    Short Rib Stroganoff

I went to this place with my dad after finding it on Yelp. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere inside, though it felt a bit too dark. Our server was okay -- not very friendly, but maybe she was just having a tough day or was behind. The food was decent but not perfect. I ordered the tuna sandwich and the Stroganoff spaghetti, and while the flavors were good, both dishes felt overly oily.

Reunion is located in Boat Canyon shopping center in Laguna Beach. There is ample parking and reservations are recommended during the summer. My friend and I decided to split the Sourdough cheeseburger that came with several side choices. We chose the shoestring fries and we ordered an additional side of crispy slaw. The cheeseburger was ok, nothing special. Seemed a bit greasy to me. The shoestring fries were good and the crispy slaw had way too much Thai peanut dressing. The prices are a bit high for average food.

Came to Reunion after an eventful wedding weekend on a Sunday morning! Ordered the Hawaiian bread French toast, Chicken & Biscuits, Breakfast Sandwich with sausage, Hangover breakfast burrito, and the chilaquiles w/ over medium eggs. Started off with the French toast, which was phenomenal, a little too crunchy and stiff at the bottom but delicious otherwise. The chicken and biscuits was delicious and savory! The breakfast burrito was huge and full of flavor! The chilaquiles were a little dry but had delicious taste. The breakfast sandwich was good but the sausage patty had a very weird consistency, so we took it off and ate just an egg and cheese sandwich. All in all 4/5. The service was great and fast, our server was very attentive and always fast with refills. The restaurant was a bit on the slower side but it's expected on a Coachella weekend, the city was a bit less packed than normal. The vibe was quiet with an older crowd trickling in throughout the morning.

This place definitely disappointed me. I have had this restaurant on my list for awhile and I will not go back. The experience was not horrible. Mainly the food and price was disappointing . The food was very average and the price point was quite high. Service was great. We received the food very fast. And the server gave us good options. The place is pretty small but we were lucky to not have a wait. I am not sure if there usually is one but the place was busy but not absolutely full. As for the food, my favorite plate was the jalapeño poppers. They were grilled nicely and the bacon was crispy. As for my plate, I tried the shortrib based off of the servers recommendation. Though it was pricier, I felt that I would rather pay for something amazing than something basic. The food was good but it was nothing better than what you can get an any other restaurant. The mashed potatoes were fine, but they did not stand out. They were not buttery or garlicky. They were just plain, also the onion straws did nothing for the plate. As for the horseradish sauce, it was only drizzled on, I requested an additional side after receiving the dish in hopes that it would add a pop of flavor. I was incorrect. It was more of a horseradish sauce diluted in sour cream. The Asian crispy ribs were good. Definitely crispy. But again nothing out of this world. I can best compare the food and vibe to a Yard House. Though I think you would have more options and better flavored dishes at Yard House. The price here was not justified. The food here wasn't amazing. The portions weren't extra large (just normal). So I think it's a bit over priced. I say skip this restaurant. Find a Yard House or a Lazy dog. Honestly, I would have been happier going to the Ruby's Diner nearby. Again, service and all of the employees were nice. Just the food did not hit the spot.

The short rib dishes were both very tasty. And the portions were also pretty decent. The chicken wings were crispy but a little bland. Dipping sauce was ok, chili sauce definitely better than buffalo. The calamari was also very good. Will definitely come back if I am in the area.

Always an incredible experience at Reunion but especially love their Laguna location. Bf got the wedge salad and cup of French onion soup which he really enjoyed and I got the amazingggg juicy patty melt on a brioche bun (so a burger? Haha) with the outstanding and absolutely sinful warm potato salad. That thing is addicting!!! We also shared the loaded deviled eggs to start and agreed it was delicious. The portions are so generous and fit the price and the quality of the food is unmatched. We also loved the attentive service and gorgeous Saturday evening ambiance for a cozy dinner. Their negroni is also fantastic! We will be in again soon.

Went for brunch on a Saturday with friends. The food is delicious, the French toast was a 10/10! Juan was our sever, he was great! Very attentive. Will definitely visit again.

Citrus salmon salad without onions & peppers was delicious. Generous on the salmon.

Yummy food, great drinks, amazing service & large portions. We will be back. My husband's vanilla old fashioned was wonderful. My wine pour was very generous. The chicken pot pie was large & my husband loved it. I had the salmon citrus salad, the salmon was cooked perfectly & citrus dressing was light with great flavor. Kevin was an excellent server. Checked in, was present & helpful.

Very quaint space with a nice combination modern style and beach nostalgia. The food was outstanding. Salads were delicious, flatiron steak prepared perfectly, and meatloaf was ridiculous. The had the Thursday night football game on for us to enjoy conversation and keep track of the score. Jaden provided superb service and dinner recommendations. Loved they had mocktail options.

i went here for valentine's day! i've been to this one and the one in anaheim, the one here in laguna has a more fancy aesthetic. feels a little more boujee haha, food was great and service was fast. reservation was easy to make even if it was last minute. their butter cake is to DIE for

Overall: stopped by here on a whim but was really impressed with the quality of food Food: 5/5 +RECOMMEND: skirt steak was cooked a perfect medium rare paired with a nice sauce +Blue cheese on the mashed potatoes offered a nice amount of tang +Asparagus was cooked just enough +They toned down the spiciness of the Bloody Mary at my request. The stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeño was yummy Service: 5/5 Despite us being there for a late lunch, the staff were really attentive to our orders and requests. Ambiance: 4/5 Classic restaurant-close-to-the-water vibes with dashes of surfer inspirations. Clean and cool. Since it wasn't too crowded, not too noisy.

    Juan is always very attentive

Sal, the man in charge at the time-- apologized to my party and was more than willing to make sure we don't leave his restaurant hungry. He was willing to create a second chance for us to change our opinion of their restaurant. And our opinions changed in a snap! He lead us to be seated in sight for the beautiful laguna beach. Their hospitality & attentiveness the second time was more than enough to compensate our initial experience. The food that was served to us was worth the wait for every bite! I'd like to thank Sal for making it out of his way to ensure that anyone that comes into his restaurant leaves satisfied! Also a big thank you to Mariah, as she made my party feel welcomed. No apologies were expected by my party and I, but we're grateful to have this experience tonight.

Oh man. Where to even begin. I'd say let's just start from the service, then the food, then we can…read moretalk ambience. Arriving is difficult and the only way in is from the street (so walking) good luck finding any signage or smidge of help to lead you into the restaurant to even start your journey, and this wwaaasss a journey. Found our way inside and ordered drinks for our table of TEN which is conveniently the biggest table in the whole establishment (remember this for later) once we sat half the table had drink orders taken and the other half waited about 10-15 minutes after sitting to get just their drinks ordered. Half of the party figured water was fine based on the wait of a not busy restaurant..Finally had our drink orders taken by the bartender and things started looking up, everyone makes mistakes, or so we thought. Then the fun part, the food. We're patient people but when you wait for 32 minutes (and see other tables sat after you order their drinks, get them and then order their food) before you finally have to get up to ask another server to serve you because not only have we not been checked in on, but our drinks needed to be refilled before ever ordering. A server graciously takes everyone's orders, and given the timeline we had to wait for ANYTHING up to this point 80% of our party decided to leave and go watch the sunset while the waiting staff avoided us like the plague and started making the food. *STILL* not checked in on again by the new server or the one we supposedly had previously. But boy did yall NOTICE when the whole table got up and went on a WALK to the beach yes our whole giant table had time to enjoy the sunset, while the food was being made. Food comes out and it's JUST alright/mid at best, definitely not worth the price or to jump up and down over. And lastly ambience, the giant table is conveniently located in the middle of the room between the recently divorced bar Karens who haven't been cut off yet and every other party who has to be (or was treated) like regulars because we watched the staff wait on every other party as you'd expect ANY restaurant let alone one of this "caliber" and I use that word lightly. Best part was we watched the manager/owner who LOOKED the part but couldn't be farther from acting it. Go up to EVERY table and shake hands or greet the tables, except the giant table in the middle of your restaurant. Then he has the AUDACITY after we paid and STILL tipped well to ask us to MAYBE CONSIDER coming back or if we needed parking validation because NNOOWW our money is as good as everyone else's apparently. So my advice to you if you made it to this point is: 1. Don't look like you came from the beach (in a beach town) whether thats your clothes, hair, etc 2. Don't have tattoos or anything that they'll judge you for, like your skin or hair color 3. Don't bother coming to this restaurant period and spend your money ANYWHERE else, there's a Jack in the Box across the street that probably has better services and food. In a world where every restaurant sells the same steak, burgers, or fish items it solely comes down to your SERVICE and how you treat people and Sapphire failed miserably tonight. We will not be going back, and anyone who asks about this restaurant or our experience in a town we do a lot of business in will know our opinions. Word of mouth moves faster than your service on a slow day. Cheers

The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. She took the time to chat with us, shared some of her favorite menu recommendations, and when she noticed us unsuccessfully trying to take a selfie overlooking the water, she kindly offered to take a photo for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout dinner, Jesse was assisting our table, and he was fantastic. Our main server, Carson, was equally amazing. He was welcoming from the moment we sat down, incredibly attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. His recommendations were spot on, he checked in on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever rushing us. The food was excellent. We were sat quickly and the staff was super kind and made sure we were taken care of. I'd go back for happy hour, but not sure I'd order a meal

I was trying to decide between the chicken or the Bistro plate and our server Derrick said his fav was the chicken, I'm usually a creature of habit, but I'm so glad I went with his recommendation. The presentation was impressive! The chicken was tender and moist and the gravy was spectacular, so much so, that I asked for extra so that I could dip and have it with every bite. The whipped mashed potatoes just added more deliciousness and the roasted corn on the corn on a skewer gave it the final touch of tastyness. I was with three other friends and they said their meals were fantastic too. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Enjoy!!

PARKING We parked across the street at the hotel, tipped the valet and walked across the busy road. There's limited street parking FOOD -we got the warm butter cake as an appetizer -Their veggie burger was homemade (not of that fake stuff) and my husband got the fried chicken -we shared the bacon deviled eggs (with the bacon on the side) -I got their yuzu berry mocktail and it was delicious SERVICE it was a little on the slower side but we're also fast diners. We sat on the covered patio so the breeze felt nice. Highly recommend this place!

This is an absolute must-visit whether you're on vacation or a dedicated tiki bar enthusiast. The…read morebar is spotless, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our bartenders Liam and Omar were fantastic. They were knowledgeable, friendly, personable, and never missed a beat. For drinks, my boyfriend ordered the Zombie and the Guanko Grog, while I enjoyed the Chi Chi Royale and the Nui Nui. Every cocktail was perfectly balanced, beautifully crafted, and deceptively strong. Royal absolutely nailed it. We started with the Spam Musubi, which was delicious. It was so flavorful that it didn't need any extra soy sauce, and we appreciated that it was cut in half for sharing. Later, we ordered the Poke Bowl. It's a bit more salad-forward than a traditional poke bowl, with plenty of fresh greens, but the flavors were spot on and the tuna was incredibly fresh. We also tried the Loco Moco, and I can honestly say it may have had the best gravy we've ever had. It was rich, flavorful, and completely unforgettable. Between the outstanding cocktails, delicious food, and excellent service, this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. We can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu!

I had one of the most unusual and disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had here on July…read more3. I arrived ahead of my friends for a late lunch/early dinner and walked up to the host stand to ask if there was a table available. I was immediately told the restaurant was completely booked. I texted my friends to see if they had made reservations, and thankfully they had. When we checked in together, we clearly told the staff that we had dogs with us and assumed we'd be seated on the patio. Instead, we were seated inside. We thought it was odd, but trusted there was a reason for it. What made the experience so confusing was that we spent about an hour and a half there, and the restaurant remained almost completely empty the entire time. The patio was also essentially empty. The only other party seated near us was upset that there were dogs inside and made it very obvious. To be clear, we never asked to sit indoors....we expected and preferred the patio. As we were leaving, I overheard the host ask another employee, "Do you think that dog's actually a service dog?" That caught me completely off guard because we never claimed our dogs were service animals. It felt like an unnecessary assumption. Looking back, the entire experience left me with more questions than answers. Why tell someone the restaurant is completely booked when both the dining room and patio stayed largely empty? Why seat guests with dogs inside when the patio was available? I don't make accusations lightly, but as a person of color, I couldn't help but wonder whether I was being treated differently. I can't say for certain that was the case, but it's how the experience made me feel, and it's not something I've ever felt comfortable writing in a review before. To make matters worse, the food didn't make up for the experience. It was mediocre at best, especially considering the prices. For what they charge, I expected much better quality and flavor. Instead, I left feeling like I had overpaid for an underwhelming meal. Overall, I walked away feeling confused, unwelcome, and disappointed. Between the strange seating situation, the comments from the staff, the overpriced food, and the overall experience, I don't see myself returning.

We had just checked in across the street at Le Petit Pali & wanted to have a late, light lunch prior to our early dinner at Selanne Steak. Our friends had a couple of suites that they had just checked into at The Montage so we wanted to be nearby to hang out. We were seated on one of the balcony dining areas and it was a beautiful, sunny with a cool wind Laguna day. The lady & I opted to split at porchetta sandwich ($32) which comes with pickled red peppers, arugula, caramelized cippolini onion on a ciabatta bun. It was exactly what I needed. It came with perfectly cooked fries. The porchetta itself was tasty and hit the spot... What stood out most to us was the way Mathieu and the staff split our sandwich. They plated each half of the porchetta sandwich with equal portion fries on separate plates. Their foresight to do this was not lost on us. Another couple we were with, also shared their sandwich and they did the same for them. We really appreciate them going above and beyond. Also ordered at our table was grilled tiger prawns ($32) and greek yogurt parfait ($20) with seasonal berries, house-made granola & wildflower honey... Everyone at our table enjoyed our orders. The view, the weather and the service was great. Thanks Mathieu... We'll be back with bigger appetites.

As for the meal, we loved ordering a variety of small plates to share. The fresh sourdough bread felt like it was baked just for us. The Ahi Tuna Tartare was sensational, while the Whipped Ricotta was a total showstopper. The Seasonal Oysters paired with the chilled prawns were exceptionally clean and sweet. Finally, the tropical sweetness of the mango ice cream proved to be a brilliant pairing to cut right through the rich, dark chocolate of the hot soufflé. The Loft isn't a cheap date, but between the spectacular views, stellar plates, and a remarkably attentive team, all your senses will be satisfied!
