Came here for brunch recently, they have a huge menu so everyone was able to get what they wanted. I enjoyed the cinnamon apple pancakes. They were definitely busy, be aware that your whole party has to be present to be sat. We had a slight debacle with our server ringing in an extra side that no one ordered and still charging for it, but it eventually got straightened out. Overall, this is a fine spot for a classic brunch.

I will say even though they were busy the wait was minimal. It seemed like a large wave of guests would leave at once in an ebb and flow. Service was okay. Our waitress wasn't very friendly but was quick and to the point. I ordered the baby's food as soon as we sat down. My husband and I ordered when her waffle came out. Our food came out much slower - a plain waffle, scrambled eggs and my omelette with rye toast. The vegetarian omelette was maybe the worst omelette I've ordered in a restaurant. It was bland with a mushy/wet texture. There was so much cheese I had to dig through it to find the vegetables. The broccoli was frozen broccoli. Not that it was still frozen but using frozen vegetables was not a compliment to the omelette. The rye bread was okay. Nothing house made but better than the omelette. The waffle was good. If I had a craving for waffles I would order them but again, nothing I'd write home about. I did like the building and seating areas. High ceilings made it feel more open inside while it was quite crowded.

Had the best experience here. I walked into this place last July when 1 first opened my business and I immediately feel in love with the set up, the building, windows, doors the entry way is my whole vibe, and the restaurant is beautiful. Very clean. The owner and staff are absolutely wonderful. Yesterday I had a cancel and I finally dined in. This is my place for now. Amazing. So many choices. Food was good portion and excellent. I really wish I could do take out for this place. I'm love and I will make time to stop back in. Thank you Victoria for you service, recommendations and kindness.

Such a great place for breakfast. HUGE gluten free options for both pancakes and waffles. They are good portion sizes and decently priced. The service was good as well and very attentive. I ordered the gluten free Strawberry pancakes and let me tell you they were fire. With homemade whip cream and strawberry syrup topped with fresh strawberries was devine. Will definitely be back! This place has plenty of parking and it's very nice on the inside with plenty of seating.

My eggs were runny as hell and raw

I had a very bad experience, my name is Will Ivanov and they seemed to serve us as slow as possible. The food was alright but it honestly waiting over an hour was not worth it. Additionally, my eggs were partly raw.

Good, but apples need cooked a lot more. Feels rushed.

Great scrambled eggs! Apple cinnamon pancakes are good although the apple topping is consistently way undercooked; who likes crunchy apples on top of their pancakes? I don't. Beware, they now tack on an "administrative fee" if you use a credit/ATM card to pay your bill. - totally ridiculous - I once frequented this place and will no longer patronize due to the "administrative fee." Greed never ceases to amaze me.

Surprisingly this was my first time here despite in the neighborhood frequently. My son and I went for Saturday breakfast. I really like the feature to get a spot in the waitline on Yelp ahead of arriving to save time. I wish all restaurants did this especially so you don't have to make customers wait in cars due to limited capacity. I checked in the waitlist when we were 10 mins away an we only waited 5 mins upon arriving. It seems that most of their staff are either high school or young college students, they were all polite. The only thing that stuck out for me was the boy greeter who was wearing street clothing (other staff in black uniform) and the woman taking payment who wasn't as friendly as the rest of staff. There was a QR code at each table to pull up the menu which wasn't told to us we just assumed, if for some reason you didn't have a phone or forget it then that would be an issue. Due to covid other restaurants are doing this as well. The prices are very good with average of $8 per person. There are short stack (3-4) pancakes or large (8 pancakes) options with a pretty large selection. My son ordered the blueberry pancakes which came with blueberry syrup. I ordered the feta spinach and tomato omelette which has the option of pancakes, toast or something else with it - I got strawberry pancakes. Our food came out in about 15 mins which was perfect. The portions were just right and server stopped by at just the right times. We can't wait to come back, great service food and location.

The Speckled Egg provided the upscale and elevated breakfast, that was a nice contrast to the rustic and local breakfast we had the next day. Our waitress was friendly and professional. After some deliberation, I went with a bowl that included eggs, chicken sausage, sweet potatoes and a nice garnish of dill. The dill surprisingly elevated the whole dish. My wife enjoyed an omelette. Coffee was also quite good! Nice start to a day of sightseeing! (The restaurant staff gave great advice about the nearby tourist attractions)

He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
