Good food! Got the steak and mushroom omelette and it was loaded. Restaurant wasn't clean and felt homey. Service was basically non existent

This is the quintessential Southern Californian brunch spot with fresh light delicious food and good coffee. Admittedly it's in Laguna Beach but not overlooking the water; however, it's right by the Sawdust Art Festival which also has its own SoCal beach vibes. I am addicted to their shrimp bowl, I don't know what it is about it but it's so satisfying and not too heavy but still filling and delicious. They have a splendid looking pastry case as well but I'm never here early enough because every time I've been here, it's been picked through, so they must be pretty popular. The cafeteria style situation makes for a quick speedy service which is perfect for lunch. Weekend brunches are always slammed.

I can't believe I just discovered this place today. Laguna is just a beautiful place with very down-to-earth people, and this restaurant represents that perfectly. It's a very casual setting -- order at the register and they bring everything out to you. The staff was so friendly and served us with a smile. Inside was cozy, clean, and well organized, and their outdoor tables are dog-friendly. Our lox Benedicts and brioche French toast were solid. My oat milk matcha latte was great too, and I liked how it came unsweetened so I could add sugar to my liking. Will definitely come back again.

Kitchen in the Canyon is a pretty cool spot located on Laguna Canyon Road. We decided to stop in here for breakfast on our way to Laguna Beach. Parking was easy, seating was abundant, the price point was reasonable, and service was quick. I thoroughly enjoyed my waffle. I would not be opposed to coming back next time I'm in the area. Go ahead and check this place out!

Absolutely loved this spot! The food is incredible and has that authentic, homemade taste you can't beat. The atmosphere is so cozy, making it the perfect place to settle in for a meal. I highly recommend trying the Eggs Benedict and their burger--both were outstanding! Definitely a must-visit. Service was very friendly and quick.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place, we've always driven past it without even knowing it was back here. Plenty of outdoor and indoor space. We got the fried chicken and waffles, breakfast burrito, and a couple of other things. The salsa for the breakfast burrito was weirdly sweet. The fried chicken seasoning was so so good, would get that again. Their fries are also seasoned so well.

First time we came here the place was amazing but this last time it wasn't the same experience. The place has good vibes and close to the beach which makes the parking a little hard to find. But the food that we got this time was lacking flavor and seasoning and a little on the pricy side for breakfast/brunch. We got a BLTA, eggs Benedict, mint mojito, Spanish latte, and a cinnamon roll (which was probably the best thing). They do have lots of options on the menu which is a plus but the food is just "okay".

Amazing spot in Laguna beach! I was visiting a friend and we drove to Laguna for the day. We looked up some cute spots for breakfast and I'm so glad we decided to stop here. The staff were great and the food was even better. I LOVE Belgium waffles. If there's one on the menu, I'm getting it! This one was cooked to perfection and had the right amount of crisp to it. The fruit was fresh and the matcha latte was made perfectly. You know the food is good when it is aesthetically pleasing!!

What impressed me about the service today was the extra care shown by the kitchen staff. Even though the order taker forgot to ask how we wanted our eggs on the steak and waffles, someone from the kitchen personally came out to check instead of making an assumption. That attention to detail really stood out. By the way, he absolutely loved the steak and waffles, and the turkey Cobb salad was incredibly delicious. Honestly, I wouldn't change anything!

Cute little brunch place! Food was good and it came out pretty fast, didn't have to wait too long. The hash brown was nicely done. Coffee was a little better than standard. Comfortable atmosphere and easy to find parking. Great indoor and outdoor space. Clean and relaxing.

Wow! This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent, I've never tried anything I haven't liked, and the portions are great. The staff is kind and happy to help, and the setting is just beautiful. You can also take your food to go and eat at the beach which is super close. Don't forget to try their sweet potato fries!

Quaint little place that is a bit tucked in! Decided to come here because we were on route back to LA from Huntington Beach and wanted some brunch. Found it on Yelp and thought to give it a try! Our server was friendly and service was quick. We got the salmon Benedict, strawberry French toast, a flat white and a cappuccino. Everything was great and tasted clean, fresh and relatively healthy (despite being brunch food!). Food was not greasy and the portion was good. The coffees were also super yummy and cute. We loved the place and was a nice way to end our LA trip!

The food was delicious and the vibe is great for large groups! The perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Do they serve the whole menu all day?

That’s correct! We have the whole menu 8am to 3pm every day!

Not more than 30 minutes, usually 20 minutes on weekends

How do I make Sunday Bruch reservations?

Does Kitchen in the Canyon still offer cooking classes? If so, I am interested in booking a work event for a cooking class.

No, they have unfortunately changed owners a couple of times in the last year! FYI: Patrick is no longer the owner, he sold about a year + ago and then it sold again a few months ago.

To put it simply: this is the kind of place Laguna has been missing. From the moment we walked in, the energy felt dialed-in in a way that immediately reminded me of a Hillstone experience -- polished but not pretentious, lively but still intimate. That balance is incredibly hard to execute, and Nix nails it. For context, I'm part owner of 230 Forest Avenue, so I don't say this lightly: Nix easily lands in my top five in Laguna Beach. We started with Aperol spritzes (perfectly balanced, not overly sweet), along with a couple of appetizers -- including a fried asparagus dish that was addictive in the best way. Crisp, flavorful, and gone way too quickly. For mains, I ordered the veggie burger, which was genuinely one of the best I've had -- hearty, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully constructed (not an afterthought, which vegetarian options so often are). My boyfriend had the noodle salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and layered with flavor. But beyond the food, what really stood out was the overall experience. The atmosphere feels intentional , great music, beautiful crowd, and a buzz that makes you want to linger. It's the kind of place where dinner effortlessly turns into drinks, and drinks turn into "should we just stay a little longer?" Laguna Beach doesn't have a ton of restaurants that hit this level across the board -- food, service, ambiance, and energy, but Nix absolutely does. We'll be back, and soon.

Then came the artichoke appetizer and the soup of the day... and honestly, I could've stopped there and been happy. Super polished, attentive, and clearly know what they're doing without being over the top. If you're looking for amazing food with a cool, laid-back vibe, Nick's is your spot. The Ceviche was fresh and packed with flavor. The Focaccia was so fluffy and was served with a delicious whipped honey butter. For my entree I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle.
