This restaurant is definitely a place in which I'd return to! Although this place had an error upon our initial visit, that error occurred due to how busy it was. Sal, the man in charge at the time-- apologized to my party and was more than willing to make sure we don't leave his restaurant hungry. He was willing to create a second chance for us to change our opinion of their restaurant. And our opinions changed in a snap! He lead us to be seated in sight for the beautiful laguna beach. Their hospitality & attentiveness the second time was more than enough to compensate our initial experience. The food that was served to us was worth the wait for every bite! I'd like to thank Sal for making it out of his way to ensure that anyone that comes into his restaurant leaves satisfied! Also a big thank you to Mariah, as she made my party feel welcomed. Another big shout out to the kind lady bussing tables and serving waters for her kindness and speed! No apologies were expected by my party and I, but we're grateful to have this experience tonight.

The location is just a block from the beach with a view. The patio is spacious with lots of people bringing their dogs. The menu is diverse and I wanted vegan, so I got a delicious quinoa veggie bowl with portobello mushrooms and lots of fresh veggies. The server was friendly and kept the water full. It was a late lunch hour, so it wasn't crowded, but I enjoyed it that way. If you're in the area, it's a great option. I would definitely go again.

We have driven by Sapphire a million times but haven't tried it until today! Super quaint, Laguna Beach along with the "greeter"! We were warmly welcomed and quick personal service from Marvin. We had a Bloody Mary and a glass of Chardonnay. We ordered Osters and they were great! Then we shared a salmon Benedict with a medley of vegetables - really good!

I've been wanting to try this place so we decided to give this one pace a try during OCRW! We made reservations and got a seat on their generous size patio! The water guys were great! We never had an empty glass of water during our meal! That's impressive, haha. We both got the OCRW meal. We got 1 of each appetizer- gem salad & tomato bisque. It took a little bit for the food to come out when it wasn't that crowded but we enjoyed the view. Both were good. Then we waited a bit for our food but we got the lamb shanks which was huge!! The server said it was about 12oz! My friend said it was good! I got the seabass with veggies which I really enjoyed! Light fish and loved the veggies! We both got the crème brûlée which was a good way to end the deal! Everything was delicious! You also get an amazing view of the sunset which we didn't even plan. Definitely worth a try!! SYOY!

Sapphire is such an amazing restaurant. Its located just a block from the beach so the dining experience comes with a beautiful view. The patio area is very spacious so there is plenty of room for people to enjoy the ocean breeze. I dined here on a Friday evening and it was pretty busy. Despite how lively it was, our server was extremely attentive to all of our needs. The manager, Sal, was extremely friendly and I noticed him engaging with tables throughout the night. The food was all so delicious. For appetizers we ordered the White Mexican Shrimp & Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche, the Rosemary Focaccia Bread, and a cup of their Seafood Chowder. The Ceviche was fresh and packed with flavor. The Focaccia was so fluffy and was served with a delicious whipped honey butter. For my entree I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle. The chunk of short rib was massive and the creme fraise really tied all the elements of the dish together. My friends ordered the Wild Caught Chilean Sea Bass and American Wagyu Beef Burger. Both were yummy. Overall the food, service, and ambiance were top notch. Will definitely be back.

Despite the rainy Christmas Eve weather we had a great time. Unfortunately our first impression was not good as we were seated at a 2 table and when I asked the hostess to move us, she said no. I wasn't going to sit in a small table so I asked our server if we could get relocated, and they did. Throughout the night we kept our eyes on other couples who were not seated in the tiny table which irked me. Fabio was our server and he was great. Kudos to him for being the saving grace for the bad start. The food was delicious and we both had the soup of the : clam chowder. I'll gladly say that my cioppino was worth the effort and price. Stephen had the surf n turf and it looked amazing too. Next time I'll add to put me at a 4 top table in my reservation. Dinner with starter and drinks came to $195 before tip.

It starts with location- this smaller restaurant is located right on PCH in Laguna. It has both indoor or outdoor patio seating. Outdoor you have a view of the ocean. The menu is varied and when we were there, they had some daily chef specials. The service is top notch. Staff friendly and personable. Professional and skilled in being attentive, knowledgeable but not pushy. We opted for several of the chef specials including a French onion soup with apples, bacon and blue cheese. Potato and short rib croquettes. And an entree of chorizo and lobster pasta. The food was amazing! The spice level perfect to be noticed but not overwhelming. This is a very charming, comfortable and delicious restaurant. The only negative there, the parking. You will need to find metered street parking- but it is worth it!!

Came here on a Sunday right after the morning crowd. Great find. A little pricey but the food was very good. Steak really hit the spot for me. Fiancée got the chicken schnitzel she really liked hers as well. The nutella waffles offered a nice sweet change of pace. All in all great restaurant with an interesting view of PCH

One word to describe Sapphire? Heavenly. You only need to order one thing from the menu to be transported into a food-gasm. My girlfriend and I reserved online and were seated early and promptly. We decided to get the truffle macaroni and cheese, which was creamy, delightful, and everything you want in an iconic cheesy dish--crunchy, oven-baked, with dazzling presentation. For our other two dishes, we chose the Chicken Schnitzel and the Pork Ragu Pasta, which both complemented the macaroni well. Portions are big and plentiful--shareable and affordable--yet the experience still feels like you're treating yourself to a luxurious, high-end dinner. If you're looking for a delicious brunch or dinner after a long day at Laguna Beach, this place will not disappoint. Wonderful service, great environment, and a beautiful view of the beach. Sapphire is not just a small diamond in the rough, it is a polished and pristine gem of a restaurant that demands strong compliment.

This restaurant is nestled in a small shopping complex, and while it may look homey, don't be fooled - the food is superb. It was a bit hard to get our server's attention sometimes, but once obtained, service was great. My dad is a notoriously picky eater but enjoyed each dish (we got the salmon, veggie pasta and burger). I could continue to wax on about the food quality, but will abstain and just say - please have dinner at sapphire.

Cute place with indoor and outdoor seating, only a block away from the ocean. Came here for brunch with my parents and we all enjoyed our drinks and food. Good to note that they have free parking with validation for a few hours. Great place to people watch, as it's close to the beach. Our server Daniella also added to the great experience we had. She was friendly, attentive and overall a great server. Don't forget to leave room for dessert, as their cream brûlée is delicious.

I ordered a Paloma and my newly fiancé ordered a spicy watermelon margarita. The drinks were pretty good. I preferred his over mine. The Paloma had a blood orange taste that was interesting. The margarita didn't have much of a spice still really good. I really enjoyed the complimentary chips and the trio salsa black bean dip. The salsa could have had a little more spice. Entrees: we ordered the enchiladas divorciadas and the filet taquitos, everything was really delicious. I especially loved the green sauce on the cheese enchilada and the mole was perfect. The taquitos were just as good with a great amount of guacamole. The portions were a decent size. Overall it was a great experience and price point. Ambiance plays a big role (in my opinion) to a restaurant and not getting to be seated inside or at least on a patio docked some points off for me. For a special occasion dinner, I don't want to be sitting in a parking lot tent. For the price point, I didn't really feel the restaurant quality (plating, service, ambiance) really reaches those expectations. I can tell their food is great, I think I wish I chose something different when ordering. I couldn't tell you exactly what we ordered since I think they launched a new menu just this week but I'll describe it the best I can. Espresso Martini -5/5 Great espresso martini! No notes. Burrata with pesto - 4/5 Light and refreshing appetizer. This wasn't my first choice for appetizer but my partner loves burrata so we got it. It would be really hard to mess this up so I have no notes. $20+ for one tomato was pretty shocking, though. Tagliolini with shrimp and mushrooms - 2/5 To be fair, I've never had tagliolini before so I don't have a reference point of how it should be and maybe it's just not my style. The pasta was thin and flat and very very soft. There was absolutely no bite to it whatsoever and felt like it might be over cooked (again, I'm not expert so maybe this is how it should be). Because of the texture and size it kind of was just one big soft clump on the plate. The shrimp and mushrooms were nice and I enjoyed the sauce but I really didn't like the pasta on this one. And I know plating have any affect of the food but this one seemed really sloppily thrown together and I was pretty sad when it was put on the table. Definitely wasn't pretty or exciting to look at. Pappardelle made w/ beets in quail ragu - 4/5 We really enjoyed this pasta! The pasta itself had a subtle sweetness to it from the beets which made it much more interesting than your typical pasta dough. It had a nice chew, which is what I was really missing in the other dish. The quail ragu was yummy, although we did find a bone but it was large enough to easily pick out and put to the side. Panna Cotta - 4.5/5 Thick and rich vanilla panna cotta with a tart berry compote. Very delicious!

I can see why happy hour is busy and why they have a pretty big opening of hours for it, , but it shaves 1-2 dollars off if anything. Everything was like 19 an item. The menu sounds decent but the food didn't live up to the price tag. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps, Pei Wei is better or PF Changs, the shrimp tempura roll, the lobster roll, and the drunken noodles. My husband barely ate. Each dish he said was alright but wasn't worth eating I guess. Again I think it was fine but for the price wasn't worth the value in my opinion. When we entered the entire bottom floor was empty. Waited a bit and a gentlemen showed up and lead us to the roof top. Beautiful little roof top and place overall. Really clean and chic looking! We waited to be seated for, quite a while. That was the thing. To be seated and have someone take our order, it was a very long amount of time. Awkward standing there while others on the rooftop were sitting, talking and eating. I kept making accidental eye contact to the patrons. When we were seated, it took even longer for someone to come by and get our orders. One of my party members were so frustrated, he stated that we should leave in 4 minutes if no one shows up. Luckily for us, someone did. The girl that served us was a sweetheart. Once she was around she got the ball rolling, made sure that our waters were filled. Let us know when certain dishes were already gone. She was great! No complaints. We got dumplings, bolognese, shrimp scampi and I believe the fried chicken dish. The food was good. I got three large dumplings, and paired with the sour cream. Devine. The bolognese pasta was also wonderfully al dente. Everyone liked their food. You know it's good when everyone doesn't speak. I am conflicted. The servers are nice, the food is really good, but the wait times are atrociously long. It could be because we were one of the last people around closing time, it could be they were understaffed. But it was odd to have a majority of the work staff mostly ignore us.
