Huge disappointment. Over priced, underwhelming food. There's minimal service to comment on because you order at the counter, serve yourself water from one station and coffee from another. No decaf, just a one carafe/dispenser with cream & sugar packets. It was Sunday morning at 11 and no coffee. We asked 3 times over 10 minutes time and they couldn't get it out. Last request, the gentleman we asked twice already (who said he would put out the dispenser) sent a young lady to go get us a cup from behind the counter. That coffee cup was overfilled and tasted burnt. We didn't ever get the 2 cups we purchased. They had a lot of staff, just not taking care of people. A lot of customers walked in and back out, because tables weren't cleaned. Also I think they may have expected a place where you sit down & get waited on. We wish we had not stayed. Food came out fairly fast. The chicken & waffles were not good. Chicken fingers were dry, coated in unseasoned batter, and waffle was soft, no butter served. We asked & were given 2 little butter pats. Pancakes were very generous size, but gummy, not airy. Eggs were cooked over easy- those were fine. For $50 (2 of us) it was a very disappointing breakfast. read more

This is the quintessential Southern Californian brunch spot with fresh light delicious food and good coffee. Admittedly it's in Laguna Beach but not overlooking the water; however, it's right by the Sawdust Art Festival which also has its own SoCal beach vibes. I am addicted to their shrimp bowl, I don't know what it is about it but it's so satisfying and not too heavy but still filling and delicious. They have a splendid looking pastry case as well but I'm never here early enough because every time I've been here, it's been picked through, so they must be pretty popular. The cafeteria style situation makes for a quick speedy service which is perfect for lunch. Weekend brunches are always slammed. read more

I can't believe I just discovered this place today. Laguna is just a beautiful place with very down-to-earth people, and this restaurant represents that perfectly. It's a very casual setting -- order at the register and they bring everything out to you. The staff was so friendly and served us with a smile. Inside was cozy, clean, and well organized, and their outdoor tables are dog-friendly. Our lox Benedicts and brioche French toast were solid. Amazing spot in Laguna beach! I was visiting a friend and we drove to Laguna for the day. We looked up some cute spots for breakfast and I'm so glad we decided to stop here. What impressed me about the service today was the extra care shown by the kitchen staff. Even though the order taker forgot to ask how we wanted our eggs on the steak and waffles, someone from the kitchen personally came out to check instead of making an assumption. You order your food at the window and they bring it out so there's not much to say about the service other than they were nice. The inside is huge and have high chairs for children, which is great. I got the chicken and waffles, which was a 6/10, the chicken was pretty dry, but did have a good crunch to it and they definitely need to give you more syrup. I got a lavender coffee, which I would give a 6/10, I like flour and the coffee was not that strong. My wife did get the bagels and locks and that was pretty delicious. Came based on reviews and I was very happy with my experience. The seating inside the restaurant is first come , first serve but they also have additional seating outside. The food was very yummy , I got the Spinach Benedict and I loved how it had a good amount of spinach, since it is a vegetarian dish. I still enjoyed my eggs Benedict's. I have been to Kitchen in the Canyon many times and I have never had a bad meal. This morning I went to have brunch. The restaurant is set up so that you go to a counter and order and it is delivered to your table. Also in the summer you will see a parking attendant that collects for parking if you are going to one of the art festivals but if you tell them that you are going to eat they will have you park towards the back of the lot. I got a Spinach Benedict with hash brown potatoes. The hash brown potatoes were ok but I have had the roasted potatoes before and I prefer those to the hash brown potatoes. The spinach was sautéed in garlic and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The hollandaise sauce was delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. The ambiance could be better because most of the seating is located outside on picnic benches with some tables and chairs located along the windows of the building. There are a number of tables and chairs on the inside, but this place is very popular with the locals and is located adjacent to the Sawdust Festival so it is very busy and finding a table inside may be challenging depending on the time of day. I still really like this place even though it isn't a high end restaurant and would definitely recommend it. read more

It's located kind of hidden behind the brewery, and I thought no one was there, but once we arrived around 10:00 am, we saw that all the tables outside were already occupied on this gorgeous day, so we got a table inside. My friend and I shared the veggie omelette with hashbrowns and the Almond Berry Toast. I also got a lavender latte, and my friend tried the iced matcha latte. I also had to pick up some pastries to go for my family: blueberry muffin, cinnamon coffee bread, chocolate coffee bread (w/ almonds), mixed berry scone, and cinnamon roll. They even offer some gluten free pastries. Everything we had was tasty, I especially enjoyed the almond berry toast! It was so beautifully made that I didn't want to eat it.
