We had a reservation and arrived before the appointed time. We still had to wait another 35 - 40 mins. We waited seated at the bar and placed a drink order for two drinks. The bartender served us the wrong drinks which we had to correct. Once seated the service was so slow. We waited for another 30 mins to take our order. Food came out fairly quickly after. The server did not return during the meal to check on waters, drink refills, etc. After another hour we flagged down the server so we could finally pay and leave. For a place that charges an extensive amount for brunch/lunch, the overall service, food, drinks was just not it. The parking lot is tiny and street parking is limited like beach parking. There is a valet. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and the beach. That is what the big draw to this restaurant is. I would not recommend this place.

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Las Brisas. This was a very special celebration, and the staff really went above and beyond to make the evening magical. Many thanks to Ricardo--- he was so patient and sweet with our large party, and even brought out a beautiful raspberry cheesecake slice to celebrate our new graduate! Las Brisas is iconic for its view of the ocean, and the sunset over the sparkling waves was spectacular. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious---- even though it was a full house, we received our orders very quickly. I was incredibly impressed at how smooth the operation was behind-the-scenes. This is a special-occassion restaurant. People come here expecting a truly special evening to celebrate life milestones, and Las Brisas exceeds those high expectations. The drinks: we ordered cadillac margaritas (one of which was mine----delicious!) pineapple piscos (one was nonalcoholic, to the delight of our younger guest), and a hot tea. The tea wasn't on the menu, but Ricardo very kindly brought out the teas from the morning brunch. Small touches like this really go a long way. Ricardo very graciously accommodated the small requests of a younger guest who cannot drink alcohol and a guest who likes to sip on English Breakfast over dinner, and it truly went a long way. The guacamole and chips were great. The order also comes with a red sauce and a salsa verde. All three dips were delicious, but I particularly liked the sour kick of the salsa verde with the fresh, hot chips. Our entrees were all excellent. I ordered the Seafood Cóctel, and it was a lovely interpretation of a classic shrimp cocktail and ceviche. Topped with beautiful, creamy avocado and two luscious shrimp tails, the dish was composed of chopped shrimp, crab, and avocado in a delightfully citrusy tomato-based sauce. It was plated with fresh tostaditas, but I loved the fresh seafood so much that I ate it with a spoon! Dessert was fantastic. We ordered two flans to share, but Ricardo brought out a beautiful berry cheesecake on the house to celebrate our graduate's special day. The dessert was delicious, but what we will remember most from our experience at Las Brisas was the service. Thank you so much, Las Brisas and Ricardo!

3.5 stars Las Brisas is a Mexican seafood restaurant located by the Pacific Ocean by Laguna Beach and Heisler Park. It's located in a really convenient area near downtown Laguna Beach making it a popular spot. They have a private parking lot and also metered parking in the area. They have different seating options like oceanfront indoor dining room, outdoor patio, booth seating, and bar seating. The calamari ($24) was good and I liked the tartar sauce. The seared tuna tostada ($25) was slightly spicy but it was just one piece which was personally not worth the price. The steak and eggs ($47) had nice charred flavors and I liked the two accompanying salsas. The ribeye steak & lobster enchiladas ($39) were decent and I preferred the red sauce. For drinks I got the pineapple pisco ($17) which was refreshing and a bit spirit forward. The food at the brunch was just okay, but I've heard better things about their weekday lunch so I might have to come back for that. At our table we had nice views of the water and there was a lot of bright natural light. It's really the highlight of the restaurant and the experience, and it's a good spot to both people watch and watch the sunset too.

Service, food presentation, and views were excellent. Only giving lower stars because the food was just mediocre for the price and caliber of the restaurant. Valet is $15, which is pretty fair for 3 hours of parking near the beach.

Came here for my graduation celebration and left pretty disappointed! The food here was sub-par and maybe would have been ok but the service wasn't that great either. Our server wasn't the friendliest nor the most attentive to our table Ordered the chilaquiles and this was one of the least flavorful versions of it I've had- there was no protein and not even any beans! It was pretty much isolated nachos with some sauce and avocado. The sauce was good but gets pretty underwhelming after you realize you're only eating nachos. The calamari was good but I wouldn't recommend the pozole verde- it was pretty much just soup The best item from our table was probably the squash quesadilla, but again, no protein inside. If you get that, I'd recommend adding something!

Such a beautiful day in Laguna!!! What could be better than lunch on the beach at Las Brisas? Hubby bought me a $200 gift card for Christmas and this was our first opportunity to get away and use it. First drinks were selected. Hubby got a beer and I talked the server into a pomegranate martini. Axel was our server. He was great!! He made sure the martini came out perfectly. Just a dash of pomegranate, not too sweet. Delicious!!! We ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer and we were pleasantly surprised that it also came with a side of two salsas. I ordered chicken flautas and Hubby decided upon the local market blackened fish sandwich. We both really enjoyed our food. Perfect atmosphere, perfect view and weather and a nice and very attentive server Axel!!! Awesome way to spend a summer afternoon!!!

Every aspect of our experience was 5-stars! Gorgeous, unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. Delightful, personable service. Melt in your mouth food. Frank was efficient and helpful, and also incredibly personable and warm. He made great recommendations, ensured our coffee cups were full, and made our breakfast so enjoyable. The steak that comes with the steak & eggs was very tender and expertly prepared. The fried fingerling potatoes were amazingly good. Because we were little chatterboxes, Frank learned it was my daughter's birthday and brought out a beautiful slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce!

Whoever is part of the hiring staff must definitely be on something because who hired these people!!! TLDR: Amazing beach view, kind server doing his best, but overall disorganized service, long waits, and mediocre food. Great place for pictures -- maybe eat beforehand. First off, I genuinely felt bad for our server because he seemed overwhelmed and was taking the heat for issues that clearly went beyond one person. He stayed patient, respectful, and kind the entire time, which we appreciated. The manager, however, seemed more focused on shifting blame to the server and kitchen staff rather than acknowledging the obvious lack of communication and organization overall. When she went down to "check on us" it didn't seem like she wanted to speak to us and was kind of just walking around "waiting" to be flagged down. There were other several angry tables as well. To their credit, they did offer complimentary dessert and reduced our bill by about 50%, which we appreciated. Ambiance: Honestly, the best part of the experience and probably the only reason why they get 2 stars (and some for our kind server). Beautiful beach view and plenty of spots nearby to walk around and take cute pictures while waiting for your food... and waiting... and waiting. Service: We sat down and weren't offered water for quite a while. Our server was difficult to find throughout dinner, and we had to flag someone down multiple times just to place orders, get water, utensils, etc. I'm assuming he was stretched thin with too many tables. Some of us had no utensils or napkins and ended up improvising with appetizer forks and spoons from the oysters. One person finally received a fork after everyone else had already finished eating. Asking bussers for help was unfortunately pointless because they rarely came back. We were also told the general manager would come speak with us after our concerns were brought up, but that never happened. Food: Everything took an extremely long time to arrive, including drinks -- we actually canceled some because they took so long. Most dishes came out lukewarm or cold. The seafood risotto was bland, the "rare" ribeye came out medium-well and overly salty, and there were several order mix-ups. At one point, we received two orders of guac and salsa when we only ordered one. When we mentioned it, the busser casually said "it's okay" and left them on the table anyway. Thankfully our server later clarified we wouldn't be charged for the extra order.

After visiting Laguna Beach for over 33 years, I finally decided to dine at Las Brisas--and it exceeded every expectation I had. I made a 2:00 PM reservation on a Wednesday and was seated immediately at a table with a breathtaking ocean view. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, but what truly stood out was the overall dining experience. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly genuine. Instead of steering us toward the most expensive items on the menu, he offered thoughtful recommendations based on quality and flavor--which I really appreciated. We ordered the lobster enchiladas and the shrimp tampiqueños, and both dishes were exceptional. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, but the highlight was easily the white wine garlic sauce on the tampiqueños--it was absolutely outstanding. To finish, we had the cheesecake, which was the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. Between the stunning views, excellent service, and truly memorable food, Las Brisas has earned a new regular customer. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Good coastal views, service, and food! We were able to grab a reservation with short notice on a Friday night. It was my first time here and I loved the seafood risotto. However I think it is overpriced

It's an expensive place with a good view of the ocean. But that's where it ends. Tomato soup was good, but it came out warm at best. When I asked for pepper... the server said,"there's enough pepper on it." Since when does a waiter say something like that? Just bring the pepper for my cold food. Veracruz fish came out cold and bland with no flavor. Some type of flavorless scallop potatoes came out cold. The service was pretty much MIA. Our drinks sat empty most of the time we were there. Overall, won't return

Another las Brisa's success! Never fails Had lunch after my wedding here Had my baby shower here Most of my dates with my husband Specials of the day were so good , also tried the wahoo crudo which I haven't had before, the best . My go to is usually the lobster and steak enchiladas but the halibut is really good Also for my soup fans hear me out , the tortilla soup is actually really good and a decent portion, it's not super crazy but the flavor is there and Ive literally came before just to order the soup. Try it! I will add a note to the owners though, please Please please spend more time training your front staff. Some of the girls looked so confused , as someone who worked in restaurants as well i understand, but when guests are coming to a place to get 90$ steak and 75$ wine, they don't want to be greeted by people who don't know what's happening on their iPad or don't even know table numbers ! I love this place a lot and don't want to see hosts become an issue

Came here over ten years ago, and honestly--nothing has changed. The food feels dated, no real surprises. The view, though, is still doing all the work. Let's be real: you don't come here for the food.

Ask the Community - Las Brisas

Do they offer gluten free and dairy free options?

Yes

Do they have high chairs for babies/toddlers?

Yes they do.

What arrangements are there for handicap/disabled parking?

Valet but you need to get there early for it because it will fill up. Or you can look for street public parking.

What is available for kids at the weekend brunch? There's only one "weekend brunch" menu listed on the website and it's for a four course prix fixe menu. Nothing listed for kids.

Check out the website. The info you need is there.

Do you guys serve brunch on Friday's?

No, only Sat and Sun.

Are the rice & beans vegan? Also the sorbet trio?

You can cook beans with lard, which would make it not vegan.

Is there a corkage fee?

$25 per standard size bottle and maximum of two

Is it possible to have drinks and appetizers on the patio still? We were told we had to have a dinner reservation in order to sit on the patio. Seemed very strange.

You can if they are not too busy- you can also make a reservation and request to be seated on the patio.

I have a reservation tomorrow 6/29 at 5 pm for a party of 8 under Agnes Sugino on OpenTable. I called earlier but there's no one answering the phone. I'm requesting a table outside for our party of 8 if that's possible?

Possible but I wouldn't count on it. I reserved a table with a view 2 weeks beforehand and got the worse view ever and service was terrible! Oh, and their front desk was bad too. I called to ask about valet and they were no help at all. Good luck… Read more

How is the parking there?

Valet parking is the way to go. It's tuff to find parking unless you go early.

Which food options are available on the kid menu?

Fish and chips, chicken tenders

Will they utilize heat lamps during lunch if it is cold and customer requests?

Do they have mothers day brunch?

Yes, check out website

Where's the best table? May I reserve this table?

The best table -- without a doubt -- is located inside the restaurant just to the left of the hostess stand. It's nicely way from the very busy kitchen door. The lighting at this table is excellent too. When you call, make sure you request the best… Read more

Thinking of walking on the beach below or browsing nearby shops after brunch. How long can you park there if you valet? Hoping to not have to move the car after brunch.

Parking is a 2 hour limit

Does Las brisas offer gluten free/celiac friendly items on the menu?

Yes they do!

Is there a dress code?

No. Come as you are dresses.

Yelp says you are dog friendly. Can I bring my well behaved , leashed senior pug with me? Thank you, Howard!

Would 100% come back. That said, I'd admit, a certain DTLA Michelin restaurant has set my expectations of south of border seafood cuisine a bit too high (starts with H) so I'll try to be reasonable. Also the items picked were surprisingly huge and i was too full to finish my meal. 9/10 The chips tasted delicious, bean dip was something new and delicious, salsa was fresh and bold, and the roasted pepper salsa was surprisingly not too spicy, really good. 8/10 trio de cheviche. Good assortment and size of the dish. Shrimp was ok, I felt it was missing something, octopus was good, my personal favorite was the marinaded tuna. 8/10 seafood chile relleno, not a bad assortment, sides were good, large portions of food. 10/10 Coco rita, this margarita is definitely something different! And pairs with everything amazingly, I love it, and this is coming from someone who normally hates coconut. 9/10 they brought out this chocolate cake I dont see on the menu but they will if it's your birthday, but in my case to celebrate my new engagement. Super moist. The place is really loud ambient wise when busy which was around 8pm which is normal of any popular place but after near closing around 9:30 is pretty quiet and casual on a Sunday. Total bill after a 21% tip ran me total $165 and I had leftovers. Free chips, 1 large giant appetizer, and 1 large entree could potentially feed 3 people if you don't eat a lot. I ordered chips and guac as well and the staff forgot to include it in my order so I had to go up to the counter another time which was quite a hassle given it's a very busy restaurant with the line out the door the entire time I was there. The salsa selection is rather nice especially when most restaurants are trying to cut down on salsa options + use the lower quality ingredients. You can tell the ingredients in the salsas were high + they even have a few creamy options which is hard to see at most Mexican restaurants these days. I do think the guac was a little limey but it wasn't bad when you added it to the tacos. If you go I would recommend you go with zero expectations of eating inside as there are about 5-6 tables + waiting a long time for your food. The beach is 10 steps away so you can always take your food to the beach too!

Despite how busy they were, the service was excellent. Drinks and appetizers arrived within minutes of ordering, and the staff did a great job keeping up with our large group. The unlimited chips and salsa were dangerously good. I always tell myself I'll stop after a few chips, but somehow I never do--and this salsa was definitely the reason why! For my entrée, I ordered the three seafood enchiladas. I appreciated that the seafood flavors were bold and fresh without tasting fishy. The green sauce complemented the dish perfectly and elevated the flavors even more. I also sampled a combination plate, which was good overall, although I felt the chile relleno had a little too much cheese, making it difficult to taste the chile itself. For dessert, we couldn't decide on just one, so we ordered the chocolate cake, tres leches cake, and fried ice cream. My ranking: fried ice cream first, tres leches second, and chocolate cake third. The chocolate cake was good but similar to what you'd find at many other restaurants. The tres leches was delicious--moist without being overly milky or sweet, and the almonds added a nice texture and flavor. The fried ice cream was the standout for me. The crunchy cereal coating added great texture, and because it wasn't overly sweet, it balanced perfectly with the ice cream. Overall, this is a place I'd definitely recommend for both the food and service. Just remember: reservations, reservations, reservations!.

However, the servers forgot my eggs which was annoying, but they brought it out later with an additional egg. -Crispy Fried Calamari: Tasty and I liked the sauce. Calamari wasn't the greatest quality itself though. Service was pretty slow and the servers seemed to forget many details when taking orders which caused service delays wasn't optimal. The interior was decent and not dirty. For parking, there's a good amount located at and around the Pavilions parking lot. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back here again. It just seemed like a standard chain restaurant. It is located walking distance from the beach though.
