Such a wonderful cafe in Ogunquit! There was a little bit of a line when we arrived, but the food was delivered faster than expected. Ambiance is relaxing and cozy. Service was great! Menu boasts tons of options, but husband and I opted for egg dishes. My kids enjoyed yogurt and granola. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We admired the giant and aesthetic baked goods but didn't try any-maybe next time! read more

This bakery has just the right balance of unpretentiousness with the finer things in life. For starters, it's by Ogunquit beach, so right there the ambiance is pretty amazing. Getting a generous breakfast sandwich to go and eating it to the soundtrack of the waves is a Maine delicacy. The toughest part about going in this bakery is a toss-up between waiting in line, as there is sure to be one, and having to choose your selection. The variety baked goods is so extensive that it always takes me a few minutes just to get my bearings. Arguably the best part, if you happen to be lucky enough to snag a seat in the cafe, is that the walls feature local artists. Enjoying a pastry next to a masterpiece is certainly a fine way to start the day in my opinion. This bakery draws an amazing crowd. I dined near a family who spoke Norwegian, which is a nod to the greatest educational system in the world here in the U.S., or perhaps the magnetism of this bakery to pull travelers from far and wide. To find out, I guess I'll have to go back do more research. read more

I liked this place... I didn't love it. It was so crowded. It was absolute chaos. In my opinion, going out for coffee shouldn't be a stressful experience. This felt stressful. My husband asked for an egg sandwich on a bagel and was told the egg sandwiches were premade on croissants. The woman clearly did not want to make one fresh on a bagel and pressured him into getting something he didn't want. I will say the cinnamon chip scone was outstanding. Highly recommend. We both had iced coffees that were good. Not great, but good. The thing my husband was over the moon for was a chocolate filled chocolate muffin. It was literally like having chocolate lava cake for breakfast! Who wouldn't love that?! We sat outside and because Ogunquit was bustling, it was fun people watching. read more

Food was great (8/10). Service was a 2/10. Prices are outrageous. Not worth it. Asked me if I prefer to sit inside or outside. I say inside. They immediately proceed to seat me outside. (Not a big deal but why ask me lol) Wife and I ordered coffees. She forgot them. Daughter ordered an apple juice. Had to remind her. Kids ordered a fruit cup. Had to remind her. Meals took about an hour to come out (I think she forgot that too). Waited so long my son passed out at the table waiting for the food. Had to get to go boxes for a bunch of it cuz we had been there for 90 minutes just waiting in the heat. Food was great but I get the bill. Rather than attempting to make it right, instead they charge me for every little modification possible. Mocha in wife's coffee $1. Shot of espresso in my coffee $3. Almond milk in coffee $2. Add cheese to burrito $2. My son's side dish that immediately went to waste $8. I'm actually shocked we didn't get charged $1 per to-go box. Ordered food for 2-3 people, no alcohol, and it was over $120 before tip. I can forgive the poor service but tallying the bill for every grain of salt brought to the table? Yea, no. I'll never go back. read more

This visit to the Greenery was awesome. Stopped by at 9:30 on a Monday. The wait was relatively short. Scored a high top outdoors. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was nice. The coffee was good. Our entrees were excellent. My brother and I split the breakfast burrito and the hash and American omelette. They were both awesome. The toast was great. I can tell you from previous visits not to sleep on the muffins- they're terrific. The pace of the meal was leisurely, which is perfect for vacation. My favorite breakfast spot in OGT. The only downside is the extremely long wait during t peak times. read more

We had amazing food and service at the Greenery on a busy Sunday morning. After a short wait we were seated outside and ordered with our very kind and attentive server. The prices seemed high at first, but the portions and quality of the food made them seem much more reasonable. Everyone in our party was very happy with what they ordered and we left very full & satisfied. read more

Known for their muffins and I can see why. When you walk in you're greeted by a huge display with absolutely beautiful, creative muffins. We got the chocolate chip and orange cranberry walnut- both great size, moist, and extremely tasty. Would definitely come back here next time we're in Maine to try more muffins!! read more

This place never disappoints! I couldn't decide between blueberry pancakes or lobster Benedict so they let me order a little of both, so I ordered one blueberry pancake (which was almost the size of the plate), and a half order of lobster Benny that had the best hollandaise sauce that I've had in a long time. It was a rainy day so the atmosphere was cozy inside. The wait staff was friendly and, because most of the tourists had left town after the summer season, the patrons coming in were locals. Everyone seemed to know each other, which added such a nice small town vibe. It's no wonder I go there every time I'm in town! Btw- I left with a couple of muffins to go: one pistachio and the other raspberry almond. Both were so big that I shared with the person sitting next to me on the plane ride home. We both enjoyed them :) read more

Our server, Amanda, took great care of us and our dog. The food was excellent! I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

The best place in Qgunquit for best breakfast or lunch. The reason I give it 4 stars is the long wait to get in. Waits can easily be over a half hour. Otherwise, the food and service are great. No matter what you order, everything my wife and I have had has been great. My favorites are the Monte Crisco, cornbeef hash omelet or the biscuts with sausage gravey. Don't forget to get muffins and bread to go. The corn and blueberry muffins are the best along with the cinimum bread. You will really enjoy this place. read more

Very busy cute cafe and after eating there I understand why. The food was amazing and the orange juice was freshly squeezed! The service was great and very attentive! This place is very cute. I went by earlier today around 8am and there were people, but it wasn't crazy. My server was very nice and it's a chill vibe. I can see where it probably gets crazy in the Summer though. I ordered the greenery breakfast, a single pancake, 2 diet cokes, and a small milk. Everything was yummy. My bacon was a little overdone for how I like it, but no foul to them as I didn't specify. People kept coming in just for the muffins so, I was persuaded to get one to-go! Everything came to $38.87 which for me is a little pricey however, I would honestly come back and eat here again. I did try the muffin when I got home and it was yummy. I'd say of the ones I've had that weren't home made - it was solid. I like mine a bit more sweet however, their muffins are not dry and I can't tell you how rare that is. I would get it again and probably another flavor as well just to see. read more

We had to drive though on errands and decided to stop for a coffee and a nibble. The bakery items were plentiful and my scone was yummy. Too many options. Ha ha I can be picky about my iced coffee and when you get your iced coffee and all the ice has melted. Well, it is no longer iced coffee but tepid coffee. They do offer parking in back and easy to get to off the main drag. Worth the visit and on a sunny day, sit outside and watch the people. Perfect. read more

Wonderful breakfast spot. Friendly and fast service. Sat on the front patio in the good weather which was lovely if a little noisy from the busy road. Food was delicious. I had eggs and corned beef hash and delicious bread and was stuffed by the end. The fresh squeezed lemonade was delicious and our server even topped me off a little free of charge. Highly recommend. We always come back when on vacation. Great breakfast and service was outstanding. Thanks for another great breakfast!

As a regular (non meat-eater) customer of this (usually) fantastic restaurant, it was disappointing to find pieces of ham in my food within the first few bites. Obviously, I didn't touch the rest of the food. Accidents happen, but it was more disappointing that, even after informing the server, she still charged me. She said there was no manager/owner to talk to, otherwise I would have done that opposed to writing a review. read more

We had an awesome breakfast at The Greenery Cafe. It was Mother's Day and we were in town and, despite the holiday, our wait was only 10 minutes. They allow you to eat with your dog as long as you're on their outside patio. We ordered the: breakfast burrito, the crab saratoga, and the morning blt. I couldn't decided between the crab saratoga or the maple walnut French toast. Our server said I could substitute the toast that comes with the crab saratoga with a half order of the French toast so I was able to try both. My favorite was the morning blt it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend that sandwich. The maple French toast was my second favorite. The crab saratoga I ordered based off all the other reviews but it was just ok to me. Not bad but wouldn't order again. Service could've been a bit better; our server was nice but she barely checked on us, took a long time to take our order, and we had to ask for everything (more water, napkins, plates etc) but to be fair it was busy. They even gave our dog a piece of bacon just because he was a good boy. read more

Had breakfast at The Greenery cafe today, and the place was packed! My girlfriend and I sat at the counter bar, and I've got to say--it was a fantastic experience. I haven't stopped coming to The Greenery Cafe in Ogunquit for over seven years and it's time I share my experience. During the first six years, my visits were clockwork to my favorite cafe every 2-3 months, I'd eat there at the bar with Steph(everyone's favorite) 1-3 times per trip. After a two year hiatus from my job, I glowingly(!!!!) returned to the G Cafe and expected (and DID) find that the cafe remains the hidden gem I've always cherished. My go to dishes are the crab Benedict, breakfast burrito, and huevos rancheros. Each is always amazing and it makes it hard to branch out to other menu items. The freshness and quality you guys!!!! Dining solo as a business traveler, I prefer sitting at the bar. Steph ALWAYS keeps me comfy and her friendly demeanor adds a personal touch that enhances the overall experience. As I enjoyed my meal the other day, I overheard (not exaggerating) three other patrons exclaim that it was the best brunch they've ever had. Im really happy for them because they all deserve it, every time I've been here I feel the same! The Greenery Cafe offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for both solo meals and gatherings(It gets so busy, Ive only seen it slow a few times and that's because i visit year round in the off season- ITS WORTH A LITTLE WAIT IF YOU HAVE TO!). The staff's attentiveness and the consistently delicious food make it a standout spot in Ogunquit. If you're in the area, this spot in the best! They also have a takeaway spot downtown with breakfast goodies if you really CANT make the trip! ENJOY! read more

Great gem that we found on our trip. Took a bit to get our breakfast but the food was worth the wait. Classic eggs Benedict was fantastic. The Ruben omelette was interesting but good. This place was SLAMMED! 45 minute wait. It was well worth it! Our food was DELICIOUS. My mom got a monte cristo, and she said it couldn't have been any better. Food was excellent. Suggested server training - Although it is stated on the menu it would be courteous if servers would let customer know that substitutions have an upcharge. Substituting a slice of tomato instead of bacon for a vegetarian should not be an additional $.75 but if you must, then tell the customer when ordering. The "wait for the whole party" to be seated for a party of two is 'kinda' silly. One could just say one person and have a cup of coffee and peruse the great menu. Making one person wait especially when there are three open two tops is not, in my opinion, good service. And a customer does not want to hear, "I just work here I don't make the rules". I waitressed many a summer in Kennebunk and good customer communication is absolutely necessary. I commend the server who did seat me as it was my first visit to the new restaurant. The meal was delicious. I don't think i am going back but that is my choice. read more

Driving by on our way to Footbridge beach when we saw an overflowing parking lot. We decided to check it out. Wow what a beautiful little cafe with extraordinary hand painted pictures worth a pretty penny. We ordered a couple of sandwiches with a side of hash browns. I decided on a cheese burger with provolone & my bride a turkey BLT on sourdough bread. My burger was ok it did come out medium rare as I had asked for but it was obvious the burger came out of a box pre made. Son the other hand a BLT with homemade Turkey on sourdough was a huge sandwich and very very good. Walking distance from my motel so I visited mid week in June for a breakfast burrito about 730AM. Busy but with empty tables. I was alone and got seated at a two top quickly. Waitress was nice but accidentally overlooked me - water and coffee went first to the couple next to me who were seated after me. I had to get her attention, she apologized for forgetting the drinks and was pleasant. She then asked me if I wanted my check less than 10 minutes after I was served and at that point I kept an eye on my watch. I asked for a refill on water and it was a little awkward. I walked out the door 15 minutes after she asked me if I wanted the check, so maybe 25 minutes after being served and with the feeling that I had overstayed my welcome. I paid $28 for the food and a mug of coffee with tip and had the strong feeling that I overstayed my welcome. As a person who earns $25 an hour it's a big deal to go out for breakfast and this experience felt bad. I ordered the burrito without sausage and it was very bland; so maybe the usual seasoning didn't work without sausage. Hash browns, shredded potato style, were forgettable...not raw but also not especially well cooked or seasoned. Syscoesque guacamole, sourcream, pico on the side. More of a bakery pancake/waffle/place than eggs. Def not a burrito place. read more

It was okay. Food tasted good. Service could be better. Coffee not great. I wouldn't come here again. QUICK POINTS: 1) They lack knowledge of what ingredients are in the food they're serving. 2) Waitress was kind and attentive, but lacked clear communication skills. 3) No dairy-free cheese options. 4) latte with almond milk was "ick". Probably the brand of almond milk. 5) No Dairy-Free pastries or muffins. They don't know what's in the food they're serving: I expected a place called "The Greenery" to be more conscious and knowledgeable about their ingredients of the food they're serving. I asked if the bread bread for the burger had dairy in it, she went and asked and said they didn't know because it came from an outside source... I feel it's really irresponsible to have no idea what ingredients are in the food you're serving your customers. Waitress was kind and attentive in checking in on me, however, there were a couple points in conversation that I felt like she lacked transparency or a willingness/ability to be clear and avoid confusion. Example - I asked for maple syrup in my latte. She asked if I wanted table syrup or real Maine syrup. In my mind, they were just going to add that to my latte while making it like every other place I order it at, so I chose the Maine syrup. But instead a little unopened bottle of maple syrup arrived with my latte, and I got the feeling I was going to have to pay for the whole bottle... I asked and yes, $4.50 for the bottle. She could have just presented the cost with her statement and it would have saved us all time and the annoyance of her lack of transparency. They kindly put the veggie burger on a wrap - and it tasted Great. It came with choice of side salad & Dairy-Free dressing, which tasted fresh and great as well. There are no Dairy-Free cheese options, which is fine, just letting you know. The water tasted good, which is rare at restaurants. My latte was ick. I'm pretty sure it was almond milk that made it taste watery and chalky. I'm guessing they use Nature's Promise brand, that usually has the chalky/watery taste. They charge a $1 for a to-Go cup for coffee, which I think is fair as we all should all be moving toward reusable things anyways. No Dairy-Free pastry options. They have a Lot of pastry options, but none of them are dairy-free. read more
