The Rococo Dessert Bar is such a unique and fresh idea located in Kennebunkport! For a night cap,…read moremy friend and I visited to try their espresso martinis. The dessert bar is beautifully decorated with touches of peacocks and pink. Aside from espresso martinis, the menu is extensive with different types of cocktails and desserts. Our waitress was friendly and provided us with great recommendations. Next to the dessert bar is Rococo ice cream. It's a sweet lover's dream!

This new dessert bar is SUCH a cute spot in Kennebunkport! Perfect if you're done with dinner but…read moredon't want the night to end yet. The menu is a great mix of drinks, desserts, and dessert-drink combos. A group of 5 of us arrived and waited about 10 minutes for spots at the bar. The inside is pretty small but optimized with both bar and booth seating. The decor is so cute and whimsical. I loved all of the details! The desserts are pricey (most are around $15-20), but the portions are big enough to share with at least 1 other person. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Royale, which really hit the sweet-salty spot with a warm choc chip cookie, salty sweet cream ice cream, salted caramel, sesame brittle, and tahini whipped cream. The savorier elements allowed me to keep eating and not get overwhelmed by sweetness. My friends got the vegan peach crumble and chocolate cake and enjoyed theirs as well. Come with your sweet tooth, and leave happy and satisfied!

I wish their website had a clear distinction on the dessert cafe and scoop shop. I drove 45 minutes…read morewith the belief the dessert shop was open, to discover the scoop shop was the only one open. Between the dessert cafe menu being available and the shops being side by side and the website not being so discerning this is honestly the second time I've tried to go to the dessert shop and it being closed. To my dismay not only that but the lady scooping wasn't the friendliest person either since we drove out of the way we got some ice cream. We sampled a few. I got the goatcheese blackberry chamboard and it was tasty. As was the Cuban coffee, but YIKES. 2 small scoops was $17! I have no issue paying for ice cream, but for a small being $8 and change, that is nutty even for me. And it was truly a small scoop- not like other New England scoop shops when a "small" is the size of a tennis ball. This was a true small. Imma pass

Our server was very friendly and was happy to answer any questions we had as well as let us sample flavors. I got a small cup with a scoop of Maine Whoopie Pie and a scoop of Speculoos & Chocolate. The pretzel one had a caramel taste which I liked, and the whoopie pie was a vanilla base with chocolate cake--both were super tasty and creamy. I do wish it was a little bigger for the price but it was so good nonetheless. They have seating outdoors and it was a cool day out so we enjoyed our treats outside right by the boats. They also have a dessert bar next door serving desserts with alcohol, she said it'll be opening in a few weeks. Cool idea!

Next time I'd probably…read morejust split a small with someone, as they seem on board with adding 2 flavors to one cup but the sign does say 1 flavor only (maybe your scooper will be more agreeable). Make sure to bring cash. There is some seating outside and seemingly always a long line to order when it's hot out. Luckily the line moved quickly. There is a huge list of flavors, so inspect them before it's your time to order. I got the bourbon maple pecan which tastes a bit like a butter pecan but with a more intense flavor and a bit of a kick and the Maine blueberry. Both were great, but the blueberry was both unique and out of this world! A great flavor to try while in Maine. There is also a Maine blueberry pie which I was also curious about. I was delighted by the flavor options and the taste. Great place for a summer treat!

"Oh, daddy You soothe me with your smile…read moreYou're letting me know You're the best thing in my life" (Fleetwood Mac) We were in Wells on the past weekend, and to our surprise not all of the ice cream shops had opened for the season. Some were, some weren't. But fortunately, Big Daddy's were! And to prove it, there was one helluva healthy line of customers waiting to get their frozen fix in a cup or a cone. They have around 50 ice cream flavors, plus some sorbets, sherberts, and yogurts. We were so intrigued by one of their flavors that we both ordered it. I mean, c'mon, when have you ever seen Banana Chocolate Chip on a menu? It was excellent. Smooth and creamy with a definite banana flavor and plenty of chocolate chips. A Kiddie portion was a pricey $6.95, but in all fairness, that Kiddie portion was equal in size to some of the "small" scoops we've had over the years at various ice cream joints. Big Daddy has four locations in the Wells, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport area, so if you're up this way during the summer, you won't be too far from experiencing an experience with Big Daddy!
