What a fantastic find. While up for a quick weekend getaway stumbled upon this diamond. Small and quaint restaurant with a very homey atmosphere. Sat at the counter and ordered The Redneck omelette which was the best omelette I've ever had. The counter seats overlook Chef Bobby as he he prepares your meal. What a great seat to admire the master at work. Bobby is very pleasant and obviously loves his job because he was always smiling and welcome to pleasant conversation. Place was very small, small tables, small coffee cups, but also a small check. Our waitress was friendly and service was speedy but my food did not impress me. Well worth the wait ! Although the Omelette factory is located on rte 1, in a basement of a small building, it is convenient with parking and close to all the hotels between Wells and Ogunquit. Even though I am not a fan of omelette's I was blown away with my meal. I had the unusual fare of an omelette stuffed with bananas, honey and cream cheese . Recomended by a very nice local. Went there today and as the previous review stated, the cook doesn't wear gloves welhen preparing food, not very sanitary. In addition, I ask if they do take out, the guy at the register said they do, have me a menu and then 5 minutes later when I said I was ready to order he said they don't do tanlke out until 11:30. This was my first visit to the Omelette Factory. I had one of the best omelettes ever! For me to eat an entire three egg with filling omelette it HAD to be over the top. The Omelette Factory was. I had the Greek Omelette. Very good ratio of each filling. We sat at the counter and watched the process. Great job guys! This was a delicious breakfast! The omelette factory was walking distance from the motel we were staying at. I had the burrito supreme the first morning in Ogunquit, it was so good we had to come back for breakfast again on the second day. We've come here for years when visiting. Hasn't been the same since they sold....Today we tried it one more time cold coffee, I asked for eggs over easy come out hard gross!!! Pros: Really yummy omelettes! Like really good. I get the same one every time I go. I forget the name, but it has cream cheese, bananas and honey...so good. This is not a fancy place, but that's fine. The proportions are generous. Cons: The place is in a cramped basement, it's really small, so small we can't go if we have our kids, but then again, I don't think it's super kid friendly. The service is not fabulous, so don't expect it when you go. I don't like that they really only have strawberry jelly, that is a big con for me. The service on the second visit was suspect, but not enough to ruin a great breakfast. I had an omelette the first day, but the pancakes I got on the second day where beyond description. They were so good. Only the homemade strawberry jam and English muffins were close. I even bough two jars of jam to take home with me. The price was cheap for what you got. WOW What a place!!! First off 40 omelettes on the menu is crazy. I had a western the first morning, and my wife had a standard breakfast. The wait staff was amazing. Donovan and Donette are the most genuine people and so friendly. They made my wife a special Jamaican breakfast our 2nd day in Maine. This is one of those places where judging from the outside, you're not too excited to go in, but you do anyway and you're not disappointed with the result. Cute little shack-like restaurant sort of on the outskirts of the busy area of town. The first time I came here it was really busy (good sign) and I just watched in aww as the chefs cracked the eggs so fast, it was crazy. I came here again at a quieter time. Even though there was hardly anyone in the place, my friend and I were seated in the back area by ourselves which is nice. So many times you go to restaurants and they seat you on top of each other because its easier for them. It was also good we were in the back because some of their staff is ahem, a little loud and brash when "talking" and it was pretty roudy in the front (especially for only having a few guests!) But I digress. Their food is awesome and they give you huge portion sizes. Perfect place to go if you're going outlet shopping that day - you can fill up at breakfast and skip lunch. read more
