The most delicious cake for any chocolate/coffee lover out there.
    Elizabeth S.

My favorite bakery in all the land. I've been coming here for MANY years. I am never disappointed. There a vast selection of baked goodies and yummy coffee. When I come up I stock up on all the family favs. They freeze extremely well. I've sent items as gifts and my friends have loved them so much. Each year my birthday cake is a chocolate mocha cake that is to die for.

Bread and Roses bakes up a large selection of delicious goodies! I wanted to take one bite of everything. We preordered my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary cake and it was heavenly. We got the wild Maine blueberry and lemon cake. The cream cheese lemon icing was particularly divine! It went perfectly with some bubbly for the special occasion.

Disappointing raspberry oat bar - soggy maybe it was the hard to open packaging

Years ago ( when Bread and Roses was in Ogunquit and had different owners ) it was 5 stars.... I used to take my kids in trr he see for a special treat after the beach on vacation. ... it was the best bakery I'd been to . Now it's sad... almost hidden in Wells.., terrible hours, no bakery to walk in a peruse....you have to order at a window I hit a chocolate raspberry oat bar that was sealed in a commercial package and was soggy and yuk. Sad this business won't make it . Too bad the old owners sold it It's nowhere near what it was

Came here after attempting to go to Dunkin' and the line was too long there. 10x better food and drinks and much quicker! The parking is a little tight - there is only parking for about 7 cars max, so I'm sure it gets busy peak season. I have wanted to come here before but it was too busy so I drove past. However, now that I know how good it is, I will make more of an effort to come back! My mom always raves about the Carpe Diem coffee they serve. I expected it to taste the same as any other coffee I've had, but it was actually some of the best I've had! I ordered an iced caramel latte (they have dairy alternatives) and I got my mom a hazelnut hot coffee, both were delicious! For food, my mom got a lemon blueberry scone and I got a spinach and cheese croissant. She said it was the best scone she's ever had and appreciated the huge size and Maine blueberries inside. I enjoyed my croissant, but I almost wish I got a plain one. The actual croissant was so delicious and flavorful, but the only flavor I got was spinach. Staff was super nice as well, and I looked inside and saw such a huge variety of baked goods. They told me it was all freshly baked that morning too! Prices are on the high end, but on par with what I would expect from a high quality bakery like this. I will be back, especially since its 2 minutes from my moms house :)

We paid premium prices to order a blueberry sour cream coffee cake via Goldbelly. The coffee cake tasted great but there were some technical issues with the cake. You can see it's darker around the edges so it's a bit over baked and all the berries sunk to the bottom. A little disappointed. The delivery was also a day late. Not sure if the issue was with Goldbelly, UPS or Bread and Roses.

Possible the best blueberry pie I have ever eaten. This is the real deal. I will be asking if they'll share the recipe.

This is the new location of the highly-rated Bread & Roses bakery that was a few miles south of here on Main St in Ogunquit. This location is also on Route 1 but is being operated as a takeout window only, presumably for safety reasons as the pandemic continues. The window does not face the road, so you have to keep an eye out for it, but there's plenty of free parking in the back. As for the baked goods, where do I begin? I suppose the answer has to start with the Maine blueberry pie, which may be the best blueberry pie I've ever had. The cakes are pretty special, too, and sold by the slice. But then there's the cinnamon butter puffs, the whoopee pies, the croissants, the cookies, the bread... one trip isn't enough.

The whoopie pies are simply awful. The outer shell is heavy and doughy while the inside filling is simply way too sweet to be edible.

A real refreshing old type bakery. They make fantastic cakes and pies. Old fashion hand held snacks are nostalgic. Just the best.

Today was that day to finally visit because my wife and I had a plan to check out Scoop Deck ice cream for their fall flavors. Which this coffee trailer is located in the parking lot of Scoop Deck so this was our first stop. They just dropped their fall drinks that included a spiced apple chai, Morning Lark (maple syrup and brown sugar), Night Owl (think dirty chai with vanilla and cinnamon), Pumpkin Latch Latte, Apple Cider and a Chaider. My wife got their Night Owl and loved it while I got their Morning Lark and loved it as well. Both had a ton of flavor and were well made. They do make their own syrups and they definitely know what they are doing. Another big reason for this visit is my wife was in search of a new glass coffee cup with bamboo top and Lark had them so we got one of those too. Friendly service with a good size parking lot (I suspect it may get packed during peak summer though) who make delicious drinks to get you that kickstart to your day! Plenty of outdoor seating of their own and scoop deck to enjoy your drink with the nice weather too. A new favorite for coffee spots for us! Knock out two spots with one trip between here and scoop deck, it is a no brainer

Good sized parking lot and while I believe they have an inside area we went to the order window to grab coffees and enjoy the nice weather. They have food but we had already eaten so will need to return later on. Besides the typical drinks they offered some good seasonal drinks as well. I ended up going with Strawberry Fields, that had an incredible flavor to it. My wife got their Maude's Mocha and really enjoyed it as well. Top notch drinks by far, worthy of returning to. While we did enjoy the drinks the mention of them having goats was a huge reason for coming by. Besides goats, they also have some chickens. Both areas have some picnic tables to enjoy your food and drinks. They had roughly 5 or 6 goats and we got all of them to come over for some love and scratches. Goats are one of my favorite animals since I've worked with them for so many years and loved meeting some new ones. One had a feisty attitude but even she came around and enjoyed scratches on her withers(back). A coffee shop worth stopping at for friendly service with a smile, tasty coffee and cute goats!

In the basket was a 12-ounce bag of ground coffee from Maine's Katahdin Coffee Company. After a few cups, I realized I was drinking some of the very best coffee I ever had in my long coffee drinking life. It had been a very long time since we used ground coffee, because we converted to K Cups years ago (don't hassle me about the environment because we empty out and recycle all those plastic pods). We used one of those "make your own K Cup" plastic/mesh baskets that was banished to a kitchen cabinet for many years, scooped in a few spoonfuls of Katahdin and brewed it in our K Cup machine. My Katahdin coffee was a Medium/Dark variety known as "Baxter Blend". The flavor ran rings around everything else we have in the house. Yes, it was a zillion times better than what I normally drink. Katahdin is sold in quite a few Maine grocery stores and through their website. The website has offerings in 10-ounce, 12-ounce, and 2-lb bags, with choices of ground or whole bean across a few different flavors including Breakfast Blend, Breakfast Blend Decaf, Baxter Blend, French Roast, Maine Whoopie Pie, Hazelnut and Maine Blueberry Pie. Yes, we will be sending out a mail order as soon as we use up every last ground of coffee in that 12-ounce bag.
