The breakfast sammie is a staple for me and I mean look at it!! Cooked to absolute perfection the homemade English muffin really takes it to the next level! The Shakshouka was bomb the eggs were poached to perfection! The bread was nice and fresh it was soft but still sturdy enough to use to dip! The cereal milk latte is another staple for me I mean how can it not be. The espresso was delicious and the Honey Nut Cheerios was the perfect subtle flavor! Not too sweet which i appreciate. While I waited in a slowly moving line of other customers to order from the bakery, I browsed the shelves in the market. I saw cheeses, bottled beverages such as wines, packaged foods such as grape leaves, and chocolates. I could not find price tags on all foods, so I recommend that those be added. I can confidently say that out of the 30+ pizza restaurants my child has tried my eight-year-old son loves the pizza here. We came on a Friday and also tried sthe fish sandwich. I enjoyed this cute little shop. There are 2 parts to it. One side is a bar and the other side is like a little bakery. They do have a few GF options for the bakery. I opted for a chocolate chip cookie and it was super soft and really tasty. My boyfriend got the soup and a turkey sandwhich on GF Fococcia. The soup was pretty good. It had a bunch of different flavors in it but it was a little sweet and I didnt expect that. I was expecting savory. I loved that they had a local brewing company in their bar too. I tried this place for lunch while passing through Pittsburg. And it was a GREAT choice. I had Turkish eggs - the toast was perfectly toasted, and the labne-egg situation was just what I was craving that day. Healthy & tasty! I also bought a 1 liter bottle of Mountain Valley Spring water for the road and they charged a fair price like in a grocery store which I appreciated. A lot of times in a cafe 1L bottle is around $10. And also they had delicious chocolate milk for sale which I enjoyed. Overall great vibes, a little busy, delicious food and fair prices. I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Mediterra Cafe. While my wife and I have been going to Mediterra Cafe in Sewickley for many years, we had never made out to this location which is located right in the heart of the business district on Beverly Road. While they only have a few spots out front to park, there is plenty of parking on Beverly itself as well as in some side street lots. This Mediterra location actually ended up being quite large and had both a good amount of indoor seating as well as a large outdoor seating area. Granted it was too cold to sit out there and so no one was, but i was impressed with its size. Beyond the seating it also has a small market in one side of the shop where you can pick up some dry goods and then there are multiple display cases and window areas filled with baked goods. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with one of their specials the honey rose latte while my wife also went with a special, the cherry mocha. Beyond that i chose to have a ham & cheese croissant while my wife went with a crookie, my son a cupcake and my daughter a cake pop. After a little bit of a wait, we had our food and headed back to our car. I first ate my croissant which I thought was delicious. The outside had a nice and crunchy exterior while the ham and cheese provided a flavorful inside. My wife really enjoyed her crookie and called it insane while my kids both devoured their cupcake and cake pop respectively. My coffee here was a little less successful. While I could definitely taste the coffee, I thought that the rose flavor was a bit strong and so my coffee came off perfumy. I was also surprised that as I got towards the bottom that I found something weird in my cup. Whenever I opened it up I discovered that they had used what I believed to be actual which would help to explain the strong flavor. My wife had no qualms about her coffee though and thoroughly enjoyed hers. The bottom line for me is that i would stop back here again in the future. While my coffee on this visit wasn't super successful, my wife enjoyed hers and my whole family each throughly enjoyed the baked good that we chose. read more

I have been to Mediterra several times over the last 5 years at the OG locations; Sewickley and Mt. Lebo. It's nice to see they have added two new locations! Food - 4/5 -- most all of the items are delicious, fresh and made well. The French toast my husband had yesterday was not great; quite a soggy middle. My avocado toast was delicious and our coffees were perfect. The chocolate croissant is not great. The cheese & blueberry danish, however, was lovely. So, certain items feel hit or miss. Service - 3/5 -- I will say, this is one of the most disappointing things about this place. The employees at the Mt. Lebo location are always sour and barely smile when taking your order. I accidentally got my croissant for the cafe instead of to-go and the girl at the register looked at her coworker as if I had taken her parking spot. It was weird and very off-putting. Another thing I don't get is that you can't save a table unless you have ordered first. Literally no place I have been in the entire world in the last 10 years does this. If you set a policy like this in place, perhaps you need a bigger location? Or you could just lose patrons. The market is also a nice touch and has plenty to choose from for unique food gifts and items. Overall, Mediterra is a solid choice for a nice get together with family or friends, but I'd love to see their policies change and service up the ante. A smile never hurt anyone! read more

While I was walking to my table I sneezed and accidentally dropped the Boston Cream Cruffin I had gotten and before I could even get to the table, the staff had saw and gotten me a new one! After previously visiting Mediterra in Lawrenceville, we met up with friends for brunch at their South Hills location. This location is significantly larger than the Lawrenceville one, and street parking was fairly easy to come by. On arrival, we secured a table for our party of 4, taking turns holding down the fort while we placed our orders. Similar to the other location, you order at the counter and your food / drink is brought to you. In the cafe / counter area, the Mt. Lebanon location has a small shop where you can purchase a variety of items (coffee, chocolates, snacks, etc), which was a nice touch. While we didn't purchase anything extra, I liked having these items to peruse while waiting in line! Their menu is quite extensive, offering both savory and sweet dishes and an impressive list of baked goods. Having the sweets on display definitely helps draw your attention! We opted to skip the pastries / baked goods this time around, and my husband and I both chose the breakfast sammie for our meal. I'm usually more of a sweet breakfast gal, but the homemade English muffin intrigued me, and considering they are a bakeshop, I was sold. This was a great dish - the muffin was nicely fluffy while still being filling and hearty enough to hold the components of the sandwich. I loved the freshness of the tomato, arugula, and pesto. I think a fresh moz or traditional moz could have been a better pairing than the cheddar that topped the eggs to lean into the Italian vibe, but no big deal. I was pleased with my savory choice during our visit, and my husband felt similarly. We both opted for the cold brew for our caffeine fix, although their specialty coffee drinks (namely the cereal milk latte) seemed so fun. We were impressed with the presentation of the cold brew - it came to us on a little tray with details about the brew and a glass to self decant the coffee. While I just asked for milk with mine, one of our friends asked for sugar, which was presented as a syringe of simply syrup. Certainly one of the more unique and intricate cold brew presentations I've seen! Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast / brunch at Mediterra in Mt. Lebanon, and we were pleased with our choices and our ability to find a table on a busy day :) I would definitely revisit this location over the Lawrenceville location for its size, parking, and expanded menu, although I am curious to try the original Sewickly location. Next visit to any location though will hopefully enjoy a pastry and a fun coffee! read more

This place is so cute! We wanted to eat on a patio with our doggo in the sun and this was perfect! Dog friendly, cute little patio. We were a little confused on the ordering at first but eventually figured it out. My boyfriend ordered while I hung out with the puppy so I didn't get to explore the shop but hopefully next time. I had the yogurt and granola bowl. So filling and you could tell everything was fresh. I also got the almond butter toast. I loved the almond butter and bananas. They have all of the standard specialty coffee drinks and a surprising number of flavored syrups. I got a maple latte which was delicious! I also tried the breakfast Sammie and loved that by default it does not come with meat (the pescatarian in me always enjoys when things are veggie forward), although there is the option to add bacon. It was served on a surprisingly large English muffin that was very filling! I also had to exhibit some serious self control from not partaking in any of the mouth watering patisserie-level baked goods. The decor in the main dining room/bar is modern and chic. The sitting area was quite large with an extra room in the back that was semi private.
