History, humor, and heart--this spot has it all. My sister and I just wrapped up an August trip to Laguna Beach, and this historic venue was a frequent stop for us. Unfortunately, we missed out on their famous Orange Muffins this trip, but it brought back a hilarious memory from 2024. That year, we scored the very last Orange Muffin of the day. We walked down to Turtle Cove, found a stunning view, and headed down the long steps to the beach. While we were admiring the scenery, a flock of seagulls completely devoured the muffin right out of our beach tote! I love the 80s band A Flock of Seagulls, but the real deal? Not so much... Inspiring my poem, "Gulls Just Wanna Have Fun"! Muffin mishaps aside, our visit this August was lovely. The food was great, and the owner is so genuinely welcoming. We can't wait to return on our next trip to finally get our hands on an Orange Muffin--and we won't be sharing this time! read more

I went in for a quick breakfast, got a sugar-free caramel latte and a bagel with cream cheese. I think the bagel was stale. It was so difficult to chew after it was toasted. The latte was good and it was reasonably priced. Seating is limited and it was pretty crowded inside. I was forced to take my bagel to go. read more

Ordering: Waiting about 25 minutes to order wasn't the issue. The problem was that there was no designated place to wait, so people ordering were crowded into the dining area. Service: This was the biggest disappointment. A younger waitress reached across my family to set my drink on the table. I reached to grab it to make it easier for her, but she refused to let me take it and continued reaching over everyone while saying in a rude tone, "I can put it on the table." Maybe she was trying to avoid spilling it, but it was a to-go cup with a lid. It wasn't what she said it was the way she said it. At first I wondered if I was the only one who noticed, but after she walked away, everyone at our table looked at each other like, "Yikes ." Food: The food was average. Nothing stood out as especially memorable. Environment: The restaurant was very crowded, and the back dining area mainly looks out toward the taco shop next door. This is our only family trip each year to attend the Pageant, so I was hoping for a better experience. I understand this is a long-established family business, but customer service matters. Came for a staycation to Laguna with the family and decided to try this little spot. Had high hopes for it, but was a let down. The place is Very small , limited seating indoors and a few spots out back. It wasn't too busy the Friday midday we came in , but after we ordered, the food took forever to come out. Once we finally did get our food everything was lackluster.! Eggs were supper runny, not cooked well. French toast was below average, breakfast sandwich was also flavorless. Side of potatoes didn't taste fully cooked ,They have fresh squeeze orange juice that didn't move the needle . Staff was friendly enough, but seemed flustered and low on staff. One of our favorite spots! We've been here multiple times and it's consistently such a great experience every time we visit. We stopped by recently and ordered at the window since we had our pup with us. We kept it simple with hot coffee with vanilla syrup (they don't have flavored creamers) and their fresh green + carrot juice, which is actually made in-house. The juice was SO good, definitely a must-try! Every time we've visited, the food has been delicious, the service is always so friendly, and the overall experience is just lovely. Classic costal Southern California , a small beach bungalow with pastries , fresh juices and coffee . I had the breakfast burrito and my friend had the avocado sandwich. We sat looking out on PCH watching the city wake up and enjoying the early morning ocean air. They open at 530 which is early for most places. Parking is limited. They have a walk up window. Prices are reasonable. Staff are friendly. Despite being in the tourist area it caters to locals and visitors. read more

Cute little place! I had high hopes for the pastries, croissants, and muffins in the window. But, a few weeks ago I got the muffin: nice size but dry and flavorless. I thought I would try again and got a butter croissant. Ugh, dry as dust, no layers, no flavor. A croissant should be shatteringly flaky and buttery. I came right after a nice long hike and oh man did this hit the spot. I came on a weekday so parking was not an issue, however it is very limited. The service was quick and the place felt homey. The french toast was pretty classic tasting which was exactly what I wanted. I ordered a regular iced latte with no syrups (i forgot to add this) but it was still really good and enjoyable. The milk to espresso ratio was spot on. Would definitely come again to try something different ! read more

The older lady taking orders with her mask on was not very nice. She was condescending, for no reason. The coffee was not great, but the food was good. We found a better coffee shop down the main strip mid day. The younger girl bringing out the food was very sweet, unfortunately the lady taking orders sets the pace for tips. Placed an order on 1/28 afternoon for nachos and lemonade ( apparently freshly squeezed) The nachos ( the cheese was too much ) but the beans was Nicely spread out in the nacho chips and lemonade ( the lemonade had ice in it ) was good Went back the next day since we were staying at a near by hotel Ordered the same things and added a hamburger well done no cheese ( not that great thick patty and it was not well done ) This time I asked for no ice in the lemonade and light cheese on the nachos As I picked up my order I was told by the cashier that they usually don't put ice in the lemonade , When I got the nachos the 2nd time the beans were in the middle of the nacho chips had to spread it out on top of it was melted cheese it was messy What i want to point out is Don't serve the food in a certain way on one day and different way in another day The only thing I think happened is that probably it was time to close the place they probably just rushed and prepared the food. read more

I live down the alley so I'm no stranger to Orange Inn for their pastries and delicious lunch options. This is a great spot to grab and go since the ocean is steps away so you can lunch with a view. Favorite things: chocolate croissant, almond croissant, breakfast burrito (I ask for extra salsa), chicken burger and the holiday turkey. The gluten free bread is great but it's very small compared to the other bread options which is unfortunate because you pay more for it but you get far less (it's the equivalent of 1/2 a sandwich vs a regular sized sandwich). Wonderful little place to eat the food was very good. Had a great experience until the very end. Let me start by saying the steak omelette was very tasty. It was nice the home. FRIES could've used a little bit more on the fryer, but they were so good Coffee was absolutely amazing Let's get down to the service. So the young lady behind the counter wearing a mask was less than. Polite. Pretty blasé, overall not very friendly, but the kicker was the end of the meal. Burgers were phenomenal. Thick juicy beef patty seared to perfection covered with melted cheddar cheese. Came with crunchy lettuce, slice of sweet tomato, and side of tangy pickles. After fun day on the beach, this was the perfect place to go. The service I thought was above and beyond. Friendly, welcoming and they constantly check on you. It was clean and light very yummy one was enough for two people very filling portion size , tuna was well filled in the sandwich loved the pickles and chips on the side, it's tortilla chips I would've preferred salt and vinegar chips but these were good as well!! Solid diner which is super cute and small for a nice relaxing breakfast. I wanted to give higher stars but unfortunately we had 2 issues wrong with our food - first being that there was a broken off piece of a toothpick in the middle of my husbands sandwich (lucky he didn't swallow it) and my burrito had a full chunk of avocado pit in it that was as hard as a rock. Other than that service was pretty slow but typical for a small place and the inside was super cute. A bit pricey for quality of food also but nice location. read more

We had brunch for five here yesterday. Mainly went because it is a Orange County tradition - one of the oldest juice bars, etc.. The food was decent/good and everyone seemed satisfied. We sat on the back porch, where there are a couple of tables. Employees sit out here on their breaks. The overall employee vibe was a little off. The Orange Inn is legendary spot in LB and a true gem! We came here for lunch with our 2 small kiddos, and they went to every length to make sure we were comfortable and the kids were happy with their meals. The menu is simple, but the ingredients are A+. Do not skip the sourdough bread if you're getting a sandwich, and my boys request the OI smoothie every morning since we were last there!
