's live music which adds to the vibes. We had great service. We ordered the biscuits that tasted a lot like the red lobster cheddar biscuits. We ordered the lamb chops. The portion was pretty small for the cost. There were three tiny little lamb chops on top of croutons and vegetables. I really enjoyed the beef stroganoff pasta though. It had a lot of flavor and was a good size portion. read more

Great restaurant for the area, I have my food recommendations at the bottom. Before I get to that, I do have some strong recommendations for the management: 1. Separate the kitchen with a wall. The hospital-grade lights are too much for the moody-feel you almost have (I know what you're going for but it just doesn't work in such a dark restaurant) 2. Change the 3 lights hanging lights in the front to a warmer bulb. The whole restaurant except those 3 have warm bulbs and it totally kills the vibe for the people sitting there. Other than that the food is really good and the chef came from a Mastro's restaurant. I got the Beef Stroganoff (so creamy and delicious) and my husband got the fried chicken (amazing!). Perfect spot for a date night or pit stop for a drink at the bar. I did the latter. I chose the Pink Pony Club as my drink of choice. The combination of gin, tequila, and prosecco is what got me. All three have a unique sweetness that combine together beautifully. It comes with a crystal stick that can be used to stir your drink and yes, add some more sweetness! It still remains quite dry and very exciting to drink. Super refreshing and spritzy! The bar staff is super welcoming and fun to be around. read more

Richard took great care of us Saturday night. (he was actually pulled from being our waiter to going back behind the bar) Nazz took great care of us after that. This restaurant is so new, we know they are working out some kinks. Just like any new restaurant goes through. We enjoyed the menu. The Bronzino was perfect perfectly prepare prepared. With a fun corn, jalapeño waffle. I really enjoy their wine list. (they are working on a mocktail menu for people like me) The piano player was lovely. Her voice was simply lovely.. ( just a tiny bit too loud) but very lovely The lounge bar is gorgeous. The parking... listen, it's Laguna Beach. It is what it is. And, it's summertime so it's very crowded. Was invited by a friend who knows the owner and management..they are starting a brunch menu, and we were able to sample several offerings. Service was fantastic, all the staff very welcoming and professional. They even have a cart they wheel around from which they serve Mimosas. The drinks are well-made at the bar, a bit frisky with the pricing just the same. Loved the avocado toast and the blackened salmon with salad. A beautiful place inside, wonderfully decorated. We couldn't wait to try this and it didn't disappoint. They were only open for a day, so still working out the kinks. We started with cocktails, a Paloma and the Summer Solstice- both were excellent and the Solstice was VERY unique with a layer of olive oil and if you like cantaloupe give this a try it was created by the owner herself. We started with the grilled artichoke app - this was a bit of a hit and miss. The flavor was delicious and they topped each half with some sautéed onion which complimented the artichoke but the leaves, especially from the outside to the middle, were a bit dry since they grilled it. You had to wrestle with the leaf to try to get the meat off of it but when you got to the heart it was a delicious combination of artichoke,smoke, lemon and sweet onions. I would suggest they steam the artichoke and then finish it on the grill. Next we split a wedge - the marjoram dressing worked perfect. Since we were splitting all our dishes it would be great if they would do the splitting as most upscale restaurants do for you. They kind of just brought out the dishes let us fend for ourselves For our entrées we had the rigatoni bolognese and the jumbo beef potstickers . Just a note, the potstickers are fried (see pics) which was fine , we just weren't expecting that. But if you like short ribs this dish is for you - filled with a delicious combo of blue cheese and short ribs. The beet salad on the plate was kind of worthless - it was just more of a garnish and not really edible. Please come up with a better alternative. The rigatoni was very good and the pasta was just slightly al dente which i really like. Note it's a bit on the sweet side and Richard our waiter ( who was very attentive and very good) said that was because they added some balsamic to the sauce. As you can see from the dish they could complement it with something - it looks a little sad in the bowl by itself. We were so excited to try this place. We have been waiting for some time for something great to open here. Our experience did not disappoint. The staff is unbelievably welcoming and friendly. I must have heard from 4 people saying "welcome! thank you for coming in." We came right when they opened at 4:30 and got a spot at the bar. By 5:15 the front dining area was packed. Music starts at 6:00. They have a baby grand piano and some talented musicians. We got a variety of cocktails. Each was beautifully presented and well crafted. We got the bolognese and split the dish. It was flavorful. Different than ordering in an Italian restaurant, but delicious either way. The ambiance is truly lovely. The furniture and setting are all beautiful. The barstools are comfy. The actual bar is gorgeous. There is music, it is lively and also classy. The place is new, like any new restaurant there are little tiny kinks they have to work out. Be patient and know that everyone is working hard and trying their best to bring you a great experience. We started with a Tuna Crisp that wasn't crisp at all. The tuna was finely minced and served over a squishy tot that was supposed to be crispy. The texture was all mush. We had the spinach salad with added shrimp. This was okay, nothing wow, but not terrible. The added shrimp were 2 and cost an additional $16 onto the salad. The biscuits were peak 1986 Cheddar Bay. Served with an unsalted butter and a grating of cheese. Main course was the Branzino with a waffle and Brussels sprouts. The fish was cooked well. It just didn't have any seasoning, even the sauce lacked flavor. It wasn't served with anything acidic. No lemon, lime...salt, herbs. Very bland. The Brussels were fried and had good texture, but again, no seasoning to taste. We thought the waffle was an odd pairing but it was cooked well. We skipped dessert. Went there for dinner and we'll wait a while to see if they can figure out the kitchen a bit better. The service was friendly and our server was pleasant. Everyone was quite nice. read more

Such a great dinner at Noble Ace! Everything we ordered was incredible. The burrata was fresh and flavorful, the scallops were perfectly seared and practically melted in your mouth, and the crispy tuna bites were SO good. I think the Noble Ace restaurant has an identity crisis. On one hand they say they want to take you back to old Hollywood glamour. On the other, the interior feels like an old hotel dining room where you'd go for the free breakfast. Adding to that visual, the tables are bare when they seat you which is never in a fine dining restaurant. The dish ware is uninspired, the service was just ok and you're eating with a bunch of guys wearing shorts, backward hats and logo t shirts. The menu reads well, the fish we had was well prepared, and the restaurant was busy which is a good thing. It's the little things, like the waiter clearing my salad plate and fork but not replacing the fork so when the entree came I couldn't eat it. If you want to serve high end food with prices to match, the restaurant should look and feel that way as well. read more

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Noble Ace for our 10-year wedding anniversary. We decided to do the Chef's Table experience, and it could not have been a more special way to celebrate. The chef customizes the menu for your evening, and you dine in a private room that feels intimate while still giving you a front-row view of the action. The private dining room has high-top tables with a huge window looking directly into the kitchen, so you can watch the chef and his team work throughout the evening. There's another large window looking into the restaurant's lounge area, and depending on where you sit, you can even catch a partial ocean view through the front entrance. The room has doors that close, so it feels private, but you still feel connected to everything happening around you. And then there's the FOOD. Wow. The night we went, the chef chose a Southern-inspired menu featuring dishes influenced by some of his grandmother's recipes. The majority of what we were served isn't even on the regular menu, which made the experience feel truly customized and special. One of the biggest standouts was a rib dish with a gluten-free batter that was fried to perfection. Somehow, it didn't even taste fried--it was incredibly light and flaky, with ribs that were so tender they practically fell off the bone. The fried green tomatoes were phenomenal, the cornbread waffle was SO good, and dessert was an amazing play on peach cobbler in pie form. It really felt like a true scratch kitchen. Every course was incredibly flavorful and seasoned just right. You could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients, and nothing felt overly complicated or fussy--just really thoughtful, delicious food. Another thing that made the experience so memorable was how involved the chef was. He came out with every single course to present the dish and talk about it with us. Even as the restaurant got busier, he continued coming table-side, which says a lot about how much pride he takes in what he creates. Our server, Tim, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and just genuinely a great guy. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, and you could tell there's a really special energy among the team. Unfortunately, I don't have a single picture to share, which is pretty unusual for me when dining somewhere this beautiful. But honestly, I think that says everything. We were so immersed in the experience--enjoying the food, talking with the chef and staff, and celebrating together--that taking pictures never even crossed my mind. We left completely stuffed and incredibly happy. The portions and number of courses were perfect, especially since we came hungry! I'm already excited to come back and experience the regular menu. And as much as Noble Ace feels like a hip, swanky date-night spot, I was pleasantly surprised to see they have a kids' menu. We'll definitely be bringing the whole family next time. Wow! Nobel Ace was the best meal of my bachelorette trip to Laguna beach. We let them know ahead of time we were coming for a special occasion. We were greeted with welcome champagne in the private dining room, a card from the staff & complimentary dessert. This was a first class experience from entry to exit. We were greeted with a smile & the hostess immediately said congratulations while guiding us to our table. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. The ambiance of the restaurant was outstanding and unlike anything in downtown Laguna. I loved the live music in the bar area, the sliding doors that closed off the private dining room, and the chandeliers. We felt VIP! We came here tonight to celebrate my best friend's birthday, and unfortunately, the entire experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. I specifically noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her birthday, yet the only acknowledgment we received was a note card with her name and "Happy Birthday" written on it. There was no genuine effort whatsoever to make the occasion feel special. Despite having a reservation, we were seated in a corner with what felt like zero consideration given to the occasion. What made it worse was seeing walk-in guests who had been on the waitlist being seated in much better locations. If you're going to make a reservation and go out for a special occasion, you expect at least some thought to be put into the experience. The staff and hostess also came across as extremely insincere and unwelcoming. At one point, when it became clear that we were trying to celebrate, we were essentially given a dessert menu and told we could order something to "really celebrate." Considering the desserts are around $20 each, that felt especially tacky. A small complimentary dessert or even a genuine gesture would have gone a long way. And then there was the dog situation. They allowed a small pet dog into the restaurant that was clearly not a service dog. The owners even brought in a dog bed and placed it next to their table. I found this completely inappropriate for a restaurant, particularly one that is presenting itself as an upscale dining establishment. Overall, this was a really unpleasant experience. Between the lack of consideration for a birthday celebration, the seating, the attitude of the staff, the way the "celebration" was handled, and the pet being allowed inside, I left feeling like the restaurant simply didn't care about creating a welcoming or enjoyable experience for its guests. Another 5 Star visit to the new Noble Ace that is now for sure in our date night rotation!! We have been 3 times and each visit has been first class. The host team does their best to make table accommodations with a smile, bartenders and bar staff all attentive, engaging with solid cocktails. Service team is truly a team. They all work together to make us feel welcomed and ensure we have all that we need to dig into the amazing menu choices. Fried Chicken is not something I typically order at restaurants , but at Noble Ace it may become my regular order, pretty damn good! Had an incredible dinner at the Chef's Table at Noble Ace last night. What an experience! We shared our way through the menu, and honestly, I couldn't pick a favorite because every single dish was outstanding. The cheddar biscuits are absolutely to die for. The portobello mushroom bruschetta was one of those dishes where every bite was an explosion of flavor. The potstickers were another huge surprise--packed with incredible flavor and definitely a must-order. The wedge salad was a perfect classic, the pork chop was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the gluten-free fried chicken was unbelievably good (you'd never know it was gluten-free!). The cocktails were just as impressive. I loved the Pink Pony Club--it was fun, fresh, and surprisingly well balanced without being overly sweet. Their classic dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives was spot on. We finished with the croissant cheesecake and an amazing after-dinner espresso cocktail with orange liqueur that was perfectly balanced and the ideal ending to the meal. From the beautiful space and lively atmosphere to the exceptional food and drinks, everything exceeded expectations. Huge compliments to the chef and the entire team for such a memorable evening.
